Her character was best known for her friendship with Lola Pearce played by Danielle Harold and became the reason Lola lost custody of daughter Lexi Pearce.

As well as her role in the long – running BBC soap fans may remember her from a famed BBC children’s show.
The TV star starred in Tracy Beaker spin off Tracy Beaker Returns and played the role of Sapphire Fox.
Sapphire first appeared in the show back in 2010 and was a resident of Elm Tree House care home and was the oldest of the children.
She enacted as a guide and an older sister to the other children, especially Harry Jones who saw her as a mother figure.
The London-born actress eventually left the show in 2012 and went on to feature on other the TV programmes such as Holby City, Youngers and Strike.
Last year, Saffron bagged a role in the now axed ITV drama which lasted just one series on the airwaves.
Three Little Birds was a six-part limited series, created by comedian Sir Lenny Henry that is inspired from his very own family history.
The programme first made its way onto screens in October 2023, and was a loose depiction of his mother’s journey to the UK in the 1950s.
Despite plenty of ideas for new instalments the broadcaster decided not to commission another series.
This left the Comic Relief co-founder enraged, hitting out at ITV in the wake of the cancellation.
The TV legend told The Guardian: “These days, it seems that many black dramas only get one series.
“There are numerous examples of this – and sadly, Three Little Birds is just one more in that same category.”
He also claimed that he had more to give and he was already planning future storylines for the hit show.
Sir Lenny added: “We were only just getting to know Rochelle Neil, Saffron Coomber, Yazmin Belo and Javone Prince and their stellar performances as Leah, Chantrelle, Hosanna and Aston.
“The audience reaction was amazing and I had some really good storylines planned for their characters.”

A HEROIC Israeli special forces soldier told of driving Hamas terrorists from a kibbutz and storming a hostage tunnel site.
Barak Deri, 33, battled bloodthirsty fanatics for months before he was hit by a grenade and multiple gunshots.

Israeli special forces reserve soldier Barak Deri with The Sun’s Daniel Hammond[/caption]
His life changed forever on October 7 last year after he discovered propaganda footage shared online by extremist butchers.
Palestinian gunmen had poured over the Gaza border and filmed their shooting of a police car from a mounted pickup truck.
Brave Barak ran straight to his motor to join his unit, as harrowing tales of massacres at Kibbutz Be’eri came in over the phone.
During his journey he received messages from three of his brothers who were taking refuge from killers at the Nova festival.
Barak told The Sun: “As I was heading down south I was starting to receive messages. They will stick with me forever.
“We are a family of five boys and I began to receive messages of goodbye – and their pleas of ‘come to rescue us’.”
Barak’s brother Amit, 26, was shot twice in the leg during his attempt to flee from terrorists, joined by Lahav, 34, and Sahar, 22.
But the soldier was ordered to Kibbutz Be’eri by his commander – as it became clear a full-scale invasion was underway.
He made the agonising decision to join fellow servicemen and take the fight to growing waves of marauding Jihadists.
Barak said: “We were told there is something bigger going on there – and I faced probably one of the most difficult decisions I had to face in my life.
“My choice was whether to go to my injured brother’s location or to go to Kibbutz Be’eri to try and solve something huge that is going on.
“I decided to go to the kibbutz because on the way there I started to see the bodies on the side of the road.
“Despite my brother being injured I understood that there is something way bigger happening – something we’ve never seen before.”
Barak, a reserve operator in the Israel Defence Force (IDF) special forces, came under fire with comrades and was driven off the road.
He said: “On the way three pickup trucks full of terrorists began shooting us. Fortunately they continued driving.
“We were able to get out of the vehicle and start to walk to Kibbutz Be’eri through the forest.”
They trekked more than two miles under the cover of bushes and trees as gunfire crackled out in the distance.
We are a family of five boys and I began to receive messages of goodbye – and their pleas of ‘come to rescue us’
The unit then began gunning down fighters on their entrance to the kibbutz, as the scale of the atrocities became clear.
Barak, a dad to a child of two, remembered: “We shot them. The next thing for us was to go inside.
“There we saw all the atrocities the terrorists had committed, from children, women, men elderly people.
“They had been slaughtered, shot in the living room, in the streets, everywhere.
“A lot of burnt houses you know, the smell of blood, fire and also a lot of sights that probably will stick with me forever.
“There were many incidents that we encountered, civilians that were hidden inside their shelters and the rest of their family that they butchered in the living room.
“It was a very tough day and we had so many firefights with the terrorists, there were hundreds of them.”
As the day’s conflict drew to a close, Barak counted 110 dead terrorists in the kibbutz, with many more fleeing back to Gaza.
He learned his family was safe and were being treated in hospital. But for Barak, the war was only just beginning.
Barak fought to save hostages for months afterwards – and as part of a mission uncovered a transfer site to enemy tunnels.

Israeli soldiers remove the body of a civilian killed in the massacre[/caption]
He said: “We decided to raid this house and to try to save whoever was inside.
“I was supposed to be the first one to enter the room and I knew there was a good chance that I was either gonna get injured or killed.
“Because of that I just took a sheet of paper and I set my affairs in order and wrote letters to my loved ones and make everything clear in my mind, that I will go with a clear heart.
“During an intense firefight a grenade blew up next to me and after my body hit the ground from the blast.
“I got shot several times from the internal room in the house.
“I was lying on the floor and my primary weapon, the barrel had a bullet lodged inside. It was stuck in the barrel which can show you how close the bullets went next to us.
“So I just grabbed a grenade of my own and threw it to the room where I was shot from and after that there was a big explosion, then just quiet and darkness.
“My team waited for me – it was two minutes but it felt like eternity.”
Barak, left with wounds across his stomach and broken legs, said he considered taking his own life to avoid further torture from Hamas.
He woke up fighting for his life on a helicopter with five wounded comrades before being taken to hospital for urgent treatment.
Barak, who must now rely on crutches and a walking stick, says he has no regrets about what took place.
He said: “It took me a very long time to understand if I’m alive or dead. I had a lot of difficulties with it during this long recovery.
“It was one of the most traumatic times of my life because every hour and a half I had morphine injection into my vein. I didn’t have the attention for a song, for a conversation or for a movie, nothing.
“Gradually things got better and better and just two days before my arrival here I got out of the hospital.
“I still have like seven surgeries to go and I will be disabled for the rest of my life, because of this you can see me walking with crutches and a walking stick – but still I have totally no regrets for what happened.
“It was just where I was supposed to be and in many ways it’s one of the greatest things that ever happened to me because it gave a lot of power to my life.
“Being so close to death and living just makes all the important things in life that we all share in common like love and family, makes it more clear and that’s it.
“My decision to come to London on October 7th was the least that I could do. I can’t go back to combat duty anymore. These are historic times for us.”

THE Menendez brothers’ formidable former defense attorney, Leslie Abramson, has been seen for the first time amid the pair’s new fight for freedom.
The Menendez brothers’ former attorney, Leslie Abramson, has been seen for the first time in years in photos exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun[/caption]
Abramson, seen in their trial in 1994, claimed their father molested them, causing the sons to lash back out in a murderous rage[/caption]
The brothers alleged they were sexually abused by their father, Jose, and their mother, Kitty, turned a blind eye before they killed them with shotguns at their Beverly Hills home in 1989.
Prosecutors in California are now reviewing their first-degree murder convictions after a push from a new generation of true crime fans who feel they should have been convicted of manslaughter.
The U.S. Sun has obtained exclusive video and photographs of Leslie, who slammed the recent Netflix miniseries, Monsters, in which she was portrayed by actress Ari Graynor.
Leslie, now 81, was seen shopping and pumping gas near her home in Los Angeles and hit out at the drama.
Asked about the Monsters series, she said, “That piece of s**t that I heard about? I don’t watch any of those.
“I didn’t watch the last series, and I don’t watch any of the shows about it.”
When asked about the new push to free the brothers, she added, “I make no comments about my clients. None whatsoever. Attorney client privilege never dies.”
However, she did provide a comment on the new Netflix documentary in which Erik and Lyle speak from prison for the first time in years about the murders.
BRASH STYLE
In a statement to producers, Leslie said, “Thirty years is a long time. I’d like to leave the past in the past. No amount of media, nor teenage petitions will alter the fate of these clients. Only the court can do that and they have ruled.”
She declined to be interviewed for the one-hour, 58-minute documentary, simply titled ‘The Menendez Brothers.’
The first trial became an international spectacle, with Erik and Lyle breaking down in tears as they recalled the horrific abuse they allegedly dealt with at the hands of their powerful, wealthy father.
But after a mistrial was declared, their attorney Leslie was left incensed when the option of manslaughter was not available to jurors in the second trial and vital evidence and witnesses were not included.
Erik was unable to testify, and Lyle was left alone to take the stand and claim they feared for their lives and thought their parents were planning to kill them.
But there were only two options for the jury: first-degree murder or no crime committed, and they lost the case.
Footage of Leslie from the trial and speaking to the media outside of court is used in the new documentary, while she was praised in the new documentary.
One interviewee called her a “magnificent attorney” who gave all she had to try and keep the brothers out of jail.
A TV newsreader described her in the archive footage as an “tiny, brash, brainy woman” with an “in-your-face style.”
Another told viewers, “This 4 foot 11 little Orphan Annie lookalike is 104 pounds of pure dynamite!
“Her trademark audacity has helped her save a dozen people from death row.
“She’s one of the foremost criminal defense lawyers in the nation.”
The lawyer, seen in a different murder trial in 2007, refused to take part in the recent bombshell documentary The Menendez Brothers[/caption]
Abramson spoke with a photographer in Los Angeles and said she had no plans to watch documentaries about the brothers[/caption]

October 3, 2024: Los Angeles authorities reviewing new evidence in connection with the brothers’ convictions
October 7, 2024 – The Menendez Brothers documentary film comes out on Netflix
The brothers explained in the doc that they felt they were doomed from the start, as their second trial began just days after OJ Simpson was acquitted of murder, which resulted in a loss of confidence in the judicial system.
After the brothers were sentenced, Leslie wrote a book, The Defense Is Ready: Life in the Trenches of Criminal Law.
Leslie later stepped away from the limelight, and she has kept a low profile ever in recent years as the case made headlines once again.
She had a daughter from her first marriage and adopted a son with her second husband, Los Angeles Times reporter Tim Rutten.
He filed for divorce in June of 2007 but the pair remained close friends until he died in September 2022 after suffering a fall at his home in California.
According to the State Bar of California, Leslie’s legal license is no longer active. She is believed to be retired and living in a modest home near Pasadena.
Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon announced at a press conference this month that all evidence will be considered before deciding if the brothers should receive a new trial.
In the past two years, new evidence has emerged in the case.

Erik Menendez's letter to his cousin
A letter Erik Menendez reportedly wrote to his cousin about his dad's alleged abuse has sparked a review of the case that could set him and his brother free from jail. The letter reads in full:
“I’ve been trying to avoid dad. It’s still happening, Andy, but it’s worse for me now. I can’t explain it. He so overweight that I can’t stand to see him.
I never know when it’s going to happen and it’s driving me crazy. Every night I stay up thinking he might come in.
I need to put it out of my mind. I know what you said before but I’m afraid. You just don’t know dad like I do. He’s crazy!
He’s warned me a hundred times about telling anyone, especially Lyle.”
The brothers may also get a new sentence, if not a trial, but Gascon told reporters the decision would be his, and a hearing has been scheduled for November 29.
He said, “We have been given evidence. We have been given a photocopy of a letter that allegedly was sent by one of the brothers to another family member talking about him being the victim of molestation.
“We’ve also got evidence that was provided by the defense, by his lawyers, that one of the members of the Menudo band alleged that he was molested by the father.”
Gascon insisted, “None of this information has been confirmed.
“We are not at this point ready to say that we either believe or do not believe that information, but we’re here to tell you is that we have a moral and an ethical obligation to review what is being presented to us and make a determination based on a resentencing side, whether they deserve to be resentenced — even though they were clearly the murderers — because they have been in prison for years and they have paid back their dues to society.
“If there was evidence that was not presented to the court at that time, and had that evidence been presented, perhaps a jury would have come to a different conclusion.”
Kim Kardashian has written an essay that calls for the brothers to be freed, as reported by NBC News.
She claimed the brothers are not monsters but intelligent and honest men.
Kardashian, who met the brothers last month at a prison near San Diego, doesn’t believe that the sentencing is the right punishment.
“Had this crime been committed and trialed today, I believe the outcome would have been dramatically different,” she wrote.
“We owe it to those little boys who lost their childhoods, who never had a chance to be heard, helped or saved.”

Worthy scored another touchdown, a three-yard rush, taking his total to four already in his first season.
The 21-year-old sprinted to the stands after reaching the end zone, to find his mom Nicky Jones.
The glamorous 39-year-old instantly turned the heads of ESPN’s Monday Night Football viewers after the touching moment.
She was wearing a replica Worthy Chiefs jersey, along with hoop earrings and long pink nails.
Nicky saw she was on the giant screen in the stadium and on TVs at home after grabbing the ball.
She looked up and cheekily gave the crowd a grin with her tongue sticking out.
And fans fell in love with her, mistaking the stunning mom with Worthy’s girlfriend.
One X user said: “Oh boy everyone finna be in love with his mom now.”
Another added: “Everybody’s gonna love her.”
A viewer replied: “Get him another catch please.”
And one said: “That was amazing, glad to see other family members get TV time.”
A fifth commented: “Here for all the “let me be your step dad” jokes.”
After the touchdown was scored, ESPN reporter Lisa Salters revealed how Worthy told how his mom is his “best friend”.
Chiefs injury crisis
Patrick Mahomes lost another offensive weapon to injury in the Week 4 win in Los Angeles
The Chiefs saw wide receiver Rashee Rice taken off on the back of a medical cart at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Kansas City was already without free agency signing wide receiver Hollywood Brown (shoulder) and starting running back Isiah Pacheco (fractured fibula).
Both are set to miss large parts of the 2024 NFL season.
Speaking after Sunday’s win over the LA Chargers sent them to 4-0, Mahomes said, “All we can do now is go back to the basics and try to get guys opportunities to succeed.
“The guys stepped up and filled in as good as they can the role that Rice has in our offense, which is a big one.”
She is understood to have had Worthy when she was 18-years-old, and raised him in Fresno, California.
He has claimed in the past how the pair are more like brother and sister than mom and son.
Worthy also told how much she means to him, and how she has been there through his entire career.
Nicky was celebrating her birthday at the Chiefs game as well, in further family celebrations.
Worthy signed a $13.79m, four year contract, after being drafted at No28 out of Texas in the summer.
And he has spoken of his joy in being able to now look after his mom, who has two other children, with the money he makes.

LOVE Island USA star Hannah Smith has been arrested in Georgia for making alleged terroristic threats.
The U.S. Sun can exclusively confirm Hannah, 26, was arrested on September 30 for terroristic threats and acts, and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer in Cobb County, Georgia.
She was released from Cobb County Jail on $8,000 bond, according to court records.
In her mugshot, viewed by The U.S. Sun, she appeared to scowl in the photo.
The arrest hasn’t deterred Hannah from posting on social media, as she posted a lingerie photo on October 7.
Her goofy personality made her a fan favorite among viewers.
TIME IN THE VILLA
Hannah, who is from North Carolina, initially coupled up with Kendall Washington.
She was unable to form a connection during her time in the Villa, as she was the first woman eliminated early in the season.
She also got to know Hakeem White during her time on the show.
When Hannah, picked Hakeem in a challenge over Kendall, their relationship hit a rough patch.
Hannah told Today after her elimination, “So the challenge is really kind of what set it off. So how the challenge went is us girls went in and we were like, ‘We’re not going to choose our couple. This is funny. We’re not taking anything personal.’ And it was so different for the guys. The guys took it so personal.
“They were all so pissed. And when we went back to the villa after the challenge I had a chat with Kendall, and he just was not having it. He’s like, ‘You just basically slapped me in the face twice. I just have a wall up now with you … I want to take a step back and kind of just figure it out.’”
Hannah continued, “And I just feel like after he took a step back, things just didn’t progress back to how they were in the beginning. So I feel like after that, everything just slowly started dying out. And then obviously Nicole came in and Nicole kind of shook it up.
“We talked to each other, and we’re like, ‘I think we’re better off just as friends.’ And he told me, he’s like, ‘I really want you to find someone. I’m rooting for you always.’ So we didn’t leave on bad terms. We’re still really good friends. I’m rooting for him, as well.”
Kendall Washington ended up coming in fourth with Nicole Jacky, who he broke up with shortly after the finale.
