Luke Littler crashes OUT of World Grand Prix Darts in thrilling tie after falling to Rob Cross

LUKE LITTLER couldn’t watch as Rob Cross sent him crashing out of the World Grand Prix.

The 17-year-old turned away from the board as his practice buddy hit the bullseye to KO him 2-1 on his debut in Leicester.

‘The Nuke’ never looked in red-hot form and lost the opening set because of poor doubles despite hitting four sizzling 180s.

Littler levelled it up in sets but in the decider Cross needed 88 to finish the job and sealed it with a perfect bullseye.

It was only a third win at the GP for Cross after seven previous appearances.

The teen sensation has now lost in his opening match of both the last major trophies after losing to Michael van Gerwen in the Matchplay in July.

World No.4 ‘Voltage’ said: “He’s on the crest of a wave still and playing brilliantly all year. He’s picked up trophies regularly. He’s a phenomenon.

“The boy is absolutely mustard which makes it a big result for me. I’ve been shocking in this tournament in the past but my double-starts were brilliant tonight.

“Luke has been different class all year and has beaten me more and he’ll be back, that’s for sure.

“This is a great win and well overdue in the Grand Prix. But it’s up to me to keep it going. This win means nothing unless I get on a decent run and go all the way.”

Luke Humphries came back from the dead to keep his World Grand Prix defence alive.

The World Champ was staring defeat in the face as Stephen Bunting missed a match dart to whitewash him with six successive legs.

However ‘Cool Hand’ hit double nine to survive and came back to win 2-1 in a thriller.

Meanwhile, Cross faces Martin Schindler next.

Dak Prescott in record ‘that’ll never to be seen again’ after unwanted feat in Steelers game across two different days

DALLAS Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott led his team to a Sunday Night Football victory, but he was on the wrong side of history.

The NFL Pro Bowler was part of an unusual feat in two different days as he also guided Dallas to a primetime 20-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5.

Before the Sunday night game, a thunderstorm hit Pittsburgh which caused the contest to be delayed.

The originally scheduled start time of 8:20 pm Eastern was pushed to a start time of 9:45 pm.

Prescott finished the contest with 352 passing yards and two touchdowns along with two interceptions.

The Cowboys star’s first touchdown and interception took place on Sunday.

Due to the weather delay, Prescott’s second interception happened in the early hours of Monday.

He became the first quarterback to throw an interception on two different days of the same game week, causing fans to say he achieved a record “that’ll never be seen again.”

Fortunately for Prescott, he was on the right side of history in the touchdown department.

He also threw a touchdown pass on two different days in the same game – the first to ever accomplish that feat.

Prescott’s first touchdown came early in the fourth quarter which gave Dallas the lead.

The second score was the game-winner with 20 seconds remaining.

Prescott finished the night by completing 29 of 42 passes for 352 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

He also had a fumble and his second interception almost cost the Cowboys the victory.

The first interception was also not in the vicinity of his intended target, CeeDee Lamb, and was placed into the arms of cornerback Donte Jackson.

Prescott’s pass caused Lamb to seem disappointed and was seen mouthing words to his quarterback.

The pass was nowhere near the star wideout and landed right in the arms of cornerback Donte Jackson.

The game ended close to 1 am which was the longest day of NFL football in history.

Still, Dallas improved to 3-2 for the season while the Steelers now have the same record.

The Cowboys will face the Detroit Lions in Week 6.

And Pittsburgh will take on the Las Vegas Raiders next Sunday.

Americans divided over age you should watch first horror film – some insist getting scared as a kid is a rite of passage

IF your interest in horror started when you were a kid, chances are you still can’t get enough.

A survey of 2,000 U.S. adults who celebrate Halloween revealed that more than two-thirds (68%) of Americans polled enjoyed horror movies as children, and that number still holds strong at 73% today.

About two-thirds of respondents saw their first horror movie before they were 11 years old[/caption]

In fact, almost two-thirds (65%) saw their first horror movie before they were 11 years old, and another 60% agree that watching your first scary movie at a slumber party is a right of passage.

However, as adults, supernatural and paranormal movies (43%), psychological thrillers (40%), and slasher flicks (30%) tend to be fan favorites.

A vast majority (84%) of respondents agree that scary movies are a staple of the Halloween season.

During the “spooky season,” Americans average watching five different scary movies, though 23% will enjoy 10 or more.

Almost half (46%) indulge in scary movies to get themselves into “spooky season mode,” while 43% will give themselves a fright for the sake of tradition.

Still, almost one-third (29%) admit that horror is their favorite genre, no matter the season.

Conducted by Talker Research on behalf of HI-CHEW, the survey aimed to create Halloween profiles based on participants’ scary tolerance levels.

Results revealed that 19% consider themselves to be “gore hounds” or those who seek out as much horror and blood as possible.

These respondents also enjoyed a higher level of frights and fears than their peers as children (85%) and are most likely to enjoy gummy Halloween candy (34%).

“Kitch-y classic Carls” prefer the usual flicks and some B-grade horror (10%) and fruity candy (23%), while “Ghostbusters” (22%) find joy in all things paranormal and were the second most horror fans as children (78%).

“Family-friendly Frans” (30%), on the other hand, tend to opt for flicks that the whole family can enjoy, and most enjoy the Halloween tradition of going trick or treating (54%).

“Scared-y cats” prefer as little horror as possible. Only 36% of those respondents enjoyed scary movies as children, and only 34% enjoy them today.

“Many respondents (23%) say that their favorite Halloween tradition is sharing their favorite parts of the holiday that they enjoyed as a child with their family today,” said Teruhiro Kawabe (Terry), Chief Representative for the USA & President, CEO of Morinaga America, Inc.

What snacks go best with a scary movie?

AMERICANS shared their favorite snacks to enjoy while watching a spooky film in a new poll.

  • Popcorn (61%)
  • Chips (47%)
  • Pizza (44%)
  • Bowl of candy (71%)

“Whether you enjoy watching scary movies or look forward to trick-or-treating, the Halloween season can bring families together with movies, traditions, candy, and more.”

Regardless of their horror tolerance, a majority of Americans believe that the best parts of Halloween are going trick or treating or giving out candy to trick-or-treaters (55%), watching scary movies (54%) and decorating their homes (50%).

More than half (54%) even admit that their scary movie preferences reflect in their Halloween decor choices.

Another thing Americans can agree on is that scary movies are best enjoyed with a snack, such as popcorn (61%), chips (47%) and pizza (44%).

Seven in 10 (71%) are also likely to opt for a bowl of candy to complement their Halloween movie-viewing experience.

The majority (77%) prefer individually wrapped candy compared to loose-leaf (15%).

In fact, it takes an average of just 43 minutes into a movie before the candy bowl needs to be restocked.

According to the results, family-friendly Halloween flicks pair best with gummy candy (21%), while paranormal and supernatural content should be enjoyed while eating something chocolatey (37%).

Fruit candy is best with animated horror movies (20%), and if a slasher movie is on the screen, Americans are most likely to enjoy Halloween-themed candy (18%), such as gummy spiders or chocolate eyeballs.

“Halloween and candy go hand-in-hand, and there are a variety of candy options to choose from to satisfy all preferences during the season,” said Kawabe.

“Whether you prefer chewy, fruity, sour or gummy candy, you can’t go wrong with a mix of your favorites during the holiday festivities.”

Klum, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Halloween” according to her Instagram bio, shared a picture of her squinting her eyes and stretching her fingers.

“There’s a clue here but I just can’t put my finger on it…,” the A-lister captioned the post, tagging special effects designer Mike Marino.

Two mysterious flesh-colored knobs are seen peeking out at the bottom of the picture, joining the other creepy hints that Klum has shared on Instagram in the past month.

With a nod to her finger, a picture of an eyeball, and a quick video of a slimy, gray, material, people think that the model is dressing up as the alien ET, from Steven Spielberg’s iconic 1982 movie ET The Extra-Terrestrial.

Fans swarmed to social media to share their guesses at the costume, which will debut at her annual Halloween party on October 31.

“.. Phone Home,” one X user wrote, referencing an iconic line from the movie.

“E.T.???” another added.

“Omg moo deng or E.T,” another guessed, referencing the recently-viral pygmy hippo.

“If she’s also wearing her clue, then based on what she said and them feet, I bet she’s gonna be ET. But she’s surprised me every year,” one fan speculated.

“surprised shes never done ET,” another wrote.

Multiple social media users responded to Klum’s post on X with gifs or pictures of the beloved character, who has glowing fingers.

Other X users shared their excitement for Klum’s costume as the star is known for going over the top with her celebrations.

“Always excited to see what creative twist Heidi has in store for Halloween!” one wrote.

“Can’t wait to see what she comes up with! Heidi always nails Halloween!” a second said.

Why school choice could deliver Trump the swing states

Former President Donald Trump promoted school choice at his campaign stop in deep-blue Milwaukee last week. This was a smart move.
