MEGA Millions has promised players some significant changes next year.
The lottery game is one of the most popular and lucrative in the United States, with several jackpot wins in its history of over $1 billion.
Starting in April 2025, there’ll be even more “enhancements” for players to help them win just as big, per a Monday press release.
Joshua Johnston, Lead Director of the Mega Millions Consortium, said he hopes the update will further excite Americans to play.
“We are creating a game that both our existing players and people new to Mega Millions will love and get excited about playing,” Johnston noted in the release.
“We expect more billion-dollar jackpots than ever before, meaning creating more billionaires and many more millionaires as the jackpots climb, plus this game will continue the important legacy of supporting great causes everywhere Mega Millions is played.”
Since the last changes made to the game in 2017, Mega Millions claims to make around three Americans millionaires per week on average.
Mega Millions emphasized eight crucial benefits of the newest “mega overhaul.”
First, players would have improved odds to win jackpots.
The current odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are about one in 302 million.
It’s unclear exactly how Mega Millions intends to prove those numbers, but mathematicians have disagreed on whether there’s a way players can improve chances on their own.
The lottery game also said it would implement “bigger jackpots more frequently” and have “larger starting jackpots,” per the release.
Those jackpots would also grow faster than before, further improving the value of what players can win in 2025.
Of the improvements, one of the most interesting for players is a new built-in multiplier included for every play.
Mega Millions said the multiplier will be “automatically improving every non-jackpot win by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or [even] 10X.”
Those who match all five white balls can now win up to $10 million as well, starting in April 2025.

That means any win will always make the player more than the cost of the ticket.

THIS is the horrifying moment a shotgun-wielding woman storms into a children’s hospital claiming she has a bomb.
Concerning footage shows the woman, identified as 45-year-old Birgul G, terrifying staff at the Necip Fazil City Hospital in Turkey as she threatens to open fire.
Birgul G entered the Women’s and Children’s Department in the Kahramanmaras medical facility late on Saturday, October 5.
Doctors and nurses can be seen hiding under tables in fear as the woman enters with the shotgun and points it at the workers.
She can be heard screaming at people trying to calm her down with a police report after the horror ordeal saying she claimed she had a bomb on her.
Police found she had a paper bag on her which was where she said the bomb was planted.
When officers checked they found no bomb or explosive device in the bag or on her possessions.
The footage was filmed by a trembling woman inside the hospital who was forced to hide behind a chair and medical table.
Security guards arrived swiftly and managed to subdue the woman before handing her to cops who took her to the local station for questioning.
No one was injured in the incident.
Birgul G told cops she didn’t intend on harming anyone despite the threats and having the powerful weapon on her.
She instead claimed it was a cry for help after years of abuse from her drug-addicted son.
On the day of the ordeal she says she was feeling unwell and chose the hospital because it was nearby to her home.
Birgul G said in her police statement, according to news site Artigercek: “I could not stand my son’s torture any longer.
“I had no intention of harming anyone. I did not go to shoot anyone.
“I went to the hospital thinking that if someone saw the gun in my hand, they might kill me.”
The woman was later charged with “threat” and “deprivation of liberty”.
She is still being held in custody but is expected to be sent to prison in the coming days.

The Kahramanmaras Governor’s Office released a statement on the scary situation saying: “A 1979-born Turkish citizen named B.G., who attempted an attack inside the hospital by claiming that there was a bomb device in the package she was holding, was subdued by the security forces who arrived at the scene.
“It was determined through observation by the teams that the paper bag mentioned by the individual was empty and visible from the outside.
“In the investigation and her statement, it was revealed that she was receiving psychiatric treatment and did not feel well.
“Stating that her intention was to harm herself and that she chose the hospital because it was close to her residence.
“No citizens or healthcare workers were harmed in the hospital due to the incident.”
Dr. Lütfi Tiyekli, the President of the Kahramanmaraş Medical Chamber, did say some of the staff were left seriously affected by the evening.
He said on Saturday: “Today, violence in healthcare was narrowly avoided at Kahramanmaraş Children’s Hospital.
“We can’t understand what happened, but all of our colleagues are very scared, they are in a very bad condition, we are trying to understand the incident.”
THE search for a 27-year-old woman who went missing while horseback riding has intensified after deputies located her horse and cell phone.
Meghan Rouns was last seen leaving her home in Helena, Montana, at about 2 pm on October 4 and headed to the McMaster Hills Recreation Area to go horseriding.
However, by 8 pm, Rouns’ family grew concerned when she had not returned home.
Rouns’ father quickly reported his daughter missing to the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies launched a search effort on the site where Rouns’ cell phone last pinged.
Investigators said Rouns was last active on social media at around 4:20 pm on Friday when she uploaded a photo on her Snapchat account.
Rouns’ truck was found parked at a trailhead in the McMaster Hills Recreation area, Sheriff Captain Brian Robinson said.
On Saturday, a search crew located Rouns’ horse up the hill from Hauser Lake, where her cell phone’s GPS pinged, according to NBC affiliate KTVH-TV.
“Her horse was found just up the hill from the lake, so this has become our primary area to search from the evidence we have gathered,” Willy Wegner, the operations lieutenant of Lewis and Clark County Search and Rescue, told the outlet.
“As we search areas, the more we search it, the lower probability the area becomes, so then we will move to another area.”
Rouns’ cell phone was also found in a saddle bag, the outlet reported.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The U.S. Sun.
Her horse was found just up the hill from the lake, so this has become our primary area to search from the evidence we have gathered.

Several police agencies have assisted the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office in its search for Rouns.

A robotic-operated vehicle and divers were seen combing the waters, according to KTVH-TV.
Family members of Rouns expressed their gratitude toward Lewis and Clark County deputies for their tireless effort.
“We can’t express enough appreciation for the search efforts and resources out at the site,” a relative of Rouns wrote on Facebook.
“A huge thank you to Lewis & County Sheriff’s Office, Leo Dutton, and Lewis & Clark Search & Rescue for the coordination of the search.
“It has been a non stop effort to find Meghan. We also want to say thank to members of the community who have brought food and drinks out or offered their help in any way. The love and support shows how incredible our community is.”
Rouns was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, and possibly a gray hoodie and baseball cap.
