2 days agoUSA UpdateComments Off on Silent Hill 2 is a huge success and the studio says it won’t make bad games anymore
SILENT Hill 2 is one of the biggest releases of the month, and it was hugely popular with fans and critics alike.
It has a huge 86 rating on review aggregate site Metacritic, and people love the changes that were made to the already excellent original.
People loved the character design of the first trailer[/caption]
The trailer was mostly cutscenes but people liked what they saw[/caption]
Cronos: The New Dawn features the over the shoulder camera from Silent Hill 2[/caption]
Doubts were cast about the quality of the remake after Konami announced that Bloober Team would be in charge.
Bloober Team is a Polish studio known for making horror games of varying quality, and people were worried about leaving such a gaming classic in its hands.
Games from Bloober Team have never been terrible, but with ratings between 60 and 75, they never achieved excellence.
That is until SIlent Hill 2, and people were excited to see a new game from Bloober Team during the Xbox Partner Preview.
Cronos: The New Dawn is the next game by Bloober Team, and people are encouraged by Silent Hill 2’s success.
While they are both horror games, Cronos has a completely different look to the recently released remake.
Speaking to GameSpot, director Wojciech Piejko said the two games are: “different pizzas with different toppings both delicious.”
Cronos will be the studio’s first original survival horror IP as it’s not based on an existing game.
The Silent Hill 2 remake had an incredible game at its base, and fans are still cautious about how good Bloober original game would be.
But Bloober Team says it’s going to stick to its strengths, and deliver a game just as good as the Konami remake.
Director Jacek Zięba says that the studio will stick to making horror games to make sure they are strong going forward.
He says: “We want to be a horror company. We want to find our niche, and we think we found our niche, so now we just evolve with it.
“And how that happens is more complex, but it also happens organically in a way, like with Layers of Fear, people in the studio were like, ‘Okay, we made some s****y games before, but we evolve’.”
Piejko adds “We gathered a team that loves horror, so I think, for us, it would not be easy to switch [to other genres], and we don’t want to.”
Bloob or bust
We were impressed by the teaser trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn. The character designs and concepts felt fresh and interesting.
It’s a smart move by Bloober Team to stick to its strengths by building on the momentum from its last successful release.
We haven’t seen any gameplay yet, so it’s too early to tell if the core of the game will be strong enough to carry it.
Bloober is saying all the right things, but we won’t be able to see if it has turned things around until people have their hands on Cronos.
If you want to read more about Bloober’s last release, check out our Silent Hill 2 review.

After the One Direction star sadly died, Danielle revealed that he had given his “blessing” to her new relationship.
In a heartfelt tribute to Liam, she wrote: “Receiving a message from you a couple of weeks ago expressing your happiness for the love I found with Sonny and Mia is something I’ll cherish forever.”
Before meeting Danielle, Sonny was engaged to Lauren Faith.
However, the pair split in 2022, after she moved to LA to focus on her career.
An insider told us at the time: “Sonny and Lauren have called off the wedding.
“It’s been a busy time for both of them since Sonny won Dancing on Ice and Lauren’s music producing started taking off.
“They’re both determined to focus on their careers and were struggling to make the long-distance work as Lauren spent months in Los Angeles, while Sonny worked in London.
“They both want a fresh start and have wiped each other off of their social media pages.”
Sonny and Danielle are parents to baby Mia[/caption]
Baby joy
In May 2024, Sonny and Danielle welcomed a daughter together, Mia.
Announcing their baby news, they both posted: “And then there were 3…She’s here and she’s perfect.”
Speaking about becoming a dad, Sonny told Thortful: “It’s surprised me how Danielle and I have just kicked into being parents. I find it so odd how one day you’re not a parent and then suddenly you’ve just got this massive responsibility.
“The only thing genuinely that I found so difficult is being up in the night feeding.
“Doing a night feed and not falling asleep – I’m literally shaking my head trying to do everything.
“Scrolling on TikTok just to keep my eyes open, I’ve found that hard.
“I would say that’s the hardest part of it so far.”

A PHONE ping has led cops to find skeletal remains at a waste plant after a student passed out in a rubbish bin.
Murder cops are searching for the student, but believe her death was an accident[/caption]
Cops now believe skeletal remains found at the Son Reus waste treatment plant could be Medina’s[/caption]
Cops believe Medina might have dropped her phone in the bin causing her to climb inside (file photo)[/caption]
But the Spaniard is now feared dead after she “voluntarily climbed inside one of the rubbish containers and lost consciousness”, Majorca Daily Bulletin reported.
That bin was then collected by a lorry – with cops searching for her body at the landfill site where the truck’s contents were burned.
Investigators have now found skeletal remains and have sent them to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Palma to confirm whether they are Medina’s.
Medina’s mobile phone data was used to reconstruct her movements.
The student was last seen just before midnight on October 2 when she left friends she was drinking with.
Police believe she was waiting for a bus around midnight to head home to Palma Nova, southwest of the main city.
Cops have been able to rule out that she ever got on the bus, instead thinking she climbed into the bin.
They believe she could have dropped her phone in with the trash, climbed in after it, and fell unconscious.
Tragically, a witness was waiting for a bus shortly before her death and noticed her handbag placed neatly next to the container but thought nothing more of it.
Just after midnight on October 3, a lorry collected the rubbish bin with Medina inside.
The witness, who was at the bus stop at 12:12 am, reportedly did not hear her call for help or scream before the binmen arrived at 12:27 am to empty the bin.
The investigating homicide cops say it is “impossible to survive inside a rubbish truck”.
The truck, loaded with seven tonnes of rubbish, delivered its load at 2am where the mobile phone gave its last ping.
National Police have since been searching through 15,000 tonnes of waste in the Son Reus incinerator plant.
Cops’ hypothesis is that the alcohol Medina had drunk mixed with her medication, causing her to lose consciousness.
One pal’s mother said she was doing “everything I can” to help find Medina.
Natalia Rodríguez said: “My daughter Malén was a close friend of Agostina’s sister and, as it is normal, that she also had links with her, despite the fact that Malén was a little older.”
Missing mum-of-three, 45, who suddenly disappeared tragically found dead under pile of rubbish in garden
By Ethan Singh, News Reporter
A MUM-of-three who suddenly disappeared was found dead under a pile of rubbish in a garden, an inquest heard.
Kelly Louise Randall, 45, was last seen on May 3, 2022, and her partner reported her missing two days later on May 5.
Cops launched a search for the mum, but she was initially categorised as a low-risk missing person, despite her being a wheelchair user due to a leg amputation.
Six days after her disappearance, her risk level was upgraded to medium, prompting police to search her Swansea home, check local hospitals and review CCTV footage.
Upon learning that Kelly’s wheelchair had been spotted outside a property in Clas y Deri, in the Waunarlwydd area of Swansea, the police concentrated their search efforts there.
Alfred Millman, the homeowner, allowed officers into his property where they found a wheelchair in one of the bedrooms and blood stains on a jumper, mattress, bed sheet, and bedframe.
A mound of rubbish and debris at the back of the Welsh property caught the attention of additional officers called to the scene.
Amongst the debris, an officer spotted clothing, a trainer, and what seemed to be a human arm.
Kelly’s body was tragically discovered and Mr Millman was promptly arrested on suspicion of her murder.
However, DC Minto told the inquest that there was “no evidence found to suggest that Kelly’s death was suspicious”.
She had been visiting friends and was trying to return home[/caption]

2 days agoUSA UpdateComments Off on Jerod Mayo already under huge pressure at New England Patriots with tensions sky high and ‘talk of him being fired’
JEROD Mayo is under increasing pressure at the New England Patriots and could be axed before the end of the season following a nightmare start to his coaching career, a front office source has told The U.S. Sun.
The former Pats star had the unenviable task of stepping into the shoes of six-time Super Bowl-winning legend Bill Belichick after 24 glorious years in the hot seat.
New England Patriots front office members are growing antsy with Jerod Mayo[/caption]
Mayo has a 1-6 record in his first season with the Patriots[/caption]
But a torrid 1-6 start— which includes a shocking six-game losing streak following a weekend thumping in London at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars – has seen the former linebacker begin to lose the locker room as faith from the front office starts to wane.
The Pats insider, who spoke anonymously, told The U.S. Sun about his “frustration” with the current situation and the “pretty pathetic” performances so far this campaign.
Mayo vowed to make the changes before the trip across the pond, but the pain continued, and our source says time is running out.
He says cliques threaten to rip the roster apart, and complaints are already being made to the owners.
“Our team is unbalanced, the coaching decisions so far seem very off with what we have in our roster, and we have players complaining that the chemistry is not there,” moaned the source.
“There is high scrutiny with coach Mayo. He isn’t getting a grip and finding solutions to make things go well so far.”
Owner Robert Kraft always knew losing a football genius like Belichick, who agreed to stand down at the end of last season, would be a struggle.
Yet there are already mounting fears that the situation will get even worse for the rookie coach, who, according to the source, is crumbling under “maximum pressure.”
“Some people involved with the franchise doubt that he will be able to turn things around,” he continued.
“The locker room is broken, and there is maximum pressure on him as some want him out ASAP, as the team hasn’t improved and plays bad football.”
Mayo, 38, enjoyed an impressive NFL career but was installed first as a defensive coordinator and then head coach with no experience—and it’s starting to show.
Some New England fans believe the franchise has never been the same since star quarterback Tom Brady left in 2020.
Mayo has preached about patience, but the future is uncertain with escalating tensions.
“Some say he wasn’t ready, some say he can’t be a head coach, he can’t be the team leader as he doesn’t have the leadership and personality to unite a group of players,” the front office insider said.
“Tensions are very high, our defense has been horrible, and we have shown almost nothing positive since the beginning of the season, so there are big doubts about Mayo being the right man for the job.”
NFL head coach annual salaries
1. Andy Reid - Chiefs - $20 million
2. Sean Payton – Broncos – $18 million
=3. Mike Tomlin – Steelers – $16 million
=3. Jim Harbaugh – Chargers – $16 million
5. Sean McVay – Rams – $15 million
6. Kyle Shanahan – 49ers – $14 million
7. John Harbaugh – Ravens – $12 million
=8. Dan Campbell – Lions – $11 million
=8. Sean McDermott – Bills – $11 million
10. Mike MacDonald – Seahawks – $10 million
Mayo still has 10 more weeks to prove he is the right man for the job, but there isn’t any indication that the Patriots will improve against any of their upcoming oponnents.

TOTO WOLFF slammed F1 stewards’ decision to award George Russell a penalty as a “total joke” before watching Max Verstappen get away with the same thing later on.
The Mercedes chief was heard fuming over the radio to Russell – who recovered to P6 following a pit lane start – as he was awarded a five-second penalty for running Valtteri Bottas off track.

Toto Wolff slammed the ‘inconsistent’ decisions made by F1 stewards during the US GP[/caption]
George Russell was hit with a five-second penalty for pushing Valtteri Bottas off track at Turn 12[/caption]
But Max Verstappen did not receive a penalty when he forced Lando Norris off track in the same spot[/caption]
Norris received a five-second penalty for going off track and gaining an advantage[/caption]
Wolff said of the steward’s verdict on the radio when the penalty was awarded: “Total joke with the penalty George, total joke.”
However, on lap 52 of the race, championship leader Verstappen appeared to run himself and title rival Lando Norris off the track at Turn 12 as he went up the inside to try and stay ahead at the apex.
The move forced both drivers off track before Norris re-entered the circuit ahead of the Dutchman.
However, F1 stewards then handed the McLaren driver a five-second penalty for gaining an advantage, which reinstated Verstappen in P3 at the end of the race.
Wolff, 52, took issue with the incident given how Russell was punished for a similar move.
On the cool-down lap, Wolff was once again heard speaking to Russell, 26, who asked whether Verstappen had received a penalty.
He replied: “No, he didn’t get a penalty and at the end Lando got a penalty for being forced off and overtaking on the outside.
“I guess it’s a bit biased decision-making but not surprising.”

A similar incident at Turn One in the first lap had allowed Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to sweep into the lead – before going on to win the race – with Verstappen forcing Norris off track to avoid a collision.
Earlier in the race Verstappen had been forced off track himself by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz at Turn 12 who had run deep, though once again no penalty was awarded for the incident.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the race, Wolff added: “It’s inconsistent. With Valtteri [Bottas] it wasn’t even a race.
“Yesterday [Saturday Sprint race] we’ve seen a few of those incidents which were exactly the same that weren’t penalised, racing for real positions actually.
“Receiving that penalty is completely odd and bizarre. I think we know why but obviously I can’t say that on television.”
F1 reporter Isabelle Barker's prediction
I EXPECT Max Verstappen to go all guns blazing over the next six-rounds. I also think his experience and aggression could give him the edge.
It seems too little too late for Norris showing consistency, despite that dominant win in Singapore last time out.
You can’t help think what could have been had he sorted out his first-lap issues sooner.
Norris needs to prove he has the mental fortitude, because we all know he’s got the speed, the team and the fastest car.
Verstappen has endured an eight-race winless streak, but he has still managed to score points, with three second-places during that time.
So I think the Dutchman will lift his fourth world-title this season, by the skin of his teeth.
In his own interview about the incident with the broadcaster, Norris said: “They obviously can’t make their minds up for a few laps. It’s not an easy decision otherwise it would have come a bit sooner.
“I tried. He also went off the track. If he’s gone off the track clearly he’s gone in way too hard and also gained an advantage by doing what he did. But I don’t make the rules, so.”
On the other hand, Verstappen accused McLaren of complaining a lot.
The feature and sprint race results this weekend saw the gap in the driver’s championship widen to 57 points.
F1 heads to Mexico next week as the second race in a triple header.
