The Voice is ‘more like pro wrestling than a real talent competition’ as longtime show now focuses on ‘viral moments’

SINGING competition show The Voice has become “more like pro wrestling” as the longtime show now focuses on viral moments instead of “real talent.”

Season 26 of The Voice stars coaches Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg and Michael Buble.

An insider revealed the show has been focusing on the nostalgia of the celebrity coaches as opposed to finding talent[/caption]

Viewers flood social media to discuss the coaches instead of the singers[/caption]

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal the NBC competition show has changed from its goal of discovering new talent, an insider has claimed.

A source told The U.S. Sun, “The Voice has more in common with pro wrestling than a legitimate talent competition at this point.

“It’s about seeing famous personalities from back in the day mix it up and show unexpected sides of themselves,” the insider said of the coaches. “It’s a little sad that it’s not a place to see future pop stars anymore.

“But even on this diminished scale, it can still make money and still get people talking. There’s a reason it’s lasted this long, and it’s the vibrant mix of hosts, not the contestants.”

The insider continued, “It’s becoming a bit of a ‘Dancing With the Stars’-style project filled with nostalgia for the recent pop culture past.

“Nobody’s turning on the show to discover a future pop star anymore. The format has evolved past that, and that’s reflected in this updated cast.”

The source added, “This show is about hanging out for an hour a week with the huge artists you grew up with, and nobody is pretending that isn’t the reason people are tuning in!”

VIEWERS’ VOICE

On The Voice’s Instagram page, fans have admitted to tuning in to see the coaches instead of the contestants.

One commenter said of Snoop Dogg, “Every time I watch The Voice, I love you more and more. You have always rep’d the best of our generation. Even my 94 year old Grandma stays up to watch, ‘The Snoopy’ LOL.”

Another viewer wrote, “I’ve been watching since the first season. This is the best group of coaches ever. Snoop is already hilarious.

“Snoop and Reba a combo I never knew I needed in my life. I have loved Gwen for years. And Buble is fantastic. Please keep these four!”

A third commented, “You started the night off with a BANG #snoopdogg. You are the BEST!!!

“Love your spirit and you have made The Voice so much FUN to watch this year!!!!”

There are very few comments about the actual contestants on the show.

MILLION-DOLLAR CONTRACTS

And the show is likely paying the coaches millions of dollars to sign on.

The Voice coaches for Season 27

On June 5, 2024, it was revealed which four well-known musical acts would take a seat in the spinning coaches chair next year.

In a video shared on The Voice‘s official social media accounts, they shared videos from the Season 27 coaches.

Adam Levine

Adam was one of the original coaches during Season 1 of the reality TV series alongside Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera.

The singer is most known for his role as the frontman of pop music group Maroon 5.

Kelsea Ballerini

The Grammy-award nominated artist will join The Voice in 2025.

However, during Season 20, she filled in for coach Kelly Clarkson.

John Legend

Returning coach John has been on the show since Season 16 in 2019.

The R&B singer, also married to Chrissy Teigen, was on the show during Season 12 as an advisor.

Michael Bublé

Michael will be joining The Voice during Season 26 and will continue his role as a coach during Season 27.

In the fall, he will sit alongside Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Gwen Stefani.

The U.S. Sun previously reported Reba was paid around $13 million for Season 25.

John Legend and Gwen also reportedly made $13 million for the seasons they appeared on.

John Legend, Michael Buble, Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini have been announced as the coaches for Season 27.

Price is Right host Drew Carey left stunned after contestant wins thousands in ‘hardest’ and ‘most-hated’ segment

PRICE is Right host Drew Carey was left stunned after a contestant won thousands in the “hardest” and “most-hated” segment of the show.

The famous game show returned to CBS last month and was back for another episode last night.

CBS
Price is Right contestant Paris defied the odds and won a difficult segment of the show[/caption]

Paris was thrilled with his big win[/caption]

However, host Drew was left with his jaw dropped when contestant Paris won a huge pile of cash on the dreaded Time is Money game.

The game sees the contestant shown five grocery items, and they are given just ten seconds to place each of the items on one of the three shelves based on their prices.

Last night, saw Paris compete in Time is Money, but fail in the first round.

Due to the game being notoriously hard, he was given a second shot.

This saw him rearrange the items, while the prize pot went down until he got the right prices.

However, host Drew was left stunned when he scooped $8K before the jackpot hit zero.

Despite Paris’ big win, some fans took to social media to slam how difficult bosses have made the game – after reducing the time from 20 seconds to ten.

One commented, “This game is virtually impossible to win. I think I have seen one or two people EVER win.”

While this one added, “First time I ever seen someone win this game, it’s uber difficult!”

Another said, “It’s been a long time since I seen somebody win this game and $8000 A Real Nice Win!”

COMING UP THIS SEASON

Before the new series of The Price is Right kicked off last month, CBS revealed what would be in store this season.

A commemorative 10,000th episode will air in February 2025.

There will also be specially-themed holiday episodes and a “redemption episode,” in which former contestants compete for another chance at major prizes.

Additionally, the season will commemorate James O’Halloran’s 10th anniversary on the show, after the model joined in 2014.

The Price is Right Hosts

The Price is Right first came on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on for over 50 years. Throughout that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.

Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)

Drew Carey – October 2007 to present

Dennis James – filled in for Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also hosted the nighttime version

Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools Day Special

SCHEDULE CHANGE BACKLASH

Fans also recently complained about the schedule change for the new season after it was revealed that nighttime episodes would be moved from Wednesdays to Mondays.

The switch raised concerns that Monday Night Football would affect future episodes due to frequent delays and overtime.

The Price is Right again faced backlash when the show didn’t acknowledge the one-year anniversary of its former host Bob Barker’s death on its social media accounts.

Bob died on August 26, 2023, at 99 years old.

He hosted the show for 35 years before retiring in 2008 and passing his microphone to Drew.

Barry Hearn makes Jimmy White promise after controversial win at the Northern Ireland Open

JIMMY WHITE has revealed his spot in snooker’s biggest events is safe thanks to Barry Hearn.

The 62-year-old controversially beat Hossein Vafaei 4-2 last night to book his place in the second round of the Northern Ireland Open.

He has been promised wildcards by Barry Hearn[/caption]

White still holds a tour card but former World Snooker Tour chairman Barry Hearn has promised to help him stay in the game should he fall down the rankings.

He revealed: “I got mine on merit the last couple of years.

Barry Hearn did say to me, what I’ve done for the game, as long as I keep playing in all of the events then I’ll keep getting the wildcard.

“I enjoy practising, enjoy doing exhibitions, enjoy entertaining.

“I still make 147s and now and again I have a little buzz where I can beat anybody.

“It’s not as consistent as it was, but I think that will come with a few wins. That was a decent win for me today.”

But the victory against Vafaei proved controversial after referee Kevin Dabrowski called a foul against him in the frame that proved to be decisive.

With the Iranian 65-57 up, the official claimed he had not put the white ball correctly inside the D before firing it at a red.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERS

The referee checked a video replay and stood by his decision despite complaints from Vafaei.

Dabrowski handed White four points and the legend went on to win from there.

Earlier in the thrilling match, Vafaei hit an amazing fluke shot that bounced up off the table, rolled along the rail and eventually dropped into the opposite corner pocket.

White is back in action tomorrow against Martin O’Donnell.

Jerry Jones addresses rumors Mike McCarthy has been fired and sends clear message to ‘not good’ Dallas Cowboys

JERRY Jones has returned to the airwaves to call out the Dallas Cowboys for their poor play.

After a brazen radio interview last week, Jones returned to the same station to deliver another interview.

Jones spoke about his roster construction and head coach Mike McCarthy[/caption]

Jones and the radio hosts seemed to have moved on from from the previous altercation, in which the Cowboys owner threatened to have them fired.

He even had jokes on Tuesday about the interview, asking how host RJ Choppy was doing.

“That stings, Jerry, RJ’s the only one not here today,” host Shan Shariff said.

“Did he want to avoid the confrontation?” Jones replied with a laugh.

Last week’s radio interview was as tense and uncomfortable a situation anyone could listen to, but every put it aside on Tuesday.

Jones even said he was “surprised” with how much attention the altercation got, saying he felt like his weekly interviews on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas are “like pillow talk.”

Shariff, who has done the radio interviews with Jones for 15 years, even admitted that Jones “provided us radio gold.”

“Here’s the thing, the fact that we’ve been doing it for 15 years shows that someplace in between there, we got comfortable in our skin doing these type of things,” Jones said.

“I’m tickled to death that we have enough interest in this as we do.”

The whole argument stemmed from Jones being unhappy with questions about the Cowboys’ roster construction after a 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions.

“This is not your job. Your job isn’t to let me go over all the reasons that I did something and I’m sorry that I did it. That’s not your job. I’ll get somebody else to ask these questions. I’m not kidding,” Jones said.

“You’re not going to figure out what the team is doing right or wrong.

“If you are, or any five or 10 like you, you need to come to this [NFL] meeting I’m going to today with 32 teams here, you’re geniuses.

“You really think you’re gonna sit here with a microphone and tell me all of the things that I’ve done wrong without going over the rights?

“Listen, we both know we’re talking to a lot of great fans, a lot of great listeners. And I am very sorry for what happened out there Sunday. I’m sick about what happened Sunday.”

NFL important dates

August 1 - Hall of Fame Game - Houston Texans vs Chicago Bears

August 8 – Pre-season begins

August 27 – Deadline for 53-man rosters

September 1 – Final day of pre-season

September 5 – Season opener – Baltimore Ravens vs Kansas City Chiefs

November 5 – Trade deadline

January 5 – Week 18 of regular-season

January 11 – Playoffs begin

February 9 – Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana

Jones continued to address the questions about his roster construction by sharing why he didn’t sign running back Derrick Henry.

“In my mind, we’re not playing very good football right now, and it’s beyond whether we have Derrick Henry or not. He’s having a career year. I don’t know if he’d be having a career year in our situation,” Jones said.

“He’s a real good complement to the type of offense they run. We don’t run that type of offense at all.”

Jones didn’t directly address his coaching situation, but he made implications about it, and Athletic reporter Dianna Russini later reported on it.

According to her, Jones “has no plans to fire head coach Mike McCarthy or any coordinators.”

Whole Foods exec reveals new ‘small format’ store with ‘larger assortment’ is now open as it competes with Trader Joe’s

A WHOLE Foods executive has revealed a new small format store with “larger assortment” that’s now open as it continues to compete with Trader Joe’s.

It comes after the grocery giant confirmed plans to expand its operational footprint.

Alamy
The Whole Foods exec has revealed a new small format store with “larger assortment”[/caption]

Whole Foods have tested the store from Amazon under the same roof as Whole Foods Market in the One Chicago building.

The grocery store chain was taken over and purchased by Amazon in 2017 for a shocking $13.7 billion.

Whole Foods exec Tony Hogget took to social media to announce the opening.

He said how customers “can now shop their favorite natural and organic brands while also quickly topping up their groceries”.

The exec also added how there is “a larger assortment of favorite national brands, grab-and-go meals, and household essentials—all in one trip.”

A “small format” store is a space that’s a lot smaller than a normal, traditional store – and can often equal a more efficient sales strategy.

This is because despite the size, stores will still bring the same brand awareness to areas while also offering customer convenience.

The CEO of Whole Foods announced earlier in the year huge business changes that could save shoppers some money on groceries.

CEO Jason Buechal gave an inside look at Whole Foods‘ plan to fight inflation and expand the brand’s reach at a California conference.

Speaking with Yahoo Finance, Buechal revealed Whole Foods would be expanding its generic brands to offer more affordable options and “minimize” the impact of inflation.

Currently, the brand 365 by Whole Foods already offers more than 3,000 different “thoughtfully sourced” products, according to the grocer’s website.

The CEO said he wants customers to “appreciate the work that goes into” how they source food with the 365 expansion.

However, he emphasized the move wouldn’t distract from the grocer’s diverse selection of products from other distributors.

When asked about new stores, Buechal said the Amazon-owned grocer plans to open more than 30 locations each year, and added that 75 are currently in the process of opening.

Some of the locations will have new formats, such as the tiny Whole Foods Market Daily Shops set to open in New York City.

Buechal said the expansion was decided based on an increasing customer interest in the brand.

New technology will also be implemented in stores, according to the CEO.

Like many other grocers, Whole Foods plans to introduce the mobile pay option Amazon Dash Cart which allows shoppers to skip checkout by scanning items from the shelves and paying with their phone.

The new tech will “simplify how we run our business,” and create a streamlined customer experience, according to Buechal.

Alamy

Amazon’s Dash Cart technology comes after the mega-corporation pulled its Just Walk Out technology from stores.

The alternative checkout option was first implemented in the Amazon Fresh brand, which struggled to get off the ground.

Some shoppers called Amazon Fresh “zombie stores” because of the limited staff and eerie design at the locations.

Despite this, Amazon doesn’t seem to be backing down and is willing to make some failures in the name of progress, Forbes reported.

Whole Foods fans in New York City can expect to see some of the convenience store-style Daily Shops crop up in busy areas of Manhattan.

The quick-shop stores provide “easier access to the fresh, high-quality offerings” of the brand compared to most convenience stores, according to Whole Foods.

The first store will open in the Upper East Side of New York.

It’s slated to open this year, and more shops will open throughout the New York metropolitan area.

“This quick-shop format is one more way Whole Foods Market and Amazon are innovating every day to build a best-in-class grocery shopping experience that offers multiple ways for customers to conveniently shop for the products they know and love,” a Whole Foods representative told The U.S. Sun.

CPI and Inflation explained

The Consumer Price Index is how the federal government measures inflation.

Every month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics shares its CPI numbers with detailed breakdowns of which items have changing prices.

The CPI shows the amount prices rose or fell over the previous 12 months.

The calculation process is complex, but measures the changes in price for urban consumers, those living or working in an American metropolitan area.

While that does not cover everyone, it measures prices for about 90% of the population.

I found a lime green Birkin bag at Goodwill for just $6.49 – they are so hard to find and start selling at $79,500

A THRIFTER lucked out during a trip to their local Goodwill last month.

While scouring the store for sweet deals, they spotted a lime green bag that made their jaw drop.

A thrifter found their dream luxury designer bag at Goodwill last month[/caption]

They showed viewers what they believed was an authentic Birkin from Hermes[/caption]

It was seemingly made by the luxury brand Hermes and featured a crocodile pattern and markings that placed it as part of the Birkin bag collection.

“I found a Birkin at Goodwill,” wrote thrifter and TikToker Gil (@gilsloserlyfe) in a recent clip.

“I need help, okay, look — it was this color, I don’t know if it was real.”

Gil showed viewers the leather bag with the signature small lock on the side and “Birkin” stitched in above it.

Attached was also the price tag at $6.49.

PROFIT POTENTIAL

Paying less than $10 for any designer bag is an unbelievable thrift find for anyone, but assuming it was a real Hermes Birkin, Gil was looking at a profit potential of tens of thousands of dollars.

Pre-owned versions of various Birkin models sell for upwards of $39,000, per Vestiaire Collective.

New bags in the collection can sell for $79,500.

While it’s unclear exactly what version of the Birkin bag Gil found, the closest variation is selling for $69,950, according to a listing on JaneFinds.

It would be best for Gil to get the bag authenticated first by an expert at a Hermes store and then attempt to resell it elsewhere.

Unfortunately, many fakes circle online.

FAKED OUT

Gil also certainly isn’t the first thrifter to make what they thought might be a staggering designer bag find at Goodwill.

Another budget-conscious shopper, Angie White (@theangiewhite), recently located what was supposedly a brown crocodile skin Hermes Birkin for $7.99 at her nearby store, per a TikTok clip.

Valuable thrifting finds revealed

Here are some of the best thrift store finds:

Many people who saw her suspected it to be a fake, pointing out cosmetic discrepancies not seen on authentic Birkin bags.

Angie said she would take it to a Hermes store in Orlando, Florida, to see if it was the real deal, but she suspected it wasn’t.

Like Gil, Angie also didn’t ultimately care if it was a dupe, as many shoppers are just as thrilled to get a bag reminiscent of the Hermes Birkin style.

Real versions of the bag have been spotted as an accessory for celebrities like Cardi B, Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, and the Kardashians.

BAG BONUS

Many others have made shocking bag finds this year alone at Goodwill.

Someone managed to find a luxury purse at their Goodwill that was authentic and worth $600 last month.

Another thrifter spotted a handbag on the shelves where the tag alone would verify its value of $900 or more.

There was even $300 cash inside a Coach purse someone else bought at Goodwill for $6.99 this summer.
