LUKE LITTLER has revealed the subtle change behind his record-breaking performance at the Czech Darts Open.
The teenage darts sensation thrashed Nathan Aspinall 6-1 in the second round on Sunday.
Littler also set a new tournament record with a three-dart average of 110.43 in Prague.
It had been his first ever match in the event as he continues his debut year on the PDC circuit.
Following the win, the Nuke explained the change he made before seeing off Aspinall.
The 17-year-old switched darts after trialling a new set at the Players Championship 27 and 28 in Wigan during the week.
After reaching the last 16, he revealed: “I’m happy with that. I know what I can throw with these darts and that’s why I didn’t play with the gold ones.
“There was load of talk about changing my darts so I’ve come here this weekend and made the decision to go back to what I know best, and they went well tonight. If I play like this again tomorrow I’ll be very happy.”
Littler was beaten in the second round on both Tuesday and Wednesday before returning to winning ways on Saturday.
His victory sets up a last 16 clash with Damon Heta on the final day in the Czech Republic.
The youngster has already guaranteed himself £4,000 in prize money but could still scoop £30,000 by winning the tournament.
It would be his third EuroTour title of the year, following wins at the Belgian Darts Open and Austrian Darts Open.

LIAM Payne was clean just days before he fell 45ft to his death from his hotel room’s balcony, pals claim.
Sources close to the star said he had entered Argentina on September 30 with the aim of renewing his expired US visa.
They claim that when Liam spoke to US embassy officials, they queried his previous stints in rehab and said he needed to take a drugs test to prove he was clean in order to renew his visa.
A source said: “The embassy said he needed to do a strict investigation including X-rays and a blood test to search for traces of drugs.
“He was completely clean the Thursday before he died.
“On the weekend at his friend’s ranch, he was completely sober.”
An insider said Liam was examined by a US Embassy-certified doctor and that he collected his results, which showed he was clean, on Tuesday.
The source said Liam’s good friend Roger last saw the star for ten minutes on Wednesday, and that he left the hotel at 3.30pm.
The insider said: “Roger told him, ‘I’ve got to run’ and Liam said, ‘Go do your own thing’. That was the last thing they said to each other.”
They added: “Roger is upset – at one point on Wednesday he was phoned by a hotel manager who said they had found Liam asleep on the floor of the elevator.
“They moved him to the sofa in the hotel lobby but the manager said he couldn’t stay there, and that he needed to go to his room.
“In the emergency call, they said they were worried Liam’s life was in danger because he was in a room with a balcony.
“Why didn’t they just let him stay sleeping in the lobby if they were worried about this?”
A pal of Roger told us: “Liam’s behaviour hadn’t been off at all – he was happy.

He visited the US embassy in Buenos Aires that week but his application was reportedly delayed over his history of substance abuse.
A source told The Mail on Sunday: “They ordered him to do medical tests, see a doctor, do bloodwork and X-rays and see a psychiatrist and that was all done the first week.
“Liam thought the trip would only last a few days but because of all the tests he ended up getting stuck there.”
The visa was eventually cleared and due to be stamped on Friday – just two days after Liam’s death from the balcony fall on Wednesday.
His renewed “non-immigration” visa would have allowed him to return to his new life in Florida to join his girlfriend at home in Miami.
Prosecutors say Liam appeared to have taken excessive amounts of booze and drugs – and they have linked his death to a probable psychotic episode.
Shocking pictures show his suite’s TV smashed as well as white powder, foil and a lighter strewn across the room.
Liam often spoke about the dark side of fame, revealing how the constant media attention and pressure from being in the spotlight took a significant toll on his mental health.
One of the more painful admissions from Liam’s interview was his battle with alcohol, which began during his time with the band.

“The best way to secure us was to lock us in our rooms, and what is in the room? A mini-bar,” the ex-1D band-member told the podcast.

BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball reacted to the “devastating news” on her show and told fans she hugged her own son Woody tight this morning.

Former Little Mix star Jade Thirwall – who won X Factor with her bandmates one year after One Direction took part – described him as “the first friend I made in this industry”.
She said: “We fell out of touch as the years went by, but back in 2008 he was the first friend I made in this industry.
“Both of us so young, so ambitious, both hoping we’d ‘make it’. I hope you are at peace now”.
Camila Cabello described his death as a “tragedy” and said he “made an impression” on her when she was a young girl.
A WALMART shopper was left confused by a store employee’s bizarre comments about “throwing receipts away” while returning an item.
In a Reddit post, the user revealed how they were denied a receipt by the return department claiming “its store policy”.
“Does the return department take your receipt after you return an in-store item?” they wrote on Reddit.
“I returned a lotion bottle and vinegar once and the returns representative wouldn’t give me my receipt back even when I told her I wanted it back.
“She said that it’s Walmart policy and said she must throw it away. Is that true per Walmart in-store return?”
Fellow shoppers slammed Walmart’s customer service, saying a customer should always get the receipt back especially when returning or exchanging a product.
One user wrote: “Your receipt should come back to you, along with another receipt, verifying the return.
“If they don’t give it to you, they are either, not trained, dishonest or just lazy.”
Another user wrote: “It sounds like your store has a wrong rule.”
Meanwhile, another fuming customer slammed Walmart for refusing to issue a refund for a broken product.
In a Facebook post, the consumer blasted Walmart for selling him faulty ink cartridges and refusing to give him the money back – he’s lost nearly $100.
“At Walmart customer service, I gave the clerk my receipt and the returned box of cartridges,” he wrote on Facebook.
“Apparently, there was a problem regarding the return of cartridges after thirty days. However, this was a 94.00 purchase and due to their store policy with HP they refused the exchange,” he added.
The consumer noted that when he put the new ink cartridges in the printer, he got an error message that said there was “something wrong” with the cartridges.
An employee told the consumer that the retailer has a 30-day return policy on ink cartridges, but social media users said Walmart was wrong to turn him away.
“Does this mean that a customer can no longer purchase cartridges in quantity?” he questioned.
“So just like that, I am out 94.00. The manager confirmed this and then dismissed me by walking away.”
Several other social media users agreed with the frustrated consumer.
“30 days is a ridiculous policy!!” one consumer raged.
The retailer said a consumer’s purchase history on Walmart.com displays the latest eligible date for a return or replacement.
However, they recommend keeping track of all manufacturer packaging and receipts for a minimum of 90 days after making a purchase.
The retailer also explicitly states that a damaged item can be returned for a refund or replacement at any Walmart store.
Walmart promises that debit and credit card refunds will be available in up to 10 business days.
