The character – played by Natalie J. Robb – was left devastated last month when doctors confirmed she had a brain tumour.

Moira has been delaying her surgery but gets an update in upcoming scenes[/caption]

The diagnosis came after weeks of worrying and out-of-character behaviour for Moira, which had left her family at a loss as to what to do.

Things came to a head after she caused the barn blaze and while everyone escaped unharmed in the end, Moira was hit with the shock news while in hospital.

This week, Moira was seen having a seizure while cooking breakfast at home.

She received news of an available operation slot the next day, but when Cain returned home from Scotland unexpectedly, Moira avoided telling him her operation news.

As Cain went for a shower Moira answered a call from Debbie – revealing the tragic news Cain’s dad Zak had passed away.

As the Dingles grieved their sad loss, her son Matty questioned her decision to delay her operation.

But in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, Moira accepts she needs to have the op as soon as possible.

Moira hears she has a new date for the operation to remove her brain tumour, however it quickly turns to worry over the tough journey ahead.

Meanwhile Moira asks a big favour from her friend Vanessa.

Emmerdale Producer, Sophie Roper previously commented on the storyline: “Moira’s diagnosis comes as a huge shock to both her and her family and Moira faces an emotional and challenging time ahead.

“The research and support we’ve received throughout this storyline has allowed us to depict the realities of the condition and though at times it may be distressing to see the symptoms Moira’s experiencing, we’re keen to explore the hope and resilience Moira finds as she comes to terms with her diagnosis.”

Actress Natalie said: “I feel really fortunate to be trusted with such a challenging storyline.

“Moira and her family have an extremely challenging time ahead, and I’m hoping I can portray it in a truthful way that does justice to all the people who are really suffering with a brain tumour.”

Cain Dingle's relationship timeline

Cain is the local hardman and has tormented and beaten his way through life during his time in Emmerdale. From kidnap to arson, Cain has done it all.

Cain has been the head of the Dingle family since 2015. Cain’s main storylines have focused on discovering his uncle Zak Dingle is his father, his relationships with his cousin Charity Dingle, discovering he is Debbie’s father, his affair and subsequent relationship with Moira Barton.

With four marriages so far, we take a look at Cain’s relationship history.

1989: 14-year-old Cain had a fling with his then 12-year-old second-cousin Charity and unbeknownst to Cain, she gave birth to their daughter, Debbie, in October 1989.

However, the child was taken away from Charity and she was kept apart from Cain who never found out about his daughter until many years later, even though Shadrach was aware of the situation.

1991: Cain had a relationship with Cara Robinson, a woman he worked in a bar with. Shadrach had a racist attitude towards her and used violence to attempt to make her stay away from Cain. Faith heard of the situation she wanted to help calm things, but was horrified when she learnt that Cara was pregnant.

As she knew Shadrach would never accept his son fathering a mixed raised baby, she coerced Cara into leaving Cain and never telling him about the existence of their son, Nate.

2002: Cain and Charity’s love was rekindled and they began an affair.

2005: Cain attempted to hurt Debbie by having a brief relationship with her friend Jasmine Thomas and ensuring that Debbie saw them together. Debbie and Sadie helped Jasmine terminate her pregnancy, knowing that Cain wanted to be a father.

2009: Charity proposed to Cain on Christmas Day and he accepted.

2010: Cain and Charity got married.

2011: Charity ended her relationship with Cain again, after he had a one-night stand with Faye Lamb and slept with Amy Wyatt. Amy fell pregnant, but told everyone she had an abortion, so Cain had an affair with Moira Barton.

Amy gave birth to Cain’s son, Kyle, in a cemetery; thinking he is dead, she panicked and left him in a phone box. Hazel Rhodes and Lisa Dingle found him, and called an ambulance. Amy admitted being his mother and Cain realised she lied about the abortion.

2012: Moira and Cain got together and on New Year’s Day 2013, and they announced their relationship by kissing in the Woolpack. Moira learned that she is pregnant, but miscarried. Despite this, their relationship got stronger and Cain moved in with Moira and Adam.

2013: Cain proposed to Moira, however before Moira can answer, Ross barged in with a gunshot wound.

2014: Moira proposed to Cain, he accepted and they got married.

2015: Cain and Moira discovered that Charity was pregnant when she was sentenced to prison and the baby, Moses Dingle, could possibly be Cain’s.

Cain visited Charity in prison and questioned if he is the father of her child. It is later revealed that Ross Barton is Moses’s father, following a one-night stand with Charity.

2016: Cain and Charity had an affair. Moira ordered a divorce. Cain and Charity decided to start a new life together in France with Debbie, but Cain admitted to a heartbroken Charity that he loved Moira and they got back together.

2017: Cain and vicar Harriet’s affair went public and turned into a relationship after Harriet was stabbed and left fighting for her life, leaving Cain realising how deep he felt for her.

Moira unexpectedly gave birth to Cain’s son Isaac Dingle, leaving his relationship with Harriet on the rocks.

2018: Cain got back together with Moira.

2019: Cain went on a long visit to Scotland to help Debbie, unknowingly giving Moira the perfect opportunity to pursue her recently started affair with Nate. Pete exposed their affair and Cain stopped Moira from seeing the kids and filed for a divorce.

2020: Cain came face-to-face with Cara for the first time since they were teenagers after she was called by Moira, who wanted to get rid of Nate.

Moira covered for Cain after he accidentally shot Nate. Cain and Moira got back together.

2021: Moira stood by Cain’s during his feud with Al Chapman and dealing with his mum’s Faith’s cancer and death.

2022 to present: Moira and Cain have clashed when it came to protecting Kyle who murdered Al, but the couple are still going strong, for now.

The brainwashed Bistro co-owner couldn’t see the impact he was having on her and her relationship with fiance Nick (Ben Price).

As he started to doubt their relationship, he also grew closer to her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor), before the pair embarked on a secret affair.

But as always in soapland, their betrayal soon came out and Leanne was left devastated.

While the sisters have tried to find a way to work through the shocking betrayal, there’s little hope of reconciliation between Leanne and Nick, despite his son Sam’s best efforts.

In recent episodes, Leanne told Toyah that both of them should move out of the flat to help Nick and Sam.

But while she had rented the salon flat, Toyah needed to find her own place.

However in upcoming Coronation Street scenes, Leanne struggles to leave the flat when the time arrives.

As Leanne and Nick divide up their belongings, Sam struggles to hide his upset.

Remembering her late son Oliver, Leanne gets emotional about leaving the flat.

Nick apologises for how things have ended between them.

But later, Toyah prepares to move into her digs and Nick offers to drive her and her stuff there.

Will the pair rekindle their romance? And how will Leanne react?

Best soap affair love triangles

LOVE triangles are a fundamental part of soap-land, but which ones have become the most iconic?

EASTENDERS

Bradley/Stacey/Max: Stacey Slater began an affair with boyfriend Bradley Branning’s dad Max in 2007.

Despite their romps, Stacey still married Bradley, but their deceit came out in an iconic Christmas Day episode that year.

Grant/Sharon/Phil: Heading even further back in Walford history, EastEnders fans were gripped in the 90s as Sharon Watts had a one-night stand with her brother-in-law Phil Mitchell.

Sharon confided in best friend Michelle Fowler – not realising it was caught on tape – and her husband Grant eventually found out and played it in front of everyone at the Queen Vic.

Syed/Amira/Christian: Syed Masood was engaged to Amira before realising he had feelings for another man, Christian, which he confessed to him on his wedding day.

A devout Muslim, Syed refused to admit his true sexuality and went ahead and married Amira anyway, but when they returned, the two men started an affair before being caught in the act by Amira.

CORONATION STREET

Shelley/Peter/Lucy: Peter Barlow took the concept of a love triangle and ran with it in Coronation Street – extending it to bigamy.

He was in a relationship with Shelley Unwin but started dating Lucy Richards, and quickly married her after she fell pregnant with his son, Simon.

But it didn’t stop him also marrying Shelley, but he was eventually caught when Lucy turned up in Weatherfield and the two women confronted him.

Ken/Deidre/Mike: Back in 1982, Deirdre Barlow started sleeping with her husband’s nemesis Mike Baldwin in secret, before confessing all a year later.

When Mike turned up at the marital home, Deirdre was being throttled by her husband who then kicked her out, but years later they reconciled.

Maria/Aidan/Eva: In 2017, Aidan Connor started sleeping with girlfriend Eva Price’s best friend, Maria Connor.

Eva eventually found out and she decided to take revenge by faking a pregnancy, spending his money and planned to confront him on their wedding day.

But she had a change of heart when a remorseful Aidan confessed, and decided to marry him anyway, only for Maria to arrive and expose her fake pregnancy.

EMMERDALE

Ross/Debbie/Pete: Debbie Dingle found herself torn between two brothers, Ross and Pete Barton in 2015 in Emmerdale.

She eventually decided to marry Pete but yet again, a soap wedding day was ruined when the groom learned of his bride’s betrayal via a recording played at the wedding.

Chrissie/Robert/Aaron: Robert Sugden was married to Chrissie White and all seemed well – until he began a steamy affair with Aaron Dingle.

Robert’s ex Katie Sugden almost exposed the affair – but fell to her death before she had the chance.

However, a guilty Aaron eventually cracked and told Chrissie about the affair – after which she announced it to the whole pub.

Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.

Penny confronts Harry after Jack shares a worrying discovery about her beau[/caption]

However, relations between Jack and his daughter are far from great at the moment, after Jack chose to side with Chelsea Fox over his own daughter regarding the club crush drama.

In upcoming EastEnders scenes, Penny and Harry blackmail Jack, before Jack heads to The Arches to demand answers.

Harry tells Jack to agree to his blackmail terms by the end of the week or else.

Later, Jack reveals a worrying discovery to Penny, who immediately heads to The Arches to confront him.

However, he is quick to settle her concerns.

Later, outside No.27, Harry retaliates and tells Jack that the blackmail deadline has moved forward to tomorrow as a result.

His threat works and later in the week, Jack heads to The Arches and reluctantly agrees to turn a blind eye to Harry’s dodgy dealings.

Penny decided to blackmail her dad after his betrayal regarding Chelsea and the club crush.

Stepsister Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) confessed to being responsible for the club crush.

This was something Penny, as manager at Peggy’s, had received blame for.

A furious Jack demanded Chelsea go to the police and admit what happened.

Along the way, however, she made a stop at the hospital to see a young man who’d been left in intensive care after the crush.

Upon learning the man was not only awake but recovering, Jack rethought everything.

He called a family meeting at No.27, asking those present to vote between Chelsea and Penny.

He reasoned Penny is unlikely to face prison time – and charges would be downgraded as there were no deaths.

When the tie was drawn, Jack had the casting vote and went for “the least worst option” and chose Penny to take the fall.

Furious, Penny yelled: “What? You choose her instead of me, Dad?”

Storming out, she continued: “You know, screw you all and your stupid vote. I’m going to the police myself!”

Inside tragic George Baldock’s final hours as he told team-mates ‘it’s s*** I’m not there’ for son Brody’s 1st birthday

GEORGE BALDOCK told team-mates he was devastated to miss his son’s 1st birthday just a day before he tragically passed away.

The footballer was found dead at his home in Athens, Greece on October 9 after drowning in his pool.

His finacee Annabel raised the concern after not hearing from him on the night he died[/caption]

On the day of the 31-year-old’s sad passing, Baldock reported to his club Panathinaikos‘ training ground for treatment on a minor injury.

His team-mate and close friend Hordur Magnusson was also there and remembers getting a warm embrace from him.

After doing some light jogging, he joined players Erik Palmer-Brown and Alexander Jeremejeff in the sauna.

The pair teased Baldock about being “father of the year” – an inside joke they shared – which had extra meaning that day as it was his son Brody’s first birthday.

Palmer-Brown told The Athletic that his last memory of the ex-Sheffield United star was him admitting: “But it’s a bit s*** I’m not there.”

Baldock then told his team-mates he was thrilled to be flying back to England the next day to visit his little boy and fiancee Annabel.

Unfortunately, he never made it and died later that night.

After his sauna, the right-back was dropped home by fellow defender Bart Schenkeveld, who was one of the last people to see him.

Annabel soon became worried that night as she had unusually not heard from her husband-to-be just hours before he was set to come home.

She reached out to his landlord and he visited the property – only to find Baldock dead in his pool.

Medics were called but they were unable to save him.

News quickly spread and several Panathinaikos players went to Baldock’s house that night.

Magnusson was there, explaining: “I went to try to help because I didn’t believe that George was dead.

“But when I saw 20 police guys on motorbikes outside his house, and the ambulance as well, the club staff members and the investigative police going inside, then I realised: ‘F***. He’s gone.’”

Palmer-Brown reveals he has been struggling to sleep, saying: “It was one of the darkest days of my life.

“I don’t see myself just moving on and playing football happily ever again. I’ve never felt like this before.”

Baldock’s death has also hit his former Sheffield United pals hard.

Little Brody is going to grow up and never know what a top man his dad was

Oli McBurnie

Oli McBurnie said: “George loved his missus and his little boy so much. They’re the people in this that I really feel sorry for.

“I know how hard it’s been for me and some of the other boys who love him, but little Brody is going to grow up and never know what a top man his dad was.

“Me and the boys have said that it’s our duty to be part of his life and try to remind him at every opportunity how much of an amazing person his dad was.”

Baldock’s death came on the eve of Greece’s 2-1 win over England.

He played for the Greek national side as he was eligible via his grandparents and was only not in the squad because of his minor injury.

Police are investigating his death but have ruled out any criminal activity.

Toxicology reports could take as long as 45 days to come back.

Dominating Mbappe, Premier League Iron Man, promotion hero: A tribute to George Baldock

By Kostas Lianos, Digital Sports Reporter

IT was back in 2019 when Greece legend Vasilis Torosidis – the heir to Euro 2004 hero Giourkas Seitaridis – retired from international duty after 101 caps.

A giant void was left behind at right-back, many talented players tried to step up – and none of them could fill those big boots.

But, soon enough, I started to hear whispers about a Premier League ace with Greek heritage who’s a starter week-in and week-out…

That was none other than George Baldock, born in Buckingham on March 9, 1993, to English parents but qualified for Greece through his grandmother.

And what a season he was having. The right-back starred for Sheffield United as they surprised the Prem in the 2019-20 campaign – their first in 12 years – by finishing in the top half of the table.

Baldock was among their standout players as he registered a staggering 3,420 minutes played – the joint highest along with the likes of Declan Rice and Virgil van Dijk.

The defender was keen to make the big step to the international stage with his grandmother’s homeland – and it didn’t take long until he shook hands with the Greek football federation (EPO) chiefs.

However, a long and arduous paperwork slog stood in the way – with the then Sheffield United star claiming Covid-19 and Brexit slowed things down.

Greece finally got the right-back they were begging for for years as Baldock made his debut on June 2, 2022 in a Nations League clash at Northern Ireland as a late substitute.

It didn’t take long until the English-born ace owned the right flank at the back and impressive performances followed.

Perhaps none compare to the Euro 2024 qualifier against France in June 2023 when Baldock did the unthinkable and kept Kylian Mbappe quiet for 104 MINUTES, despite being injured and playing through “unimaginable” pain.

I still remember speaking to then-Greece manager Gus Poyet about his player’s stunning performance, and I will never forget the big smile the Chelsea legend had on his face.

Poyet reminded me of a proud father as he took me through the injury hell the full-back endured before squaring up against perhaps the world’s best player for his country.

A beaming Poyet told me: “Against the Republic of Ireland [three days beforehand] – and now that it is finished I can say it – after 20 minutes he had a very bad twist in his ankle, very bad. He was very close to come out. I asked him, ‘Can you hold until half-time?’

“At half-time his ankle was very, very swollen. He asked for a strapping and he asked me for five minutes. Give me five minutes and we’ll let you know. And he had an unbelievable second half running up and down and being outstanding.

“You don’t imagine the ankle after the game. You don’t imagine the ankle the day after, after the flight to France. Black and blue – swollen. And a day-and-a-half later you need to play against Mbappe.

“Ninety per cent of people will think, no chance. And I keep talking to him, individually. And he keeps saying to me, ‘Coach I’m gonna be there no worries’.

“And he didn’t play 20 minutes, he didn’t play 60 minutes, he played 104 minutes because the referee gave 14 minutes of injury time against Mbappe.”

It’s easy to understand how loyal Baldock was to every team he ever played for during his 15-year career, just by looking at his stats.

The Greek ace started his career at MK Dons in 2009 where he amassed a staggering 125 appearances throughout an eight-year stint that also saw him playing on loan for Northampton Town, Tamworth, IBV and Oxford United.

The defender joined Sheffield United in 2017 and registered a whopping 219 appearances in seven years that also saw him helping his team achieve two Premier League promotions.

Baldock’s work ethic and commitment was no different in Greece as he proudly stated two years ago: “To play for the national side is a great honour and a lot of pride involved for me and my family.

“Representing my country through my late grandmother, it’s a very proud moment for me and my family. I love the country and I will fight for every success”

Baldock never played for England at any level, but he always competed like a lion and he proved it on Sunday in his last ever match when he started for Panathinaikos, whom he joined in the summer, against eternal rivals Olympiacos in perhaps the most intense derby in Europe.

He served his team with honour as he helped them pick up a valuable point in a goalless draw against their in-form foes, who had just played their best game of the season with a 3-0 win over Braga in the Europa League a few days earlier.

He only managed 12 caps for Greece before his sudden and tragic death at the age of 31 on Wednesday in Athens.

But his fighting spirit and charisma at right-back with the white and blue, as well as his remarkable run in the Premier League and the Championship, show that he is leaving a legacy behind for many Greek and English fans to look up to.

“Rest in peace Liam”.
