My wife cheated with a lifelong friend – she said she was ‘drunk & stupid’ but the real truth has me wanting revenge

A MAN has revealed that his wife has admitted to cheating on him with his best friend.

The distraught man explained that whilst his partner claims she was ‘drunk and stupid’, the real truth has left him heartbroken and desperate for revenge.

However, the anonymous man, who shared his story on social media, leaving many open-mouthed, shared that he has been left feeling “shattered” and isn’t sure how to move forward with the situation.

Posting on Reddit, on the r/relationships thread under the username @resistance_01, the man, 30, confessed that his 29-year-old wife has “admitted” to cheating with his lifelong pal.

He confessed: “Two days ago, my spouse of five years (together for 10) admitted to two occasions where she cheated with my best friend of 15 years.

“The first time was several months ago. The second time was less than a week ago and they were caught by his wife (also a friend for 15+ years).

“It was also an emotional affair, as they’ve gotten very close in the last four to five months.

“Just before this admission, I had an overdue talk with her about me being uncomfortable, at times, with the closeness of their friendship.”

The Reddit poster claimed his wife attempted to justify her infidelity, as he added: “She claims that there was ‘no reason’ she did this, that both occasions were ‘drunk and stupid’ mistakes.

“I pointed out that this wasn’t two isolated incidents… It was months and months of hidden, unfaithful behaviour. Even after the first physical episode of cheating, she chose not to walk away.

“She claims that there are no relationship issues or other problems that drove this behaviour. I have a really hard time believing this.

“You don’t cheat for ‘no reason’, and the ‘why?’ question is really messing with my head, even if I know it’s mostly irrelevant in the big picture.”

And as a result of her unfaithful actions, the man admitted: “I’m also having serious doubts that this was the first time she’s cheated. She’s had male friends at work that threw up some red flags, but obviously I didn’t act on it.

“We’re both independent and give each other space to have our own lives… at least, that’s how I used to view it.”

Reflecting on the situation, the fuming man explained: “My best friend is dead to me.

“While it would be incredibly satisfying to seek out a fight or some kind of revenge, I doubt it does any good in the short-term or long-term.

“As for me… my emotions are still incredibly raw, but I don’t see how I can live with this.

“I’m an independent person and I’m pretty closed-off, but my wife was the one person I ‘let in’.

It’s so hard to think clearly. Every thought is interrupted by an alternating torrent of anger and crushing sadness

Reddit user

“These people formed virtually my entire social group; we were incredibly close. Now I’m looking around at my life and it feels like scorched earth… there’s nothing left.

“We have no kids (thank god). We own a house. We have virtually no other debt. We’re both staying in the house for now; her downstairs, me upstairs.”

Keen for advice, the man concluded: “It’s so hard to think clearly. Every thought is interrupted by an alternating torrent of anger and crushing sadness.

“How do I choose a path forward? If I leave, what do I need to start getting in order?”

REDDIT USERS REACT

Reddit users flocked to the comments to share advice and guidance, with many encouraging divorce as the most suitable way of moving forward.

Get a lawyer and a divorce

One person said: “Talk to a lawyer and leave her and your friend. Never speak to them again.”

Another added: “Wow, it sucks to lose two best friends at the same time. They’re never going to reclaim that position of trust, so don’t waste your time agonising over it.

“They each chose to end a friendship, and your wife chose to end a marriage. All you can do is cut contact and move on.”

You now need to focus on yourself. Make yourself feel good, happy and safe

Reddit user

Meanwhile, someone else advised: “I am so so sorry about what you’re going through. You had a horrible wife. And the worst friend ever. You don’t deserve this. AT ALL.

“You need a lawyer to protect yourself. An unfaithful person is capable of doing many other atrocities.

“Also, you now need to focus on yourself. Make yourself feel good, happy and safe. Surround yourself with the ones who really love you and care about you.

“Don’t try to mend your heart with another relationship right now. It never works. And don’t become a bitter man either.

“There are many decent women out there who wouldn’t do what your wife did.

“There are many great people out there who wouldn’t do what your ex-friend did.”

Four red flags your partner is cheating

Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating.

They start to take their phone everywhere with them

In close relationships, it’s normal to know each other’s passwords and use each other’s phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something.

Aaron says: “If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”

“You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.”

They start telling you less about their day

When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you.

“If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”

“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it’s an easy way to get caught out,” says Aaron.

Their libido changes

Your partner’s libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron.

Aaron says: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating.  You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”

They become negative towards you

Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify.

“To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere.  Maybe you haven’t walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime.  A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating,” warns Aaron.

My neighbours HATE haunted house full of ‘dead bodies’ on my front garden – they say kids are terrified but I don’t care

A MAN says his neighbours hate the haunted house full of “dead bodies” in his front garden – but he doesn’t care.

Rob Amey began the beloved Halloween attraction in 2017, with just a few fake cemetery headstones at his Sittingbourne house, in Kent.

The dad-of-three started out with a simple set-up to raise some cash for an Autism charity and managed to collect nearly £500.

To boost funds, the 51-year-old decided to hand-craft an intricate haunted house the following year.

In total the family has raised some £5,500 for The Autism Apprentice CIC so far.

Rob has enlisted the help of his alarm and electronics business – Amey Security Systems – for the mammoth build each September.

His trade skills have allowed him to install the house of horrors full with electrics and pressure pad systems to set off various spooky props.

“Every other year we’ve run it we ran it from 5pm until 9pm, Friday, Saturday and Sundays,” Rob told The Sun.

“This year it’s 6pm until 9pm.

“We raised £490 the first time, that was just with some cemetery railings. But the first time we did a big build like this we raised over £2,500.

“I pay to store all this stuff in three garages, I’m renting them all year long, each garage is around £80 a month and then there’s a month off work to build it all.

“This is really the last year we can do it, but we’re going out with a bang.

“I could say what I pay in rent and come to the same amount as we donate.

“I get frustrated, stressed and anxious that it won’t be done in time but I enjoy it.

“You have to reinvent it every year, through imagination, there’s so many films to draw from.

“I thought of this one as I was walking half way through last year’s opening night. I always start scavenging stuff from November.

Each year the dad choses a different theme for the spooktacular event[/caption]

“This is made of plywood that you paint and construct, it’s basic carpentry skills as long as you can measure and cut straight it’s not that difficult.

“Props wise a lot are imported from America. You have to pay through the nose for import duties though but they do it better.”

Brave visitors who dare to enter are not required to pay any fee, but simply donate what they can.

“It’s just nice to raise money for good causes,” added Rob.

His devoted wife Laura is a health visitor and has chosen several volunteer groups that support people with Autism to help this year.

“Whatever we raise will be split between them,” said the proud husband.

Their 13-year-old son George enjoys taking part in the theatrics of the haunted house and has his routine planned out for this year.

The drama-loving teen will feature as a live actor in the ‘Insane Asylum’.

It is expected to draw in hundreds of locals, as well as keen visitors who all the way from London for the experience.

“We can have a queue that goes down onto the green, everyone is pretty respectful,” said Rob.

“Probably around two per cent of people who come are idiots, usually teenage lads.

“If they’ve been scared they’re embarrassed and might get a bit funny.

“There was one person who walked back into the house through the exit and punched part of the set because he got angry about being jump-scared.”

Meanwhile, “one of the best scares” came when a heavily tattooed man came on his own and let out “the highest pitch scream you’ve ever heard”, recalled Rob.

“And I literally saw him slide down the wall because he’d jumped so high he was so scared,” the dad-of-three added.

“Another woman said she had wet herself a bit.

“One lady came in, gave us the best scream of the night. I was dressed as Freddy Krueger, she came outside and I followed.

“She tried to retreat away but I chased her down the street and her family were all doubled over laughing.”

‘TERRIFIC CAUSE’

Locals living in the street hailed the haunted house and Rob’s work each year.

Neighbour Clare said: “I think it’s brilliant, I send everyone there. I go through with my grandchildren.

“I’ve got friends coming over next Sunday and we will have a few drinks and go round there.

“We usually have a Halloween party and go round there afterwards. It scares me.

“He starts it it August, he works so hard, we get loads of people around but it doesn’t bother me. It all goes to charity.”

Fellow neighbour John agreed: “I think he should be congratulated on it, a lot of hard work goes into that.

My neighbour is the UK’s ‘WORST’ – his front garden is a ‘Frankenstein art installation’ & he sounds air horn all night

By Ryan Merrifield

A FURIOUS son says his late mum’s ‘artivist’ neighbour is a nightmare after leaving a mound of ‘rubbish’ to build up in his garden for years.

John Kirby has been forced to take mum Doreen Moore’s house off the market after struggling to sell it due to the “eyesore” pile.

Doreen – who had Alzheimer’s – had been living in a care home since last year, before her death on October 2.

And John, 62, has been trying to sell her two bedroom home in Dalgety Bay, Fife, in Scotland, in an effort to keep up with her care bills and now cover the small debts that have built up.

He said 86-year-old Doreen, even up to her dying day and despite the memory loss caused by her condition, was asking if the house had sold and if the rubbish had gone.

However, neighbour Denis Carbonaro said the pile-up is actually part of his latest ‘artivist’ campaign which he calls the ‘Dalgety Baycott’.

John says he and his neighbours have complained to Fife Council, as well as Police Scotland, but he claims they’ve been told Carbonaro is not breaching any rules.

However, he believes the artist was warned off by the authorities from sounding an air raid style horn attached to a tree.

John told The Sun: “I don’t know what I can do. I’ve tried going down all the routes I can.”

He now fears all the old wood used to build the sculptures could prove to be a fire hazard.

John said people have been discussing the issue on local Facebook groups, but: “It’s almost like he’s thriving on the publicity.

“Every day the garden just gets worse and worse and worse. I mean, there’s a fridge freezer in the front garden now, and I’ve now heard there’s a banner hanging from his front windows.

“I don’t know what he’s trying to do. I’ve had to take the house off the market because nobody’s going to buy it with that eyesore.”

He said another neighbour was told by an estate agent “there’s absolutely no point you putting your house on the market”.

“They suggested to her to go down the legal route with solicitors,” he added.

“It might be a bit frustrating when people come but I’m prepared to let that happen for a week and fair play to him. It’s for a terrific cause.”

Although he did admit: “The Saturdays it’s very difficult to get in and out of the close, but if you know it’s going to happen you plan for it.”

Meanwhile, Louise next-door said: “We love it, we help out when we can. You get people lining up all long the road.

“It’s for a good cause and we enjoy it.”

But, she also highlighted a few issues with the amount of foot traffic the event attracts.

“It can be a bit annoying because people don’t realise and walk across your garden, or try to park on the grass,” she said.

“But he’s putting out cones to stop that from happening now so that’s good.”

Another local, Barbara, denied there were any parking issues at all.

“We think it’s great, their children have Autism and it raises money for a good cause,” she praised.

“We have plenty of room, there’s a turning point, places to park, there’s never been a problem.”

‘SHOCKED NO ONE HAS BEEN RUN DOWN’

Despite the overall love for Rob and Laura’s spooktacular creation, there were two neighbours who weren’t fans.

The locals, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed their concerns with parking and noise.

One said: “I agree with it in principle and have nothing against the money they are raising but there are so many people and there’s no parking.

“I couldn’t get out one year and if there was an emergency no one would be able to get in.

“My child is also really scared of it every year so she won’t go outside, and it can be pretty noisy.”

Another resident on the street, who is known by everyone for complaining about the haunted house, added: “I don’t like it.

“There’s no where for anyone to park. One year I went out and I couldn’t get back in.

“And it’s dark, there’s little kids running about everywhere, I’m shocked no one has been run down yet.”

Rob and Laura have been fully backed by Swale Borough Council despite the neighbour complaints.

The haunted house is classed as a temporary structure which avoids any complications.

Council officials also advised the couple to shut down the event by a certain time of night – which they always abide by.

Swale Borough Council was contacted for comment.

How to complain about a neighbour to the council

If you have tried and failed to resolve your neighbourly issue by talking to your neighbour you can approach your local council.

Before approaching your council you should always try to compromise with your neighbours.

Consider neighbour mediation before instructing lawyers to try and resolve disputes.

If their behaviour crosses into verbal abuse and intimidation that can be classed as antisocial behaviour.

You can ask the police to get involved when your neighbours are rowdy or inconsiderate, damage your property or dump rubbish.

In this case injunctions can be imposed, fines can be handed out, or courts could make Criminal Behaviour Orders (formerly known as ASBOs).

For extreme cases the nuisance neighbours can be evicted or rehoused.

You need to keep a log of all the incidents so you can accurately report the issue.

In the event of an emergency, such as if your neighbour physically attacks you, always call 999.

Four supersonic jets vying to become the ‘son of Concorde’ with speedy 3.5 hour flights from London to New York

MAJOR projects to cut flights from London to New York City down by half are gaining speed – and could become a reality sooner than you think.

A number of supersonic ideas have emerged in recent years in a bid to be crowned the “son of Concorde”.

Concorde was the last supersonic service to run more than 20 years ago.

Its final journey ran from John F. Kennedy International Airport in NYC on October 24, 2003.

So could one of these supersonic ideas take off and bring back the heyday of speedy air travel?

The Sun looks at some of the projects underway…

Boom Supersonic XB-1

Boom has already carried out a number of test flights
Boom Technology

Boom has been seriously ramping up testing this year for its XB-1 trijet.

The company intends for the tech to eventually pave the way for its very own Boom Overture supersonic transport airliner.

Boom wants to make London to NYC more affordable than Concorde in 3.5 hours.

Five flight tests have already been carried out so far.

If tests are successful a supersonic airliner carrying between 64 and 80 passengers could be available from 2029.

Creators want the aircraft to reach Mach 1.7 (around 1,300 mph).

Exosonic

Exosonic
Exosonic concept image[/caption]

Exosonic’s effort puts a lot of focus on noise.

One of Concorde’s issues was the sonic boom that made it much louder than ordinary flights.

Exosonic says its aircraft are designed with a special sonic boom shaping technology to essentially “mute” these levels of sound.

It claims that the sonic boom is made so much softer that, by the time the sonic boom reaches the ground, it sounds no louder than a car door being shut.

Their plan is to carry 70 passengers, cutting current journey times in half.

Exosonic is hoping to launch in the early to mid 2030s.

Spike S-512

Spike Aerospace is positioning itself at the luxury end of supersonic travel.

Instead of small cabin windows, the jet will feature a panoramic view delivered by high definition displays.

Its proposed S-512 will only have space for a maximum of 18 passengers.

And the firm has also put emphasis on noise reduction.

But it’s not clear when Spike Aerospace intends to take to the skies.

Lockheed Martin X-59

The X-59’s first flight is planned for 2024[/caption]

Lockheed Martin is no stranger to flying as a leading defense and aerospace manufacturer.

In January, the firm reveal revealed the X-59 an experimental aircraft designed to quiet the sonic boom, working alongside Nasa.

The pair have carried out a number of key ground tests so far this year.

Its first test flight was planned to take place in 2024 but with less than three months to go until the end of the year there hasn’t been any updates on exactly when this may happen.

Remembering Concorde

THE CONCORDE was the first supersonic passenger-carrying luxury airplane.

Two decades ago the Concorde took its first-ever flight.

It became supersonic in 1969, flying passengers from New York to London in less than three hours.

It was the only aircraft in the British Airways fleet that required a flight engineer.

Concorde needed unsustainable amounts of fuel and created very loud sonic booms.

Then, in July 2000, a horror accident saw 113 people killed when an Air France Concorde ran over a small piece of metal while taking off from Charles de Gaulle Airport.

It caused the tyre to explode and the engine to ignite.

A year after the horrific crash, 9/11 majorly affected passenger numbers.

Ultimately a combination of these events led to its downfall.

By 2003, Air France and British Airways announced they would be retiring their fleet of Concorde planes.

Brit tourist drowns after falling on rocks and being dragged out to sea by wave on Menorca coastline stroll

A BRITISH holidaymaker has drowned after being swept into the sea by a wave during a coastline stroll in Menorca.

The 72-year-old was knocked off his feet on rocks near a landmark sea arch on the north side of Ciutadella bay called Pont d’en Gil.

The tragedy happened at around 1pm on Friday[/caption]

Residents in a nearby apartment block called 999 after seeing him in difficulties in the water.

The sea currents took him further away from the coastline and he was already dead by the time firefighters in a dinghy reached him.

His body was taken to Ciutadella Port where he was formally pronounced dead.

The tragedy happened around 1pm on Friday.

An autopsy due to take place later today is expected to confirm the unnamed tourist died from drowning and not a blow to the head as he fell.

A strong easterly wind was blowing when the man went into the water.

He was thought to have been staying in a four-star hotel, just a five-minute drive away in Cala d’en Blanes.

Cops have launched a routine investigation co-ordinated by a local court but have not yet made any official comment.

Local police, coastguards, paramedics and Civil Guard officers were called to the scene as part of the emergency response.

Pont d’en Gil is a spectacular arch shaped by the strength of the waves which has been crafted into a natural suspension bridge.

Medium and small sized boats can pass through it.

Next to Pont d’en Gil there is an underwater cave well known by divers on the island, called Sa Cigonya.

It comes after an injured Brit woman was rescued after she was hacked by a boat propeller while diving off a Thai island.

Aimee Louise Bacchetta, 30, was paddling off the idyllic Similan Islands in Phang Nga province when she injured her leg on a whirring boat propeller.

The holidaymaker suffered a deep wound near her right Achilles tendon.

Crew from the speedboat Saracha called the Royal Thai Navy.

Medics were rushed to the scene, where they stopped the bleeding and transported Bacchetta to hospital after carrying her to shore.

She has since been released from hospital and is recovering from the ordeal.

Meanwhile, a 66-year-old Brit holidaymaker was tragically killed in a horror crash on his first day in Thailand.

He had recently arrived in the Southeast Asian country to visit his long distance Thai partner and friends in Chonburi province.

He went on a motorcycle ride with some pals to celebrate his arrival, but crashed into a traffic sign while turning at a U-turn slot near a bridge on the night of October 5.

The impact was said to have flung the Brit from his seat and shattered his two-wheeler.
