Instagram hiding unusual secret feature nothing to do with pictures – and you don’t even need the internet

INSIDE your Instagram DMs is a hidden feature that is very addictive – but has nothing to do with pictures.

Better still, it works even if you’ve got no Wi-Fi or phone signal.

There’s a hidden game buried in Instagram’s direct messages that only works if you know where to tap.

It’s not advertised as being there, so you’d only ever really find it by mistake.

The game is also a fairly new addition: it was only added earlier this year.

It’s a pong-style game that asks you to keep an emoji aloft by bouncing it off a paddle at the bottom of the screen.

Earlier this year, a Meta spokersperson told The Sun: “We are always working on ways to make Instagram feel more fun while connecting with friends.

“And have rolled out a hidden game that can be found in your DMs.”

HOW TO FIND INSTAGRAM’S HIDDEN GAME

The game works a lot like a solo game of Pong, or the classic arcade game Breakout – as well as pinball.

You have a single paddle and you’re meant to keep an emoji aloft.

With every successful bounce on the paddle, you’ll earn a point.

And the emoji will move faster as the game progresses, making it increasingly difficult to keep it in the air.

To find the game, simply send an emoji – any emoji will do – in an Instagram DM.

Then simply tap on the emoji to be transported to the hidden game.

The game will use whatever emoji you decided to send and tap.

If you can’t see it, make sure that you’ve updated your phone and Instagram app to their latest versions.

GAME ON!

Here’s a quick gaming tip from The Sun’s tech expert Sean Keach

You can play plenty of arcade classics just by heading to the regular Google website.

They can be summoned up just by making simple search queries – and don’t cost a penny to enjoy.

If you type in any of the following game names, a Google widget will appear at the top of the page that lets you play each respective title.

Try these out:

  • Solitaire
  • Tic Tac Toe
  • Snake
  • Pac Man

They should load up on both mobile and desktop, and will give you that fantastic hit of nostalgia.

The best part about the game is that it doesn’t require any phone signal or Wi-Fi.

So you can enjoy it on an airplane if you want to kill some time.

BONUS GAME FOR GOOGLE FANS

There’s also another great no-internet game built into the Google Chrome app.

Load up the app, then turn your Wi-Fi and phone signal off.

Try to load up a website and you’ll get an error page that includes a small dinosaur icon.

Tap it and you’ll find yourself suddenly playing an infinite runner game.

Tap the screen to make the little dinosaur jump.

You’ll need to dodge the obstacles to keep running for as long as possible – earning points as you go.

Tickets for huge England decider on sale for just £10 as Thomas Tuchel gets first look at Three Lions

ENGLAND fans are still able to get tickets for next month’s Nations League clashes – including a huge decider.

The Three Lions are up against it as they look to win promotion back to League A at the first attempt, following a shock 2-1 loss at home to Greece earlier this month.

Greece were shock 2-1 winners at Wembley[/caption]

And they now face Greece away and Ireland at home knowing they will probably have to win both matches to top the group.

Should England finish second, they will enter a two-legged play-off with one of the third placed teams in League A in March.

The Greeks currently top the group on 12 points with England second on nine.

However, the Greek FA clearly weren’t expecting unprecedented demand for the England game at the Athens Olympic Stadium with tickets on sale from £10.

England fans will be housed in the upper tier where the cheapest tickets are available.

While most of the away allocation has already been taken up, 660 tickets go on sale on to England fans Wednesday at 12pm.

Should Greece win or draw, they will guarantee top spot in the group promotion to Nations League A.

If England win by two goals, they will just need a win against Ireland to finish top.

But if England win by one goal then they will need to win against the Irish at Wembley by a greater margin than any Greece win away at Finland.

Thomas Tuchel was last week announced as the new England manager on an 18-month deal until after the World Cup.

However, the ex-Chelsea boss will not formally take over until January 1, leaving Lee Carsley in charge in Athens.

It is likely that Tuchel will attend the match, but the German will not be allowed to be present at the World Cup qualifying draw in December.

The new figures come as house prices continue to climb, locking more and more Americans out of home ownership.

According to Realtor.com’s September Housing Market report, the medium national house price was $425,000 last month.

While home ownership is increasingly out of reach for many people, there are still pockets of the country where houses remain affordable.

The new research has found housing in Pittsburgh may still be in reach for buyers, with the median house price less than $180,000 below the national average.

Pittsburgh is the second largest city in Pennsylvania, with an estimated population of 310,000.

VIBRANT CITY LIGHTS

According to local tourism body Visit Pittsburgh, the city is a vibrant hub of technology, education and medicine.

In 2021, WalletHub named Greater Pittsburgh its sixth-best metro area for STEM professionals.

“Pittsburgh is a vibrant, mid-sized city that has the feel of a small town,” Visit Pittsburgh said.

“Its approachability can be seen on the faces of its energetic, hard-working and proud people.”

HOME OF CHAMPIONS

Pittsburgh is known to Americans as the home of champion sports franchises.

The city is home to three widely-known teams including the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates.

It has blue-collar roots, and is commonly called the Steel City.

In the past, the city was the steel making capital of the world, with the steel building famous New York City landmarks including the Brooklyn Bridge, George Washington Bridge, Chrysler Building, and the Empire State Building.

The city also hosts a number of special events and festivals to celebrate various cultures engrained in the city.

CITY SAVINGS

Realtor.com has also found a number of other cities which remain relatively affordable for new home buyers.

Detroit, Michigan also boasts a median house price of $277,000, while Buffalo, New York lists its median price as $282,500.

Rochester, New York has a median home list price of $282,500.

This means the city is ranked number 18 among Realtor.com’s September Hottest Housing Markets.

The price of a house in Rochester, New York is $143,000 less than the national median.

Realtor.com said list prices have actually seen a 13% increase year over year but remain low compared to the national average.

House prices have seen an increase as there have been fewer homes for sale than in the past, putting a squeezer on the market.

She was also missing from the broadcast the week before that, despite being scheduled to be on.

But she came back on Monday 21 October, following an extended period out.

The Sun U.S. revealed last week how she was scheduled to return this week.

And we also told how it was understood she was out due to an illness.

She also wanted to have time off ahead of the NBA season starting.

And Qerim returned in style, in a stunning outfit for ESPN viewers tuning in.

She wore a satin-style black dress, tied up, with a skirt and heels.

Fans flocked to social media in excitement of her return, and “gorgeous” outfit.

One said: “All hail the Queen. She has returned!”

Another said: “Molly Qerim is back on my screen!”

A third added: “Glad to see you back in the driver’s seat.

“We missed you!”

A fourth replied: “Molly looks stunning today.

“She’s so gorgeous.”

Molly Qerim's life in the spotlight

Molly Qerim has risen through the ranks to become one of the biggest stars at ESPN.

The popular sports host began her media career in 2006 with ESPN and spent four years with the network.

She then covered college basketball and football for CBS Sports Network in New York.

Qerim balanced that with hosting duties for NFL Network in Los Angeles – fronting NFLAM and NFL Fantasy Live.

The host returned to ESPN in 2015 and immediately took the role of First Take anchor.

And Qerim has been an ever-present, popular host of the daily sports debate show ever since.

And a fan commented: “Glad to have you back, we missed you!”

Qerim also posted an image of herself on Instagram, for the first time in weeks.

She looked sensational in a matching beige outfit, promoting clothing brand Noctume.

Qerim is the main host of First Take, and has been on the show for a number of years.

The 40-year-old usually appears alongside Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe and Co.

A source told The Sun U.S. last week how she likes to relax during her time off.

“When she is off, she is off. Molly wants a clean break, she has complete downtime,” they revealed.

“She disconnects almost completely to rest and have a normal, basic life, like everyone.

“She likes to chill and do simple things. Shopping, sleeping in and cooking at home.”
