Watch the moment pop superstar stuns onlookers & brings busy train station to a standstill in bid for Christmas number 1

PASSENGERS at St. Pancras International station were left stunned as a chart-topping singer delivered an impromptu performance in the middle of the packed-out station.

Tom Grennan, 29, left onlookers open-mouthed as he burst into song as part of his bid to gain Christmas number one.

The popstar belted out his festive tune It Can’t Be Christmas to stunned onlookers[/caption]

The singing superstar is hoping for the greatest Christmas gift of all this year in the form of the coveted festive number-one with his track It Could Be Christmas, released in partnership with Amazon Music.

As part of his plan to spread Christmas cheer and drum up support for the record, Tom and his band delivered an extra special unannounced performance in the middle of the London train station leaving passengers gobsmacked.

The Higher hitmaker brought the station to a standstill as travellers risked missing their trains as they flocked to catch a glimpse of the star in action.

The Brit nominee performed his festive hit as well as his 2021 hit single, Little Bit Of Love, much to the delight of unsuspecting members of the public.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun after his performance, Tom admitted he wanted to create a Christmas track that was a “modern classic” with the hopes of it retaining longevity in years to come.

Tom told us: “You never know what song is going to have longevity. I just knew I wanted to be very truthful to me.

“And I said, right, let’s go in a studio and I want to create something that I love.

“I decided I wanted to make something like a modern classic and feel like I’ve done that.

“With the reaction I’ve got, people really like it.

“People have said it feels like a classic and it feels like a modern one, which is amazing to hear.

“So I’m hoping that it’s one of these Christmas songs that lasts a long time.”

Tom has already made his hopes of gaining the Christmas number one quite clear after tattooing “Christmas No. 1 2024 is…” on his leg.

With the official result set to be unveiled later today, Tom admitted he is giving himself two shots at the festive honour as a result of the next chart count falling just two days after Christmas Day.

Speaking of how he will complete the tat, the singer said: “We’ve got two shots at the title. So I’m leaving this blank for now because whatever happens, happens.

“Then the week after is where I’ll fill it in.

“But if it’s, for example, Wham!, then I will stick to my word and I’ll get George Michael on my thigh.

“But if it’s me, I’m just going to get me. Not a picture of myself, just the word me.”

Tom continued: “I really believe that whatever happens tomorrow or whatever happens next week, I really believe the British public want a new Christmas song.

“And I think this is the song.

“So whether you like my music or not, I think people will start getting behind us and they have been getting behind the song.

“I think it deserves that number one spot at some point. But it took Wham thirty nine years, man.

“So if it’s on my debut, I’ll be running around my hometown, Bedford, like a madman.”

As well as releasing the track as part of an exclusive collaboration with Amazon Music, following in the footsteps of Sam Ryder and pop heavyweight Katy Perry, Tom has also created a limited-edition festive merchandise range of t-shirts, tank tops and hoodies for the site.

A limited-edition vinyl of his track It Can’t Be Christmas is also available to purchase on the site from today.

Two brothers charged over Manchester Airport brawl chaos that sparked protests after man ‘kicked in face’

Passenger Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 19, was kicked in the head as he and his brother Muhammad Amaad, 25, were restrained, it was said.

The two brothers have now been charged over the airport chaos but two cops probed over the incident will not faces charges.

After the footage emerged in the summer, protests were held across Rochdale and Manchester.

The brothers later claimed they were threatened by an officer and thrown to the ground.

As a result, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) announced a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) constable was under criminal investigation for assault.

The watchdog later said a second officer was also being probed following an alleged incident shortly afterwards when two other men were arrested.

In a separate probe, GMP passed a “comprehensive” file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service as part of its investigation after three of its officers were injured.

The force claimed armed cops were subject to a “violent” attack while trying to make an arrest at the airport.

They had been scrambled to Terminal 2 following reports of a bust-up between two groups who had travelled from Doha.

The viral video first showed an officer appearing to kicking and stamp on Amaaz’s head before he was shot with a Taser.

Further footage then emerged days later showing the lead up to the alleged attack when two female police officers were hit to the ground.

Four men – including Amaaz and his brother – were arrested on suspicion of affray and assault following the incident and were later bailed.

IOPC regional director Catherine Bates said previously: “It is clear the situation at Manchester Airport was complex and escalated rapidly.

“The incident, which resulted in injuries to police officers and members of the public, has caused understandable concern and we are working hard to piece together all of the relevant events on that day.

“In parallel, Greater Manchester Police is investigating whether any criminal offences were committed by members of the public during the initial altercation and the subsequent arrests.

“These investigations are separate, and we are liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service to establish how they can progress in parallel.”

But viewers were left mortified when her teeth fell out while walking[/caption]

Maisie shared her Turkey teeth journey on social media, revealing in the comments she spent £4,650 on her gnashers.

The British woman had her four front teeth drilled down to stumps while on holiday earlier this month along with her mum.

However the process of putting veneers in takes time, so she was given a temporary denture until her new teeth were ready.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go too well as Maisie shared a clip of them falling out.

While walking down the sunny streets of Turkey, Maisie’s teeth had fallen out of her mouth onto the street.

She said: “As if I’m just walking down the road and all after my teeth fell out on the floor.

“No, we’re not embarrassed.

“No. Oh, my God, no. Why me?”

Maisie was in hysterics as she filmed the incident but people were left horrified by what she did next.

Instead of picking the teeth up off the floor and walking back to the hotel with them, Maisie decided to grab them and put them straight back in her mouth.

The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @maisiesmith44 with over 2 million views and 55k likes.

People were quick to take to the comments torn between laughing at the situation and finding it gross.

One person wrote: ” You just pushed the dirty dentures back in your mouth.”

“Five second rule,” replied Maisie.

Another commented: “I could never be this brave enough to put this on the internet.”

“I couldn’t stop laughing,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Brutal.”

“Wait… did she rinse them off or,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “What a classy lady.”

Casualty stars reveal their real life Christmas plans – ahead of BBC drama’s dramatic festive special

Casualty stars have revealed their real-life Christmas plans – ahead of BBC drama’s dramatic festive special.

The festive special is called ‘All I Want for Christmas‘ and will air on Saturday, 21 December.

Staff at Holby City hospital are spending Christmas Day battling a blood shortage[/caption]

It is Christmas Day in the hospital and A&E is dealing with a serious blood shortage.

Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) and Cameron Micelthwaite (Barney Walsh) are on the front line saving patients.

Ahead of the Christmas special, Elinor opened up about her plans for the holidays, saying: “My little boy and I are going to Ireland. I lost my mum a few years ago, just before  Christmas, so this year I get the feeling we just need to be together.

“My mum loved Christmas and so when we come together this year, we do it in her memory. It’s not a wholly sad or wistful feeling,  we just miss her and that’s okay.”

She explained how the Christmas special uses the backdrop of the busy holiday season to explore connection.

“It’s an episode about the gift of giving and throughout, we weave in real-life stories of loss, generosity  and hope which are a visual reminder of the reality we strive to present, question and challenge in Casualty.”

Meanwhile, Barney, who presents Gladiators and is The Chase star Bradley Walsh‘s son, said: “I’m spending Christmas with family this year. I have a tight-knit family, and we always spend Christmas and the New Year together. So, Christmas dinner, party, music, and lots of fun as a  family.”

One of Cam’s patients refuses a blood transfusion and medical professionals are unable to administer blood unless patients agree to it, so the team has to do their best to keep him alive.

In the meantime, the hospital runs out of donations so Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson), volunteers to go out and collect some. But it is dark, there’s been heavy snow and the roads are icy, so he has to put his own life at risk to gather the much-needed blood.

The episode cleverly weaves in real-life stories from those involved in blood donation and key workers.

Barney added: “It’s about giving blood and what that means. This episode looks at how quickly blood supplies can deplete and what the challenges are in a hospital when you’re trying to treat patients coming in with critical injuries.

“As it’s Cam’s first Christmas as a nurse working in the ED it’s a real test for Cam, and for everyone. The sheer amount of people coming into the ED is challenging. It is a tricky shift for sure.”

Michael said: “Iain faces challenges throughout the episode in order to reflect those faced by paramedics during the Christmas period. Iain goes out in really bad weather conditions and things take a turn for the worse so he faces the challenge of getting back on time, with the blood.”

Look out for some guest stars, including Coronation Street‘s Lucy-Jo Hudson, Doc Martin‘s Tristan Sturrock, Dune’s Joseph Charles, Iris star Zoe Brough, and Spaced’s Katy Carmichael.

Casualty has been on TV since September 1986. Now in its 37th series, it is the longest-running emergency medical drama in the world.

Set in the fictional Holby City Hospital, it follows the lives of the staff and patients who come in for treatment.

Best soap affair love triangles

LOVE triangles are a fundamental part of soap-land, but which ones have become the most iconic?

EASTENDERS

Bradley/Stacey/Max: Stacey Slater began an affair with boyfriend Bradley Branning’s dad Max in 2007.

Despite their romps, Stacey still married Bradley, but their deceit came out in an iconic Christmas Day episode that year.

Grant/Sharon/Phil: Heading even further back in Walford history, EastEnders fans were gripped in the 90s as Sharon Watts had a one-night stand with her brother-in-law Phil Mitchell.

Sharon confided in best friend Michelle Fowler – not realising it was caught on tape – and her husband Grant eventually found out and played it in front of everyone at the Queen Vic.

Syed/Amira/Christian: Syed Masood was engaged to Amira before realising he had feelings for another man, Christian, which he confessed to him on his wedding day.

A devout Muslim, Syed refused to admit his true sexuality and went ahead and married Amira anyway, but when they returned, the two men started an affair before being caught in the act by Amira.

CORONATION STREET

Shelley/Peter/Lucy: Peter Barlow took the concept of a love triangle and ran with it in Coronation Street – extending it to bigamy.

He was in a relationship with Shelley Unwin but started dating Lucy Richards, and quickly married her after she fell pregnant with his son, Simon.

But it didn’t stop him also marrying Shelley, but he was eventually caught when Lucy turned up in Weatherfield and the two women confronted him.

Ken/Deidre/Mike: Back in 1982, Deirdre Barlow started sleeping with her husband’s nemesis Mike Baldwin in secret, before confessing all a year later.

When Mike turned up at the marital home, Deirdre was being throttled by her husband who then kicked her out, but years later they reconciled.

Maria/Aidan/Eva: In 2017, Aidan Connor started sleeping with girlfriend Eva Price’s best friend, Maria Connor.

Eva eventually found out and she decided to take revenge by faking a pregnancy, spending his money and planned to confront him on their wedding day.

But she had a change of heart when a remorseful Aidan confessed, and decided to marry him anyway, only for Maria to arrive and expose her fake pregnancy.

EMMERDALE

Ross/Debbie/Pete: Debbie Dingle found herself torn between two brothers, Ross and Pete Barton in 2015 in Emmerdale.

She eventually decided to marry Pete but yet again, a soap wedding day was ruined when the groom learned of his bride’s betrayal via a recording played at the wedding.

Chrissie/Robert/Aaron: Robert Sugden was married to Chrissie White and all seemed well – until he began a steamy affair with Aaron Dingle.

Robert’s ex Katie Sugden almost exposed the affair – but fell to her death before she had the chance.

However, a guilty Aaron eventually cracked and told Chrissie about the affair – after which she announced it to the whole pub.

“I never thought 2024 would’ve ended like this. Never. But there you go.”

Friends and fans rushed to comment on Kerry’s post, with Katie Price writing: “You have got this and I’m by your side everyday in every way.”

Someone else said: “Keep on smiling @kerrykatona7 things happen for a reason. Like you say you have your kids and your health. 2025 will be your year.”

And a third added: “You’ve bounced back before. You will again. And every time you get stronger. You got this.”

“Kerry hates seeing them upset, it makes her sick to her stomach so she is doing everything in her power to make sure she is constantly checking up on them.

“It’s been really hard explaining to them all why she and Ryan have separated, but she is trying to be strong for them and is putting her own heartache to one side to ensure the kids are supported.”

Kerry confirmed the sad news in her column for new! magazine last month, writing: “We are no longer together and It’s been a really tough week – I never in a million years thought this would happen.

“Without going into too much detail, there has been a breach of trust between us.”

I’ve been slammed for my kid’s ‘crazy’ Xmas list – it’s worth thousands & includes an Apple Watch but trolls blame me

A MUM has been slammed after sharing her teenage daughter’s ”crazy” Christmas wishlist which includes an Apple Watch and designer perfume.

With the festive season in full swing, many parents have been taking to TikTok to reveal what their kids have asked to be placed under the Christmas tree this year.

Amongst them is also mum Chantelle Leonna who recently uploaded a rather lengthy list of the dozens of expensive gifts her 13-year-old daughter had requested.

Some of the cult favourite items the teenager was keen to get her hands on included celeb make-up, such as Rare Beauty blush by Selena Gomez that sells for an eye-watering £22 at Space NK, as well as Miss Dior perfume which goes for around £78.

Other beauty essentials the young girl had added to the hefty list included a range of hair products, such as gel and heat spray, Victoria’s Secret body sprays, Good Girl perfume (£95 at Boots), Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush setting spray (£32 at Sephora) and Born This Way Super Coverage concealer (£31 at Too Faced).

There were also plenty of other TikTok-viral beauty products the teenage daughter wanted to find under the tree this year, such as Sol de Janeiro 68 perfume worth £24 at Sephora, Kiko lip gloss (£11.99), the cult favourite Drunk Elephant moisturiser that’s taken the internet by storm and will set you back an eye-watering £62 at Boots.

Whilst coming up with the extensive list, the young fashionista had also added several clothes she wanted to add to her wardrobe, such as leggings, jeans, tops and hoodies.

If possible, she also hoped mum Chantelle would fork out for Victoria’s Secret pyjamas (from £59), UGG trainers in black that are retailing for a whopping £140, a black Zara coat, as well as accessories from Pandora, which included rings, charms, necklace and bracelets.

The list – which was two-pages long – also saw the trendy teenager list a couple of tech goodies, such as a wireless charger and a pricey Apple Watch, which usually goes for around £300 but can set you back as much as almost £800.

Baffled by the sheer volume gifts, as well as the price of them, Chantelle chuckled and said her daughter must think she’s loaded.

”She must think I’m married to Elon [Musk] or something,” the mum wrote in the caption of the video.

Since being posted on the platform, where Chantelle regularly shares content under the username @chantelleleonna, the clip has racked up close to 115k views in one day, sparking a fierce debate.

Many, for instance, reckoned this generation is ”a different breed” and they didn’t ask for such lavish gifts as teenagers,

”Crikey at 13 I wanted a Shell suit, a Walkman and the latest Now Thats What I Call Music!!!” wrote one person.

Another chimed in: ”I’m 31 and I honestly don’t even know what 2/3 of that stuff is.”

Someone else added: ”Influenced into 90% of those items – sad really but my 2 are the same.”

A fellow mum wrote: ”My step son asked for a gaming laptop worth £700 so I got him it then he asked what else did I get him.

Can You Gift Property to your Children?

The experts at Thomas Bradley & Co put together a guide on parents gifting property to children...

Yes, if you own your home and do not have an outstanding mortgage – you can gift the house to your children.

The most common way to gift your home is known by a Transfer for Nil Consideration, popularly known as a Deed of Gift.

When you gift your property, you will also reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax (IHT) you need to pay.

However, before you start planning for this you must meet the four conditions that allow you to successfully gift property to your child.

  1. Be of sound mind and not acting under pressure.
  2. Be listed as the owner with the HM Land Registry.
  3. Have no outstanding mortgage on the property. If you do have an outstanding mortgage, you can transfer equity instead.
  4. Ensure that there is no charge secured against the property.

You can stay in the property once you have gifted it to your children. However, you must:

  • Pay rent at the same rate as similar local rental properties.
  • Pay bills.

If you remain in the property rent free after ownership has been transferred, the property will not be exempt from Inheritance Tax (IHT).

”Boy we are in cost of living crisis. Bare in mind games for it an accessories for it ain’t cheap.”

However, there were also those who insisted that Chantelle had no one to blame but herself. as one said: ”Aaand that’s on you! My kid asked for lego.”

”You raised it,” a second critic agreed.

Hitting back at the trolls, the mum replied and said she’s ”also raised one who asked for a kindle, it’s just who they are doesn’t mean it’s how they’re raised”.

”My children also get a budget, she won’t get all of this. This is just items she likes the idea of.

”I don’t raise shy girls, I like them to know what they want and know how to get it. Life’s too hard these days.”

Strictly star Toyah Willcox reveals mortifying moment she accidentally flashed fans on social media

STRICTLY star Toyah Willcox has revealed how a TikTok blunder led to the ‘most embarrassing moment of her life’.

The mishap unfolded when singer Toyah and her husband, musician Robert Fripp, were recording a new video for their social channels, which have amassed more than 120 million views.

After her online slip up Toyah is taking part in a campaign to promote the benefits and reliability of technology to older people
Emma Trimble/PinPep

Toyah, 66, accidentally left the camera rolling and it captured the star in her underwear as she went about her daily routine.

“It was one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever done,” confessed Toyah.

“My husband Robert and I were dressed as unicorns for a video we were filming and I left the camera on afterwards.

“It was running for about 45 minutes and showed me getting dressed and getting ready and my team were watching and nobody told me!

“I was just getting on with my day. I was in my underwear and I cleaned my teeth, I was singing, walking around and I cleaned the bath.

“My team was desperate for me to turn the camera off. When I realised what I’d done I apologised profusely. I was so embarrassed.”

Toyah’s tech fail confession comes as research, commissioned by Smart Energy GB, revealed that 26 per cent of over-65s want to get better at using technology – but feel held back.

A poll of 1,000 over-65s found that 20 per cent are nervous about using video-calling tech, or voice-activated assistants.

Barriers keeping older adults from adopting modern devices include online privacy concerns, and the large upfront cost.

While 41 per cent feel the rapid pace of technological change makes them less likely to pick up modern tech.

It also emerged 32 per cent wouldn’t feel confident setting up a piece of tech and 27 per cent worry they would not know how to use it once it was ready to go.

Despite the concerns, 53 per cent feel new technologies have the potential to make their life easier.

With 78 per cent agreeing smart meters could benefit them, through automated meter readings and accurate billing.

And 34 per cent believe that a smart watch could help track their health more effectively.

As 85 per cent know technology can save time and money as well as it being an easy way to stay in touch with friends and family.

Smart Energy GB is working with Toyah to share her experiences of new technology.

The singer-songwriter and actress said: “Technology is advancing so quickly that I sometimes find it tricky to know which gadgets to get and how to use them.

“I do a lot of research, like speaking to friends and family, to help me decide which devices will be simple to use and make my life easier.

“Sometimes I have concerns and then realise they were unfounded, like with my smart meter – I actually found it very easy to use.

“They send automatic readings to your supplier so you can forget about meter readings, and you know your bills will be accurate and the portable display shows how much energy you are using.”

The study also found 76 per cent of those polled rely on younger people to help them out with tech issues.

Half admit they would back more energy efficient, sustainable homes powered by tech, according to the OnePoll stats.

Nearly as many (47 per cent) look forward to cleaner energy developments, for example air source heat pumps to warm homes, while 39 per cent would welcome smart security in their home.

A spokesperson for Smart Energy GB said: “Technology can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when it changes so rapidly.

“Not all tech necessarily makes life easier.

“But some gadgets and devices, like smart meters, are intuitive and user-friendly, crafted with simplicity in mind so that everyone can benefit, however tech savvy you might be.”

10 PIECES OF TECH THAT OVER-65s ARE UNSURE THEY WANT TO TRY

  • 1. Augmented reality devices
    2. Virtual Reality (VR) headsets
    3. Ride-sharing apps
    4. Electric vehicles
    5. Video calling platforms
    6. Voice-activated assistants
    7. Digital payment systems

Last-minute change to Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch with late replacement drafted in due to illness

TYSON FURY’S blockbuster rematch with Oleksandr Usyk has been subjected to a late change, reports suggest.

But rather than any fighters being drafted in at the last-minute, the change relates to the judges who will be overseeing the fight.

Puerto Rico’s Gerardo Martinez, Chicago’s Patrick Morley and Miami’s Fernando Barbosa were originally set to score the historic clash.

However, boxing journalist, Keith Idec, has reported that Barbosa has been taken ill and did not fly to Riyadh.

Consequently, Steve Weisfeld of New Jersey is said to have stepped in to fill the void.

Weisfeld was a judge on Usyk’s first match with Anthony Joshua in 2021, scoring the Cat a 116-112 winner.

He also scored Fury ahead of Deontay Wilder in the second and third fights in their trilogy in 2020 and 2021 respectively, although his services were not required due to the Gypsy King scoring KOs in both.

Weisfeld has led an illustrious career stretching back to 1991, with over 2000 fights under his belt, and has largely avoided controversy in that time.

Robert Ramirez Jr of Puerto Rico has been picked as the referee.

Usyk and Fury’s first fight in May garnered its share of controversy.

The Ukrainian edged the contest 115-112 to Usyk, 114-113 to Fury, and 114-113 to Usyk.

Meanwhile, a new experiment will also see an AI-powered fourth judge submit a scorecard for the fight as part of a groundbreaking experiment.

Announcing the news, Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh wrote on social media: “For the first time ever, an AI-powered judge will monitor the fight.

“Free from bias and human error brought to you by The Ring.

“This groundbreaking experiment, which won’t impact the official results, debuts during the biggest fight of the century, #Usyk2Fury, on December 21.”

It’s been three years since his character, Steve Arnott, graced our screens in the hugely poplar BBC hit about a police anti-corruption unit known as AC-12.

Since the series left our screens, in May 2021, fans have eagerly been awaiting news on whether we’ll be seeing more of Martin and his co-star Vicky McClure, who plays Kate Flemming.

Keen to dig for information, radio host Chris didn’t miss an opportunity to ask Martin whether there was any news on a future comeback.

It’s a question the actor is used to fielding and he said: “I love that people ask and the love that people have. When people stop asking about it it’ll be a sad day.”

“I do love that but, you don’t want to give fans false hope because people get excited.”

Then in a blow to expectant viewers he continued: “We’re not planning anything immediately. We’d love to do another one at some point but we’re all working next year on other stuff.”

Chris cheekily mirrored many fan’s feelings with his reply: “Well stop working on other stuff, stop being so selfish.”

There was a little sliver of hope for lovers of the gritty drama though as Martin didn’t rule out a future series entirely.

He said “I’m hopeful and sure we’ll get to it at some point but honestly once we’re going to do it you’ll hear it from us first.

The show, which was originally filmed in Birmingham and moved production to Belfast, has been a phenomenal hit, picking up a string of awards and nominations over its six series.

The finale of the last series was watched by over 13 million viewers and saw the anti-corruption unit’s future in question as it faces a restructure.

Ever since, fans have been keen to find out it lead characters Kate and Steve can pull things together.

Whilst speaking on his Radio X show Chris asked about the constant speculation surrounding the future of the programme.

He said: “Does it become a pain if the three of you are in the same place at the same time and if you say oh we should meet for a coffee, does one of you go oh we can’t because if someone takes a picture they’ll be like oh they’re filming.”

Martin laughed and replied: “People are always great but it comes out in the papers the next day. I understand it, in some ways it’s a backwards compliment.

All six series of Line of Duty are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
