Yahya Sinwar ‘suspected DEAD’ as IDF probes claims elusive Hamas leader dubbed ‘Gaza’s Bin Laden’ has been assassinated

ISRAEL are investigating claims they may have assassinated elusive Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in an airstrike.

Gaza’s Bin Laden, 61, has been Israel’s main target ever since he masterminded the horrific October 7 massacre with fresh reports saying he might have finally been eliminated.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has vowed to destroy the terror kingpin with him escaping from their clutches for months.

An IDF statement earlier today announced their potential mammoth scalp.

They said: “During an activity by IDF fighters in the Gaza Strip, three terrorists were killed.

“The IDF and Shin Bet are investigating the possibility that one of the terrorists is Yahya Sinwar.

“At this stage, the identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed.”

Sinwar has been the head of Hamas in Gaza since 2017 but was recently bumped up to chief after the suspected Israeli assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.

Last man standing Sinwar spent half of his adult life in Israeli prisons, has a reputation as a ruthless leader and is now the most powerful target left on Israel’s kill list.

The terror boss is believed to have been in hiding in tunnels under the city to evade the IDF, transport weapons and even hold hostages.

How quickly can you solve the challenge?

Don’t be distracted by the happy family – you will need to concentrate carefully to find the duck and bird.

Use a timer to put yourself to the test against the clock.

Make sure to scan every nook and cranny of this tricky brainteaser.

You will need great attention to detail and composure to succeed in this challenge as all is not what it seems.

Picture puzzles are a form of brain teaser that tests the reader’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

These challenges have the potential to boost intelligence and improve concentration.

If you find this challenge too easy, or enjoy testing your brain, have a look at our other optical illusions.

To make things harder, try figuring out what’s wrong with this image of smiling women as you count their legs in 11 seconds.

Or you might want to prove you have a 20/20 vision as you search for a strawberry in this carnival scene.

Did you know that optical illusions have an array of benefits for your mind and body?

How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?

Engaging in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.

Some benefits include:

  • Cognitive stimulation: Engaging in these activities challenges the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
  • Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Memory improvement: These challenges often require memory recall and can contribute to better memory function.
  • Creativity: They encourage thinking outside the box, fostering creativity and innovative thought processes.
  • Focus and attention: Working on optical illusions and brainteasers requires concentration, contributing to improved focus.
  • Stress relief: The enjoyable nature of these puzzles can act as a form of relaxation and stress relief.

Psychologists at The University of Glasgow found that staring at an optical illusion can improve eye sight by allowing you to see small print.

Escape London says puzzles can also give your mind a great workout and may “boost your brain’s activity” which “reduces the risk of dementia.”

Still haven’t found the duck and bat?

Here’s a helpful hint: Look at the dog’s feet and in between the children.

If you’ve found them in less than 12 seconds, well done!

For those who didn’t, they’re circled below.

Keep your brain engaged and have a go at our three other illusions.

Brave Liam Payne admits ‘I don’t know if I’ve hit rock bottom yet’ as heartbreaking clip resurfaces after hotel tragedy

A HEARTBREAKING clip of Liam Payne bravely admitting his struggles with fame and mental health has resurfaced after the star’s tragic death.

The One Direction star passed away aged 31 after falling to his death from a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

And as the world mourns the loss of the beloved singer, a video of Liam’s candid interview on The Diary of a CEO podcast in 2021 showed the extent of the pain he endured behind closed doors.

The Brit opened up about the overwhelming pressures he faced during his rise to fame with One Direction, admitting that he was unsure whether he had already reached rock bottom.

“I was worried how far my rock bottom was going to be. Where’s rock bottom for me? And you would never have seen it. I’m very good at hiding it,” he confessed.

“I don’t even know if I’ve hit it yet.

“I can either make that choice now and pick my last moment as my rock bottom or I can make a whole new low.”

The Wolverhampton-born star first stepped into the public eye as a teenager, auditioning for The X Factor at the age of 14.

His second appearance on the show, two years later, led to the formation of One Direction, a group that would go on to dominate the music charts worldwide.

Despite their success, Liam often spoke about the dark side of fame, revealing how the constant media attention and pressure from being in the spotlight took a significant toll on his mental health.

One of the more painful admissions from Liam’s interview was his battle with alcohol, which began during his time with the band.

It comes as:

As One Direction skyrocketed to fame, the group members were often confined to hotel rooms, where mini-bars were their only outlet.

“The best way to secure us was to lock us in our rooms, and what is in the room? A mini-bar,” the ex-1D band-member told the podcast.

“So I had a party-for-one that seemed to carry on for many years of my life.”

Liam was brutally honest about his health issues in recent years.

His journey through fame came with its costs as he disclosed that he had suffered from social anxiety and struggled to maintain his mental well-being while under immense pressure.

Despite the joyful moments of his meteoric rise to fame, Liam’s struggles with mental health, addiction, and the weight of his stardom were a constant undercurrent.

He had been working on his sobriety in recent years, candidly discussing his difficult relationship with alcohol.

He admitted that he spent time in a US wellness clinic after he “hit rock bottom”.

He also told how a mystery respiratory illness left him floored in 2021.

Liam admitted turning to alcohol and drugs to hide how he struggled to cope with One Direction’s dizzying levels of fame — which would spark panic attacks and high levels of exhaustion.

Comment: Howell Davies on Liam Payne

by Howell Davies, Associate Bizarre Editor

LIAM was warm, a little bit goofy and the dad – figuratively, not literally – in One Direction, who always kept everyone in check and gave the people what they wanted.

He was the spokesperson of the group, speaking up while the others fooled around or shrunk into the background.

I interviewed him lots of times over the years, first of all back in December 2014 when I was a fledgling reporter and he was still one fifth of the world’s most famous boyband.

On that night at the BBC Music Awards in West London, they squeezed onto a sofa and Liam spoke animatedly while his bandmate Zayn Malik barely said a word.

He was friendly and the most professional of the group because he knew his role was to hold things together.

You could tell he was eager to please, even then.

But I would hear whispers from behind the scenes that all was not well.

He was abusing alcohol and his love life was a rollercoaster.

Things came to a head in the final year of One Direction and those working around him made it clear that it was a relief he would finally have some time off to be a normal guy in his early twenties – after years spent pin-balling across the glove in a haze of screams from fans.

It was shocking to me that at 22 he had been in the industry for years and years, while I, just a year older, was only just starting my career.

I still felt like a kid, but he was one of the most talked-about people in the world.

He came across as erratic in interviews by making bizarre claims, including that Cowell built One Direction around his talents and that his solo career has been the most successful of all his bandmates.

The star died instantly from multiple injuries including a fractured skull after tragically falling from a third-floor hotel balcony.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at the Casa Sur in Buenos Aires on Wednesday evening but Liam was declared dead.

Cops found Liam dead in the hotel’s inner courtyard at around 5pm local time (9pm UK time) when they arrived.

A post-mortem is expected to be carried out later today in Buenos Aires.

Heartbroken fans have gathered outside the hotel for candlelit vigils with many leaving flowers and hand-written messages fixed to a tree.

A bouquet of white carnations was decorated with a heart-shaped ornament which said: “Te Amo” – “I Love You” in Spanish.

The singer was in Buenos Aires for pal and former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan’s tour.

Liam had shared a post on Snapchat only minutes before his death showing himself with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy looking into a mirror.

Tributes have poured in for the singer with celebrities and fans alike sharing their heartbreak.

Harry Styles‘ mum shared a heartbreaking tribute on Instagram writing in the caption: “Just a boy…”.

And Liam’s ex-fiancée Maya Henry was ” in shock” in the wake of the tragic news.

Tributes to Liam Payne

SHOCKED fans have started to flood Liam Payne's last Instagram post with sad tributes as news of the singer's death emerges.

Broadcaster Rylan Clark said RIP Liam: “Extremely sad news. V tragic and so young.”

Charlie Puth, who was friends with Liam and also collaborated with him on a song called Bedroom Floor, has posted a series of Instagram stories dedicated to him.

Alongside photos of the two of them together in their younger days, Charlie wrote: “I am in shock right now. Liam was always so kind to me.

“He was one of the first major artists I got to work with. I can not believe he is gone…

“I am so upset right now, may he rest in peace. I am so sorry…”

German DJ Anton Zaslavski, otherwise known as Zedd, has taken to X with a devastated statement.

The producer, who worked with Liam on his 2017 hit Get Low, wrote: “RIP Liam… I can’t believe this is real…absolutely heartbreaking…”

Irish singer duo Jedward also took to social media, saying: “RIP Liam Payne. Condolences to friends and family.”

In another tweet, they added: “Sending strength to Cheryl and his son Bear. And all the One direction Family. RIP Liam Payne.”

American media personality Paris Hilton shared: “So upsetting to hear the news of Liam Payne passing. Sending love and condolences to his family & loved ones. RIP my friend.”

F1 organisers confirm change to track after Max Verstappen complained as title race set to come down to the wire

ORGANISERS of the US Grand Prix have confirmed a major change has been made for this year’s Formula One race.

After a three-week break, F1 returns with the title battle well and truly on between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.

The rivals are separated by just 52 points with six grand prix weekends to go.

However, as the Drivers’ Championship heads into crunch time, track chiefs at this weekend’s race of Circuit of the Americas in Texas, have confirmed the course has been fully resurfaced with new asphalt.

It follows a complaint Verstappen made last year.

The Austin track has always been a bumpy ride for drivers, however, last year’s edition proved particularly problematic.

Both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified following the race when they were found to have excessive wear on the planks underneath their cars.

Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso was forced to retire mid-event after smashing up his car floor.

Verstappen, 27, won both the sprint and feature race at COTA last year on route to his third F1 title, but was very vocal about the problems he and his fellow drivers endured during the race.

The flying Dutchman said at the time: “It needs to be redone because at the moment it feels like it’s better suited to a rally car. I’m jumping and bouncing around.

“In an F1 car probably you don’t even see it as much because, of course, we are glued to the ground because of the downforce, but the bumps and jumps that we have in some places, this is way too much.

“I don’t think it’s F1 level. I love this track.

“Honestly, the layout is amazing but we definitely need new tarmac and it needs to be a lot smoother for the coming years, because we already asking for this for I think quite a few years, and it’s not really been done.”

Fast forward to this weekend, and race promoter Bobby Epstein has revealed the Red Bull driver’s complaint was a factor in finally getting the much-needed work done.

He said: “It was mainly to get rid of the bumps. Some of that track was 12 years old, so it was time.

“I know Max gave it a pretty poor review last year, so I hope we hear something positive. I’m certain we’re going to hear, ‘This is like a totally new track. It’s fantastic’.”

As well as a resurfaced track, some of the verges have been narrowed and replaced with turf in an effort to reduce track limit violations.

🏁 Complete F1 2024 race calendar – details on every Grand Prix and start time this year 🏁

Like last year, Verstappen is in the drivers seat to win the title.

However, this time he is at a disadvantage due to the fact that Norris, 24, has a quicker car and has hit a strong run of form that has seen the Brit win two of the last four races.

That being said, Norris needs to outscore Verstappen by almost nine points (8.67) every weekend to complete the greatest comeback in the sport’s history.

COTA will kick off a second series of three sprint and feature race double headers to finish the season.

A standard one-race weekend in Mexico will follow a week later before Brazil sees the penultimate sprint and feature race weekend.

This will give way to another two-week break before F1 returns in Las Vegas.

Vegas will then be followed by the final sprint weekend of the season in Qatar, before the season finale plays out in Abu Dhabi on December 8.

F1 reporter Isabelle Barker's prediction

I EXPECT Max Verstappen to go all guns blazing over the next six-rounds. I also think his experience and aggression could give him the edge.

It seems too little too late for Norris showing consistency, despite that dominant win in Singapore last time out.

You can’t help think what could have been had he sorted out his first-lap issues sooner.

Norris needs to prove he has the mental fortitude, because we all know he’s got the speed, the team and the fastest car.

Verstappen has endured an eight-race winless streak, but he has still managed to score points, with three second-places during that time.

So I think the Dutchman will lift his fourth world-title this season, by the skin of his teeth.

F1 2025 grid

Here are the confirmed driver line ups for the F1 2025 season so far:

Red Bull: Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez

Ferrari: Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton

Mercedes: George Russell and Kimi Antonelli

McLaren: Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri

Aston Martin: Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll

Williams: Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz

Sauber: Nico Hulkenberg and TBC

Alpine: Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan

RB: Yuki Tsunoda and TBC

Haas: Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon

King Charles jets off from Heathrow Airport ahead of gruelling nine-day Australia tour with 36 engagements

King Charles is jetting off from Heathrow Airport ahead of his gruelling nine-day Australia tour – with 36 engagements planned.

Charles, 75, was pictured arriving at Heathrow Airport to catch a commercial airline ahead of the eight-day trip.

The King has only packed three suitcases[/caption]

He was driven to the airport’s five-star Windsor Suite in a convoy of vehicles this morning.

Staff were seen picking out only three suitcases from the back of the King’s vehicle for his eight-day trip Down Under and State Visit to Samoa.

But it is understood the plane will be packed with its luggage for his royal entourage.

He will be met by Camilla in Singapore who is travelling separately after a private break.

They will both then change flights and head on to Sydney and arrive late on Friday night for an official welcome.

Charles, 75, who has been treated for cancer since he was diagnosed in February, and wife Camilla, 77, will have a ‘rest day’ on Saturday.

Claims he will watch the $20million Everest race at Randwick are believed to be wide of the mark.

He kicks off the trip in Sydney on Sunday before visiting Canberra and speaking at the opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) next week.

It comes as several Aussie State Premieres have snubbed an invite to meet the King.

But a recent poll revealed Aussies are less in favour of ditching the King for a Republic than during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

He is flying 10,500 miles Down Under becoming the first monarch to visit since 2011.

The trip includes a party at Sydney Opera House and he will deliver a speech at Parliament House in Canberra.

He will hold a poignant face-to-face with two pioneering cancer doctors during his trip.

Despite his cancer treatment he will still pack in 36 engagements on eight days with Queen Camilla.

The trip also includes a State Visit to Samoa in the South Pacific – where he will make an address at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Charles, 75, announced he had cancer in February and spent two months off front line engagements while he had weekly treatment.

He ordered aides to “supercharge” efforts to travel to Oz in April after positive reaction to treatment.

Sources close to the King insist his treatment is on an ‘upward trajectory’ and he will travel Down Under with royal doctors.
