Teen influencer with Down’s syndrome dies aged just 16 after charting brave cancer battle online to 3million fans

A TEENAGE influencer with Down’s syndrome has tragically died following a battle with cancer.

Paula Cisneros, 16, helped raise awareness about her genetic condition and was loved by her almost three million fans on Instagram and TikTok.

Her family and friends have been left heartbroken with sister Sara, 29, paying tribute.

She reported Paula’s death and said: “From today, our girl with the eternal smile rests, smiles, dances and sings without pain and without medication.

“Paula, you have won over life, because in less than 17 years you have known how to live it, enjoy it and hold on tight, and because you have known how to win over every person who crosses your path.

“We love you with all our hearts, Mum, Sara, Dad, Audrey, Leea and everyone who knows you.

“We see each other in our stars every day.”

On 12 December last year Sara revealed that her younger sibling had been diagnosed with cancer.

Paula’s fans became concerned after Sara, who is also an influencer, shared a video of herself visiting her sister at the hospital in November.

After undergoing various tests it was confirmed that Paula, who was from the Extremadura region in Spain, had a sarcoma.

Paula used her social media to provide an insight into what daily life was like for her to her followers.

She often spoke out about living with Down’s syndrome and openly discussed other’s opinions on the condition – as well as sharing her journey with cancer.

Sara often shared posts on her social media which involved her sister, with the pair appearing to be incredibly close.

Mouthwashing is the breakout horror hit everyone is talking about but I didn’t get it

IN reviews I try to avoid spoilers as much as possible, but Mouthwashing is a game best experienced blind.

If you are planning to play the retro-style horror hit about five people stranded on a spaceship, then I recommend you don’t read this.

And they are thrown into horrifying situations[/caption]

Everyone is talking about how chilling Mouthwashing is, and how, despite the sci-fi situation, it’s somehow very relatable.

And that praise is earned. It’s very easy to get involved in the lives of these five characters over its short two to three hours of runtime.

It’s told in a non-linear sequence, which adds to the atmosphere as you are confused as to what to do or when you are doing it.

You also switch between different characters’ viewpoints, which adds tension and uncertainty.

However, I agree with players that some of the other horror elements are not well executed.

It opens on an overly long, trippy corridor section with unnecessary jumpscares, and there’s another weak point in a first-person shooting section.

While these sections are weak, the characters are the main focus, and for me some of these weren’t strong enough to carry the story.

My problem surrounds most players’ favourite and least favourite characters, and they feel this strongly about both of them because they are fully invested.

The character people seem to hate the most seems to me to be unendingly evil.

You might not realise their true character at first, but as soon as you do, you can see that their every action is rooted in selfishness and evil.

Mouthwashing often pushes the message that you shouldn’t judge people by the worst thing they did, but there seems to be no redeeming characteristic to create a balance.

The most loved character experiences tragedy, but I failed to see their agency outside of a plot point to show that others are evil.

Everything they do surrounds this tragic incident, and the minimal background story is pushed to the side to make this their central feature.

Mouthwashing doesn’t tell you anything explicitly, and it could be that I missed further nuance in the dialogue.

There was a lot I liked about Mouthwashing, but I didn’t have the life-changing experience that it seems most people felt while playing.

The main thing I took away from my Mouthwashing playthrough after reading all of the fan opinions was that I just didn’t get it.

Michael Vick’s Fox NFL Sunday future in doubt after taking up huge new career venture

MICHAEL Vick is set for a major career change after accepting a college football head coaching position.

Vick is reportedly the next head coach at Norfolk State University.

Vick will likely have to leave his position at Fox Sports for the job[/caption]

According to David Teel, Vick is taking over the job after the University fired former head coach Dawson Odums.

Odums went 15-30 over his four years at Norfolk State.

Vick signing with Norfolk State is a bit of a surprise, as he was reportedly in deep talks with Sacramento State for their vacant head coaching position.

The president of the university even spoke about his meeting with Vick with ESPN.

“He has expressed interest in the position and yes I did meet with him about his interest in Sac State football and our athletic rise,” president Luke Wood told ESPN.

“As you can imagine, given the success of our athletic programs that our football head coach job is an attractive role.”

Sacramento State has extremely ambitious plans for their football program, with $50 million set aside for NIL, according to NFL reporter Adam Schefter.

The school also plans to build a new stadium and move up to the FBS level in either the Pac-12 or Mountain West conference.

Obviously the Sacramento State pitch wasn’t good enough, as Vick took the job with Norfolk State.

Norfolk State had an advantage though, as the campus is close to Vick’s hometown on Newport News, Virginia.

Now that Vick has accepted the job with Norfolk State, he will likely have to leave his duties with Fox Sports as an NFL analyst.

Vick starred on Fox NFL Kickoff on Sundays to preview the day’s action coming up.

His show aired in the hour before Fox NFL Sunday.

Vick likely can’t hold both roles during the college football season but could make remote appearances or star on the show after the NCAA season ends.

Regardless of whether he keeps his TV job or not, football fans are excited to see how Vick does as a coach in college football.

I tried a self-heating travel mug that keeps tea at the perfect temperature for hours – and it’s impossible to lose

THE self-heating travel mug once sported by Rishi Sunak could be the perfect gift for the ‘techy’ friend or family member who just seems to have it all.

The Ember Travel Mug 2+ keeps tea or coffee at the perfect temperature for hours, and connects to Apple’s Find My network – making it impossible to lose.

This leak-proof flask uses an app on your iPhone or Android to control the internal temperature, and make sure you don’t scald your mouth on a hot cuppa.

On the flipside, it can stop the ice cubes from melting and diluting your iced coffee in the summer.

Rating 4/5

Pros:

  • It can pair with Apple’s Find My network.
  • The lid is actually leak proof.
  • The design is sleek and stylish.
  • It isn’t too heavy.

Cons:

  • It’s not machine washable – you must wash it by hand only.
  • The battery lasts three hours maximum.
  • Available only in black.
  • No USB charger.

Ember Travel Mug 2+: a Quick Summary

While this is not exactly an essential product – it is pretty cool.

While a traditional flask keeps a beverage hot for a long time – it starts much too hot, and gets cooler much more slowly.

And only for a brief moment will your beverage be the ideal temperature – before it gets too cold.

The Ember flask quickly cools your drink to the perfect temperature – and holds that temperature for roughly three hours.

I certainly don’t miss burning my tongue on a molten flask of coffee, either.

As part of the test, I used the Ember travel mug for three weeks – both at home and on my commute to work.

The Ember app tells you the optimal temperature for your beverage, with a herbal tea (my go-to) being 57degrees.

Although, 355ml of soup works too.

Full Review

On first impressions, this is a semi-luxury product.

While you might not immediately associate the Ember Travel Mug 2+ with luxury, the sleek design, packaging and price point suggest otherwise.

Inside the box is the mug itself, a charger, charging cable, instructions – plus stickers with the Ember logo.

As soon as I opened the box, I put the flask on its charging station.

Two hours later, it’s fully charged – indicated by the full battery logo that glows through the mug.

It was easy to set up, despite the flask not having any physical buttons.

Occasionally, flashy products that rely on an app can have the iOS or Android platform let them down.

But the Ember app is easy to navigate.

Each morning I would take the Ember mug off its charging station, and fill it with herbal tea.

The tea would clock in at a temperature just below boiling.

Through the app – or the touch-assisted temperature dial on the flask – the Ember mug would quickly bring the heat down to the ideal sipping temperature.

The app also has tips to improve the battery life, as well as trendy tea and coffee recipes.

The flask kept a herbal tea hot at a steady 57degrees exactly from 7:40am to 11am – so slightly longer than the advertised battery life.

The tea stays hot for a few minutes, but by 11:30 it is barely warm and bordering on cold.

It is heavier than a traditional flask – but that’s no issue.

It’s also a similar size to a normal travel mug, making it easy to store.

How much is the Ember Travel Mug 2+?

The Ember Travel Mug 2+ is £199.95/$199.95 in the UK and the US.

Although the product is currently reduced at Currys, where it is only £159.

It has been even further reduced at Healf, where it is available for £144.99.

Where to buy

The high-tech travel mug is available to buy at a handful of retailers – even Apple’s online store, thanks to its Find My integration.

Alternatives

There aren’t too many alternatives around.

The Smart Travel Mug from UK-based Nebula Appliances is its closest rival – with the same battery life and fitting the same 355ml worth of liquid.

The Nebula alternative typically costs £99 on Amazon – but is now reduced to £79.99.

The Verdict

As someone who is a nightmare for forgetting a cup of tea until it’s stone cold – I was impressed by the Ember Travel Mug 2+.

It’s incredibly easy to use, has a smooth set-up – and looks pretty sleek and stylish on the walk to the train station each morning.

The price is lofty, and while it isn’t exactly an essential, it is a nice gadget to have on hand.

If you want to splurge, or need a gift idea for a techy friend who seems to have everything, it’s a cool option.
