‘Worth every penny’ people cry over 82p gadget that will get rid of condensation and mould in your home

WITH the colder weather sweeping in, it’s not just the thought of putting the heating on that people are worrying about.

Many households are already struggling to banish condensation on their windows since the arrival of autumn.

The interior dehumidifiers work out at just 82p each if you buy in bulk[/caption]

Windows often serve as moisture hot spots, even in homes fitted with double or triple glazing.

But some savvy shoppers have found a bargain buy that can solve the problem without affecting their energy bills.

The interior dehumidifiers are being hailed as the “best thing” for banishing condensation and avoiding any mouldy or damp spots in your home.

A 40-pack of the interior dehumidifiers are currently on offer for £32.99 on TikTok Shop, where shoppers have been raving over them.

By buying in bulk, it also works out at just 82p per item.

Each tub contains hydrophillic crystals which help to absorb and retain moisture from the air.

This, in turn, reduces the risk of any damp, mildew, mould or condensation.

It’s easy to use too. All you have to do is remove the seal and you’re good to go.

So it’s no wonder the interior dehumidifiers have already racked up countless five-star reviews from satisfied customers.

One gushed: “I use these tbh one of the best things, I put one in each room and even bathroom as well. It works!”

“These are amazing I use them all the time”, chimed in a second.

A third wrote: “Started using these a few years ago.

“Place one in each room. Used to have a problem with damp and mould in some rooms in my flat, but these seemed to have helped!”

A fifth insisted: “Worth every penny.”

Meanwhile, a sixth said: “We buy these! It’s insane how much moisture is in each room!!”

If you fancy getting your hands on a small crystal dehumidifier for your home, but don’t use TikTok Shop, don’t worry – there are plenty of other stockists to choose from.

Whilst large dehumidifiers can turn out to be quite pricey, the small ones can be found in Poundland for only 80p, at Asda for £1.25 and at The Range for just £1.49.

What is mould and how to get rid of it?

Mould is more likely to grow during the winter months.

Olivia Young, Product Development Scientist at Astonish revealed exactly why this is.

“Unfortunately, mould is a common problem many people face during winter. It thrives in conditions that are warm and damp, so your bathrooms are likely to be the most affected place.

“That said, during the colder months most rooms in your home could be vulnerable to mould growing.

“This occurs primarily from condensation that builds up on your windows when you’ve got your radiators on.

“If you think about it, when windows and doors are closed, there’s not much chance for the air to circulate and the moisture to make a swift exit.

“This build up is what can cause dreaded mould to make an appearance, especially in bathrooms, as it creates that warm and wet environment that is a breeding ground for mould.

“If left untreated, not only is it unsightly but it can also pose a serious risk to your health, so it’s really important you treat it.

“The key to tackle mould is to act fast.

“Try to come into as little contact with it as you can. So, grab your gloves, tie up your hair and get to work to remove any signs of mould as soon as you notice them.

“To keep mould at bay, there are some simple solutions you can introduce throughout home.

“The first is keep it ventilated. Yes, even in the cold winter months try to leave your bathroom window open for at least 10/15 minutes post shower or bath. This will get rid of any excess moisture quickly preventing mould gathering.

“If you’re having a repeat problem with mould in one particular area, it might be because the humidity levels are too high. You can get a dehumidifier that will help keep the levels low and reduce the risk of mould returning.

“The golden rule to remember when dealing with mould is the quicker you can treat it, the better. If you leave it, it will only get worse so never ignore it!

“To successfully get rid of mould every time, I recommend opting for the UK’s No 1 Mould & Mildew Remover, that effectively removes mould and mildew stains almost instantly, with no scrubbing necessary.”

Nick, 40, filmed his impressive hair-revamp in a video posted to his Instagram Stories page where he gushed “Ooh that texture.”

The Dish podcast host captured his new look on his phone while London-based stylist Ricky Walters held a mirror behind his head.

As he swirled around on the chair A-list stylist Ricky said: “Is that a little texture I see? Hello!

“Ooh yeah look at that texture. Look at those layers!”

Nick, giggling at the pair’s light-hearted banter, repeated his words and added: “Bloody hell.”

In his caption, he added: “I love my haircut and your nonsense, dream afternoon with TEXTURE fan.”

TOP CLASS

Ricky owns Salon64 in London’s Bateman Street, Soho, and is no stranger to a celeb client.

He previously exclusively said he would love to get his hands on X Factor judge Simon Cowell’s barnet.

Ricky also admitted he would also love to give former Prime Minister Boris Johnson a much-needed mega hair makeover.

He said: “Over the years I’ve styled hair for Sandra BullockWill.i.am and Arnold Schwarzenegger – all of my clients are very special.

“If I could pick any celebrity to do next – I would pick Simon Cowell.

“I reckon he has quite tough hair, I’d like to have a go at it.

“I feel like I could get my hands on his hair and do a good fade on that head of hair.”

Ricky, who started his hairdressing career at the age of 16 in a small salon in Pinner, said he’d also work his magic on some of the world’s most famous politicians.

“I’d like to do Boris Johnson and Donald Trump’s hair – I think these guys could all do with a little bit of attention,” he laughed.

His Instagram page describes him as a “builder of brands. Cutter of hair. Professional conversationalist.”

Images show him with clients including Made in Chelsea’s Emily Blackwell, Strictly’s Rose Ayling Ellis and model Jodie Kidd.

The salon also now boasts a private members club side of the business, dubbed CLUB64.

ON TOP

Ricky’s success comes after he left school with no GCSEs.

He previously explained: “The shock of entering the real world at 16 with no qualifications partnered with my love of the idea of earning my own income was a wake-up call.

“I completed my training in a Mayfair hair salon first, and then moved to a likeminded competitor to start building a client base.

“So I was cutting hair within a five star London hotel, rubbing shoulders with plenty of people of influence and celebrities.”

Now at the top of his game, his graft has paid off.

TikToker Rachel Yaffe looked frail & spoke bluntly about her ‘worst days’ in heartbreaking final post before death at 27

THE heartbreaking final posts of a TikTok star have been revealed after she died at 27 from liver cancer.

Rachel Yaffe fought the rare disease for seven years before her death on October 11.

Yaffe looked frail in her last TikTok, posted on September 1[/caption]

The TikToker was known for documenting her health to over 55,000 followers on the social media platform.

In her final post on September 1, over a month before her death, Yaffe looked frail as she spoke about her latest round of radiation.

Yaffe said she felt weak but seemed in good spirits, captioning the video, “Finding the little [joys] helps me stay motivated even on my worst days.”

The social media star shared in the update that she was back in her New York apartment but said bluntly that the journey had “not been easy.”

“I lost so much of my strength when I was getting radiation and I’m starting from day one,” she said.

“It’s been so hard for me to get up and force myself to move so I’m working on doing that.”

She said she was working on exercising and sticking to a strict food regimen because she’s had a low appetite.

“I’m really just focusing on the small things that bring me joy and really, really prioritizing my mental health as well.”

Yaffe was 20 when she was diagnosed with fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma, a rare form of liver cancer that only affects 200 people worldwide every year.

The cancer uniquely affects mostly young and healthy people.

The Maryland native previously said on the platform that she felt sick throughout her late teenage years, but that she pinned it on a possible gluten intolerance until a specialist found a tumor in her liver.

In February of this year, Yaffe’s health suffered a setback due to a lung hemorrhage.

She said in a TikTok video that the hemorrhage was caused by a tumor pressing on her heart, preventing her lung’s ventilation and causing it to bleed.

Yaffe began radiotherapy and immunotherapy to decrease the tumor and stop the bleeding, causing her to be intubated for three days.

Who was TikTok star Rachel Yaffe?

TikTok star Rachel Yaffe died at 27 on October 11 following a fight with a rare form of cancer that lasted seven years.

Yaffe documented her battle with fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma to her 55,000 followers on TikTok.

Throughout her videos, Yaffe revealed that she felt like something was out of the ordinary with her health in her late teens but that she wasn’t diagnosed with liver cancer until she was 20.

FL-HCC typically affects young people without underlying liver disease.

After visiting a doctor, she was referred to a specialist who found a 20-centimeter tumor in her liver.

The Maryland native was diagnosed with stage 4 FL-HCC and rushed in for surgery to remove the tumor – but the cancer returned to her liver and lungs three months later.

Over the years, Yaffe documented her journey with multiple types of medicine to ease her pain. She often tried alternative methods like bee venom therapy and seeking out non-toxic food and products throughout her fight with the disease.

After living in Los Angeles, Yaffe moved to New York, where her sister lives, in September 2023.

In February 2024, Yaffe suffered a lung hemorrhage and had to undergo multiple emergency procedures. While she was intubated for three days, her parents gave consent for her to start radiation and immunotherapy to try to stop the bleeding.

In June, the TikTok star reported that she started proton therapy after doctors were worried about a tumor in her abdomen.

After resting at her parents’ home in Baltimore, Yaffe returned to her New York home in August.

She posted her final TikTok on September 1, where she appeared physically frail and spoke about staying optimistic while feeling weak.

Her death was announced on Friday, October 11.

“She is survived by her devoted parents, Linda (nee Bass) and Wayne Yaffe; cherished brother and sister, Jordan Yaffe and Jessica Yaffe; dear grandmother, Sydney Bass; and loving dog, Layla,” Yaffe’s obituary reads.

In June, Yaffe said she received scan results that showed some “very positive parts and some not-so-ideal parts.”

FANS PAY TRIBUTE

Since her death was announced on Friday, tributes have poured in for Yaffe in the comments of her final posts on the platform.

“Rest high Angel. You are no longer hurting in pain anymore. You are free now,” one fan wrote under her last video.

“I just found out about you today. I watched several of your videos. What a sweet lady you are. What a loss. Please watch over your family. I’m sure they’re devastated,” another shared in a comment.

Another commented, “I have been looking for an update everyday. I have been following Rachel for years. I am so heartbroken. Rest in peace sweet girl, I know there is peace on the other side.”

If there is one thing that I’ve learned, it is to trust your body. Don’t let anybody make you feel like you are wrong or crazy for feeling certain things.”

Rachel YaffeTikTok

In a TikTok pinned to the top of her page, Yaffe says her message is for other people to get checked out by doctors if they suspect something’s wrong.

“I feel like everybody was making me feel like it was my anxiety and like I was crazy and I know a lot of people have stories like this,” she said about her symptoms in the video posted in April 2023.

“It made me stop trusting my body and the signals that it was sending me…because everyone was telling me that I was wrong and they couldn’t find anything.

“If there is one thing that I’ve learned, it is to trust your body. Don’t let anybody make you feel like you are wrong or crazy for feeling certain things.”

Yaffe is survived by her parents and grandma, her brother and sister, and her dog, Layla.

Kendall Jenner is left out of Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – and fans think they know real reason behind her absence

KENDALL Jenner was seemingly snubbed by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, with fans sure that they’ve uncovered the real reason.

Last night (October 15), some of the most famous fashion models sashayed up and down the catwalk for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

In 2018 she posed on the runway with Gigi Hadid[/caption]

But Kendall Jenner‘s name was seemingly left off of the guestlist, with fans spotting this before the show began.

The likes of Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, Tyra Banks, Ashley Graham, Adriana Lima and Bella Hadid were all in attendance to stomp down the pink runway, with Kendall nowhere to be seen.

Ahead of the runway commencing, fans and critics of the Kardashian-Jenner clan took to Reddit to note how Kendall’s name was not on the list of models taking part.

“Where’s Kendall?” asked one Reddit user above a “confirmed” list of models who were due to walk for the fashion show.

Fans and critics of the model were quick to speculate the reasons behind why Kendall was not on the confirmed models’ list, with conflict of interest and anxiety among the reasons they were convinced of.

One person wrote, “Kendall is modeling for L’oréal and Tommy Hilfiger now. She’s in her the villages, Florida USA retirement era.”

Another person echoed, “Maybe her contract with Loreal excludes her from participating in the VSFS?”

TOO ANXIOUS?

A third person then spoke of Kendall’s anxiety and speculated that she was maybe “too anxious” to take part.

“Maybe she felt a little overwhelmed and decided to opt-out, 2 shows a season can be too much for her lmao,” said a fourth.

Kendall previously revealed that she has suffered from anxiety since she was seven years old, with her opening up about her current anxiety struggle back in May.

Speaking to Vogue, Kendall said, “I’m way more anxious than usual. So I’m not going to sit here and act like everything’s perfect.

“That’s life – I’m always going to be in and out of those feelings. In past interviews, when someone’s asked me about my mental state, it’s always been, ‘I’m great right now, but this is what I’ve dealt with.’ Well, right now I’m actually in it.”

A fifth person then continued to speculate on Reddit and said that the model “once whined during an interview how other models excluded and laughed about her after she made remarks mocking the model industry, acting like it’s an easy and boring job and behaving like her usual, spoiled self”.

They then went on to say how they watched the show and was “not surprised she wasn’t there”.

Kendall Jenner is the eldest of Kris and Caitlyn Jenner’s daughters and part of the Kardashian sisters. Kendall became a supermodel and regularly collaborates with her younger sister Kylie on Kylie Cosmetics. In 2021, Kendall launched her own tequila line: 818

“They had real talent on the runway, especially OG supermodels like Candice, Adriana or Tyra Banks,” they added.

FANS CALL FOR KENDALL’S RETURN

Meanwhile, fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, have also been wondering why Kendall was left out of the show, with speculation rife.

“Was Kendall not invited to vsfs?” asked one.

“hmm no Kendall Jenner this vsfs 2024?!” asked a second.

While a third pleaded, “We need Kendall Jenner and Gisele Bundchen for [the] next Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.”

Tom Brady blown away by Jimmy Johnson’s athleticism aged 89 on Fox NFL Sunday after he caught no-look pass from QB

TOM Brady was blown away by the athleticism of one of his Fox NFL costars.

Jimmy Johnson still has some NFL talent to show off, even at 89 years old.

Fox
Jimmy Johnson made a spectacular catch during the show[/caption]

After Week 6’s action came to a close on Sunday, Tom Brady joined the Fox NFL Sunday crew to break down some of the games.

His duties over the weekend were to call the Detroit Lions-Dallas Cowboys game, and he was meant to talk about it with the crew.

However, he first had to talk to Johnson about what he did on Fox NFL Sunday.

During the preshow, NFL quarterback Matt Stafford made a guest appearance on the show and threw some passes to the cast.

One of the passes to Johnson was a little high, but he easily leaped and brought the pass back down to the ground.

This impressed Brady, and he made sure to give him a shoutout before doing his analysis.

“Before I talk about this game I wanna talk about what I saw in the pregame show,” Brady said.

“What I was most impressed with was Jimmy! How are you getting up with those hops like that?

“Catching that pass from Stafford? That was ridiculous.”

NFL fans were also impressed by Johnson’s skill, and shared their thoughts on social media.

“Get this man some pads and a jersey the Jags need him,” one fan said.

“Wow Jimmy Johnson and Matthew amazing,” another fan said.

“Take him out of the game but not the game out of him,” a third fan said.

“You guys are having too much fun today! And that was a great catch Jimmy!” a fourth fan said.

“That’s my Coach!!” a fifth fan said.

The Tom Brady domino effect

Tom Brady will take his seat in Fox's top NFL announce team alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

And his arrival at the network has set off a domino effect with every other announcer moving down one spot.

That means Fox’s NFL coverage in 2024 will feature entirely new broadcast pairings.

Greg Olsen, who previously worked alongside Burkhardt, will now be part of the No. 2 announce team with Joe Davis.

The other Fox pairings for 2024 are:

  • Adam Amin-Mark Sanchez
  • Kenny Albert-Jon Vilma
  • Kevin Kugler-Daryl Johnston
  • Chris Myers-Mark Schlereth

While Tom Brady has made it through six weeks as a broadcaster, his duties may start to change.

On Tuesday he was approved as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, but that comes with some restrictions.

Many of these restrictions will hamper his ability to be a strong broadcaster, as he isn’t allowed in any other team facilities or in broadcast meetings.

There is no word on whether or not his broadcasting career will be cut short because of the ownership decision, but it will certainly be harder.

For now, what the decision means is that Brady’s playing days are officially over.
