This Week host Martha Raddatz questioned Vance about Trump’s Springfield, Ohio-esque assailment of the town and the subsequent pushback by its Republican mayor […]

One savvy saver took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group to share details of their Chilly’s dupe spotting.

The North Cheam store is based in Sutton on London Road.

Interestingly, a label on the bottle states: “Smash Double Wall Insulated Bottle”.

Like the Chilly’s bottles, the Smash bottles are also double walled.

The bottle is also screw top, 500ml, vacuum insulated, and comes in a bunch of other styles.

It can be bought directly from Sainsbury’s website, or from Argos.

However, it’s showing up online as £7.50.

One person left a raving review: “Perfect. Keeps my drink cold all day. Love the colour too.”

Meanwhile the same bottle but in burgundy is lapping up the five-star reviews.

One person said: “Useful bottle. Lovely colour and well made with a good seal in the top.

“Keeps drinks cold and holds enough for a day out. Functional and a reasonable price

While a second said: “Nice. I love it, bought it for my kids.”

And a third said: “Would Recommend! Having gone through so many plastic water bottles I thought to get a stainless steel one and its so worth it!

“Easy to clean and great at keeping cold.”

On the Sainsbury’s website there are in fact 100 Smash items to choose from.

But for this particular style of bottle the colours come in blue, beige, orange, burgundy, black and pink.

As always, we recommend shopping around to find the best deal.

Checking in-store availability is also recommended to avoid making a wasted trip.

New law will change how drivers are notified about recalls after concerns over 600k cars with ‘critical safety defect’

A NEW law is set to change how drivers are informed about recalls and make it easier to get “critical” problems addressed.

Under the bill, motorists would be able to access automatic updates on the status of their vehicles.

A proposed law in New Jersey would make it easier for drivers to hear about vehicle recalls[/caption]

Officials in New Jersey have expressed concerns over missed or forgotten recalls putting drivers at risk.

They estimate that more than 600,000 cars are running in the state with “critical safety defects“.

Craig Orlan, motoring expert at Honda, told NJ 101.5 that the firm’s statistics suggest that around a quarter of drivers fail to have repairs suggested by recalls carried out.

As it stands, owners receive letters from manufacturers to inform them of any problems but aren’t usually sent reminders beyond that.

Understandably, many might miss the letter or have it slip their mind, resulting in the repairs remaining incomplete.

How can I check if my car is part of a recall?

If you own a car that's been recently recalled, you can easily check your VIN.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) makes it incredibly quick and easy for drivers to check and see if their vehicle is part of a recent (or past) recall.

The VIN checking tool also allows drivers to see whether or not the repair was completed within the last 15 years, making it an incredible tool for buyers of used cars.

All recalls initiated by the NHTSA mean free repairs for drivers, even if it’s an engine or a transmission replacement. If your VIN shows an active recall that has not been repaired, it’s important to make an appointment at your nearest dealership.

Here’s how to make an appointment for a recall:

  1. Look up your VIN using the NHTSA tool.
  2. Find out the recall number/ID from the manufacturer.
  3. Call your nearest dealership’s service center with the ID number handy, and mention you’d like to schedule an appointment to repair the recall. The repair can only be done at a dealership, as they’re authorized by the manufacturer to conduct the repair free of cost using genuine parts.
  4. Try to make the appointment as soon as possible.
  5. Once the repair is completed, the dealership will update the information associated with the VIN to reflect it’s been completed.

To address this, lawmakers have devised a bill to make it easier to hear about recalls, which has now passed two Senate committees.

Under the proposed rules, vehicle owners would be given a reminder of any open recalls whenever they took their car in for a service.

This would apply whether they used the state’s Motor Vehicle Commission or private mechanic shops.

These facilities would be granted access to a database of open recalls to see which have not been fulfilled.

They could search for the customer’s car by VIN and inform them if any repairs are required.

The MVC would also provide these reminders any time Jerseyites registered their vehicle, which they have to do annually.

Craig said that similar regulations in other states led to a 40% uptick in recall repairs.

He added: “We believe that engaging the MVC and inspection facilities as a partner by having them provide supplemental notice of these defects is the single best way to improve recall completion rates.”

The bill will now continue to progress through the legislature and could come into effect as early as the beginning of next year.

It is not clear how much the change will cost or if extra staff will be needed at dealerships and repair shops to accommodate it.

The move comes after Honda recalled 1.7 million vehicles over a potentially deadly steering issue.

Cool Hand Luke averaged 100.30 during the contest, which is only the second time an average of a ton plus has been recorded at the semi-final stage – the other being Phil Taylor.

He is also in his sixth straight TV ranking final, with Michael Van Gerwen in 2016-2017 and Taylor the only person to do that.

Afterwards, in an interview with Wayne Mardle the former darts star compared his numbers to the legendary Taylor and Michael van Gerwen.

But modest Humphries revealed if he is to be compared to Taylor – he would have to consistently be in that kind of form.

“I don’t need to compare myself to Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen,” he said.

“Phil would do this game in game out, I have one out of five of them games so you can’t compare me to Phil, never.

“And he’ll always have achieved more than any single player the world has ever seen. No one will ever be able to do what he’s done!”

Taylor boasts an incredible career record, including winning 14 World Championships.

He was also a World Matchplay winner 14 times, won the World Grand Prix 11 and has six Premier League titles to his name.

The Crafty Potter amassed a £6million fortune from the arrows, securing his status as the best player the game’s ever seen.

Humphries, looking to retain the title he won last year against Gerwyn Price, is looking forward to his match against Mike De Decker.

He said: “I think it’s a dream final, it really is.

“We’ve had so many battles and it’s going to be a good game. Mike’s playing well and I know I’m going to have to be at my best again.”

In doing so, she became the first woman to break the 2:10:00 barrier.

In fact, she smashed the previous record by nearly two minutes.

The last world record had been set by Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia in Berlin 13 months ago.

After the race, Chepngetich dedicated her incredible achievement to the late Kelvin Kiptum.

London Marathon winner and world record holder Kiptum tragically died aged just 24 in a car crash earlier this year.

His coach Garvais Hakizimana was also killed in the tragic crash.

After today’s Chicago Marathon, Chepngetich said: “This world record I’m dedicating to Kelvin Kiptum.

“I’m so happy. I don’t know how to explain.”

She then admitted that she had felt before the race that she could set a new world record.

Chepngetich added: “I feel so great. The world record is my dream, that has now come true.

“I fought a lot thinking about the world record and now I’ve fulfilled it. I’m so grateful.

“This year the weather was perfect and I prepared well. The world record was on my mind.”

Her previous personal best was also set in Chicago back in 2022.

This time around, however, she shaved nearly five minutes off her former PB.

Chepngetich placed tenth overall in the Chicago Marathon.

She was one of two Kenyans to triumph in Chicago today, with John Korir setting a personal best 2:02:44 to win the men’s race.

Russia ‘executes nine Ukrainian drone pilots in cold blood after forcing them to strip to their underwear’

A SQUAD of Ukrainian drone pilots have allegedly been executed in cold blood by the Russians.

Nine of the unmanned vehicle aces were shot dead after being stripped to their underwear.

The men had been surrounded by Russian forces in Kursk region, and laid down their weapons, claimed Ukraine’s 1st Separate Tank Brigade.

It is a war crime to kill prisoners – but the Russians are now allegedly killing captured soldiers “almost daily”.

Putin’s war has seen horror stories of his troops brutally killing captured or surrendered Ukrainians.

They have allegedly been shot, butchered, and even beheaded after being caught by Putin’s men.

A horrific photo – captured by a drone – shows the pile of bodies lying next to their discarded clothes.

Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, said: “Information about the possible shooting by the Russians of nine Ukrainian prisoners of war in Kursk region is again spreading in social networks.

“Such actions are a gross violation of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.”

He sent letter to the United Nations and International Committee of the Red Cross regarding another crime committed by the Russians.

He said: “These actions should not go unpunished, and the enemy should bear all responsibility.

“Russia is a terrorist country that violates all the rules and customs of war.

“The international community should not turn a blind eye to such crimes.”

The horrific aerial picture comes amid alarming analysis from independent open-source intelligence analysts that Russian killings of prisoners of war have become almost routine.

Conflict Intelligence Team founder Ruslan Leviev warned: “The situation with executions of prisoners of war is becoming almost daily.

“Previously, we could not claim that this was some kind of strategy.

“It was quite possible to say that these were isolated incidents at the level of individual groups.

“Now, materials are being collected that allow us to more convincingly prove that [executions of prisoners by Russian troops] are becoming widespread.”

Ukrainian Telegram channel Deep State said: “From our sources in the 1st Separate Tank Brigade, it became known that on October 10, the Russians shot drone fighters and associates.

“Additional details of the circumstances are being clarified, but it is known that the boys entered the position thinking that they were in the relative rear, but were already forced to come into contact with the enemy and shot back.

“However, their ammunition was limited and they were forced to surrender.”

Ukrainian forces remain inside Kursk – a border region of Russia they invaded in August.

Putin has been unable to dislodge Kyiv’s forces who have claimed 390 square miles of territory inside his borders.

The move was believed to be an effort to draw Russian forces away from other parts of the frontline.

Ukraine continues to call for help as the war grinds on since Putin first invaded in February 2022.

Russia last month suffered its deadliest of the war so far – but the frontline situation remains on a knife edge.

ESPN announces major NFL broadcast change for free-to-air games – but Week 7 clash is still stuck on streaming only

ESPN has announced a huge change to it’s NFL coverage after coming to an agreement with the league.

The network will simulcast six more NFL games on the main free-to-air ABC channel.

Getty
Ex-Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce has proved to be a popular addition to the team[/caption]

Fans will be able to watch the Monday Night Football games for free rather than have to pay for an ESPN subscription.

The agreement will kick in for the Week 6 clash between the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford in New Jersey.

And five more games after that which were scheduled to be on ESPN only will now also be on ABC as well.

ABC only had eight scheduled NFL broadcasts coming into the season.

But the agreement with the league means they will air 17 games in total – with three of them exclusive.

There are now only two Mondays remaining this season where games will only be available on ESPN.

ESPN also has a streaming only game in Week 7 in an experiment.

The Arizona Cardinals take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, 21 October.

That game will kickoff at a later time of 9 pm ET and only be available on ESPN+.

That means there is no linear TV coverage and fans can only watch by streaming.

ESPN and ABC will be showing the Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers that night.

The Bucs’ clash with the Kansas City Chiefs on November 4 as well as the Houston Texans vs Dallas Cowboys on November 18 were also made available on ABC.

And the other two games moved to ESPN and ABC simulcasts are the Baltimore Ravens at the Los Angeles Chargers on November 25 and the New Orleans Saints at the Green Bay Packers on December 23.

ESPN and the NFL is looking to capitalize on last year’s viewership – which averaged 17.36 million viewers on MNF.

This year they have brought back to double headers with two games kicking off at almost similar times on different channels.

ABC showed Monday night clashes all 18 weeks last year after an agreement with the league.

Both ABC and ESPN are owned by the Walt Disney Company.

And due to the Hollywood writer strike – there was no new original content on television last fall.

ESPN also recently agreed to end the DirecTV blackout dispute.

Angry customers missed college football games, the NFL MNF season opener and parts of the US Open.
