Big Brother’s Aisleyne spots secret feud as she issues warning after first eviction – and slams Marcello ‘kiss’

BIG Brother’s first eviction served up a predictable result – but there was plenty of drama elsewhere to feast our eyes on!

Show legend Aisleyne was glued to the action and spotted the first signs of a feud brewing between the otherwise ‘chummy’ housemates.

Cracks are definitely beginning to show just one week in – and alliances are forming.

Make sure to read on, because sparks are about to fly!

AISLEYNE’S WARNING

two women are standing in front of a sign that says out of bounds
Head of House is on the way – it caused loads of drama in my series!

Big Brother is up to its nonsense yet again.

Next week we are going to see one housemate to be chosen to be Head of House.

With that they’ll get special privileges and they’ll be able to manipulate the house a bit.

That’s usually what happens and they’ll also be immune from next week’s eviction and to be nominated for next week’s eviction.

I remember in my year we had Head of House and it created a massive divide. People ended up hating Suzie because she was chosen as head of house.

You could clearly see who she liked more because she would give them the privileges.

This is going to cause a divide in the house. I’m telling you now, this is when the cracks are going to start to form.

SECRET FEUD SPOTTED

I love these three – but they’re about to get into big trouble

Well, Nathan, Ali, and Lily. Lily? Those three are talking about becoming an alliance, a team, a little group of people together, so they’re stronger in their alliance.

I think they need to be careful. Because it’s fast becoming the bitchy corner.

I love it, when they start saying who they like and don’t lie. That’s what we want to know. It’s a social experiment.

But they need to be careful, because they could fast become the bitching corner.

I’ve predicted it here. People don’t like that!

I SAW IT COMING

Thank god Big Brother viewers came together and got Ryan out

Obviously, we saw Ryan leave the Big Brother house last night.

I was not surprised. Was you? I called it. I knew it. Dull as dishwater and as boring as the spoons he doesn’t like people calling themselves.

Be gone Ryan, ta ra kid. Your interview was dull as dishwater as well.

Sorry hun, you had to go.

I think Ali needs to chill out a bit, but I can understand the paranoia.

She’s got a girlfriend on the outside, but this whole vape kiss with Marcello.

Marcello, he is a cringe-bag. He is who he is. It is what it is.

I don’t think we’ll ever get him to change. He is a cringe-bag.

But obviously, they didn’t kiss, he said it was a vape kiss to her then he just carried on the joke, it really wasn’t that much of a big deal.

But then when she brought it up to him and he continued to go with that rhetoric, I thought, oh mate.

You’ve just been handed a key to get out of jail and you’ve given it back and gone back in jail. What’s wrong with you? Oh Marcello.

SWEET MARTHA

Martha is so sweet, like I’ve seen it over the past week. But I’m really, really, really seeing it more and more.

When she was giving Baked Potato (Rosie) comfort and advice about her weight. They are at the opposite ends of the spectrum with where they are about weight and how they feel about their weight.

But they still came together and she comforted Baked Potato.

She is just a really sweet lovely person and we are yet to see a bad side of her.

From headaches to sweating and swollen ankles – the 5 symptoms you NEVER want to wake up to and when to see your doctor

AFTER a good night’s sleep, you’d expect to wake up refreshed and ready to hit the day running.

But you might be faced with a rude awakening if you’re emerging from your slumber with various aches and pains – not what you’d call a beauty sleep.

a poster showing worrying symptoms to wake up to

Often, waking up with a niggle or two is not necessarily something to worry about.

But if your mornings are not so good due to symptoms like headaches, wheezing and swollen ankles, it’s worth seeing a doctor about them, Dr Sarah Jarvis warned.

The GP and clinical consultant to Patient.info shared five red flag signs to watch out for when you wake up.

1. You’re still exhausted

If you’ve spent the night tossing and turning, it stands to reason that you won’t wake up feeling amazing.

But if you’re consistently rolling out of bed feeling like you’ve got no sleep at all, there might be something more serious at play.

“Feeling exhausted or unrefreshed when you wake could be a sign of obstructive sleep apnoea,” Dr Jarvis told Sun Health.

Sleep apnoea is when your breathing stops and starts while you sleep.

It can be pretty hard to tell if this is happening to you, unless someone is snoozing next to you.

If your bedfellow complains that you’re making gasping, snorting and choking noises, snoring loudly or waking up a lot, it’s important you see a GP.

Without treatment, sleep apnoea can heighten your risk of other problems like high blood pressure, stroke, type 2 diabetes and depression.

Not to mention, it’ll leave you feeling very tired throughout the day as you grapple with mood swings, concentration issues and clanging headaches as soon as you crack open your eyes.

Dr Jarvis added: “Extreme tiredness for no reason can also be a sign of cancer, although this is less closely linked to the time when you wake.”

According to Cancer Research UK, some 65 per cent of cancer patients are affected by fatigue.

2. You have a headache

Starting the day off with a searing headache can be especially miserable.

Sometimes your throbbing temples will simply be caused by having a few too many glasses of wine the night before.

And – as mentioned above – waking up with a headache can also be a sign of sleep apnoea.

But headaches that wake you from sleep can be a sign of something as serious as cancer.

“Although uncommon, it’s extremely important to get these checked out as they could be a sign of a brain tumour,” Dr Jarvis stressed.

The most common symptoms of a brain tumour

More than 12,000 Brits are diagnosed with a primary brain tumour every year — of which around half are cancerous — with 5,300 losing their lives.

The disease is the most deadly cancer in children and adults aged under 40, according to the Brain Tumour Charity.

Brain tumours reduce life expectancies by an average of 27 years, with just 12 per cent of adults surviving five years after diagnosis.

There are two main types, with non-cancerous benign tumours growing more slowly and being less likely to return after treatment.

Cancerous malignant brain tumours can either start in the brain or spread there from elsewhere in the body and are more likely to return.

Brain tumours can cause headaches, seizures, nausea, vomiting and memory problems, according to the NHS.

They can also lead to changes in personality weakness or paralysis on one side of the problem and problems with speech or vision.

The nine most common symptoms are:

  1. Headaches
  2. Seizures
  3. Feeling sick
  4. Being sick
  5. Memory problems
  6. Change in personality
  7. Weakness or paralysis on one side of the body
  8. Vision problems
  9. Speech problems

If you are suffering any of these symptoms, particularly a headache that feels different from the ones you normally get, you should visit your GP.

3. You’re drenched in sweat

Waking up drenched in sweat can be an everyday reality of those going through the menopause.

It’s up there with other well-known symptoms like hot flushes and brain fog.

But ‘coming to’ with your pyjamas and sheets stuck to your skin can in some cases be a sign of cancer, Dr Jarvis added.

She told Sun Health: “While this is a common symptom of menopause, it can also be a sign of cancer such as lymphoma.”

Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that affects the immune system.

Over 14,000 people are diagnosed with lymphoma each year in the UK, according to Blood Cancer UK.

A common symptom of the cancer is painless lumps in your neck, collarbone, armpit, or groin, as well as other parts of the body.

Aside from night sweats that soak your bedding, lymphoma can cause unexplained weight loss and a fever.

4. You’re wheezing

If you have asthma – a common lung condition causing breathing difficulties – wheezing won’t be a foreign concept to you.

But waking early in the morning with wheezing or shortness of breath if you have asthma could be something to worry about.

“This is often a red flag that your asthma is worsening,” Dr Jarvis said.

Your condition may be getting worse if you haven’t kept up with using your preventer inhaler or you’re dealing with stress or hormonal changes, according to Asthma + Lung UK.

Other symptoms that your asthma isn’t as well managed as it should be include:

  • Feeling breathless
  • Coughing
  • Having a tight chest
  • Symptoms waking you up at night
  • Finding it harder to do everyday things like housework, playing with children, or going to work
  • Having to use your reliever inhaler more than usual

5. Ankles are swollen

Swollen ankles after a long flight tends to be nothing to worry about.

But puffiness around your feet is certainly not a sight you want to behold when you wake up.

According to Dr Jarvis: “Swollen ankles when you wake in the morning can be a sign of kidney problems or heart failure.”

Swelling in the ankles, feet and legs is often caused by a build-up of fluid in these areas, called oedema.

Kidney disease – a long term condition where the organs don’t work as well they should – doesn’t tend to cause symptoms in the early stages.

But you may develop a number of symptoms if it isn’t spotted early or the disease gets worse.

Aside from swollen ankles, feet and hands, these can include unintentional weight loss and poor appetite, tiredness, shortness of breath, blood in your pee and an increased urge to go to the loo.

Heart failure occurs when the heart struggles to pump blood around the body properly.

Breathlessness, extreme tiredness and feeling lightheaded or fainting are among the main symptoms, on top of swelling.

When your partner's snoring is a concern

Lots of people snore... So when is it really a concern?

Dr Verena Senn, sleep expert at Emma Sleep, told The Sun when snoring could indicate sleep apnoea – a sleep condition that causes breathing to repeatedly stop and re-start when you’re asleep.

The main symptoms are feeling very tired, finding it hard to concentrate and having mood swings, the NHS says.

Dr Senn said that sleep apnoea can often go undetected as it can happen without the patient’s knowing.

“Sleep partners can therefore play a crucial role in recognising this serious disease so it can be treated.”

You should tell your partner to visit their GP if:

  • Their snoring is really loud
  • They stop breathing while sleeping
  • They wake up gasping or choking through the night
  • They complain of sleepiness in the daytime or headaches in the morning

People with obstructive sleep apnoea will often also suffer with high blood pressure.

When you stop breathing during your sleep, your nervous system kicks in and releases stress hormones which may raise blood pressure over time.

Is there a rematch clause for Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol?

ARTUR BETERBIEV takes on Dmitry Bivol this weekend with all the gold at light-heavyweight on the line.

Whoever wins will became the latest on a short line of men’s undisputed boxing champions in the four-belt era, joining the likes of Oleksandr Usyk, Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez.

Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol will clash in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this weekend[/caption]

Beterbiev is undefeated, winning all of his 20 fights by knockout, while Bivol also has an unblemished record at 23-0.

They’ve been on a collision course to fight for years, with Beterbiev holding the WBO, IBF and WBC belts while Bivol has the WBA strap in his possession.

They were supposed to fight earlier this year in June but the fight was postponed after an injury to Beterbiev.

But now they’re finally set to throw down, and fans are wondering if it’s possible we’ll see the fight more than once.

Is there a Beterbiev vs Bivol rematch clause?

According to Bivol’s promoter Eddie Hearn, there is NO rematch clause for his fight with Beterbiev.

But Hearn refused to rule out a rematch entirely, hinting that if the fight was an entertaining one and there was public demand for it, a rematch could be made.

But there are options for both Bivol and Beterbiev after this weekend’s clash.

Bivol will always have the option to rematch Canelo Alvarez again and has stated he could move down to super-middleweight to do so.

Beterbiev has also previously been linked with a fight against Alvarez, but is more likely to move up in weight to cruiserweight.

The Russian, 39, could also hang up his gloves, win or lose, with an unbeaten record intact after cleaning out an entire division.

If the fight between Bivol and Beterbiev is a close one, however, then expect a rematch, particularly if there’s controversy surrounding the result.

Meet Conor Benn’s mum Caroline Jackson

CAROLINE Jackson is the mother of professional boxer Conor Benn and the wife of former two-weight world champion Nigel Benn.

While she maintains a relatively low public profile, her role in the Benn family has been significant.

Meeting Nigel Benn

Caroline met Nigel Benn at her 21st birthday party at Stringfellow’s nightclub in London.

Despite Nigel’s fame and the entourage that surrounded him, Caroline stood out by being one of the few people who stood up to him.

This strength of character caught Nigel’s attention and led to their relationship.

But the early years of Caroline and Nigel’s relationship were not without difficulties.

Proposal and marriage

After a period of reflection and growth, Nigel proposed to Caroline in the boxing ring after a match in March 1996.

He popped the question after losing to Thulani ‘Sugar Boy’ Malinga.

Nigel expressed his commitment to Caroline, insisting that it would be his last fight.

They tied the knot on September 4, 1996, but details of their wedding have not been reported.

Fertility struggles and Family Life

Caroline and Nigel faced challenges in starting a family.

They underwent IVF treatment, which initially failed.

At one point, Nigel walked out on her when she didn’t become pregnant.

She has previously spoken about Nigel’s infidelity and his struggles with commitment.

In 1998, when she was 26, Caroline told the Mirror: “I feel sick when I think about Nigel’s affair, even now. I can remember it like it was yesterday.

“We were living in Jersey and we had been trying for months to have a baby. It was such a low point in my life. I was going for IVF treatment and it had failed.

Nigel shouts a lot when he doesn’t want to do something. He is hot-headed. It’s like a huge flare-up and then it’s over

Caroline JacksonThe Mirror

“On this night, we were supposed to be going out together and I was looking forward to it. Nigel told me at short notice that he wanted to go out on his own.

“What I didn’t know was this woman he knew and had slept with before had rung him and arranged to meet him at a hotel.

“He spent the night with her. It was just before Christmas. He told me three months later — just before his fight against Sugar Boy Malinga.

“I felt so sick. For years, I felt as though he would have dumped me at the drop of a hat, but I stuck with him because I felt he needed me. I was his closest friend.”

Reconciliation and kids

However, they reconciled and their perseverance eventually paid off.

Caroline and Nigel welcomed twins, Conor and his sister India, into their family shortly after their marriage on September 28, 1996.

The couple later had another son, Harley, who like his older brother and dad has become a professional boxer — he turned pro in 2017.

Nigel also had four children from his first marriage: Sade, Rene, Dominic and Nigel.

Role in Nigel’s career

Throughout Nigel’s boxing career, Caroline played a crucial role.

She was often the person his managers and agents would turn to when they needed Nigel to do something — she was one of the few people who could effectively communicate with him.

She said: “He needed someone he could trust. I am the only person who stood up to him.

“His agent and managers would ring me and ask me to tell him what he had to do.

Caroline has supported both her husband and sons in their boxing careers[/caption]

“Nigel shouts a lot when he doesn’t want to do something. He is hot-headed. It’s like a huge flare-up and then it’s over. “

Current relationship

As of October 2024, Caroline and Nigel’s relationship appears to be on solid ground.

Nigel has acknowledged his past mistakes and has taken steps to prove his commitment to Caroline.

Despite being part of a high-profile boxing family, Caroline has maintained a relatively private life.

Her focus appears to be on supporting her family, including Conor in his boxing career.

While she may not be in the public eye as much as her husband or son, her strength, resilience and support have been instrumental in both Nigel’s career and personal life, as well as in raising Conor to become the successful boxer he is today.

Her story is one of perseverance through personal and family challenges, ultimately contributing to the success and stability of one of boxing’s most famous dynasties.

Digital tags set to ‘enhance’ the shopping experience despite consumers dubbing it ‘price gouging’, expert claims

DIGITAL technology is rapidly transforming the retail landscape, and one of those innovations is the rise of digital tags.

These electronic displays are set to redefine the shopping experience, offering retailers a tool to engage customers more effectively – but shoppers may want to know if they do more harm than good.

Sean Turner, co-founder and chief innovation officer of Swiftly, explained that these tags allow for quick updates on promotions, product details, and usage instructions, eliminating the need for manual paper signage

By 2026, Walmart plans to equip its 2,300 stores with digital shelf label (DSL) technology that allows employees to update product price tags in just minutes.

This technology is believed to significantly reduce the time it currently takes to perform this task from 48 hours to mere minutes.

The move aligns Walmart with other retailers like Whole Foods, Kohl’s, and Kroger, which have also adopted electronic labels that can be adjusted remotely.

Proponents of this technology believe it will lead to more consistent pricing and improved customer service while saving labor costs.

However, the shift to dynamic pricing raises concerns among some lawmakers and consumers, who fear it could lead to surge pricing during peak demand times.

KEEP THEM COMING

Walmart isn’t alone in this transition; Kroger began testing DSL technology in 2018, and Kohl’s has been using it since 2015.

Meanwhile, Schnucks, a Midwest grocery chain, has also implemented a digital pricing system, and such technology is already commonplace in Europe.

A recent survey shared by Forbes found that 52% of US consumers associate this pricing strategy with price gouging, while 34% view it as beneficial.

While the primary aim of digital shelf labels is to enhance operational efficiency — allowing associates to change prices every 10 seconds — customers should remain vigilant as retailers navigate the balance between innovation and fair pricing, per the outlet.

Ultimately, the success of DSL technology will depend on how well retailers address consumer concerns and adapt to the new landscape of pricing strategies.

DIGITAL TAG TIRADE

In an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, Sean Turner, co-founder and chief innovation officer of Swiftly, a leader in retail technology, shared his insights on the significance of digital tags.

Turner explained that these displays can be quickly updated with relevant information, such as promotions, product details, or usage instructions.

“This not only educates shoppers but also streamlines store operations by eliminating the manual labor associated with traditional paper signage,” Turner noted.

When it comes to the return on investment, Turner advises retailers to conduct a thorough cost-benefit analysis.

Eleven questions for Kroger

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bob Casey asked the CEO of Kroger to answer eleven questions about AI, labels, and Microsoft's EDGE technology:

  1. How many Kroger grocery stores currently use EDGE or other ESL platforms?
    1. How many customers are served by these stores?
  2. Did any external entities advise Kroger to adopt EDGE and/or continue using EDGE?
    1. If yes, who are those external entities?
  3. Has Kroger prepared internal estimates regarding the potential to increase prices or profit margins by adopting dynamic pricing with EDGE?
  4. How does Kroger establish dynamic prices using the EDGE system?
    1. What factors does Kroger consider when changing prices? Please include a description of any time- or volume-based considerations.
  5. How does Kroger inform customers of recent or upcoming price changes?
    1. How far in advance does Kroger inform customers of price increases that will be implemented using the EDGE system?
  6. For all items that have been subject to dynamic pricing using EDGE, what is the average percentage change in price of those items over the first six months of using the system?
    1. For what percentage of items has the price increased over the first six months of using the system?
  7. Has Kroger ever used EDGE to change the price of an item more than one time within the same day?
    1. If not, does Kroger intend to do so in the future?
    2. If yes, please list:
      1. The locations at which Kroger has changed the price of an item more than once in a day.
      2. The complete list of products for which Kroger has changed the price more than once in a day.
  8. Will Kroger use customers’ data to institute personalized pricing on its ESL platforms?
  9. Will customers have the option to opt out of the collection of personal data through ESL platforms?
  10. What safeguards has Kroger put in place to protect against violations of consumer privacy related to ESL platforms?
  11. How will Kroger ensure that it will not use customer data related to ESL platforms to discriminate based on protected classes, such as race, gender, or age, when offering personalized prices?

The senators requested that Kroger answer these questions by August 20.

Source: Letter from Sens. Warren and Casey

“Whether digital tags are a smart investment is dependent on the retailer. Retailers need to do their own math and determine the cost of labor spent manually replacing price tags against the capital investment of implementing digital tags,” he said.

However, he added that the advantages extend beyond mere cost savings.

“If you can effectively use digital tags to advertise digital coupons in your mobile app, there may be other benefits in addition to just the labor savings.”

TOUGH CALLS

Despite their benefits, Turner acknowledged the hurdles retailers face when adopting digital tags.

“The initial investment in the technology can be significant,” he noted, adding that additional costs may arise from installing power outlets at shelf locations.

To ensure success, he recommends integrating digital tags into a broader retail media strategy to optimize both revenue growth and cost savings.

THOSE THAT BENEFIT

Turner highlighted that digital tags are particularly advantageous for retailers in high-labor cost environments.

“These tags serve as another powerful tool for effective communication with shoppers,” he said.

“Retailers can deliver targeted messages and personalized recommendations tailored to their specific audience.”

This tailored approach helps retailers connect more meaningfully with customers, especially in a competitive landscape.

Looking ahead, Turner predicts that digital tags will become increasingly vital as labor costs rise.

“Their ability to automate price updates and deliver targeted messages will make them a valuable tool for retailers seeking to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience,” he explained.

CONSUMER SPENDING TRENDS

In terms of current consumer behavior, Turner observed a notable shift.

“Despite economic fluctuations, grocery prices remain a significant burden for consumers,” he said, noting a rise in couponing and deal-seeking behavior.

“Consumers are increasingly using technology to find the best deals.”

He pointed out the growing trend of personalized promotions tailored to shoppers’ preferences, emphasizing that these strategies provide targeted savings opportunities.

“Creating targeted deals and promotions to resonate with digitally native customers is essential,” he stated.

Retailers can foster loyalty and increase in-store visits by offering personalized in-app and online promotions.

Consumers are increasingly using technology to find the best deals.

Sean TurnerCo-founder and chief innovation officer at Swiftly

GOLDEN LOYALTY

Looking toward the future, Turner believes that while large chains and mergers dominate headlines, local grocery stores will maintain their loyalty among consumers.

“People will continue to remain loyal to their local grocery stores over the next few years,” he said, highlighting the enduring value of the in-store experience.

The tactile interaction with products, discovery of new items, and social aspects of shopping cannot be easily replicated online, ensuring that local grocers will remain pivotal in the retail landscape.

Wheel of Fortune execs are ‘popping champagne’ after Ryan Seacrest ‘blows Pat Sajak’s ratings out of the water’

WHEEL of Fortune executives are “popping champagne” after Ryan Seacrest “blew Pat Sajak’s ratings out of the water” in his new hosting position.

Ryan‘s stunning early success has paved the way for him to renegotiate his deal with bosses, according to a show insider.

He’s blown Pat Sajak’s ratings out of the water with his viewing figures[/caption]

With bosses eager to lock him down for more than his current two-season deal, The U.S. Sun has learned negotiations for a long-term extension are already underway.

The source added that the ratings spike has come as a major blow for former host Pat, 77, who fronted the iconic show between 1981 and 2023.

They said: “You have to feel a little sorry for Pat Sajak because of how this is all playing out.

“Instead of matching or coming close to Pat’s audience numbers, Ryan has blown them out of the water!

“Everyone at Sony is popping champagne over the numbers and breathing a big sigh of relief that the tragedy, drama and confusion of the Jeopardy! host transition is not repeating itself here.

“The gamble on Ryan has worked creatively and as a business decision, and this new version of Wheel has excellent ratings.”

The insider went on to reveal Sony’s contingency plan, had Ryan’s initial numbers merely matched or come in below the ratings of the show’s previous era.

They continued: “It’s an even bigger deal because it’s an election year and all these daily syndicated shows usually take a small dip in viewership because of that.

“At least that’s what Sony was going to say if the numbers were underwhelming.

“But the refreshed Wheel is proving out Ryan’s strategic genius for joining the franchise in the first place.

“He’s making a very dusty, old format feel fresh and new, and the numbers show that he’s brought people back to Wheel who haven’t watched in years.”

The U.S. Sun revealed last month that Wheel of Fortune had surged past Jeopardy! by over 1 million viewers.

The syndicated show kicked off Season 42 on September 9 with new host Ryan making his highly anticipated debut.

Though Ryan has had a series of mishaps since the premiere, over a million viewers have tuned in to watch the famous host.

8,310,000 viewers watched Wheel of Fortune for the premiere week of September 9 to September 15.

As for rival game show Jeopardy!, which is hosted by Ken Jennings, 7,113,000 viewers tuned in for the episodes.

Family Feud came in the number three spot for syndicated television with 6,792,000.

Wheel of Fortune taking over the top spot is a shock, as Jeopardy! brought in more viewers overall last season.

JOB IN JEOPARDY?

The former American Idol star’s success on the game show could mean trouble for Ken, 50.

A source previously told The U.S. Sun, “Ryan is bringing a sense of youth and urgency to the job that is a lot harder to pull off than it looks, and Wheel is bound to get a bump in the numbers once his episodes start running in September.

“My advice to Ken is that just because Mayim is out of the picture doesn’t mean he shouldn’t watch his back.”

Ken and The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik shared hosting duties until she was let go from the show in 2023.

“In most media markets these shows run back-to-back and Ken needs to make sure he doesn’t suffer from the contrast with Ryan,” the insider continued to claim.

“It’s a tricky situation because their personalities are so radically different from one another.”

A second source told The U.S. Sun that while Ken currently has no long-term contract with the show, he has made it known to higher-ups that he would like to host for the long haul.

“Jeopardy! is Ken’s religion; he lives it, and he breathes it, and despite all the outside pressures, he’s not going to mess this up,” the insider claimed.

“He’s proud to have worked his way into this position and believes he has what it takes to make it last for decades to come.”

The source continued, “What he really wants more than anything is to stick around and make this position work for the long run.

“And if that means making less money to ensure his longevity, you can bet your life he’d be game.

“This isn’t all about the money. It’s a way of life for Ken and then some. He’s in it for the long run and to secure his status in the show’s history.”

Ken has a 74-game streak as a contestant, taking home $2.5 million.

He has made a total of $4.3 million from the game show with tournaments.

RYAN’S MISTAKES

Ryan had trouble adjusting to his role as host during the first few episodes.

On the premiere episode, a contestant mispronounced the word “ripened” while solving a puzzle.

Ryan ignored the mishap and granted the player the win.

“I thought he said the wrong word but when Ryan said he was correct, I assumed I misheard,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

“Why would the producers allow him to win the puzzle when he was wrong? Not a good way to start the new season, especially with a new host,” another viewer added.

“I don’t like the fact that Terry mispronounced the winning trip puzzle and he won it!!!! Pat would have said, ‘I’m sorry, Terry that’s not the answer,'” another said.

“Really surprised that the mistake wasn’t caught. He definitely said ‘ripeing’ instead of ‘ripened,'” a third pointed out.

“I agree – I agree, Ryan is fired after the first episode,” a viewer demanded.

For his second night as host, he failed to explain the rules to a contestant, causing her to lose a million-dollar prize.

“Pat would’ve explained that if she took the risk, she would’ve lost the million-dollar wedge,” one X user wrote.

“Pat would always remind the contestants if they look under the $10,000 they could lose their $1 million wedge. Ryan needs to do this too…” wrote a second.

Wheel of Fortune's big changes

The game show has undergone a major transformation now that Ryan Seacrest has taken over hosting duties for Pat Sajak.

-Ryan and Vanna White now host on a brand-new set, featuring a blue-toned stage, a green screen and art-deco wheel design.

-Ryan and Vanna make their big entrance from behind new sliding, brightly lit doors.

-Vanna turns – or now, touches – a modern, digital puzzle board controlled by lasers.

-Ryan brings a new hosting style, and has ditched Pat’s signature cue cards.

-The prizes have also been upgraded, and now include tickets to NFL games, and tickets to A-list concerts.

Then on the September 16 episode, contestant Vivian made it to the bonus round to solve the “What Are You Doing?” puzzle.

Vivan picked “C, H, M and P” for consonants, while she picked the letter “I” for her vowel.

Vivian screamed out trying to solve the puzzle, “Wondering some help, answering some help, finding some help, looking around for some help, boundary for help.”

The buzzer then went off, as Vivian couldn’t solve the puzzle, which read “offering some help.”

Ryan showed the audience the prize, as they gasped when they saw $1 million.

Ryan smiled and laughed as he said, “You were so close to that million dollars. You almost had it.”

Vivan had trouble speaking and looked visibly upset as Ryan said, “Are you alright? Breathe! You’re still walking away with $27,300 and that trip to Europe.”

Fans weren’t happy with how Ryan handled the loss.

One viewer wrote, “Ryan doesn’t show the envelope correctly. He keeps showing to the contestant when he should be showing it to the audience and viewers at home.

“Also, he didn’t handle the distraught contestant too well.”

A second agreed, “I hear ya. It’s more devastating maybe than he realizes.”

A third complained, “He’s gotta work on his empathy skills. Lol yikes!! Can he even remember what it’s like to not be rich?!”

“Ryan laughed at her, I felt – Pat was way more demure about it,” another said.

A fifth wrote, “Didn’t Ryan say something like ‘You’re going to kick yourself’ or something like that? While Pat acted like somebody died. I’m not here to pile on Ryan but I preferred Pat’s approach better.”
