AS Val is the max unlock level and what a reward it is, combining the benefits of an assault rifle with the benefits of an SMG. Comes with an integrated suppressor and a lightning fast rate of fire, the best Black Ops 6 AS Choice loading is quite the showstopper.
Unfortunately, AS Val is one of the most troublesome Black Ops 6 Weapon Loadouts to access, simply because it is unlocked at level 55 when many players will choose prestige. If you want to use AS Choice and Prestige, you’ll want to select it as your permanent unlock. Don’t worry too much, it’s worth it.
Best Black Ops 6 AS Val Loadout
The best Black Ops 6 AS Val loadout is:
- Barrel: Suppressed reinforced long barrel
- Underbarrel: Vertical forward grip
- Journal: Extended Mag 2
- Rear Grip: Command Grip
- Fire Mode: Recoil springs
Since the AS Val does not have a muzzle mount due to the built-in suppressor, the Gunfighter Wildcard’s additional mount slots are of little use. We’re going to keep it simple with just five attachments in this build, but if you’re struggling with AS Val’s iron sights, using the Gunfighter and adding an optic is an option.
The AS Val’s biggest weakness is its remarkably slow bullet velocity of 715 m/s, making it harder to win mid-range firefights despite surprisingly good recoil control. Thankfully, this is easily remedied with Suppressed reinforced long barrelwhich is unique to AS Val. This barrel offers three-point upgrades to both bullet speed and damage range, bringing velocity up to around 930m/s and greatly increasing effective range. Sure, it won’t top the mid-range damage from the Model L charge, but it’s a solid upgrade that will keep this near beast competitive for longer.
With improved ranged damage, it’s time to reduce the recoil to help land shots from a distance. The Vertical forward grip gives three points to horizontal recoil control, the most annoying type of recoil and the one that most affects AS Val at range. Then, the Recoil springs provides bonuses to both horizontal and vertical recoil control. You will be surprised how stable the AS Val is now despite firing at almost 900 RPM.
Now it’s just a matter of improving the overall versatility of the weapon with the remaining two slots, which are quite flexible for your specific playstyle. For example, you can use the No Layer option to increase various movement speed stats or Fast Motion Laser for various hipfire stats. However, I prefer to add Command Grip and Extended Mag 2.
Commando Grip improves aiming speed and sprint to fire rate, which works wonders with the AS Val’s inherent close-range aggressiveness. Ergonomic Grip is a good substitute for the same reason, although it requires you to use omni-movement frequently to get the most out of it.
Unsurprisingly, the Extended Mag 2 is here to boost the AS Val’s paltry 20-round magazine up to 40 bullets so you’re not constantly reloading. Given the high rpm, you’ll still burn through 40 bullets in no time, mind you. If you find that too sluggish, the Extended Mag 1 offers a 30-round magazine with fewer drawbacks in return.
AS Val class set
Here is my recommended class lineup to pair with AS Val:
- Secondary: 9 mm PM
- Tactical: Stim Shot
- Lethal: Impact grenade/Semtex
- Field Upgrade: Sleeper Agent
- Benefit 1: Dexterity
- Benefit 2: Killer
- Benefit 3: Double time
- Benefit 4: Ghost/Ninja/Tac Mask
- Specialty: Enforcer
- Wildcard: Perk Greed
While I usually prefer to bring Grekhova as a backup, it has the extra range of 9 mm PM can be very useful. If in doubt, you can always change the side arm depending on the map.
Because AS Val is tailored for an aggressive playstyle, you’ll have equally aggressive gear. The Stim Shot Tactical is a no-brainer thanks to its ability to heal on demand. If a shot doesn’t go your way or you’re injured with another enemy coming your way, a Stim Shot will be your best friend. Also Impact grenade short with enemies trying to rush you because you don’t have to wait for it to detonate. However, you need to be more accurate with your throws so if that’s a problem, stick with Semtex.
As for your Field Upgrade, the new Sleeper Agent the ability is great to pair with AS Val. Activate the Sleeper Agent to easily hide among enemy teams before firing away. Your enemies will be dead before they even realize what has happened. If you’re not one for subterfuge, then you can always go with staples like the Assault Pack, Trophy System, and Scrambler.
AS Val is the perfect opportunity to use Perk Greed Wildcard too, because Gunfighter is overkill. Continuing with the all-out offense theme, this loadout makes use of the Enforcer’s combat specialty which requires at least three Enforcer (red) perks to activate.
By reducing weapon movement when jumping, sliding and diving, Dexterity making it easy to outplay your enemies at close range. Don’t overlook Gung-Ho in this slot either. This improves speed when reloading and using equipment. In other words, you can run around like crazy without worrying about getting stuck reloading.
Killer is the obvious choice in the second slot. This perk creates Bounty Packs when you kill an enemy which, when collected, give bonus points. It works very well with recon Scorestreaks like UAV and Counter UAV.
In the third slot I recommend Double time. This perk greatly increases the duration of Tactical Sprint so you can more quickly get to cover, shoot lanes, or reposition when spawns change.
For the additional fourth perk, I’m a big fan of Ghost thanks to its ability to keep your enemies in the dark. Ghost makes you undetectable by UAVs and Scout Pulse when you move, which pairs well with AS Val’s integrated suppressor to hide you from the map at all times. Otherwise, Ninja can also be a fun option.
Now you have arguably the best assault rifle in multiplayer, even competing with the popular one XM4 charging. If you take it upon yourself Black Ops 6 Mastery Camo grind while rushing through the prestige levels, then it’s also a smart idea to complete AS Val as soon as you can so you don’t block your progress.
