A tragic altercation over a boundary fence dispute between neighbours resulted in a deadly incident involving a family in Phitsanulok province. The conflict escalated, leading to the deaths of two individuals and leaving one person seriously injured.

Police Lieutenant Phongsiri Ampripis of Bang Rakam Police Station received reports of the violent confrontation which occurred yesterday, December 25, at 4pm. The altercation took place in front of a residence in Moo 2, Wang Itok, Bang Rakam district, Phitsanulok province. Medical personnel from Naresuan University Hospital, forensic experts, and a rescue team swiftly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival at the location, police found the lifeless body of 35 year old Chawanrat, who had been shot in the chest. The tragedy unfolded near a black Honda car, its glass door shattered, inside which the victim’s two year old son was found crying in shock.

Approximately 150 metres away, along the roadside near a home, lay the body of 66 year old Jittanan, Chawanrat’s mother-in-law, who had been bludgeoned with a heavy object and was found deceased next to a banana tree. The injured party, 35 year old Suphawat, who is both the son of Jittanan and husband of Chawanrat, sustained injuries during the assault.

A key witness, A, 44 year old Jittanan’s daughter-in-law, detailed the events leading to the tragedy. The suspects were identified as Yot and his son, Bank.

Yot, who is Jittanan’s brother, had been in a longstanding dispute with her regarding the construction of a boundary fence between their adjoining properties. The argument reached a boiling point when Bank clashed with his aunt, Jittanan, once more.

As Suphawat, accompanied by his wife Chawanrat and their young son, drove up to the scene, he witnessed his mother being attacked. In a desperate attempt to intervene, Suphawat rushed out of the car, but tragically, it was too late, as Bank had already fatally struck Jittanan with a sledgehammer.

During the ensuing chaos, Yot emerged from his home brandishing a firearm and began shooting at Suphawat, who was engaged in a physical altercation with Bank. Although the bullets missed their intended target, Suphawat managed to flee.

Meanwhile, Chawanrat attempted to escape by driving away, but her car veered off the road, rendering it immobile. Yot shot her in the chest, in full view of her terrified two year old son, as she tried to flee from the vehicle, only to collapse and succumb to her injuries, reported KhaoSod.

The father-and-son duo, Yot and Bank, retreated to their house following the incident. Law enforcement swiftly apprehended them, and they were subsequently taken in for questioning and charged with murder. The remains of the deceased were transported to the hospital, pending their return to the family for religious rites.
