Senator Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican, on Thursday in a post on X stated that Musk as a House Speaker will help to act as a stop to the swamp in Washington.
“The Speaker of the House need not be a member of Congress . . . Nothing would disrupt the swamp more than electing Elon Musk . . . think about it . . . nothing’s impossible. (not to mention the joy at seeing the collective establishment, aka ‘uniparty,’ lose their ever-lovin’ minds),”
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene also expressed similar sentiments and said that it will augment efficiency in Congress.
However many are questioning if Elon Musk can be appointed to the post since he is not a natural-born citizen of the US.
There is no requirement for the Speaker to be a natural-born citizen of the United States.
It will be within the realms of the Constitution to appoint Elon Musk to the post of the US Congress Speaker.
Only the US President must be a natural-born citizen of the United States but there is no such requirement for anyone to be appointed to the post of US Congress Speaker.
