Jamie Borthwick breaks silence on Strictly Curse rumours after ‘cosy’ night with pro Michelle Tsiakkas

RUMOURS are rife that EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick is doing the tongue tango with his gorgeous Strictly Come Dancing partner Michelle Tsiakkas.

But the soap star says viewers hoping the couple have been struck by the show’s famous love curse are going to be disappointed — because she is more like his mum.

Jamie has revealed dance pro Michelle is more like his mum[/caption]

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Jamie, 30, said: “Honestly, it’s hilarious that people think we’re getting jiggy!

“I really don’t know where that comes from, but I think everyone kind of just pre-empts the Strictly curse.

“You definitely ain’t got no worries about Michelle — she’s like a sister, mum and auntie all rolled into one.

“She’s constantly like, ‘Have you slept well? Have you got this and that?’, I’m being mothered! We’ve got sibling chemistry.”

Fans were thrilled when Jamie appeared to confirm that he and Michelle had grown close, during a chat on Saturday’s show.

While telling a story about training, he said: “We had a delirious night the other night when we were just laying there.”

Host Claudia Winkleman leapt on the comment, hilariously adding: “Delirious night, snuggled up, please continue . . .”

But modest Jamie, who’s been on our screens as Walford’s Jay Brown since 2006, says he is sure neither 29-year-old Michelle nor his legion of fans would be interested in him anyway, thanks to his “pale little body”.

So he will be keeping everything under wraps, leaving hunks including Vito Coppola and Pete Wicks to show off their six-packs.

Could spell disaster

Asked if he is prepared to flash the flesh for votes, Jamie said: “I mean, we’ve done the rumba and that’s probably the best you’re going to get out of Borthwick!

“I feel like we should leave that to the big boys, the Vito and Pete Wicks of the world with their six-packs and stuff.

“I’m afraid I have a pale little body . . . all them women who want to marry me — they won’t want to after they see that.”

Jamie’s bulging social media inbox would suggest otherwise, as a flood of fans fight for his attention.

So has the influx of marriage proposals meant a relationship is something single Jamie might now be thinking about?

“Honestly, I haven’t got time to even have a haircut! There is not a woman on the planet who would settle for my schedule at the moment, I’ll tell you that.

“So, no, I think for the minute I’ll just focus on my salsa and stick with my ‘sister’ Michelle for the time being. Michelle can be my wing woman and weed out the good messages.”

He added: “That’ll take up about two and a half minutes of her day!”

Jamie is nearly two months into his Strictly journey and has been counting his blessings that he was paired with the Cypriot-British dancer.

Now in its 20th year, Strictly has been rocked by backstage bullying scandals that have dominated the headlines.

But the lad has no concerns about his own experience so far — though he admits he can see why a clash with your pro partner on the show could spell disaster.

He explained: “Michelle’s the perfect teacher, she’s patient and understanding. She really gets that I’ve never done this before and that every week I am learning something new. So she allows me the time to let it go into my muscle memory. She’s very, very supportive and understands me.

“She knows I need a little bit of fun during the day and a little bit of a laugh, and we have all of that as well.

“She gets the perfect balance.

“I actually couldn’t ask for a better partner because your dance partner is really what makes your experience.

“You know, God forbid, if you don’t get on then your experience is going to be terrible, it’s going to be a drag.

“I haven’t had a day where I’ve gone, ‘Look, I really don’t want to go in today and see Michelle because she’s annoying me’. Not once have I had a moment like that — honestly, she’s amazing.”

It’s a good job the pair have hit it off because Jamie is spending more time with Michelle than anyone else in his life right now.

EastEnders bosses have cut his filming schedule to one day a week so he can pack in a gruelling eight hours of training every day.

But he’s started to feel like the hard work is paying off.

Jamie explained: “Self-doubt does creep in. You think, ‘What am I doing here?’ You stand there waiting to hear if you’ve got through and I think about all these really happy moments that I’ve had and how much I’m loving being on Strictly.

“I think, ‘This can all come to an end in a minute’ and I do get a little bit sad that this could all be over soon.

“I’m certainly not taking anything for granted in any way. You know, I am genuinely heading into every week kind of going, ‘This could be my last week, so make sure I give it my all’. But I am critical of myself. This week when I came in on Monday I went, ‘Oh God, how on Earth am I going to do this salsa in five days? How am I going to perform this?’”

Panicked moments

He is clearly finding a way, after turning in a string of solid performances.

Jamie’s Elton John-themed quickstep for Movie Week bagged him 30 points, up from 27 for his rumba and 23 for a Viennese waltz in the previous week.

Jamie said: “The great thing about Strictly is you do it, you learn it, you go home and sleep on it and it just comes together.

Bobby Brazier, my EastEnders co-star who also did Strictly, said that to me — you have those panicked moments but it all works out in the end. But the competition is so tough this year.”

After winning the Strictly Christmas special last year, Jamie knows there’s a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

He has even faced comic digs from his rivals including Wynne Evans, who cheekily branded him a “cheat” for doing the series just months after the festive episode.

Jamie said: “I know they want to push me so that I do the best job I can. But this dancing thing, I’ve really got to work at it. You know, I don’t find it easy. It doesn’t come naturally to me.

“This is a really new challenge and it changes every week. I’m trying not to fall into any pressure traps. I’m trying to just remember that even if you win this show it’s still gonna be over before it’s begun.”

So is he bothered by the light-hearted swipes at his past triumph on the dance floor?

“You take whatever Wynne says with a pinch of salt!” he smiled.

“Honestly, the banter we have, we have a right laugh. We take the mickey out of each other and it’s all in good jest. We’ve really got a nice group this year.

“So when the reality of the competition hits, like Tom going out, it’s like a member of our gang’s gone. It’s horrible.”

Punk singer Toyah Willcox was booted from the ballroom last weekend and raised eyebrows when she warned her fellow dancers that if they want to avoid the dreaded dance-off they need to “get rid” of Chris McCausland.

The blind comic is hotly tipped to take the Strictly crown this year after wowing the judges and fans at home.

But Jamie insists he is ready to roll out the red carpet for his new pal.

He said: “I think what Chris is doing is absolutely amazing. It is one of the most incredible things I think we’ve ever seen.

“He’s such a lovely guy and what Dianne Buswell is doing with him is absolutely fantastic.

American Pickers’ Danielle Colby rocks weed pasties and thong as she twerks in burlesque show after Frank Fritz’s death

AMERICAN Pickers star Danielle Colby focused on work after the death of her longtime costar Frank Fritz, as she performed at her burlesque show days after his tragic passing.

Danielle, 48, hosted her Strip-O-Rama burlesque show on Friday, October 4th at the Skylark in Rock Island, Illinois.

Danielle, whose stage name Dannie Diesel, hosted the show as she introduced her other dancers throughout the evening.

The U.S. Sun can reveal exclusive photos and videos from the night of “allure and seductive charm.”

The American Pickers star kicked off the festivities with a performance, as she seductively danced to the Cypress Hill song Hits from the Bong with two large feathers as props.

Danielle kicked off the performance by lighting a joint.

The stoner theme did not stop with the music as she suggestively wafted green feathers that seemed to evoke marijuana leaves.

Danielle showed off her beautiful figure in a green bejeweled corset and matching headpiece for the performance.

She topped off the risque look with a ruffled see-through robe.

Danielle then slowly stripped down, as she wore just marijuana leaf pasties and a matching thong towards the end of the performance.

During the performance, which lasted around six minutes, Danielle thrusted, twerked and more as her seduction had the crowd cheering all throughout the dance.

When Danielle finished, she introduced the rest of the dancers, who gave sultry performances of their own with different themes.

At one point in the show, Danielle encouraged the audience to participate in a game.

She had guests crumble their dollar bills and throw them at her, specifically aiming for her bare butt.

Danielle yelled, “Bring me some money!” as she bent over and allowed the audience to hit her butt with the bills.

“It’s a big target! Come on you got this! Right on the rim, you got me,” she laughed, as she added, “This is what it feels like to run the world, right there!”

Then later on in the show, she had the audience aim for her breasts, as she jumped up and down while audience members tried to hit her assets with their bills.

“You can get close! We don’t bite unless we feel like it,” she said.

After the final performance, Danielle thanked her fans for their support.

“I feel the love in there tonight. I feel it deep, deep, deep down in my bones. You’re an amazing audience, we love you, thank you for being here with us!”

The show was a family affair, as Danielle’s daughter Memphis collected tickets at the door.

Danielle’s family and friends were also in the audience.

Dollars were available at the door for audience members with larger bills, as they also provided a Venmo account for tips.

Around 40 audience members were in attendance for the show.

There was a relaxed atmosphere as fans were allowed to openly film the sultry action on their phones.

Her upcoming shows and workshop classes are available on her website.

SAD LOSS

The show was a much-needed distraction from the passing of her longtime co-star Frank

Frank died at age 60 on September 30, two years after suffering a debilitating stroke.

Danielle posted the day after Frank’s passing, “Frank, I will miss your ability to make everyone laugh, your love for talking tattoos, your epic collections but what I will miss the most are those little glimpses of vulnerability from time to time.

“Frank, you loved your cat and your momma and we bonded on those things. You will be missed for all of these reasons and so many more. Rest in Peace Road Dog.”

Frank appeared on American Pickers from 2010 to 2020.

HEALTH CRISIS

Frank suffered a stroke in his Iowa home in July 2022 that left him in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation through the years.

Frank was wheelchair-bound after suffering the stroke

“He can walk, but he’s always going to need the wheelchair because he can’t walk long distances,” a friend told The U.S. Sun.

“Basically, you lose motion. He lost motion. A stroke can affect your left or your right side, it affected his right side.”

The U.S. Sun reported a conservatorship was filed for Frank in August 2022, just weeks after the stroke.

“Because of his stroke, Mr. Fritz’s decision-making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to care for his own safety or to provide for necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, or medical care without which physical injury or illness may occur,” documents obtained by The U.S. Sun read.

“Mr. Fritz’s decision-making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to make, communicate, or carry out important decisions concerning his own financial affairs.

“Decisions must be made for Mr. Fritz’s care and placement while he continues to recover and receive treatment for his injuries.”

The appointment of a guardian and conservator was deemed “necessary” to “avoid immediate harm to him.”

Frank Fritz's Conservatorship

Frank Fritz was placed under a conservatorship in August 2022, just weeks after he suffered a stroke.

  • Frank’s conservator is MidWestOne Bank and is in charge of his finances
  • The bank agreed to invest Frank’s money and collections to generate income
  • The guardian is his good friend Chris Davis
  • Chris is responsible for helping Frank manage his Crohn’s disease treatment, go to physical therapy, grocery shop, cook and more day-to-day tasks
  • The conservatorship also agreed to help replenish Frank’s Iowa antique store, Frank Fritz Finds
  • A wheel-chair ramp and more have been installed in his Iowa home under the conservatorship

NEW SEASON

Season 26 of American Pickers premiered on October 9 with Mike, 60, and Robbie Wolfe, Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay, and Danielle.

In an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, Frank’s close friend Jerry Gendreau revealed he would’ve returned to the show had it not been for his health issues.

“Mike came up with the idea for the show. Mike was smart enough to know the show would be perfect with Frank,” Jerry said.

“My analogy of the two, Mike and Frank was like Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin.

“Jerry Lewis, Frank, was just as important or maybe even more important for the show. It’s very hard to be the Jerry Lewis all of the time.

“I think Frank would’ve went back, but he had his health issues. And he did have some serious health issues. From 25 or 30 on he suffered from Crohn’s.”

Crohn’s is a bowel disease that causes inflammation in the digestive tract.

Jerry explained how Frank became a fan-favorite on the show because of his “spontaneity.”

“He was truly the comedian who popped out with some of the weirdest and dumbest things that you just go, ‘Wow,’” Jerry said.

“He made a mark on history.”

R. Kelly’s daughter Buku Abi claims he sexually abused her as a child but didn’t face charges despite her going to cops

R. KELLY’S daughter has accused her dad of sexually abusing her as a child, detailing the allegations in an emotional interview.

Buku Abi, who was born Joanne Kelly, claims the convicted sex offender abused her when she was around eight or nine years old.

The 26-year-old made the allegations, which Kelly denies, in TVEI Network’s new two-part documentary, R Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey.

“He was my everything” she says of her dad in the doc.

“For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe that it happened. I didn’t know that even if he was a bad person that he would do something to me.

“I was too scared to tell anybody. I was too scared to tell my mom.”

Abi says she told her mom in 2009, who took her to file the allegations in an anonymous report.

However, they were told cops would not be able to help as they had “waited to long” to speak out.

“I really feel like that one millisecond completely just changed my whole life and changed who I was as a person and changed the sparkle I had and the light I used to carry,” she said.

“After I told my mom, I didn’t go over there anymore; my brother [Robert] and sister [Jaah], we didn’t go over there anymore. And even up until now I struggle with it a lot.”

Joanne goes on to claim in the documentary that she was only eight or nine when the alleged abuse took place.

“I just remember waking up to him touching me,” she said through tears.

“And I didn’t know what to do, so I just kind of laid there, and I pretended to be asleep.”

Kelly has vehemently denied his daughter’s allegations.

In a statement shared with People the disgraced lawyers said, “His ex-wife made the same allegation years ago, and it was investigated by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services and was unfounded.

“And the ‘filmmakers,’ whoever they are, did not reach out to Mr Kelly or his team to even allow him to deny these hurtful claims.”

Restaurant chain forced to close location after 100 customers are sickened with unbearable pain lasting for weeks

A POPULAR restaurant chain has been forced to close its doors at a beloved location after dozens of customers were left with fevers and severe stomach pain due to a horrific outbreak.

LongHorn Steakhouse is under fire due to multiple people suffering food poisoning after eating at the restaurant’s location in Fairview Heights, Illinois, which is about 15 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri.

Sylvia Ledbetter, who suffered weeks of pain due to Shigellosis[/caption]

At least eight LongHorn customers were hospitalized due to Shigellosis, which is an infectious disease caused by a bacteria called Shigella.

The steakhouse remains closed as the St. Clair County Health Department and the Illinois Department of Public Health are working to investigate what caused the outbreak at the restaurant.

Over 100 customers have hired attorney Jory Lange, who specializes in food poisoning cases, after eating at the steakhouse – and he’s already filed three lawsuits in the county.

“The Longhorn Steakhouse Shigella outbreak is likely to continue to grow,” Lange said in a press release.

“Symptoms usually began 8 to 50 hours after eating Shigella-contaminated food.

“Once people get sick and go to the hospital, it takes time for stool tests to come back positive for Shigella and for those test results to be reported to hospitals.

“That’s why the outbreak numbers will likely continue to rise.”

Sylvia Ledbetter, one of the customers who hired Lange, told St. Louis’ CBS affiliate KMOV that the steakhouse was her favorite restaurant that she visited multiple times a month – but now she doesn’t think she’ll ever go back.

“I can’t go back, and I loved the place, but I just can’t go back,” Ledbetter told the outlet.

“I can’t chance it. Matter of fact, I’m fearful.”

At the end of September, she ordered her usual order of chicken strawberry salad, potato soup, and a strawberry lemonade. She started to feel sick the next day.

“My stomach pain was on a scale of maybe 9, 9.5,” Ledbetter said.

“Could’ve been 10 on some days.”

Shigella infection causes fevers and diarrhea. Ledbetter said her symptoms lasted for weeks.

What is Shigellosis?

A bacteria called Shigella causes an infection called Shigellosis that infects the intestine.

Shigella is often spread in restaurants and day care facilities.

Symptoms usually start one to two days after exposure and can last for seven days.

Shigellosis symptoms typically include:

  • Diarrhea that can be bloody
  • Fever
  • Abdominal pain and cramping

Shigella germs are in poop and they can spread from person to person through contaminated food, water, surfaces, or objects.

To avoid being infected, be sure to wash your hands and be extra careful when changing diapers.

About 450,000 people are infected with Shigellosis in the US each year, according to the CDC.

After two weeks of pain, Ledbetter went to the emergency room.

“I found myself not going to some of my daily routine activities like aqua classes in the pool or tai chi,” Ledbetter said.

“I didn’t want to do anything. I was tired and in pain.”

ON THE MENU

Lange said among his clients, there hasn’t been a common factor in any of the food items that might’ve contained the bacteria.

“Basically everything on the menu we have talked to multiple people who have ate there,” Lange told KMOV.

“We are not seeing one specific food product. We’re seeing the whole menu.”

Signs on the steakhouse’s doors tell customers that the restaurant is “closed voluntarily” as the investigation continues. It’s unclear when the spot will reopen.

WARNING TO RESTAURANT

Shigella bacteria could come from someone who works at the restaurant not properly washing their hands and spreading germs from fecal matter.

With this many people getting sick, there’s probably Shigella everywhere in that restaurant.”

Attorney Jory LangeKMOV

There have been 22 probable cases in the outbreak so far, according to the St. Clair County Health Department.

“The scary thing about this outbreak is, as a consumer, there’s nothing you can do to tell whether the food that you are buying is safe,” Lange said.

“You can’t taste, smell, or see Shigella. Food that is contaminated with Shigella may look, smell, and taste just like any other food.

“This is why it’s critical that restaurants who make and sell our food ensure the food is safe before they sell it.”

Lange said that the steakhouse could reopen safely if they test their employees for the infection and sanitize their restaurant.

“Test the employees,” Lange told KMOV.

“Require them to have two negative tests before they return but they need to scrub and sanitize and really carefully sanitize their facility because with this many people getting sick, there’s probably Shigella everywhere in that restaurant.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to LongHorn Steakhouse for comment.

Was Celine Dion’s moving Olympics performance FAKED? Shock claims star’s blockbuster stage return was ‘pre-recorded’

CELINE Dion’s showstopping performance at the start of the Paris 2024 Olympics was a fake, new claims allege.

Millions were moved to tears when the 56-year-old Canadian superstar sang Hymne à L’amour (Hymn to Love) in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Dion’s rare performance was a highlight of the Opening Ceremony after the Queen of Power Ballads was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.

But multiple music industry experts today have said the July 26th performance was pre-recorded, Liberation newspaper claims.

Paris 2024 organisers refused to answer questions on the scandal, despite previously insisting that the performance was indeed a live one.

Composer and performer Etienne Guéreau said: “What we heard on TV was a corrected playback.”

A sound engineer who asked to remain anonymous also said: “It was 100% playback, you can hear it from the first notes.”

Others said it was ‘”without a shadow of a doubt” pre-recorded, as was a performance by Dion in rehearsals.

The Olympics performance was a triumphant comeback for Dion, who has been battling the incurable stiff-person syndrome.

Hymne à L’amour was chosen because it was originally sung by the late French music icon Edith Piaf.

Thousands of fans took to social media to praise Dion, whose greatest hits include My Heart Will Go On, the theme from the Titanic movie.

One fan said: “Ok I’m proper emotional at Celine’s performance, just wow!”

Another gushed: “Queen Celine is back and she sounds fantastic”.

It was in 2022 that Dion disclosed that she was diagnosed with the neurological disorder which causes muscles to stiffen and spasm.

She then made a vow to return to the stage “even if I have to crawl”, adding: “My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!”

Around 104,000 people paid for tickets to watch the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony live, with the best seats costing more than £2500.

Despite heavy rain, many sat through multiple acts, including a pre-recorded number by Lady Gaga, which was shown on multiple screens along the river, as well as around the world.

But Dion’s performance was meant to be a live one, and it has just been released as such on various streaming platforms.

Dion announced on Instagram on Thursday that the ‘live’ recording was available on sites such as YouTube and Spotify.

She announced: “God brings together those who love each other.”

These are Piaf’s words to the love of her life, French-Algerian boxer Marcel Cerdan, who died in a plane crash in October 1949.

French president Emmanuel Macron spoke about the Dion Olympics performance in an interview with Variety magazine this week, saying it caused the “biggest emotion” of all at Paris 2024.

The Opening Ceremony mainly held along the banks of the River Seine – one that President Emmanuel Macron said was the “emotional highlight” of the sporting extravaganza.

‘BACK ON THE HORSE’

Aside from the Olympic Games, Celine is also planning a comeback in Las Vegas.

Sources exclusively told The U.S. Sun she is planning a limited run of shows this fall.

Celine is rumoured to be performing her greatest hits for a 70-minute show.

The shows will most likely take place at the Resorts World Theatre at around the time of the Las Vegas Formula One Grand Prix, a source said.

An insider revealed if Celine’s health gets worse the plan is to push the residency back.

Concert promoter AEG would host the shows, with a “short run at first” to see if Celine can handle performing live.

Celine, who lives in Sin City, has been rehearsing musicians and voice therapists for the last eight months, a source told The U.S. Sun.

“Her desire to return and entertain has been a huge driving force in her health battles,” the source said.

North West claims mom Kim Kardashian ‘hasn’t cooked for her in 2 years’ in wild Interview photoshoot

NORTH West has hilariously claimed her mom Kim Kardashian ‘hasn’t cooked for her in 2 years’.

Budding rapper North, 11, who spoke with her superstar parent as part of an Interview photoshoot, shared some unexpected details about her famous family.

It included the fact that Kim, worth $1.7billion, hasn’t whipped together dinner for her since 2022.

During the mother-daughter Q&A, Kim asked her firstborn what she thought of her cooking.

North bluntly responded, “You haven’t cooked for us in a long time. Last time you cooked was two Halloweens ago.”

Revealing the dish to be mac and cheese, Kim added, “And fried chicken and cornbread,” before joking, “I’m a one-trick pony.”

The conversation didn’t stop there, with North chiming in, “It’s good. It’s just that you’re really good at making me cucumbers and salt.”

With the family’s private chefs regularly seen on their Hulu show, it’s no wonder Kim’s been putting their skills to good use.

It comes after The Sun revealed the extensive measures Kim has taken to ensure her children are well cared for during their visits with their dad Kanye West and his new wife Bianca Censori.

The star has sent trusted nannies and security to accompany her four children Chicago, North, Psalm and Saint on trips with Kanye, 47, and Bianca, 29.

The Skims founder finalised her divorce from her ex in November 2022 after eight years of marriage, and they share custody of the kids.

However, Kim is being cautious, ensuring the children are supervised during their time with Kanye and his new partner and that their routines are not disrupted.

“Kim never lets the kids go away with Kanye without trusted nannies and her own security,” a source told us.

They continued: “There is a very tight schedule – what time they go to bed, what they eat, when they eat, how much sugar they have.

“Exactly where they go and how crowded those places are.”

Kanye married Bianca, an architectural designer for his Yeezy brand, in a non-legally binding ceremony just two months after his divorce from Kim.

The couple has been spotted together on multiple trips, including a much-talked-about vacation in Italy earlier this year where Bianca raised eyebrows in a number of risky outfits.

Kanye is now countering Kim’s approach to their children’s public exposure.

While Kim involves their kids in her reality TV show and social media, he has decided to put them on stage, claiming they enjoy it more than doing TV.

The source continued: “Kanye is playing Kim at her own game – he’s against her putting the kids on the family reality show and on TikTok, so he’s put them on stage.

“She’s always saying they like being on TV – well, he’s hitting back and saying they like being onstage.

“Everyone thinks it’s his new way to get publicity and make people pay attention to him – like how he parades Bianca around.”

Last month North took to the stage with her dad in South Korea.

Kanye live-streamed the concert on his YouTube channel, where fans back in the States and around the world watched him and his preteen daughter be cheered on by thousands of fans inside the Goyang Stadium in Seoul.

How rich are the Kardashians?

The Kardashian sisters are known for their extreme wealth, but which of them has the most money?

  • Kourtney Kardashian – net worth £52 million
  • Kim Kardashian -net worth £1.3 billion
  • Khloe Kardashian – net worth £48 million
  • Kendall Jenner – net worth £48 million
  • Kylie Jenner – net worth £545 million

KIM’S WORRIES

But the reality star is concerned about what their kids are “exposed to” around their rapper dad and Bianca, claimed a friend.

“Kim is constantly getting more and more alarmed about the stories she sees coming out about Kanye and Bianca,” said a source close to her.

“Every week it’s something different and she fears it’s no longer a healthy environment for the younger kids to be in.

“It’s not like she’s even in contact with Kanye directly – they either speak through nannies, [her mom] Kris or lawyers – but North sends her pictures and videos when she’s with her dad.

“It’s like Kim wants to see with her own eyes what’s going on – she’s saying she wants a sit-down meeting urgently with both of them to discuss co-parenting and put some new ground rules in place.”

Netflix has a secret club where you watch shows and movies before everyone else – and there are only two ways to qualify

YOUR Netflix subscription gets you loads of TV shows and movies – but there’s a secret club with even more perks.

It’s called the Netflix Preview Club, and it’s a special type of membership that gets you early access to upcoming content.

The Netflix Preview Club is a secretive upgrade to your membership that costs nothing – and has huge perks[/caption]

Once you’re in, you can watch TV shows and movies before they’re released to the general public.

And you’ll even be asked what you did and didn’t like about it – so it can be changed before it goes out on Netflix proper.

“Each screening involves watching a movie or an episode of a TV show, followed by a 10 to 20-minute survey,” Netflix explains.

“Depending on the TV show or movie runtime, it could take anywhere from 40 minutes to about three and a half hours.”

It’s an invitation-only club, and there are two ways to qualify.

HOW DOES NETFLIX PREVIEW CLUB WORK?

Once you’re into the Netflix Preview Club, you’ll have to answer an email questionnaire about your viewing preferences.

You’ll then receive invitations to scheduled screenings via email.

Usually these invitations will come a few days before the screening is available.

Netflix this advance notice is for “allowing you time to plan”.

“Screenings are usually open for a few days and we usually try to have them open on weekends,” Netflix said.

You’ll then get another email when the screening is available to watch on Netflix.

This will include a unique PIN and instructions for accessing the screening.

You’ll then have roughly four days to watch the screening and complete a survey.

Netflix says these surveys typically take between 10 to 20 minutes to complete.

NETFLIX CLUB INSIDERS REVEAL WHAT IT'S LIKE

Here are some comments from Reddit users in 2024 who say they received the special invitation..

Secret Member #1

“I did this last year. Watched about seven movies. Including some amazing ones that were not released yet, and some Oscar nominees. Also was invited to a small focus group to discuss the films. Pretty cool stuff. Some of the movies come out and it’s funny that I have watched over a year ago.”

Secret Member #2

“I was invited last year. I was sent a total of three movies, but I haven’t received anything in almost a year. The last movie I received was either last March or April. I’m not even sure if I’m still a part of it. When I contacted Netflix, they told me that if I was invited then I am still in it, but it doesn’t seem like I am. I checked my email often, so I’m not sure. I think it’s a cool concept though and I enjoyed it while I was getting things sent to me.”

Secret Member #3

“I don’t even remember signing up for it and got the PIN today. I probably did, but when I have no memory of this. I am on a similar one for Disney+ and you sign the NDA before you start any surveys.”

Secret Member #4

“I’ve done it a couple times so far. It’s super interesting seeing things before their final edit.”

There’s also a chance you get invited to an optional focus group to chat about the TV show or movie with other Netflix Preview Club members and a moderator.

Netflix says you can expect a few invitations a year – but it might be more or less.

“How many you get depends on factors like our screening schedule, the target audience for the TV show or movie, and your participation in past screenings,” Netflix explained.

Movies and shows that you watch might be in a very unfinished state.

In fact, Netflix says that you might notice:

  • Unfinished sound or visual effects
  • Green screens or stunt cables
  • No music in some scenes
  • Missing subtitles

Your feedback will be shared with the creators of the TV show or movie.

And Netflix says that past feedback has led to swapped scenes, edited visuals, and even re-shoots for entire sequences.

It’s super interesting seeing things before their final edit.

HOW TO JOIN NETFLIX PREVIEW CLUB

So how do you get in?

Netflix says it’s an “invite-only opportunity” offered to members – and there’s no cost to join.

You’ll be pre-selected based on two criteria:

  • Your viewing behaviour
  • How long you’ve been a Netflix member

BONUS WAY TO WATCH

Netflix says that there's a third way to watch preview content...

“While the primary account owner needs to join Netflix Preview Club, screenings can be enjoyed by everyone you live with,” Netflix explains.

“Regardless of their age (just remember that everyone who watches must keep the information confidential).

“Each screening invite includes details about the show or movie, like a plot summary and estimated rating, so you can make informed choices about who to watch with.

“Sometimes, we specifically encourage you to watch with certain types of people, such as kids, when we have an animated show or movie available.”

There’s no way to request membership, and there’s no telling exactly how to game the criteria to join.

If you receive an email to join, it will only come from one of the following two addresses:

  • noreply@netflixpreviewclub.com
  • noreply@members.netflix.com

If a Netflix invitation in your inbox doesn’t come from those email addresses then you’re being scammed.

You may also receive a notification in the Netflix app.

When you follow the invitation link, you’ll be sent to a website hosted by Alida where you’ll be able to complete the joining process.

All 597 stores will be closed to mark Thanksgiving, which falls on November 28 this year, the chain has announced.

Bosses have allowed workers to have the day off to celebrate the holiday with their families.

The company says it has shuttered stores for the Thanksgiving holiday for more than 30 years.

OTHER CLOSURES

AldiBest Buy, and JCPenney locations also closed last year to mark the celebration.

Walgreens chiefs made the historic decision last year to close most of its stores for Thanksgiving.

But its 24-hour stores remained open – despite the holiday.

Kroger, Albertsons, and Whole Foods shoppers were warned that stores’ timetables would differ depending on location.

Shoppers needing last-minute groceries could still buy items from Dollar General and Big Lots stores.

Walmart has also confirmed thousands of its stores will be closed for Thanksgiving.

This year will be the fifth consecutive year that supermarkets will be for the November celebration.

Since the late 1980s, Walmart supermarkets were always open on Thanksgiving but in 2020, the company broke with tradition.

John Furner, the CEO of Walmart U.S., explained at the time it was a reward for the sacrifices staffers had made during the pandemic.

He hailed workers for stepping up and told USA Today: “We want you to enjoy the day at home with your loved ones.”

Furner said the idea to close stores for Thanksgiving came from a Walmart worker in Texas.

Walmart stores are expected to open at their normal hours the day before Thanksgiving and on Black Friday.

The supermarkets are open for most holidays throughout the year.

After Thanksgiving, the next time stores will be closed is Christmas Day.

Many chains have not yet announced their holiday hours yet.
