Why I won’t try so hard to make next Christmas ‘magical’
This Christmas was the first restrictionless Christmas since the beginning of the pandemic and I, like many parents I’m guessing, tried to make it extra special. And I know for a fact I won’t be putting quite as much of an effort next year. These days, and this year especially, it felt like there was […]

Mrs. Doubtfire Cast: Where are they now?
It wouldn’t be the Christmas season unless we tuned into some of our favourite classic family movies and Mrs Doubtfire is one of the best. With classic one-liners, Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire was a hip granny who could hip-hop, be-bop dance till you drop and yo-yo made a wicked cup of cocoa. Underneath it all, it […]

McDonald’s customers have days left to try rare menu item before it’s axed
MCDONALD’S customers have just days left to try a rare menu item before it’s axed.
The home of the Golden Arches stunned customers when it said the Grimmace Shake would return to menus this December.
The milkshake – which is inspired by the chain’s purple mascot – landed in UK restaurants for the first time in August but was only around for a week.
It was already a fan favourite in the States and went viral when it was launched across the pond.
The sweet treat is purple and features a blueberry-flavoured syrup blended with a creamy milkshake base.
It is also the first time McDonalds has mixed things up with its flavours – which are typically just strawberry, chocolate and vanilla.
It is currently available to buy across McDonald’s 1,450 stores this winter, and the drink has been raved about by customers.
In a post online, one diner said: “Managed to get one after missing out last time. It was delicious.”
While another said: “Tried it for the first time just now, I’m not a fan of blueberry, but this was delicious.”
But customers who are keen to get their hands on a shake will need to act quickly.
That’s because Maccies is pulling the product from menus on December 24, giving fans just nine days to get their hands on one.
A medium Grimace shake will set you back £2.69 – or £2.99 if you want to upgrade to a large.
This is compared to the usual cost for a regular medium McDonalds milkshake which is £1.99 or £2.19 for a large.
However, bear in mind that prices can vary depending on which McDonald’s store you are visiting.
McDonald’s has treated fans to a number of new menu items over the past few months.
Last month it launched a new Chilli Double Cheeseburger, which landed on its saver menu for £2.49.
It features two 100% British and Irish beef patties, two slices of cheese, onions, jalapenos, pickles and spicy relish in a toasted bun.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s also launched its brand new Christmas menu, which featured a never-before-seen Terry’s Chocolate Orange Pie.
You can check out the full festive menu, which is available in stores now, below:
- Big Tasty meal – £7.59

How to save money at McDonald’s
Did you know that you can end up being charged more based on which branch of McDonald’s you choose to eat at?
There can be up to a 30p price difference in a Big Mac meal at restaurants which are just two miles away from each other, The Sun previously found.
Another way to cut back spending at McDonald’s is by ordering from the Savers menu or by taking advantage of its ‘3 for £3’ deal when it lands in stores.
It is also worth bearing in mind that McDonald’s offers a discount on your next order if you fill out a survey online after visiting its stores.
These can be found on the back of any receipt you get at McDonald’s.
How do I find my nearest McDonald’s?
If you’re planning on taking a trip to McDonald’s, you’ll want to know where your nearest branch is.
The chain has a restaurant locator tool on its website you can use to find your nearest one – and check what time it opens.
Bear in mind that McDonald’s serves breakfast every day until 11am.
After that, it switches to the normal menu, serving meals such as burgers, chicken nuggets and more.

Fans convinced Carlo Ancelotti has had lip fillers as reason for Real Madrid manager’s swollen mouth is revealed
FANS were transfixed by a lip-smacking thriller – then wondered if Carlo Ancelotti had lip-swelling filler.
Viewers were open-mouthed in astonishment at the Real Madrid boss’s bottom lip in a press conference following a 3-3 draw at Rayo Vallecano.
Viewers were entranced by Carlo Ancelotti’s lips[/caption] Jude Bellingham had earlier netted as Real Madrid drew 3-3[/caption] Ancelotti saw his Real team fail to move top of LaLiga[/caption]Many fans reckon the legendary ex-Chelsea chief must have had botox treatment or an operation
One posted: “What’s wrong with your lip? Have you had surgery?”
Another said: “I’ve been giggling about Ancelotti‘s lip filler since I woke up”
A third wrote: “Can someone explain to me what Ancelotti has done to his lips?”
The unexpected debate about Ancelotti’s facial features came after Jude Bellingham netted for a sixth LaLiga match in a row.
The last player to do that was Real icon Karim Benzema eight years ago.
But the draw means Ancelotti’s men remain a point behind neighbours Atletico Madrid and leaders Barcelona.
So one frustrated fan asked: “Why did Ancelotti get lip filler. This is not a serious club.”

Spanish outlet mundodeportivo say his large lips were due to an allergy.
But it didn’t save the former Bayern Munich and Everton boss from less than generous jibes.
Plenty of fans on social media made up their own mind over the cause of the apparent swelling.
One wrote: “Ancelotti has punctured his lips or is it just me.”
Another said: “Ancelotti has been more concerned about his lips than about today’s game.”
That was particularly unkind as Real recovered from trailing 2-0 to lead 3-2 through Federico Valverde, Bellingham and Rodrygo.
But Isi Palazon rescued a valuable point for second-bottom Vallecano.
So for Ancelotti it wasn’t a case of all’s swell that ends swell.
Brighton 1 Crystal Palace 3: Ismaila Sarr scores twice after Trevoh Chalobah as Eagles STUN rivals
ISMAILA SARR inspired Crystal Palace to rip through rivals Brighton, with a helping hand from Michael Oliver.
The Eagles ended Fabian Hurzeler’s unbeaten home run in the Premier League, leaving The Amex stunned and silent.
Sarr, signed to replace Michael Olise, grabbed a superb double after Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring against the run of play – with Oliver hindering Brighton’s defending in the build-up to the first goal.
Marc Guehi gave Brighton a late own goal but not even he will care on reflection.
It lifted Oliver Glasner’s men further from trouble at the bottom. After a rotten start to the season, they have now lost just one in their last eight.
Palace had not beaten Brighton in their last six attempts in this rather bizarre rivalry.
The way the visitors started looked as if that trend was set to continue.
Glasner was throwing his arms up in the air at his side’s attempts to play out, with Marc Guehi getting lucky on one occasion when robbed of the ball yards from the touchline.
But Brighton could not capitalise on Palace’s nervousness and the momentum swung thanks to Oliver’s shoulder and some shocking defending.
Palace began a rare break. Carlos Baleba moved to stop Eberechi Eze in his tracks but was prevented by the referee being in his path.

As officials only need to stop the game if the ball hits them, play was allowed to continue and the Eagles won a corner and then another, from which they struck.
Will Hughes whipped a ball to the near post which, after missing Jean-Philippe Mateta, should have been easy to defend.
But Brighton made a mess of it. The ball struck Jean Paul van Hecke and fell for Sarr, unmarked yards from goal.
The winger could not quite connect, but Chalobah was also left alone and free to convert his second goal since joining from Chelsea.
Brighton collapsed from there. Palace were showing strength the hosts could not match.
Bart Verbruggen saved well from Daniel Munoz three minutes after the first, but was helpless to stop Sarr moments later.
The visitors clipped a deep free-kick out towards Tyrick Mitchell. Both he and Tariq Lamptey, who was hooked at the break, effectively ducked the header, leaving the ball to bounce off Mitchell’s back.
He turned and swung a fine cross to the far post, where Sarr had been allowed to glide between two blue and white shirts to nod in.
It could have been three before the break, though Eze headed just wide from a Munoz cross.
Julio Enciso was thrown on at the interval and Hurzeler, after spending the first half venting at officials, had clearly saved a bit of that anger for his players.
They emerged with an intensity which had been desperately lacking before half-time, though they could not keep it up.
Maxence Larcroix had to block an effort from Kaoru Mitoma before Dean Henderson made a smart stop from Lewis Dunk’s header.
The England keeper was hardly tested in the first half, but was far busier now, making a flying save to stop the electric Enciso.
Glasner made changes of his own, with Daichi Kamada and Eddie Nketiah coming on while Eze hobbled off.
Brighton had failed again to take advantage of Palace’s early wobble after the restart and soon the visitors were causing trouble again.
Munoz had the ball in the net for a third, what would have been his third in four games, but the goal was ruled out correctly for a foul by Sarr in the build-up.
With Nketiah through the middle Palace were again a threat on the break.
The former Arsenal man went close at the near post before feeding a ball through to Sarr, who was stopped by Verbruggen.
He was not to be denied next time around. Palace again showed more fight as Hughes and Nketiah beat their men to headers, sending Sarr in.
He beat Dunk to the ball before slotting past Verbruggen and making straight for the jubilant Palace fans.
Not even a late and chaotic Guehi own goal, after Henderson fumbled the ball at a corner, could dampen their spirits.

Keir Starmer takes to football pitch for his weekly game of five-a-side – but can you spot what’s ‘wrong’ with his kit?
SIR Keir Starmer enjoyed his weekly kickabout today – but shunned an England shirt.
The Labour leader instead donned a 2024-2025 Netherlands away top while he played for his five-a-side team in North London.

The Arsenal fan was put through his paces in the friendly Sunday league game.
At one point he unleashed a fierce shot in midfield and was also spotted helping out an injured player.
He urged his team on in the kickabout and argued their case with the ref as his side drew 8-8.
Sir Keir wore an elastic support band for a knee injury he picked up before the game.
The 62-year-old is a big football fan and is often spotted watching Arsenal at the Emirates.
He has been part of the same weekly five-a-side game for decades and has vowed to play on unless “irreparably injured”.
The head of the Labour Party previously said: “Unless I’m irreparably injured, I intend to do it for as long as I possibly can.
“I used to be FA-registered, it was competitive stuff, but these are friendlies, eight-a-side and five-a-side.”
He also hailed England’s Euros semi-final win against the Netherlands in July as he attended the Nato summit in Washington DC.
“What a game England and what a winner,” the Prime Minister wrote on X, formerly Twitter, at the time.
He watched Harry Kane score England’s equaliser during the match in a room with his Dutch counterpart.
The PM shook hands with the Netherlands’ Dick Schoof after the spot-kick was drilled home.
But Sir Keir recently came under fire when it emerged he and other ministers accepted freebie tickets.
He said he used the directors’ box because of security concerns.
In September, Keir hit back at accusations he was “King of the Freebies” as he defended his VIP Arsenal tickets.
The Prime Minister insisted it was “common sense” for him to sit in football hospitality seats after declaring more than £100,000 of gifts.
