Aldi shoppers fume as highly-anticipated wooden toys sell out MINUTES… and are already on eBay for ‘triple the price’

PARENTS across the UK are fuming after missing out on Aldi’s new wooden toy range – only to find it on eBay for “triple the price”.

The budget supermarket’s Wooden Toy Event landed in its middle aisles yesterday just in time for Christmas and sold out in minutes.

There’s also wooden cake toys, and other “kitchen” items[/caption]

The limited edition range contains 84 toys, mostly made from wood, according to the Aldi website

But despite its volume, a number of loyal customers missed out on nabbing any of the wooden toys.

Aldi bosses even warned shoppers to “run, don’t walk” to their nearest store ahead of the drop.

They said: “They’ll be gone faster than your chance of a lie-in.”

This meant mums and dads were queuing up outside stores from 6am in hope of nabbing some of the toys for their kids

Among the best buys were the £24.99 Little Town Wooden Aldi Supermarket and £9.99 Little Town Wooden Toy Roleplay Bags.

The £7.99 Little Town Wooden Cuthbert Cake was also highly desired.

However, also in the early-morning queues were resellers looking to buy multiple of every available product to stick them on eBay for an inflated price.

And now, just 24 hours after the launch, items from the range have been listed for “triple the price” on the auction site.

Among current eBay listings from the Wooden Toy Event is the Cuthbert Cake for £35 plus £3.99 postage – a whopping £31 mark-up.

Another seller has listed the Takeaway Roleplay Bag for an eye-watering £25 plus £6 postage – despite it costing less than a tenner in-store.

Others are trying to flog the Wooden Aldi Supermarket toy set for £59.99 plus £6 postage – more than DOUBLE its original price.

A number of virtuous Aldi customers have taken to TikTok this morning to share their upset at resellers.

“The fact you haven’t put limits on how much people can buy – shame on you Aldi,” one slammed.

The Rise of Reselling

In recent years, auction sites like eBay has seen a significant rise in users flogging viral products at inflated prices.

From must-have kitchen gadgets to limited-edition beauty items, products that gain sudden popularity on platforms like TikTok and Instagram are sold for two to three times their original value.

Aldi’s Specialbuys are typically subject to the new trend, due to their limited edition nature.

Some consumers find the practice frustrating, and argue that it takes advantage of desperate buyers and exploits them with steep price tags. Others view it as a business opportunity, with resellers cashing in on trending items.

“People are greedy and fill up several trollies to resell. It’s awful.”

“It’s so disgusting that resellers go in and buy everything to sell for profit, while us normal folk can’t get to Aldi early in the morning as we have to go to work,” a second bashed.

“There should be a limit per item,” a third said. “People going in early getting five of each is appalling.”

Some shoppers even complained that resellers are listing the items on Vinted, which is against the second-hand app’s policy.

Other shoppers urged Aldi to take action against resellers.

One suggested: “You really need to put restrictions on these toys as people are selfishly buying them to resell for crazy amounts on Vinted.

“It’s so unfair for people who want affordable toys for their kids.”

A second said: “If you made more of things, then people wouldn’t have to buy overpriced ones off eBay, and there would be no incentive for people to overbuy and resell at hugely inflated prices.”

Aldi confirmed on its TikTok page that the most shops “have had their lot” of the wooden toys – meaning they won’t be restocking.

Film branded ‘one of the best horrors of the 21st century is on TV TONIGHT

HALLOWEEN is fast approaching and horror fans can get their fix early as a film rated ‘one of the best horrors of the 21st century’ is to be shown on TV.

Fans are in for a treat as Candyman, a 2021 spin off to the 1992 cult horror classic will be shown on BBC Three tonight.

The film focuses on an urban legend in the housing projects of Chicago’s Cabrini-Green neighbourhood about a spooky supernatural killer with a sinister hook for a hand.

Fans will remember from the original 1992 film how he is summoned by those who repeat his name five times into a mirror.

The 2021 film and it’s terrifying scenes left horror fans “too scared to take a shower.”

The cult classic, directed by Bernard Rose, starred Tony Todd as Daniel Robitaille and Virginia Marsden, as Helen Lyle.

However Candyman, directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Jordan Peele, is set in present day, with the towers torn down.

Visual artist Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and his partner, gallery director Brianna Cartwright (Teyonah Parris), move into a luxury loft.

Anthony begins to explore the history of the land which the new apartment is built on, and a fresh take on the legend begins.

Colman Domingo plays a man called William Burke who tells Antony about the Candyman and Tony Todd returns as the evil killer.

Reviewing Candyman 2021, on Rotten Tomatoes, one critic said: “Candyman is a worthy sequel to the 1992 original. It’s well-paced and it builds upon the universes mythology in a meaningful way.”

Another said: “A breathtaking beauty of a horror film. Clever, brutal and entrancing, it spreads its dark wings over you as you watch the colours in front of you.”

Meanwhile audience reviews were equally glowing: “Lives up to the original as a worthy successor and dives deeper into narratives of the original. Stronger social commentary, graphics, story, and kills that revive the franchise to its former glory.”

Before the 2021 Candyman movie, there were two other films, released in 1995 and 1999 called Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh and Candyman: Day of the Dead.

This means it is the fourth film made about the legend, based on short story The Forbidden by Clive Barker.

Katie Price accused of scamming fans who complain they ‘spent £100s and got NOTHING back’

FURIOUS Katie Price fans hit out after they failed to receive their orders from a clothing firm – and banks were forced to cough up refunds.

Bankrupt Katie – who is currently in Cyrprus – has been modelling clothes from JYY London and helping to shift stock on her social media accounts including TikTok.

Fans have claimed their purchases never arrived and banks were forced to issue refunds after their pleas were ignored

But some purchases never arrive and banks have been forced to issue refunds through their chargeback schemes to customers who raised “disputes” having been ignored by the fashion firm.

Fuming shoppers have turned to Trustpilot to complain in their droves.

Some were appalled when JYY London, now owned by Katie’s entrepreneur pal Jeyda Yilmaz, offered followers cheap lucky dip bags and payday discount codes.

One unhappy customer, Suzanne, vowed never to buy from the online shop again after forking out £82 on leggings, boots and a lucky dip bag along with next day delivery.

She told The Sun: “Katie is promoting this. The thing is, they’re still responding to queries about the clothes on social media.

“I saw someone said, ‘Have you got this in a size 12?’ and they reply to that.

“I’ve reached out through all different platforms and nothing. It’s disgraceful.

“I contacted the bank and they put it down as fraud and refunded me yesterday.”

Others have shared comments on JYY’s social posts and one said: “Scammers items don’t arrive.”

Another angry customer commented: “It’s been two months I’ve not received my order. I’ve emailed so many times.

“Nobody is getting back to me, l’m trying to get your attention can somone please get back to me.”

One more also contacted their bank, writing: “I rang my bank explained what happened so been put down as fraud and I got my money back from bank.”

Over on Trustpilot, more complaints pour in. One of many said back in August: “Incorrect item was sent to me (the item I’ve received is absolutely awful).

“I’ve tried to contact them numerous times by e mail, live chat, social media and even post (they don’t have a phone number). Can’t get a coherent reply so I am having to claim a refund via my banks chargeback scheme. Would advise anyone to avoid JYY.”

Another frustrated buyer said: “Ordered and paid £180 for 6 items only for 2 to be delivered. I have sent 4 emails, messaged through the website and on the instagram page and have heard nothing back. I first contacted them on the 23rd August and still had no response.”

JYY London host a number of celebrity collaborations, one with Chloe Ferry who regularly models for the brand.

When contacted by The Sun, a rep for Katie and JYY London insisted many items are sold to order.

They said: “Some of our items online are preorder; meaning people order them and we make them to order due to high demand and selling out faster than we expected.

“Online there are dispatch dates of when peoples orders will get dispatched and our customer service team are always working and replying to customers queries everyday 7 days a week.

“We have over 30,000 happy customers every month purchasing from us and as a brand we do our best to provide the best service.

“As a business you will get complaints now and again however we have been running now for over 10 years and we always take on board the feedback good or bad.

“We offer exchanges and refunds on all items as this is our company policy within 30 days of items being delivered to the customer – this is UK rules which we adhere to strictly.

“We have just launched two new successful autumn collections which some styles have sold out in minutes (hence the preorders).

“We look forward to working with Katie Price, Chloe Ferry and all the other hardworking celebrity women of the UK for our next 10 years in Business.”

KATIE’S MONEY WOES

In March, Katie was declared bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05.

The demand for payment was made by HMRC last October.

Katie was due to give evidence about her finances at the High Court but failed to turn up – holidaying in Cyprus with her new man JJ Slater instead.

The 46-year-old was one of the UK’s most successful glamour girls in the nineties and built up an estimated £45m fortune.

In a podcast interview earlier this year, she blamed her exes who include Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler and lawyers for her money woes

1998-2000: Katie described Dane Bowers as ‘the love of her life’ but she broke up with the singer when he allegedly cheated on her.

2001: Footballer Dwight Yorke is the father of Katie’s eldest child Harvey. He has had very little to do with Harvey throughout his life.

2020-2023: Car salesman Carl Woods took a shining to Katie in 2020. Their relationship was up and down for three years. They broke up for a final time last year.

2024-present: After weeks of rumours, Katie confirmed her relationship with Married At First Sight star JJ Slater in February this year.

The sportsman was a much loved star[/caption]

Born in 1964, Lenny Persin, known as Big Lenny, was a much-loved star in bodybuilding.

Over the years he took part in multiple competitions.

His last known one was in 2017 when he participated in the NPC Ruby Championship and finished in second place.

Before getting ill, Big Lenny told fans he hoped to take part in the same competition in 2024.

Lenny passes away

Sadly it was revealed in October 2024, that he had passed away.

The news were confirmed in a YouTube video by fellow bodybuilder Dave Palumbo.

He said: “Big Lenny Persin is no longer with us. He passed over the last couple days, we’re not really sure exactly what day.

“He was suffering from congestive heart failure for quite some time now.

“Big Lenny was an icon in the sport. He carved out a unique niche for himself, leading a group of bodybuilders who went by the name of the Del Rey Misfits.

“He was their fearless leader.”

Health issues

Although his cause of death is yet to be revealed, the legendary competitor was suffering from congestive heart failure prior to his death.

Lenny previously posted a video from a hospital bed, where he talked through his health struggle.

Speaking with a breathing tube in his nose, he said: “I have congestive heart failure.

“This means the left ventricle of my heart doesn’t pump blood as it properly should.”

Tributes have poured in for Big Lenny[/caption]

Paying tribute

Tributes poured in for the late star, as the world of bodybuilding paid their respects to Lenny.

One person wrote: “Such a great guy and always fun to be around! Will miss you Big Lenny!”

While another said: Damn, he was a big inspiration back in 2015/2016 for working out. Rip.”

This one tweeted: “Lenny was super positive he will be missed. Rest in Peace Lenny.”

One of the biggest guys, the biggest guy in the room and, you know, if there’s one thing we can all learn from Big Lenny is that he lived each day to the fullest.

Jon Bravo

Another wrote: “Now this is heartbreaking because that big gentle giant meant no ill will towards anyone that he might offended.”

Industry expert Jon Bravo also paid tribute in a touching YouTube video.

He said: “I had a chance to know him and he was a gentle giant, you know.

“One of the biggest guys, the biggest guy in the room and, you know, if there’s one thing we can all learn from Big Lenny is that he lived each day to the fullest.

“It didn’t matter if he lived in a rundown apartment filled with roaches and dirt and mold, each day, he had a smile on his face, and each day he found a way to make himself happy.”

Jon added: “I want to send my regards to all his fans, he was well loved in the fitness industry for so many years.

“He’s a staple of the fitness industry and he’s another one that we have lost too early.”

Congestive heart failure

Congestive heart failure means that the heart is unable to pump blood around the body properly. It usually happens because the heart has become too weak or stiff.

Heart failure does not mean your heart has stopped working. It means it needs some support to help it work better.

It can occur at any age, but is most common in older people.

Heart failure is a long-term condition that tends to get gradually worse over time.

It cannot usually be cured, but the symptoms can often be controlled for many years.

Symptoms of heart failure:

  • Breathlessness after activity or at rest.
  • Feeling tired most of the time and finding exercise exhausting.
  • Feeling lightheaded or fainting.
  • Swollen ankles and legs.

Mum of 3 kids who vanished with ‘Bushman’ fugitive dad reveals heartbreaking theory after children spotted in wilderness

THE mother of three missing kids who vanished with their father has revealed a heartbreaking theory after the gang were recently spotted.

Cat believes her daughter issued a coded cry for help, after chilling footage of the three fugitive children and father emerged.

Tom Phillips, 37, has been on the run for more than two years in New Zealand with his children Jayda, Maverick and Ember.

The gang of four were spotted on private farmland in camo gear and rucksacks by a group of pig farmers.

A brief interaction between a farmer and her daughter Jayda has given a heartbroken Cat brief hope.

One of the hunters who spotted the gang told Stuff.co.nz: “I said, ‘This is private property’, and she was like, ”Yeah… duh’.

“Then I asked, ‘Does anyone know you’re on here’ and she said, ‘No, just you guys’.”

An emotional Cat told Mata Reporters that she believed the brief conversation was a desperate plea from Jayda.

She said: “Is that a cry for help? Is that ‘Does anybody know that we’re here? Is anyone coming for us?’

“We don’t get to hear the tone of her voice but to me, that’s what I think.

‘It’s like she’s trying to say something without actually saying something because her father is right there, and she’s worried if she says the wrong thing and words it the wrong way.

“She’s worried about later repercussions.”

The sighting marked the first time Cat had seen any footage of her children in nearly three years and was relieved to see them alive.

She added: “It was really good, they’re carrying their own gear, it’s the best news that anybody could hope for.

“I can’t imagine what they’ve endured in these three years, it’s just wrong on so many levels.”

The devastated mother said she felt that the police hadn’t done enough to bring her children home.

She said: “The system has failed my children miserably from the get-go.

“They shouldn’t have to live like this, they deserve so much more. They deserve to have friends, they deserve to go to the park and eat McDonald’s.”

She added: “I just want my babies home. I still have some of their clothes and Christmas presents from the year they disappeared.

“I don’t even know what they look like now.”

In her attempt to cope with the loss of her children, Cat says she tries to pretend they aren’t still missing.

She has two other daughters, who are older than the three kids with their father, but admits she feels “lost”.

She said: “Since they’ve been gone, I’ve lost my way. I’m not me. They were my world, they were my everything.

“I feel like I didn’t fight hard enough, I didn’t make enough noise. I feel like it’s my fault.”

a map of new zealand and a picture of a man on a motorcycle

Dubbed “The Bushman”, Philips, along with his kids Jayda, 10, Maverick, nine, and Ember, seven, were reported missing from the village of Marokopa on January 18, 2022.

Police in New Zealand have attempted to locate him multiple times over the past 30 months but the expert bushman managed to escape each time.

They’re believed to be hiding in remote bushland.

While Philips has been spotted a few times after disappearing, new footage shows the fugitive dad along with his kids together for the first time since they vanished.

The sighting is understood to have taken place on Waikato’s west coast, around 1.8 miles south of Marakopa – the family’s former home.

Cops confirmed the sighting was credible, but failed to locate the family even after an extensive search operation.

Philips is believed to have crafted a network of refuges around the area, The Times report.

In June, New Zealand cops posted a £38,500 (NZ$80,000) reward for information about the whereabouts of the missing dad and his three children.

Hundreds of armed officers alongside choppers have so far scoured the backcountry around Marokopa.

Detective Inspector Andrew Saunders said: “There’s obviously not the gold nugget … of this is where he is. We haven’t got that yet.”

He added that Phillips was armed and was a risk to the community who should not approach him.

He said: “We have concerns for the welfare of the children who have been living in isolation for the past two and a half years, with no connection to others and without formal education and healthcare.”

TIMELINE OF HIS DISAPPEARANCE

In September 2021, the dad and his three kids vanished for the first time after his truck was found abandoned at a beach.

When they appeared shortly afterwards he said they were on a camping trip.

Phillips had been due to appear in court charged with wasting police resources but failed to do so.

In January 2022 the dad and the three kids disappeared for the second time – never to reappear again.

Phillips was spotted in the farming town of Te Kuit last year when he robbed a bank at gunpoint before fleeing in a stolen motorcycle alongside a child.

A month later, in August, he was seen speeding in a stolen Toyota Hilux.

He was caught on CCTV in November with a child, trying to break into a store in Piopio.

Inside Prince George’s REAL career dreams, as he’s not expected to serve in the Armed Forces – & it’s NOT being a King

PRINCE George – who is second in line for the British throne – will not be expected to serve in the Armed Forces before becoming King.

However, fans of the Royal Family may very well bump into the 11-year-old at the local Italian place, if Prince George follows his real career aspirations.

Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte loves olives whilst Prince Louis is fond of pizza and curry[/caption]

This is because the eldest of the Prince and Princess of Wales‘ children was so excited to see a pizza parlour that he declared he saw his future working in the kitchen.

Desmond MacCarthy, who owns Wiveton Hall Cafe, near Blakeney, claimed that when the future King was shown the wood-fired pizza oven, the Prince George exclaimed: ”That’s what I want to do when I grow up!”

Desmond, whose cosy restaurant is located at his 17th century manor home, said of the 11-year-old: ”He was a sweet boy – they start to become less appealing as they grow up.”

George paid a visit to the restaurant with his mum, Catherine and others.

”They came here with their friends, because Sandringham isn’t that far away,” Desmond said, referring to King Charles‘ rural retreat, where Prince William and Kate, both 42, have the Anmer Hall, their holiday home.

Unfortunately for the aspiring chef, he won’t be able to work at Wiveton Hall Cafe because it is to close its doors next month after 17 years in the business.

”There has been an increase in costs, with electricity very high, and it has been harder to recruit staff,” Desmond explained to Daily Mail.

”Despite having a very busy summer, it is difficult to run a business 12 months a year if it is seasonal and only profitable for a few months.”

Prince George – who recently took up a pretty hardcore hobby – seems to be quite fond of the Italian cuisine.

Whilst many of his peers might beg their parents for a cheeky McDonald’s Happy Meal, the 11-year-old has acquired more sophisticated tastes – and his favourite meal is pretty posh.

One chef, Aldo Zilli, who has met the Royal Family on several occasions, revealed that eldest son loves nothing more than a creamy spaghetti carbonara.

Aldo said: “[William is] amazing. I’m waiting for the call because apparently, his little boy’s favourite is spaghetti carbonara, so I’m waiting for the call to go and cook it for him.”

He joked: “If George has my carbonara, he will never have another one!”

Kate Middleton's 'golden rule' with George, Charlotte and Louis

KATE'S key rule for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis is about kindness.

According to HELLO! Online’s Royal Correspondent: “Based on observations of photographs of Princess Diana at the time, and the current Princess of Wales, they are both very affectionate with their children.

“Kate is often seen holding her children’s hands or picking them up for cuddles when they were smaller.

“There are often lots of comforting gestures, such as a pat on the back or stroking their hair. When interacting with other children on her public engagements, Kate often crouches down to their level to engage with them – something that Diana would often do.”

When she’s at the family’s home of Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, despite her royal status, insiders say Kate is just like any other “normal mum”.

A friend explained that behind closed doors, the 42-year-old is “very chilled at home” but definitely not a pushover and will tell the kids off when needed.

They told PEOPLE: “It’s a normal, busy family home with kids running around and knocking things over. There’s no airs and graces.

“She is doing that to help her children be more grounded and keep their reality in check. That’s what really matters to her.”

“So I need to go and make it, let’s get the ball rolling. Send me to the palace to cook!”

His sister, Princess Charlotte, also has a firm favourite when it comes to food and snacks – and it’s equally just as posh.

Royal correspondent Rebecca English tweeted at the time: “The Duchess of Cambridge revealed today that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, loves olives.

“And she encourages both her and Prince George to cook with her.

“They made cheesy pasta together the other day!”

Meanwhile, the youngest of the family, Prince Louis is said to be fond of pizza and curry – however, the six-year-old is also keen on beetroot and other vegetables, the Mirror reported.

Won’t have to serve in the military

It is customary for members of the Royal Family to serve in the military, but this may not be the case for George when he grows up.

Royal author Phil Dampier claimed Wills and Kate are “unlikely to force Prince George into joining the armed forces if he doesn’t want to.”

Brit ex-football ref ‘hacked to death with machete’ in Kenya days after reporting someone tried to poison his dogs

A FORMER football referee was reportedly hacked to death with a machete in Kenya just days after reporting someone tried to poison his dogs.

British man John Middleton, 75, was found with stab wounds in the bath of his home in the southern city of Mombasa.

Before his death, the former football referee reportedly said someone had tried to poison his dogs[/caption]

Mr Middleton, who had previously lived in Norfolk, was set to go golfing on Saturday morning but didn’t show up, his club captain, Dinesh Sasan said.

The ex footie ref had also said someone tried to poison his dogs in the days leading up to his death, Mr Sasan told the BBC.

The machete used in the attack was reportedly left behind and nothing was stolen from the property, local media reports.

Jamleck Mbuba, the deputy county commissioner for the Kisauni constituency, said “a slight struggle” seemed to have occurred.

But he told NTV Kenya: “The scene was not very disturbed.”

The Brit’s housekeeper was said to have raised the alarm after he did not answer his doorbell on Saturday morning.

Described by his friends in Kenya as “a wonderful guy”, Mr Middleton was a keen golfer who played at the nearby Nyali Golf and Country Club.

Mr Sasan, who had known the former ref since 2015, said: “I used to be with him three or four times a week. We were all sitting together on Friday evening.

“He was very polite, he would stick to his principles and was very helpful. I am totally shocked. It is beyond belief.”

The club captain added that the British High Commission was now involved and that a post-mortem was due to be carried out.

Kelvin Gitau, John’s stepson from his second marriage, paid tribute to Mr Middleton on social media.

He wrote: “Words can’t even explain my emotions right now.

“Before he emigrated to Kenya, he was a well-known member of the North Norfolk community. But more importantly, he’s been an incredible father to me since I was three years old.

“My heart is truly broken beyond belief at how cruelly John has been taken from our lives and I’m still trying to process it all.

“John was a larger-than-life character, loved by his family, friends and will truly be missed by all who knew him.”

Mr Middleton’s death follows the murder of his wife Regina six years ago.

She was tragically killed during a break-in in 2018 at her home some 12 miles north of Utange.

Mr Sasan went on to say that Mr Middleton’s residence in the Utange district was not in a popular area for expatriates.

“Unfortunately the area he was in was not a very secure one” he explained.

Mr Middleton, a retired Anglian Water engineer, relocated to Kenya in 2014 to live with his wife Regina and their stepson Max.

He had been a referee in Norfolk, a member of Cromer Golf Club, and had lived on Hooks Hills Road in Sheringham.

The Norfolk FA said it was “saddened” to hear of his death and said in a statement: “John officiated for many years in the county and was a committed and well-liked match official.

“The thoughts of all at Norfolk FA are with John’s family and friends at this sad time.”

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it was “supporting the family of a British man who has died in Kenya and are in contact with the local authorities”.

MONEYGRAM customers have been urged to check their bank statements after the financial giant was hit by a data breach.

Last month, hackers reportedly accessed information from Social Security numbers to bank accounts.

The hack attack happened between September 20 and 22, a company told USA Today.

Chiefs at the money transfer company have issued a series of instructions to customers.

A spokesperson revealed that the company had drafted a team of cybersecurity experts to investigate the attack.

They also urged customers to check bank statements.

Company bosses are offering extra security measures to their customers.

“We have arranged to offer affected U.S. consumers identity protection and credit monitoring services for two years at no cost to you,” they said.

MoneyGram bosses apologized for what had materialized.

It wasn’t just Social Security numbers and bank account details hackers could get their hands on.

The company confirmed that government-issued documents such as driving licenses were put at risk.

Scammers were reportedly able to see customers’ statements.

The security scare saw MoneyGram services unavailable for several days.

But chiefs appeared to rule out the service was the victim of a ransomware attack, as reported by Bleeping Computer.

“We have no evidence that this issue involves ransomware, nor do we have any reason to believe that this has impacted our agents’ systems,” they said.

MoneyGram has shared a series of tips designed to protect consumers from fraud.

Bank tips for avoiding scams

As scams become more sophisticated with the use of artificial intelligence, it is important you know how to spot a scam:

  • Be skeptical of online deals that seem too good to be true, especially on social media.
  • Scammers will often use tactics to make you panicked so you make quick decisions – be cautious if you are told to take immediate action and verify who has contacted you.
  • Chase Bank warns customers to “never return any unexpected funds without calling Chase first.”
  • Never send money to someone you have only spoken to online or by phone as this is likely a romance scam.
  • Unless you 100% know who you are talking to, never give someone remote access to your device.
  • Never accept help from strangers at an ATM and always be vigilant when making withdrawals.
  • Do not send money or click any links indicating that you have won a prize.

Americans have been urged to be wary of the messages they receive.

They should not take messages claiming they’ve won a prize at face value.

This is because if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is.

Customers have been urged never to send money to accounts they do not recognize.

“Remember wiring money is like sending cash,” the company warned.

“When you send it, it’s gone – you can’t get it back.”
