Ian Holloway held back by players in furious row with Swindon fan before telling supporters ‘don’t come’ in epic rant

IAN HOLLOWAY had to be held back by his own players during a furious row with Swindon fans.

The straight-talking manager, 61, even told his own supporters “don’t come” in a spectacular rant.

Swindon fans were aggrieved after making the 408-mile, seven-hour round trip to watch their side take on Bradford in League Two.

But Calum Kavanagh’s first-half goal proved the difference between the two teams, leaving Holloway’s men precariously just two points and one place above the relegation zone.

And that sparked the angry reaction after the full-time whistle.

Video footage from Valley Parade showed an animated Holloway gesticulating and shouting at a Robins fan at the front of the away end.

Some of the Swindon players even had to step in, dragging their manager away as he continued his remonstrations.

Holloway then launched into his epic monologue when speaking to the club’s media pitchside.

The former QPR, Blackpool and Crystal Palace boss – who only took over at the County Ground in October – said: “We don’t blame anything, we just got on with it and that’s why I lost my rag with one of our fans blaming everybody again. It’s ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous

“Not going to get out of trouble if you do that, mate, even if you have come a long way.

“Any chance of encouraging us? I saw more than enough there to encourage me.

“Maybe you need to see it with my glasses on. But if you’re upset with it, I’m sorry, don’t come away again if that’s how you feel because I don’t want that.

“I don’t want my team having that when I felt they tried as hard as they possibly could. Yep, I could guide them and get them to do different things.

“But I’m looking right at you – you weren’t very happy, you didn’t make me very happy because you’re not helping in my opinion.

“And anybody else who was around him, am I going to give you a cherry for coming all the way up here? No, that’s your choice.

“It’s my choice to be here and I want people who are actually going to cheer us on no matter what provided they give me that sort of effort.

“It’s a big, big difference from what you’re moaning about in my opinion and if that fella wants to come in, sit down and have a cup of coffee at the training ground, please do.

“But I think you’re wrong. It’s how I feel. Can’t help having passion can you?”

‘SHOULD BE SACKED’

Fans on social media were mixed in their reaction to Holloway’s outburst.

One said: “Deary me what an interview… If fans are choosing to travel silly distances to support their club, they should have the right to voice their opinion.

“You have to take it on board. Fans are the heartbeat of a club. Shocking.”

Another added: “He is wrong, he should be sacked. A club is nothing without the fans.”

But a third wrote: “Completely disagree. Ian Holloway is right.

And a final user replied: “Flipping brilliant interview if you ask me? Do you want stupid, scripted, rinse and repeat interviews? Or do you wanna hear how blokes really feel? More this please, from ALL players and ALL managers.”

Fire Stick users uncover surprise charges that may be costing you hundreds per year – but simple trick can prevent them

AMAZON Fire Stick users have had their bank accounts bruised by surprise charges from subscription services.

Giving guests free reign of your TV might just be being a good host, but it can result in some unexpected purchases – as several Fire Stick owners have found out.

Going unnoticed, these unexpected subscriptions could cost you up to £180/$180 over the course of a year[/caption]

One user, in a post on Reddit, explained that they started seeing mysterious charges to their Amazon account after having their wife’s sister and her husband move into their basement flat.

The Redditor told guests they shouldn’t watch anything that required a subscription.

They added: “Last month I found an unexpected charge for Kids+, which Amazon agreed to reverse, but then it showed up again and I realised they had subscribed.

“They swear they didn’t, so I chalked it up to Amazon error.

“But in the past four days I found two more subscriptions added to my account, and this time checking their viewing history I know for sure they did indeed watch shows that required Starz and Acorn TV subscriptions.”

Subscriptions for Kids+, Starzplay and Acorn TV each cost £4.99/$4.99 per month – and add up to about £15/$15 per month.

Going unnoticed, these unexpected subscriptions could cost you up to £180/$180 over the course of a year.

“I wouldn’t have realised except when they subbed to Acorn last night,” the Reddit poster warned. “It sent me an email about my free trial starting up.”

They added: “I went down this morning and locked them [with a PIN] again.”

Another user, in a separate Reddit post, added that they too have had to cancel subscriptions they were accidentally signed up for.

“I’ve had to unsubscribe from so many Amazon channels that were automatically subscribed to when my dad clicked on something from one of those channels,” they wrote.

“They auto renew each moth and [I] didn’t realise they were billing me for multiple channels for almost a year.”

PIN IT DOWN

Amazon has a PIN feature that allows Fire Stick owners to put purchasing luxuries behind a passcode.

However, the feature has been likened to “using a sledgehammer on a thumbtack” for its blanket application.

That being said, it is the only option for UK users who want to protect their bank account from trigger-happy guests.

TEEN ACCOUNTS

In the US, Fire Stick users have the option to create a Teen account for guests or younger users.

With a Teen account, the Fire Stick owner receives a text or notification every time a purchase attempt is made – and has the option to approve or deny the action.

While the feature is intended for teenagers, it can also be helpful when it comes to guests or elderly family.

Teen accounts are unfortunately not yet available in the UK – and it’s unclear if Amazon plans to roll them out any time soon.

Moment Ukrainian aircraft-style drone smashes into Putin warlord Kadyrov’s special ops base sparking fireball explosion

THIS is the unbelievable moment a Ukrainian aircraft-style drone smashes into Putin’s puppet Kadyrov’s special operations base.

The site, in the Russian city of Grozny, Chechnya – erupted into a gargantuan fireball in yet another devastating blow to mad Vlad.

Several drones reportedly struck the special forces facilities, as well as a base where troops are sent directly from to fight in the illegal war against Ukraine.

Ukraine’s targeted attack appeared to hit the base of a special operations unit, renowned to be a key base for the Russian dictator’s warlord Kadyrov who has sent tens of thousands of troops to the war.

Shooting was heard in attempts to down the pilotless plane loaded with explosives, but there appeared a lack of air defences against the slow-moving incoming drones.

It is the third strike on the city in 11 days.

The extent of damage and any toll was not immediately known.

Ukraine’s military have been consistently adapting and improving their aircraft and weaponry since Vlad launched his barbaric full-scale invasion in 2022.

The use of the WW2-style planes to hunt down Russian drones on the battlefield continue to serve a blow to Putin’s increasingly desperate war effort.

Air Marshal Bagwell, who served for 36 years in the RAF, said the fact that Ukraine is using a relatively slow propeller-driven plane to take out Putin’s 21st century drone is “embarrassing” for Vlad.

The former combat pilot, who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria, told The Sun: “There should be some serious questions here for Russia.

“To have your highly sophisticated 21st century drone shot down by a 1970s prop aeroplane designed for training by somebody with a machine gun out the back – that’s embarrassing.

“This will be sending ripples of concern back into Russia.”

It came soon after Vladimir Putin, 72,  had awarded Kadyrov, 48, a ‘For Services to the Fatherland’ honour in an unannounced but secretly-filmed Kremlin ceremony when other top officials loyal to the dictator also received gongs.

Kadyrov – who holds the rank of colonel-general in the Russian national guard – had demanded better air defence protection for his capital.

Kadyrov has been widely sanctioned by the West for human rights abuses as well as his support to Putin over the war.

He previously threatened to place Ukrainian prisoners of war on rooftops of strategic buildings to discourage attacks by Volodymyr Zelensky’s forces.

A new investigation by Proekt independent media found that Kadyrov has tripled the size of what amounts to his own private army.

No less than nine new paramilitary units have been established since the start of the war.

No other regional leader in Russia is allowed to maintain their own private army.
