But the temporary hours switch-up will not be coming into force for several weeks yet.
Nearly all Walgreens stores will be closed on Thanksgiving (stock)[/caption]
Hundreds of drugstores will be closing for the day on Thanksgiving, the company said in a statement.
It will be the second Thanksgiving in a row that Walgreens bosses have decided to close most pharmacies.
Tracey D. Brown, the president of the drugstore chain, has explained the decision behind the closures.
“This is just one of the ways we’re acknowledging the dedication of our store team members, pharmacists, and pharmacy techs who tirelessly deliver incredible service and patient care every single day,” she said.
Brown said staffers will be able to take a “well-deserved” break.
Chiefs have confirmed 500 Walgreens 24-hour stores and 300 pharmacies across the nation will remain open.
Walgreens locations will be open normally on Wednesday, November 27, and Friday, November 29.
The chain’s stores are also open on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Walgreens is not the only chain that is closing stores for the fall holiday.
Workers at thousands of Walmart stores across the nation will be able to enjoy the holiday with their families.

LARA Eastwood and her fiancé Daniel Turner were overjoyed when they discovered they were expecting twins.
But the couple’s world came crashing down at their eight-week scan when they were told they had lost one of their babies.
Lara Eastwood discovered one of her ‘twins’ was actually a tissue that can develop into cancer[/caption]
A 3D scan of Lara’s baby, who is yet to be born[/caption]
In a further cruel twist one month later, Lara, 36, and Daniel 43, were delivered the devastating news that the dead foetus hadn’t dissolved.
Lara was told she should terminate but her nurse’s intuition kicked in and she fought for a second opinion.
She was then diagnosed with a partial molar pregnancy with a co-existing twin – where the egg is fertilised by two sperm which results in three sets of chromosomes instead of the usual two.
Her doctor told her there are just 44 cases in the world.
Lara decided to continue with her pregnancy – despite the risk that the lump of tissue from the dead placenta can develop into cancer, putting her and her unborn child at risk.
Now, 36 weeks along, Lara won’t know if one or both of them is impacted until the birth.
Lara, a nurse from Nottingham, said: “If I hadn’t been medical and hadn’t looked after patients with molar pregnancies then I think I would have made the decision to terminate.
“It was only because of my stubbornness and my instinct.
“Hopefully I’ll get a healthy baby and it will all be worth it.”
Lara and Daniel, a physiotherapist, were excited when they found out they were expecting twins in February 2024 – after suffering three losses.
Lara started to experience bleeding and pain but her scans continued to look fine and showed two heartbeats.
The couple – who have a son Oliver, three – went for their eight-week scan just after Easter and were told one of their twins had passed away.
“I was grieving the one that was gone,” Lara said.
“I didn’t want to eat. But I was very conscious that you can’t not eat because you’ve got another one.
“It was such a conflict of emotions.”
It was my decision to carry on and put myself and the baby at risk
Lara Eastwood
At 12 weeks, Lara went for another scan ready to try to put the loss behind her and focus on growing her remaining baby.
“I went into the room and knew something was wrong straight away,” she said.
“I heard the word molar thrown around.
“The dead one was still there – it hadn’t been dissolved. I knew what that potentially meant.”
Lara was aware of molar pregnancies from her experience as a nurse.
She was given three options – to terminate the very next day, medically terminate in a week, or “bury her head in the sand”.
Lara wanted a second opinion as she didn’t want to give up, having now experienced four losses.

The next week she had a call from the doctor who told her it was a twin molar pregnancy.
“I said, ‘It can’t be – mine had a heartbeat’,” she said.
“In molar pregnancies, it just looks like a cell. It looks like a mass of tissue. And mine looked like a baby.”
Lara pushed back explaining that she had heard a heartbeat on four scans – which she said wouldn’t have been possible if it was a molar pregnancy.
She was referred to a specialist, who thought it could be a partial molar pregnancy with a co-existing twin – which forms a triploidy with 69 chromosomes.
Lara said: “My doctor found 44 case reports of this in the world. It’s beyond rare.”
Lara had a CVS – where a needle is inserted into the placenta to remove tissue – in May 2024 which confirmed her diagnosis.
Due to the procedure, she had a one in 50 chance of losing her living baby – including in the two weeks following it.
‘I FEEL TOTALLY ROBBED’
“I can’t tell you how I even functioned,” she said.
“It just felt that wherever I went, it was more s*** news.
“Now we know it is a partial molar, it can develop into cancer.”
Usually the placenta would be removed and sent off for testing. But as Lara was still carrying a live baby, her case was more complicated.
She said: “I have got endometriosis. In five pregnancies, I have lost four babies.
“I asked, ‘Is there a chance I can continue?’ – and he said yes.
“It was my decision to carry on and put myself at risk.
“I can live with myself if this baby doesn’t make it. I’ve given it the best possible chance to get here.”
What is a molar pregnancy?
A MOLAR pregnancy is a rare complication that happens by chance.
It is when there is a problem with a fertilised egg, which means a baby and a placenta do not develop in the way they should after conception.
Molar pregnancies may seem regular at first, but they cannot develop into a healthy baby.
They can be complete, when a sperm fertilises an empty egg that contains no genes from the woman and no parts of the baby form.
Or they can be partial, when two sperm fertilise the egg at the same time, so there is one set of female chromosomes and two sets of male chromosomes, and there may be some tissue that looks like a foetus.
Despite early signs of a baby, it cannot fully develop or survive.
In rare cases, a twin pregnancy will show a normal developing baby and a molar pregnancy at the same time.
For many women, it is possible for the pregnancy to continue. But if you have complications, it may not be able to. Speak to your doctor.

Lara has been monitored closely and is now nearly at 36 weeks, but she still hasn’t bought anything for the baby.
“We won’t know if this baby is going to have anything wrong with it until I deliver,” she said.
“It’s been the most horrendous pregnancy. I feel totally robbed.”
Lara may be able to deliver naturally as her baby is at the bottom and has moved the dead placenta to the side, but a decision on whether she will have a C-section has not yet been made.
After giving birth, the placentas will be sent off to a specialist centre to be tested.
Lara will also be monitored with urine and blood checks to see if she has any signs of cancer.
If there is, she would then need chemotherapy for four to six months.
This type of cancer is very treatable and most women survive, but like any form of the disease, it carries life-changing risks.
“It’s just a scary thing,” Lara said. “If the tissue is gone then my body has dissolved it.”
Lara hopes to raise awareness of the rare pregnancy so others can understand it.
She also wants to support others going through pregnancy loss and has started the organisation Roaring Rainbows.

A FORMER World Grand Prix champion is aiming for a second success despite coming close to packing it all in last year.
Jonny Clayton, who won the tournament in 2021, booked his spot in Wednesday’s last 16 clashes with a win over Ritchie Edhouse on Monday.
Clayton, 50, seems to be in fine form in Leicester for the tournament, but it hasn’t been an easy journey to get back to the oche after a tough year in 2023.
‘The Ferret’ opened up on what has been a difficult 12 months after he lost his father, so much so that he almost walked away from darts altogether.
Speaking after his win over Edhouse, he said: “I enjoyed it up there tonight.
“My darts are going good, so hopefully, they can keep going well for the rest of the week.
“For the last year I’ve not been bothered at all, but there’s a bit of fire in the belly again, I’m hungry.
“I’m a dart player so I want to be the best in my sport.
“But you know, I have to be honest, in the last year it could have been packing up time.
“But listen, I’m back enjoying it, I got a smile on my face and I don’t like losing. So that’s a good thing for ‘The Ferret.”

Clayton’s revitalised attitude towards darts could help him succeed at the oche this week as he battles it out for the £120,000 grand prize for Sunday’s champion.
The Welshman will take on Ross Smith on Wednesday with an eye on a place in the quarter-finals – something that would pocket him a minimum of £25,000 in prize money.
2 weeks agoUSA UpdateComments Off on UK weather: Brits brace for thunderstorms and heavy rain ahead of frosty nights and SNOW in parts as temperatures plunge
FRESH weather warnings for thunderstorms have been issued as Storm Kirk just misses the UK – but brings with it frost and snow to parts of the country.
Brits are bracing themselves for the coming cold air and downpours as the ex-hurricane passes just south of the country.
Travel might be disrupted along with flooding risks[/caption]
In some areas there may even be hailstorms[/caption]
There are plenty of heavy showers across the UK, especially sweeping through the south east of England.
Northern Scotland appears to be avoiding the rainfall but may be subjected to strong winds and a bitter chill setting in shortly.
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms in the south east until 10pm today.
Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin said over the next couple of days “colder air is coming.”
Deakin said: We’ve got the northerly winds setting in here – a sign of things to come.”
Temperatures just remain in the double digits despite the downpours, around 11 or 12C, whilst areas in southern England are even getting into the high teens.
Those down south are facing intermittent sunshine, bumping the temperature up to 19 degrees.
It looks like there will be patches of heavy rain and strong winds that may even threaten hail and thunderstorms spreading from the southwest.
It looks like this will develop over land, during the morning, lasting through the afternoon and into the evening.
Some areas will remain unaffected but others might face 20-30 mm of rain within 2-3 hours – some even 40-50 mm over a longer period.
Many of these areas have been given a yellow weather warning which means there could be disruption to travel.
This means vehicles could be affected by spray, flooding or hail which could lead to longer and more dangerous journeys.
Public transport might be delayed and buildings may be subject to damage from lightening strikes.
Deakin added: “As yo you go through to this evening the however, if anything, are becoming more widespread.
“So again, some very heavy downpours around – not a great evening rush hour at all.”

Hail and lightning will be additional hazards, with a risk of temporary hail accumulations in places.
In addition, heavy showers and thunderstorms will be associated with strong and gusty winds in the south of the warning area at times with 40mph gusts possible.
As the cold weather kicks in on Thursday, Scotland will be the first to get a winter experience with freezing temperature on the way and maybe even snow.
Facing an arctic blast towards the end of the week, Scotland could get a layer of snow on it’s highest mountains.
Temperatures of will stay above 10C during the daytime but there will be frosty spells throughout the night time especially in the northern territories.
Hurricane Kirk is losing it’s tropical energy and has been named storm Kirk by the French weather service as it travels through Europe.
It’s current path suggests it will miss the UK but could cause trouble in other regions.
Deakin said: “It’s really the central southern parts of France that will bear the brunt but also the north of Spain too.
“There are potential for some damaging gusts of winds across parts of France.”
In its long-range forecast over the following week the Met Office said there will be a period of “unsettled” weather with “frequent bouts of wind and rain associated with areas of low pressure.”

2 weeks agoUSA UpdateComments Off on I couldn’t believe I found an $8 luxury designer bag at Goodwill – it’s ‘crocodile’ and sells for $45,000
A THRIFTY fashionista was left stunned after discovering that her $8 second-hand bargain was actually a designer bag that sells for an eye-watering $45,000.
If you’re a cash-savvy shopper like us, you will know that charity shops are home to hundreds of hidden gems, the real value of can sometimes be thousands of dollars.
One Goodwill shopper reckons she may have found the ultimate hidden gem[/caption]
The young woman purchased the bag for less than $10[/caption]
This is exactly what happened to one money-smart style lover, Angie White, who hit the ultimate jackpot whilst checking out the latest additions to the aisles at Goodwill.
Taking to TikTok, the brunette beauty explained that she had never had much luck with bagging designer gear on the cheap – up until now.
The lucky find, which cost her just $7.99, was a caramel-toned handbag made of ”crocodile” skin and featuring two sturdy handles.
After inspecting the purchase properly, Angie (@theangiewhite) immediately realised that the stunning accessory was worth over a whopping 5,600 times more.
”Can you tell yet? Oh my God, oh my God,” Angie said as she was zooming into the purse-friendly wardrobe must-have.
”Guys, did I find a Birkin bag?” she couldn’t believe her luck in the video.
Although the bag was a little bit ”scuffy”, the thrifting lover couldn’t get over the ”beautiful” stitching.
”How do I know if it’s real/ Like, what am I looking for? Like, is there a serial number or some identifying marks?”
The lucky fashionista added that she was considering heading to a Birkin store in Orlando to confirm the authenticity of the purchase.
”I’ve found vintage purses before – I am familiar. But other than knowing what a Birkin bag is, I didn’t really think I would ever touch one.”
Unfortunately for the young woman – who said she’d use the money by the bag to fund her movie – many eagle-eyed social media users reckon it was a fake.
One pointed out to some inconsistencies, writing: ”On one site it says that interior zipper pull will not hang down.
”It should be level with the zipper. Also there is an H at the end of the zipper. Er-mez.”
Another chimed in with their verdict, commenting: ”If it’s real there is a square pieces of leather with the serial number somewhere near the top. Most likely counterfeit.”
”Regardless if it’s authentic or not, it’s still a GREATTT FIND,” a third penned.
”The hardware would have actual screws, not fake ones. Same thing happened to me,” a fellow fashion lover said.
”Inside looks too cheap,” someone else added.
After taking the internet by storm, Angie shared her final thoughts on the $8 accessory.
”I am not 100%, but I am pretty sure it is not authentic. It has a couple of things that are not right if it is real.
”Mainly the internal zipper does not lay down correctly. A great dupe though!”
