KEELY HODGKINSON is favourite to win the 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

That’s according to bookmakers William Hill, who’ve revealed their latest betting odds following the announcement of the six-strong shortlist.

The 71st BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 17 December live from MediaCityUK in Salford.

And the six nominees include Jude Bellingham, Luke Littler, Joe Root, Sarah Storey, Alex Yee and Keely Hodgkinson.

England goalkeeper Mary Earps won the award in 2023, but there will be a new name on the trophy this year with Hodgkinson the leading contender.

Hodgkinson, 22, triumphed at the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning gold in the 800m in the Stade de France.

It was Team GB’s first Olympic track title since Mo Farah’s 5,000m and 10,000m double in Rio in 2016, and capped off a sensational season in which she also retained her 800m title at the European Championships.

She could become the fourth woman in a row to claim the SPOTY award following Emma Raducanu in 2021 and Lionesses Beth Mead and Mary Earps in 2022 and 2023.

Teenage sensation Luke Littler is next in the betting markets at 12/5.

Littler, 17, has a chance of becoming the youngest winner of the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year award for more than 60 years.

He reached the PDC World Championship final last January at the age of 16, and has since claimed 10 trophies including the Premier League Darts and the prestigious Grand Slam of Darts.

There’s a huge jump to next contender with Triathlete Alex Yee available at 33/1.

The 26-year-old was crowned both Olympic and world champion, and was also part of the Great Britain team that won bronze in the mixed relay.

Cricketer Joe Root, Paralympian Sarah Storey and England footballer Jude Bellingham complete the list, all offered at 100/1.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Keely Hodgkinson left her rivals trailing in her wake in Paris this summer and she has certainly done that in our BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award market, as the clear 1/3 favourite following confirmation of the final six nominees.

“Luke Littler, who has risen astronomically up the darts rankings, appears Hodgkinson’s only real challenger in the market at 12/5 and it could well be between the two, with Alex Yee, Joe Root, Sarah Storey and Jude Bellingham all available at much bigger odds.”

LUKE LITTLER turned into a master troll once again after Manchester United won the derby.

The Red Devils produced a late comeback to win 2-1 at the Etihad, with goals in the 88th and 90th minute.

A delighted Littler, who earlier in the day played darts with fans at Ally Pally, took to social media to celebrate his team’s win.

He reposted a full-time graphic shared by United, whose caption read: “Manchester.Is.Red.”

Littler echoed the sentiment, writing: “Manchester has always been red, get in you Reds.”

The teen loves to troll rival fans and has taken pops at City and Liverpool in the past.

In April Littler mocked the Reds after their Premier League title and Europa League hopes were dashed in the same week.

The 17-year-old reposted a video on his Instagram story which showed three WWE fighters.

Two of the wrestlers had Atalanta and Crystal Palace badges superimposed on them while the other had a Liverpool badge.

The duo then took down the single wrestler with some brutal blows, with the caption reading: “Liverpool this week .”

The world number four has even trolled himself in the past, after a wayward shot in Premier League Darts.

An attempt at double top landed way above the target, leading Littler to turn to the crowd while putting a hand above his eyes to make a searching gesture.

YELLOWSTONE has come to an end with the much-anticipated season 5 finale.

The series has dominated screens since it debuted in 2018, with the final episode bringing closure to the Dutton family saga – for now.

The final episode wrapped up numerous story lines, but there were still twists and farewells that left fans scratching their heads.

What is the plot of Yellowstone?

Yellowstone is an American Western drama TV series that premiered in 2018.

It follows the conflicts along the shared borders of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, a large cattle ranch, the Broken Rock Indian reservation, Yellowstone National Park as well as land developers.

The series surrounds the Dutton family, who own the largest ranch in Montana – the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, otherwise called the Yellowstone.

The Paramount Network series stars the likes of Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly and Wes Bentley, to name a few.

What happened in the finale of Yellowstone?

The character of Kayce Dutton made the huge decision that altered the future of the Yellowstone ranch.

He sold the property back to its rightful owners, the Broken Rock Indians, for the price his ancestors paid.

This was back in 1883, for just $1.25 an acre.

Therefore the iconic ranch was handed over for a mere $1.1 million, which is an unbelievable sum for the largest ranch in the state.

Meanwhile Beth Dutton dealt with her brother Jamie in a move that shocked fans.

Jamie became the final person to be left at the infamous train station – Yellowstone’s burial ground for those who dare cross the Duttons.

Beth and her husband Rip Wheeler then began a new chapter together by purchasing a new ranch for themselves.

Kayce, Monica and their son Tate kept ownership of the East Camp portion of Yellowstone, but the rest of the land was returned to the Broken Rock reservation.

Will Yellowstone have a season 6?

Sadly, the Paramount Network said in 2023 that Yellowstone would not continue after season 5.

But fans won’t have to wave goodbye to their favorite characters just yet.

Paramount anticipated fans wanting more Yellowstone and have greenlighted a spin-off series featuring Rip and Beth.

The couple’s purchase of the ranch allows for a future of the drama, with fans eagerly waiting to see what the pair do next.

Spin-off’s of the show have already proved to be very successful, like 1883 and 1923 that held audiences with their incredible storytelling.
