But he has already endeared himself to the United faithful with a new style and high hopes for the future.

Results are yet to go Amorim’s way, with the gaffer already losing five of his 10 games at the helm.

Yet that hasn’t stopped fans from cheering him on from the stands ahead of tonight’s crunch clash with Newcastle.

And some have even showed their support for the Portuguese boss at United’s Carrington training base.

One youngster decided to give Amorim a boost by waiting outside the ground all day.

The kid even created a custom card welcoming the tactician to the club.

And his day was made when Amorim stopped to say hi after a tough day of training.

The manager appeared delighted when he was given the gift.

But the young fan’s wildest dreams came true when United’s boss made a classy gesture.

Incredibly, Amorim opened the passenger door to his Porsche Taycan sports car before offering the supporter a tour of Carrington.

The kid hopped in before they went whizzing off together back into the training ground.

Amorim sped around Carrington to give the fan his once-in-a-lifetime tour.

And afterwards he dropped the youngster back off at the entrance before making his way home.

Other fans were quick to praise Amorim’s amazing gesture.

One said: “Ruben is a class act.”

Another declared: “What a classy gesture.”

One noted: “Lovely Amorim, you have my respect.”

Another added: “I want him to succeed so bad.”

My UK city is the best place in the world to celebrate New Year’s Eve, here’s why everyone should visit at least once

SCOTLAND’S capital has one of the biggest New Year – or Hogmanay as the Scots call it – celebrations in the world.

The official Hogmanay festival dates to 1993, but we Scots use any excuse for a party and so it was more of an informal do before then.

The celebrations have been highlighted as one of the ‘top 100 things to do before you die’ and it’s the only festival to have appeared in the Discovery Channel’s ‘top 25 world travel experiences.’

And it’s worth the hype! With a massive, world-famous street party, big name concerts and showstopping fireworks, you can see why thousands of people flock to the city each year.

And that’s just New Year’s Eve itself, there are four days of incredible events which include some free to join with live music and even family parties throughout the city centre.

This year, Scottish superstars, Texas will headline at the Concert in the Gardens on 31 December for the first time in almost 20 years.

Having recently just played two sold-out shows at the Hydro in Glasgow, the group have sold more than 40 million records worldwide and performed at the famous concert twice before.

Going to the street party was a rite of passage for me and my friends as teenagers.

Growing up in the city, I’m old enough to have been there when tickets were free.

I remember hearing Texas play back in 2005 along with KT Turnstall. They also headlined in 1999 along with the Bay City Rollers, The Mavericks and Del Amitri.

Tickets for the Concert in the Gardens now start at £72.50 and street party tickets start at £23.50 which is a special residents’ rate. Up until 2004, street party tickets didn’t cost a penny then they bumped up the price to £2.50 each.

Even if you don’t venture out on Hogmanay itself, the city is the most fun and magical throughout the whole of December.

The New Year activities are part of Edinburgh’s Winter Festival, which runs for six weeks from the 15 Nov 2024 to 4 Jan 2025.

The traditional German Christmas markets are always bustling and full of unique crafts and delicious food and there are funfair rides, ice skating and even the Polar Ice Bar this year.

If you’re anywhere near the city in December, you’ll struggle to avoid the fun.

I’ve lived in Edinburgh for 30 something years now and there hasn’t been a year where I haven’t been involved in at least one of the activities.

This year, my friends and I are already planning a trip to the markets to grab some mulled wine and sweet treats before making fools of ourselves on the ice rink on George Street.

We’ve also booked a slot at the Polar Ice Bar and my kids love the funfair.

For families, there is a special ‘Bairn’s’ New Year party that lets little ones have the chance to join the celebrations with a huge family ceilidh, live music and dancing on New Year’s Eve at 2pm at the Assembly Rooms on George Street.

And on New Year’s Day, join acclaimed folk singer and songwriter, Karine Polwart and 200 community singers for Come Away In – an atmospheric First Footin’ event at St. Giles’ Cathedral.

This free non-ticketed event is on from 2pm until 5.40pm and takes inspiration from the Scottish traditional of First Footin’ – which is opening your door to friends and strangers on the first day of the new year.

It’s the perfect free event to get involved with for visitors to Scotland.

But if you want to go all out and bring in 2025 with a bang, you’ll love the street party or Concert in the Gardens.

With so many people all out to have a good time, you’ll be sure to make friends for life with a kiss and cuddle at the bells while you watch the spectacular fireworks over Scotland’s most iconic castle.

The first and last places around the world to ring in the New Year, every year

Kiritimati Island – also known as Christmas Island – and a string of 10 other mostly uninhabited islands in the central Pacific Ocean will be the first to ring in 2024.

TongaNew Zealand and Samoa all celebrate the New Year, before Eastern Australia and then Central Australia.

The last places to see 2025 in will be two uninhabited islands named Baker Island and Howland Island, southwest of Hawaii.

The USA is one of the last countries to celebrate the arrival of the New Year, with New York and Washington D.C. having to wait until 5am GMT to ring in 2025.

JUSTIN Baldoni’s lawyer has vowed the actor’s lawsuit against It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively will “expose the truth”.

Justin’s attorney insisted the contents of the filing will ‘shock everyone’[/caption]

Justin, who previously starred in 2018 movie Con Man and TV series Jane The Virgin, denied all the allegations – stating they were “serious and categorically false.”

Justin’s attorney Bryan Freedman insisted the contents of the filing will “shock everyone”.

“I am not going to speak to when or how many lawsuits we are filing but when we file our first lawsuit, it is going to shock everyone who has been manipulated into believing a demonstrably false narrative,” Freedman on Saturday told Deadline.

Justin’s lawyer said that details of the countersuit “will be supported by real evidence and tell the true story”.

‘In over 30 years of practicing, I have never seen this level of unethical behavior intentionally fueled through media manipulation,’ Bryan told the publication.

“It reminds me of what NBC tried to do to Megyn Kelly and Gabrielle Union and we all know how that ended up. Standby.”

While Bryan also told People Sunday that the countersuit will shed light on ‘those who believe themselves untouchable.’

Freedman told People Sunday that the countersuit will shed light on ‘those who believe themselves untouchable.’

He said: “This lawsuit will uncover and expose the false and destructive narrative that was intentionally engineered by a trusted media publication who relied upon nefarious sources and neglected a thorough fact checking process to confirm the validity of these texts.’

BOMBSHELL LAWSUIT

Hollywood stars Blake and Justin appeared in the adaptation of the best-selling Colleen Hoover novel, It Ends With Us in August.

Yet the film’s release was marred by a string of alleged bust-ups on set.

Justin, who is married to wife Emily Baldoni, has now been accused of showing Blake naked videos and images of other women as well as making references about his alleged previous porn addiction in the bombshell lawsuit, according to documents seen by TMZ.

The documents claim film executives had to arrange an all-hands meeting, attended by Deadpool star Ryan, 40, after Blake told bosses of her concerns.

The actress is said to have demanded ‘Conman’ star Justin to stop showing her naked photos of women, talking about his sex life, discussing cast members’ genitalia and asking about his co-star’s weight.

She also claims to have asked for “no more adding of sex scenes, oral sex or on camera climaxing outside the scope of the script approved when signing onto the project.”

Distributor Sony Pictures approved The Age of Adaline star’s requests but the lawsuit says Justin used “social manipulation” to destroy her reputation after she aired her fears.

Justin’s lawyer Bryan Freedman has branded the lawsuit “shameful” and claimed it was “false, outrageous and intentionally salacious, with an intent to publicly hurt”.

He claimed Blake launched legal action to “fix her negative reputation” after reports that she was “diva-like” on set.

HOOVER SUPPORT

Colleen Hoover – author of the book on which the movie is based – has also spoken out amid the sexual harassment allegations.

The American appeared to support Blake in an online post that also included a link to the star’s claims.

Novelist Colleen said Blake had been “nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met.”

She added: “Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.”

Sanders, 22, is already predicting which team he will be joining with his custom cleats.

He claimed he knew where he would be off to, as he hinted in the media.

He said: “We know where we are going…You’ll see them in the cleats later on this week.”

Sanders has since revealed his footwear in the colors of the New York Giants.

He posted a picture of his red and blue cleats, which also had “NY” embroidered on the heel.

The Giants are expected to move for a quarterback after moving on from Daniel Jones after he was released.

The team went into gameweek 17 with the benefit of having the first pick in the draft.

However, after beating the Indianapolis Colts 45-33 on Sunday, they have now lost that privilege.

The victory has now vaulted the New England Patriots to the top spot of the draft.

The Patriots have the lowest strength of schedule and are tied for the worst record in the league.

The 2025 NFL draft has been simulated

It is not likely that they would go for Sanders, as star Drake Maye is seen as one for the future.

Sanders would also have other takers should the Giants miss out.

The Tennessee Titans are also in the picture, with Will Levis struggling

The Carolina Panthers still have question marks over the future of Bryce Young.

The Las Vegas Raiders as are also a main player in the race as they are desperate to replace Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew.

Inside the strong bond between Queen Camilla and lookalike sister who’s become her ‘rock’ during toughest years

OVER time, Queen Camilla, 77, has become a devoted and loved member of the Royal Family – however, right behind her and helping Camilla get through the toughest years was her sister.

Annabel Elliot, who is 18 years her junior, is said to have been Camilla‘s “rock” when she needed it the most.

The pair showed their close bond in behind-the-scenes footage from the King’s Coronation in the BBC1 documentary, Charles III: The Coronation Year.

The programme not only saw the King and Queen at the forefront but also highlighted the sister’s relationship as Annabel, born Sonia Annabel Shand on February 2, 1949, was named as the “Queen’s Companion”.

In one clip, fans of the Royal Family could see Annabel got emotional as she watched her older sister head to Westminster Abbey to be crowned Queen.

“When I thought back to being two years old and watching the Queen’s Coronation on a tiny black and white television and there goes this golden coach with my sister in it,” she said.

“I can’t explain the feeling because it’s so surreal. This cannot be happening. It was quite a moment.”

But although the epic coronation, which took place in May, 2023, looked plain sailing, Annabel still grappled with nerves for her big sister.

“Going into the Abbey, I think I had that nervousness all the time,” she said.

“She’s quite a bit smaller than I am. I’m feeling: ‘Is she going to be all right?”

Spending their childhood years in Sussex, the duo were described as “perfect” and did practically everything together – from going to the same schools to attending the same Pony Club events.

As they became older, Camilla and Annabel were then spotted at the same parties later on in life and both even tied the knot within a year of each other – and welcomed welcomed children at the same time.

Camilla’s first husband was Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles, now 85, but when their marriage broke down in 1994, Camilla and Annabel took time away from the spotlight and jetted off to Venice, Italy, together and enjoyed numerous activities, such as painting.

Both share an artistic streak – one which has since steered Annabel through a successful career as a leading interior designer.

When the time finally came for the then Prince of Wales to appear in public alongside Camilla, the landmark moment was at Annabel’s 50th birthday bash at The Ritz in 1999.

During the years before their 2005 no-present marriage at Windsor, when the two would Christmas apart, Camilla would reside at the Dorset home of Annabel and her husband, Simon.

The two sisters would be ”rocks” to each other following the deaths of their mother Rosalind Shand, in 1994, their father Bruce Shand, in 2006, and, tragically, their younger brother Mark, following a tragic accident in 2014.

What is Queen Camilla's podcast?

QUEEN Camilla launched her podcast in January and it’s already proving to be a big success.

The podcast, which currently has a five-star rating, is dominating Arts and Books categories.

The much-anticipated audio show follows Camilla’s popular The Queen’s Reading Room book club, which she launched during the pandemic.

Queen Camilla doesn’t host the podcast itself, but she does feature in each episode.

During the first episode, King Charles’ wife was asked: “Which book did you most enjoy reading to your grandchildren and did you do different voices for the characters?”

Camilla answered: “I think the one I enjoyed reading more than anything else was Harry Potter.

“I can’t mimic voices for love or money, I’m completely hopeless at it.

“I was a really bad actor at school and I’ve never been able to master the art of mimicry, but my husband, he can do all the voices.”

What viewers may not know is that, all the way through the intense build-up to the ceremony, Annabel was dealing with great personal sadness.

Simon, the much-respected source of wise counsel who became Annabel’s husband in 1972, sadly passed away in March last year after a long illness, aged 82.

This meant that Annabel was arranging the funeral of her dear late husband at the same time she was preparing for the grande occasion at the Abbey.

The devoted sister described Camilla and said: “She’s somebody who is completely loyal” and said she “isn’t somebody who has huge highs and lows.”

Charles III: The Coronation Year can be found on BBC iPlayer.
