Iowa make major Caitlin Clark announcement with WNBA superstar honored after incredible college career

THE IOWA HAWKEYES have announced the decision to honor Caitlin Clark by retiring her jersey.

WNBA star Clark enjoyed an impressive four-year college career in Iowa.

Getty
Caitlin Clark is being honored by having her No.22 jersey retired by Iowa college[/caption]

During her time there, she averaged 28.4 points with 8.2 assists in 139 games.

However, arguably her crowning achievement arrived as she eclipsed Pete Maravich and Kelsey Plum in becoming the leading scorer across both men’s and women’s college basketball.

Clark’s success did not stop once she left college, as she picked up the Rookie of the Year award at Indiana Fever while becoming the fastest rookie to ever put up 100 three-pointers in a single season.

The 22-year-old was also named Time’s Athlete of the Year for 2024.

So it’s perhaps a fitting tribute to her stellar year that Clark is now having her already iconic No.22 jersey retired by her college.

Iowa made the announcement on Wednesday and the ceremony will take place during the team’s matchup with USC Trojans on February 2 – another play of the No.22 number given it is the second month of the year.

In a statement, Clark said: “I’m forever proud to be a Hawkeye and Iowa holds a special place in my heart that is bigger than just basketball.

“It means the world to me to receive this honor and to celebrate it with my family, friends and alumni.”

Reacting to the news on social media, one fan said: “Congrats Caitlin.”

A second said: “Well deserved, Caitlin!”

A third added: “2/2, I see what you did there.”

Another said: “GOAT OF COLLEGE BASKETBALL.”

'A wasted opportunity?'

By Damian Burchardt, Assistant US Sports Editor

CAITLIN Clark’s omission from the Team USA roster can be easily justified from a purely basketball perspective.

The Indiana Fever star had an up-and-down start to the 2024 WNBA season, leading the league in turnovers while shooting under 30% for 3 through the first three weeks of the campaign.

She didn’t outplay the likes of Kelsey Plum, Sabrina Ionescu, and Jewell Loyd to earn the nod.

A little break could actually aid Clark’s transition from college basketball to the pros.

The 6-foot guard hardly had time to rest between Iowa’s run to the March Madness final, the 2024 NBA Draft, and the WNBA season tip-off.

On the other hand, Clark’s absence could be viewed as a wasted opportunity to promote the Olympic women’s basketball team in Paris.

Considering the humongous hype her first week in the W generated, she would definitely boost viewership figures of Team USA’s games.

You have a high IQ & 20/20 vision if you can spot the 5 differences in this tricky brain teaser in just 11 seconds

CHALLENGE your intelligence and test your vision with this tricky brainteaser that only people with a 20/20 vision can solve.

You will be crowned a genius if you crack the puzzle in less than 11 seconds.

Spot the five differences between these two images of a child sleeping in a Christmas-themed bed.
Spot the five differences between the two pictures

Only a few people with great observational skills can solve this challenging brainteaser created by Comfy Beds.

Everyone can see the sleepy kid – but the goal is to spot the five differences between the two pictures.

And you only have 11 seconds to complete the task.

So grab a stopwatch, set the timer and see if you have a perfect 20/20 vision.

But did you know solving such challenges can improve your intelligence?

Optical illusions are visuals designed to trick our minds and can be a simple IQ test.

They test our understanding of reality, depth and perspective as we try to understand what’s in front of us.

Studies have shown that people who regularly challenge themselves with optical illusions and puzzles improve their problem-solving skills, concentration and attention.

How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?

ENGAGING in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.

Optical illusions make a little bit more sense when you learn that our eyes have very little to do with what we see and it is our brains that play the key role in creating images and trying to protect us from the potential threats around us.

Our brain is constantly trying to make sense of the world at the quickest pace it can despite the world being in 3D and the images on our retinas being in 2D.

It can be really difficult for your brain to interpret everything at once so it will often take shortcuts and give you a simplified version of what you see so you can have quicker reaction times if the object you’re looking at looks dangerous.

When you look at an object what you’re really seeing is the light that bounced off of it and entered your eye, which is converted into electrical impulses that your brain then turns into an image.

Our brains can warp straight lines if an object in the middle of them looks like it’s drawing closer as it wants to emphasize the potential threat.

Different colours and light and dark can make the same-sized objects look different or make patterned images look like they’re spinning.

Some benefits include:

  • Cognitive stimulation: These activities challenge the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
  • Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Memory improvement: These challenges often require memory recall and can contribute to better memory function.
  • Creativity: They encourage thinking outside the box, fostering creativity and innovative thought processes.
  • Focus and attention: Working on optical illusions and brainteasers requires concentration, contributing to improved focus.
  • Stress relief: The enjoyable nature of these puzzles can act as a form of relaxation and stress relief.

So before you start with this one, try and see if you can find the cheeky ghost trying to blend in within this party scene in a super quick time.

If you can then you have the watchful eyes of a clever spirit but beware they are very good at keeping secrets.

You can also try and spot all five differences between the two identical pictures.

Or have a go at finding the sausage that definitely shouldn’t be in with the fruit and vegetables.

Coming back to the challenge, were you able to solve it?

If you didn’t see it, look again carefully.

Still no luck?

If you are still scratching your head trying to solve it, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the solution.

If you were able to solve this twisted challenge in less than 111 seconds, you are a genius with a perfect 20/20 vision.

If you found this puzzle too easy, try to find the hidden butterfly in this vintage scene.

Spot the five differences between two images of a child sleeping in a Christmas-themed bedroom.
Were you able to spot all the differences?

Final weeks for Americans to get up to $5k from $1.375m data breach settlement – you only need a receipt to get cash

THOUSANDS of Americans could receive one-time payments of up to $5,000 from a multi-million dollar data breach settlement.

Staffing agency Automation Personnel Services (APS) has agreed to pay almost $1.4 million to settle a class action lawsuit over claims of a 2020 data breach.

Getty
Claimants can cash in on up to $5,000 for out-of-pocket losses[/caption]

According to the lawsuit, APS failed to protect the data it held securely enough from cyberattacks.

The data breach allegedly allowed sensitive information, including Social Security numbers and bank account information, into the hands of cyber attackers.

Anyone whose personal information was potentially compromised in the November 2020 date breach, announced by APS in March 2021, is eligible to file a claim report.

The company has not admitted any wrongdoing but has agreed to pay the $1.375 sum to settle out of court.

Under the terms of the settlement, claimants can receive up to $5,000 each as reimbursement for losses related to the data breach.

This could include bank fees, credit monitoring services and fraudulent charges.

Documentation of out-of-pocket losses, such as receipts, bills or bank statements, will be needed to back up claims.

Class members can also claim for up to four hours of lost time compensation at a rate of $20 per hour.

All members are eligible to receive one year of free credit monitoring from Identity Theft Guard Solutions.

The deadline to file a claim form is December 24, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the settlement will be on February 6, 2025.

Claims are submitted under penalty of perjury, so must only be filed by people who qualify.

False claims also damage other eligible class members.

The class action lawsuit was initially filed by Tereas Madkin, who claimed APS had been negligent by failing to protect its employees and customers’ private information by allowing a data breach to occur.

It was filed in the Circuit Court for Jefferson County, Alabama on July 29, 2021.

APS is a staffing agency with more than 40 locations and 37,000 employees.

It collects and stores sensitive personal information from those trying to find employment through the company.

The lawsuit states: “During the screening and vetting process, APS collects from and maintains sensitive personal identifying information (PII) for each associate and/or applicant.

“The information collected and maintained includes […] social security number, driver’s license number, bank account information, date of birth, email address, cell phone number and home address.”

What's a class-action settlement?

CLASS action lawsuits offer groups of people, or 'classes,' a way to band together in court.

These suits are often brought by one or a few people who allege a company or other entity has wronged a large group of people.

When a suit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar complaints to those who filed the suit.

Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue further legal action by accepting money.

These payout agreements frequently include statements by the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.

Pollution, discrimination, or false advertising are a few examples of what can land a class action on a company’s doorstep.

MORE SETTLEMENT OFFERS

Great Expressions, a network of 246 dental care centers nationwide, was sued for allegedly failing to protect consumer information from a September 2023 data breach.

Great Expressions is settling over allegations that its cybersecurity measures were insufficient, allowing unauthorized access to sensitive consumer information.

The chain has not admitted wrongdoing but agreed to settle the lawsuit to resolve the claims.

The settlement benefits those who received a notification from Great Expressions about the data breach.

It distinguishes between two subclasses based on whether the breach potentially compromised Social Security numbers.

Popular protective equipment and clothing brand Magid Glove are at the heart of the $5,175 million settlement.

They are accused of violating Illinois laws by using “fingerprint time clocks” and taking temperatures with scanners over eight years.

Anyone who used a fingerprint-scanning clock or had their temperature taken by one of the scanners may be eligible.

According to the class action lawsuit, Magid Glove used fingerprint time clocks and temperature scanners without notifying people properly.

It affects those who used either device at Magid’s Romeoville, Illinois, facility between January 8, 2016, up to August 30, 2024.

Meanwhile, streaming giant Tubi – one of the most-watched services on the market – agreed to pay $19.99 million to settle a class action lawsuit.

The privacy suit alleges that Tubi shared users’ personal information with third parties without getting their consent first, violating the Video Privacy Protection Act.

While the streaming company has not admitted any wrongdoing, it has agreed to pay the sum to settle the lawsuit.

And this means thousands of Tubi users now stand a chance to get a share from the million-dollar payout.

Certain Costco shoppers may soon receive refunds as part of a $3.875 million settlement for overcharges.

Additionally, eligible claimants on Cash App could receive up to $2,500 from a $15 million settlement related to a data breach.

‘Son of Concorde’ supersonic jet set for major step after it completes second speed test flight within a week

A US supersonic jet racing to become the next Concorde has reached another major milestone ahead of an even bigger step coming early next year.

Supersonic aircraft XB-1, dubbed the “Son of Concorde”, has successfully completed its tenth test flight.

Tristan “Geppetto” Brandenburg is the aircraft’s chief test pilot[/caption]

It’s a major move that could bring journey times from London to New York City to just 3.5 hours, down from the eight or so hours it currently takes.

The firm behind it, Boom Technology, says the jet hit a new top speed of Mach 0.95 – about 723mph – flying faster than the cruising speed of a Boeing 787 or Airbus A380.

It also hit a new maximum altitude of 32,417 ft during its 46 minute flight from the Mojave Air & Space Port in California.

But the aircraft still has a way to go before it reaches anywhere near Concorde speeds.

Concorde – which ceased flying in 2003 – could dart through the skies at up to 1,350mph, over twice the speed of sound.

“X-B1 is the first independently developed supersonic aircraft,” said chief test pilot Tristan “Geppetto” Brandenburg.

“We’ve developed it on our own and I’m excited to be part of the team that takes it supersonic.”

Boom Technology is hoping to make a major leap early next year with its first supersonic flight.

The firm initially aimed to achieve this by the end of 2024.

Before going supersonic, the company anticipates one or two more test flights.

As part of the 10th trial, experts assessed the aircraft’s handling qualities at Mach 0.9 with the stability augmentation system off.

“XB-1 cleared this requirement, confirming that the pilot can safely control the aircraft at higher speeds even in the unlikely event of a stability augmentation system failure,” Boom said.

“XB-1 is steadily progressing toward breaking the sound barrier in early 2025.

“We anticipate 1-2 additional flights to complete final system checks before XB-1’s supersonic flight.”

The US-made jet faces competition from China, after a rival firm announced its own development had recently reached a speed of 3,106 mph, four times the speed of sound.

Beijing-based Space Transportation – also known as Lingkong Tianxing Technology – is racing to develop the kit for a Yunxing passenger aircraft that could take off as soon as 2027.

Why did the Concorde fail?

CONCORDE was the supersonic passenger jet considered the ultimate luxury in air travel.

Air France and British Airways announced they would be retiring their fleet of Concorde planes on April 10, 2003.

The plane had its first commercial flight on January 21, 1976, so was retired after 27 years of service and 50,000 flights.

Several reasons led to the decision to retire Concorde.

Air France and British Airways cited low passenger numbers and high maintenance costs.

By the early noughties, the planes were outdated and expensive to run, despite being incredibly advanced when they were first introduced almost three decades previously.

The 9/11 terrorist attack in 2001 majorly impacted passenger numbers, as people opted not to fly.

Passenger numbers also fell after an Air France Concorde crashed just minutes after taking off from Paris in July 2000.

The disaster killed all 109 people on board and four others on the ground.

The plane ran over a small piece of metal on the runway, which burst a tyre and caused an engine to ignite.

It was also the only aircraft in the British Airways fleet that required a flight engineer.

Masked rapper Gaboro, 23, shot dead in gruesome livestream execution as Sweden torn apart by bloody gangland violence

A POPULAR Swedish rapper has been gunned down in a parking lot as the killer livestreamed the bloody execution.

The barbaric murder of masked gangster rap star, Gaboro, 23, is the fourth time a musician has been ruthlessly killed in Sweden in recent years as the country faces being torn apart by gangland violence.

Chilling footage shows the moment the assassin gets out of a car and opens fire in the city of Norrköping.

Gaboro appears to have been heading towards a car of his own in the quiet parking lot when he was ruthlessly attacked.

Around six rounds are fired directly at the rapper’s back as he attempts to escape behind the parked motor.

One devastating bullet sends Gaboro falling to the concrete floor as the killer chases after him with the gun still pointed directly at the rapper.

As the assailant approaches a downed Gaboro he can be seen trying to drag his body across the ground as he begs for mercy

The Swedish star laid on his side as he covered his face before pleading with the crazed gunman to let him live.

Moments later, the final two fatal bullets are unleashed – leaving Gaboro lifeless in the parking lot.

The solo gunman – who gleefully filmed the harrowing ordeal – then flees the murder scene.

Despite being just 23 years old Gaboro had already amassed a huge audience of listeners.

His Spotify profile has over 222,000 monthly listeners with his hit song Suavemente having almost 11 million plays.

He released his first track back in 2022 with his debut album coming out a year later.

Footage of Gaboro’s death has already spread across social media with many concerned over the brutality of the murder.

Sweden has already experienced a number of terrifying attacks on gangster rappers in recent years.

In June, award winner C.Gambino was shot dead in an ambush attack.

The masked artist, 26, had parked his car in a garage in Gothenburg when gunmen unleashed a number of bullets – fatally wounding him.

C.Gambino was hailed as one of Sweden’s greatest and most successful artists.

His hit albums, including Sin City and In Memory of Some Stand Up Guys, topped the Swedish music charts.

He won the prestigious Swedish music award Grammis in May for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year.

Fellow rapper, 23-year-old Rozh Shamal, was also killed in a 2019 gangland shooting.

His death came just a few years before musician Einar, 19, was fatally shot at point-blank range.

He was the most-streamed artist on Spotify in Sweden at the time of his execution-style m,urder.

Inside Sweden's crime-riddled underworld

PARTS of Sweden have become riddled with gang activity, plagued by executions, bomb attacks and child soldiers rampaging the streets.

Innocent bystanders have been gunned down in recent years as a country that was once deemed peaceful and safe turned into a twisted gangster’s paradise.

Sweden has grappled with gang violence for decades but its latest surge has been fuelled by notorious druglords dubbed Kurdish Fox and The Greek.

Police are on constant standby ready to prevent brutal murders and explosions.

One gang member told public broadcaster SVT “If my family is in danger, everyone’s family is in danger”.

The country’s leaders even geared up their military to be deployed over the summer over fears of a rampant escalation.

Sweden has even reached its highest level of children prosecuted for murder since 2019.

Much of the violence is concentrated in large cities like Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Uppsala.

Malmö has even been dubbed one of the worst cities in Northern Europe for gang crime by a tourism review.

Manne Gerell, Swedish criminologist and senior lecturer at Malmö university, previously told the Financial Times that shootings and bombings in the city are rife.

He said: “It almost appears random — it can happen to anybody, anywhere. It makes it more similar to terrorism.”

Stephen successfully defended his World Masters title in 2013 — becoming only the fourth man to do so after Bob Anderson, Eric Bristow and Martin Adams.

Following winning the BDO World Darts Championship in 2014, Bunting joined the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) the same year and rapidly climbed up the organisation’s world rankings.

He made an immediate impact on the circuit by winning his very first PDC Pro Tour event at a UK Open Qualifier.

In 2015 Stephen made his Premier League Darts debut after reaching the quarter-finals in his first PDC World Championship at Alexandra Palace, and then made the semi-finals of the UK Open weeks later.

Bunting has been in decent form all year, reaching three quarter-finals (£6,000 each) and two semi-finals (£8,500 each) on the European tour as well as SIX finals for the Players Championship.

Although he didn’t win any of those finals in that series, he didn’t finish second in the overall rankings with £97,000 of prize money.

In total, he has earned career prize money of over £1.8million.

It is estimated that Bunting can make up to £300 for a branded post on social media, but will depend on the platform and the partner.

What happened on the fishing trip on Gavin and Stacey? Theories explained

GAVIN and Stacey fans have long since wondered what REALLY happened on Uncle Bryn and his nephew Jason’s fishing trip.

The story has been teased ever since the first series, but it has never actually been revealed what happened.

What happened on the fishing trip?

Many Gavin and Stacey fans were still left wondering what on earth happened on Uncle Bryn’s (Rob Brydon) fishing trip with his nephew Jason (Robert Wilfort).

It was brought up again in the 2019 Christmas special, but was still not explained.

We know that what ever happened between Bryn and Jason happened because they “were very cold”, and that it was “legal in Wales“, and somehow involved “soup”.

With only snippets of information to go, fans have cone up with their own theories of what happened on the now famous fishing trip.

Things got heated

From what we know happened, it is suggested it was highly embarrassing, hence the need for secrecy.

It could also be potentially sexual due to the taboo way it’s talked about.

That could lead many people to believe that Jason and Bryn had some sort of sexual contact in order to keep warm.

However, this fan theory can be easily squashed, due to the fact Bryn also states at one point that what happened is “legal in Wales”.

As the pair are nephew and uncle, any sexual relationship they would’ve had would’ve been illegal.

They fell into the river

As we know, what happened, happened, because they “were very cold”.

One fan tweeted: “More than likely, Bryn and Jason went out fishing. Jason fell in and Bryn jumped in after him.

“After pulling him put, Bryn knew that getting warm was essential and, being Bryn, didn’t think before he got them both stripped to get out of their soaking wet clothes and to cuddle to get warm.

“Upon realising, after a while, that they were two men, not to mention uncle and nephew, and both gay, they both have a sickening feeling of guilt about the situation.”

They went to a hotel

It suggested that the duo had been intent on camping out during their fishing trip, but it soon became too cold to remain in their tents.

Instead, they checked into a hotel – and the proprietor, worried about their exposure to the rain and winds, made up a special vat of leek and potato soup for the pair to enjoy in their rooms.

While Jason was in the bathroom, Bryn made use of the television set in their room to find an “adult program”.

He settled back in the bed to watch the admittedly frisky show, resting the mug of soup on his stomach to keep himself warm.

However, when Jason came in, Bryn jumped, spilling the soup all over his trousers – and even causing some to splash upwards onto the ceiling.

With the adult program still playing in the background, things obviously looked a little confusing to Jason.

The entire situation remained awkward between the pair of them forever more.

The big mystery

The mystery was never solved during Gavin and Stacey’s original run.

Just as Uncle Bryn was finally about to tell his friends and family what actually happened during the Christmas Special, he was interrupted by the children.

But it turns out show writers Ruth Jones and James Corden had originally planned to explain the fishing trip mystery way back in series two, before changing their minds.

Lisa Edwards – who owned the house the show used as Bryn’s home – previously revealed how she still has a script of a never-aired episode.

The script had been left in their home on Trinity Street in Barry and promised to solve the show’s biggest mystery.

Speaking to Wales Online, Lisa said: “We have a script for an episode which was never aired.

“It was supposed to be Uncle Bryn and his nephew watching this VHS.

“They both watch it together to see what happened on the fishing trip. But they decided to not show the episode.”

Unfortunately the script didn’t even reveal what happened on the fishing trip, and as the episode never aired, fans remain in the dark after all these years.

The mystery began in series one at Gavin and Stacey’s wedding reception with Jason attempting to clear the air with Bryn outside the venue.

He said: “I never told anyone, you know. And besides, it wasn’t a big deal. Lots of people do it, it’s not against the law.”

How to watch the Gavin and Stacey’s Christmas special

Gavin and Stacey will air on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer special at 9pm on Christmas Day.

Fans are being treated to an extra long episode which will last for 1 hr 35 minutes, finishing at 10.35pm.

Gavin and Stacey became a surprise hit when it first launched on the BBC in 2007, and went on to have three series and two Christmas Specials.

Every single episode that has aired between 2007 and 2019 can be watched on the iPlayer right now.

With the news that the show is set to make an exciting return to screens, let's take a look at some of the comedy programme's biggest and best moments...

  • Smithy and Rudi’s American Boy rap – No one will ever forget when James Corden and Sheridan Smith rapped perfectly word for word the Kanye West and Estelle hit American Boy as they walked across the car park on the phone to Gavin.
  • Pam’s Vegetarian faux pas – Despite loving a cheesburger, Pam found herself caught up in a web of unexpected lies when she claimed to be Vegetarian. She is forced to keep up the secret throughout the entire show and uses hubby Mick to help her scoff meat. She is later rumbled when Stacey catches her in the act as she scoffs ham in the kitchen. Stacey says to her: “Is that ham, Pam!?… “I’ve seen you, Pam. A scotch egg here, a bit of bacon there, putting those regular sausages into the Linda McCartney box”.
  • THAT fishing trip – It remains one of the biggest mysteries in Gavin and Stacey history as to just exactly what did happen on the ill-fated fishing trip. Bryn appears to be hiding a secret as to an occurance between him and his nephew Jason which has left relations fractures. Ness’ on-off boyfriend, Dave, is the only other person to know the whole truth. Bryn did appear to allude to him and Jason lying together naked to keep warm as he said to Dave: “We’re going to have this out, once and for all, man to man, you may know what happened, David, but you don’t know why it happened! It was freezing cold, it was! And when you are that cold…”
  • Islands in the Stream – No one can ever forget the classic Karaoke performance of Islands in the Stream. Nessa and Bryn performed the track in front of all their nearest and dearest. It saw the whole pub burst into some line-dancing as they enjoyed a boozy night out.
  • The Xmas special proposal – In 2019, fans were left overjoyed when the show made a comeback but it ended on the ultimate cliffhanger. Nessa asked Smithy if she would marry him as she finally laid bare her feelings for him. Fans were gutted as the show then cut straight to the credits as they never found out just how Smithy answered. Will all be revealed in the brand new episode?

Phoenix Suns announce ‘mind-blowing’ $2 menu for all home games in 2025 NBA season – way cheaper than New York Knicks

Suns owner Mat Ishbia unveiled the fan-friendly menu on Thursday ahead of the game with the Indiana Pacers.

“When I walk the concourse at games there aren’t food options for families who don’t want to spend a lot of money,” Ishbia explained.

“That needs to change.”

The Suns’ solution has been to create what they call the NBA’s “most affordable, fan-friendly menu.”

A hot dog at the Footprint Center will now set back fans just $2, down from a previous price of $9.

The same price has been applied to a bag of chips and popcorn, reducing the cost by over 60 per cent.

While 16oz bottles of water and soda have also been capped at the $2 discount price.

For comparison, a hotdog at the New York Knicks will set you back $9, with a beer priced at $16, per Delish.

“Every professional team can do this,” declared one impressed fan.

“They know they are price-gouging their fans. Tickets, Parking, Jerseys etc… those are already expensive enough. Price of food at games should NOT be like they are.”

“Sporting events should have a family-friendly atmosphere. Charging insane amounts of money for food takes away from the experience,” said another.

“I support this!! Other owners have 24hrs to respond,” challenged a third.

“I am moving to Phoenix!” joked a fourth.

“$8.50 for a bottle of water is criminal,” declared a fifth.

New rights deal

The NBA signed an 11-year deal with three networks for the league's rights from the 2025-26 season.

And there will be no games on TNT for the first time since the network launched in 1988.

The Walt Disney Company will continue to show the league with 80 regular-season games across ESPN and ABC.

They will also show around 18 playoff games from the first and second round, a Conference Finals series for 10 of the 11 years, and remain the home of the NBA Finals.

NBC will return as an NBA broadcaster for the first time since 2002.

The network will show up to 100 games per season across it’s channels and Peacock streaming service.

It will also be the home of NBA All-Star and show approximately 28 playoff games from the first and second round.

NBC will show one Conference Finals Series for six of the 11 years, rotating with new broadcaster Amazon Prime.

Amazon will show 66 NBA regular-season games including one on Black Friday.

The streaming service is also the home of the latter stages of the NBA Cup and the entire Play-In Tournament.

Prime will also broadcast around one third of the playoff games in the first and second round.

Phoenix has committed to the new $2 menu for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

“A family of 4 used to spend $98 on hot dogs/water/popcorn,” Ishbia added.

“Now they can enjoy that same meal for $24.

“Our fans and community are the foundation of what we do and we will continue to invest in making this the best organization in all of basketball, on and off the court.”

Ishbia bought the Suns from Robert Sarver for $4 billion in December 2022.

The fan-focused owner has since promised to revolutionize the way supporters interact with the franchise.

Earlier this year, he helped make select Suns games available to watch on free, over-the-air television.
