Terry Bradshaw sparks major health concerns after Fox NFL Sunday appearance as fans beg legend to retire

NFL fans are urging Terry Bradshaw to consider retiring from his broadcasting positions.

Bradshaw is a member of Fox NFL Sunday and hosts the pregame and halftime shows for Thursday Night Football.

Bradshaw is more frequently making errors on Fox NFL Sunday[/caption]

While Bradshaw is a beloved member of the NFL media, he is growing more prone to mistakes during his recent appearances.

At 76 years old, Bradshaw often mistakes players names or stats, and fumbles his delivery of lines at times.

On Sunday, Bradshaw started breaking down a matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals, but Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans highlights were playing.

It took a few moments for Bradshaw to realize he was speaking about the wrong game.

“Whoops, wrong one,” he said.

Curt Menefee quickly swooped in to take over the analysis after Bradshaw slipped up.

Fans were quick to get on Bradshaw’s case after that mistake, calling for him to step down from the show.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has been open about losing his job on Fox NFL Sunday, saying last week that he hopes the time never comes.

“When that time comes, when they say to me, ‘Happy Trails,’ oh man, you want to say that’s never going to happen,” he said.

It could be coming sooner rather than later though, as Bradshaw has dealt with health issues in recent years.

Last NFL season he was meant to be on Fox’s coverage of the NFC Championship game but was absent with an illness.

Two years before he was diagnosed with cancer and had to miss time with that disease.

“I ran out of breath and Howie [Long] helped me off and a lot of people have asked what’s wrong with me, what’s happened to me physically and I just want to address it and let you know what has happened in my life,” Bradshaw said in 2022.

“In November (2021), I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I went to the Yale University Medical Center for treatment and as of today, I am bladder cancer free.

“All right, that’s the good news.”

NFL important dates

August 1 - Hall of Fame Game - Houston Texans vs Chicago Bears

August 8 – Pre-season begins

August 27 – Deadline for 53-man rosters

September 1 – Final day of pre-season

September 5 – Season opener – Baltimore Ravens vs Kansas City Chiefs

November 5 – Trade deadline

January 5 – Week 18 of regular-season

January 11 – Playoffs begin

February 9 – Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana

Bradshaw is healthy and cancer-free today, but fans still think it may be time for him to enjoy retirement.

“Terry Bradshaw having too many senior moments during halftime update of Lions-Vikings game,” one fan said.

“What FOX does to Terry Bradshaw every week is despicable,” another fan said.

“At some point we’re going to have to consider Terry Bradshaw doing the rapid halftime reports as elderly abuse,” a third fan said.

“Get Terry Bradshaw off of television,” a fourth fan said.

Garbage trucks outfitted with AI cameras spark privacy concerns as tech is used to berate residents

GARBAGE trucks using artificial intelligence to tell people off have sparked fury as residents say it could see their private information leaked.

After a pilot program was launched in a US city, people say they have been sent “postcards” warning them about their improper recycling practices.

The program in East Lansing, Michigan, uses A.I. to detect incorrect recycling[/caption]

The scheme was launched in the city of East Lansing, Michigan in September 2022, and supporters claim that it has reduced contamination in certain households by up to 23%.

In the first-of-its-kind citywide initiative, authorities compared traditional versus high-tech approaches to reducing waste.

The pilot program included an automated AI version of its “Feet on the Street” program, under which garbage workers manually inspect curbside bins and leave educational warnings when they find materials that are non-recyclable.

Over the trial period, recycling trucks were equipped with AI-powered computers and cameras trained to identify and photograph non-recyclable items in household recycling bins left on curbs.

More than 5,000 postcards were mailed out, featuring an emotive image of a family looking at a mountain of landfill.

Offending residents were then sent a geotagged photo, with everything but the item in question blurred out, in the form of a postcard telling them their mistake and giving tips.

But critics say there are privacy concerns, with personal medical or financial records potentially at risk.

“Trash is really personal,” Sarah Powazek from the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity at the University of California, Berkeley, told Bloomberg.

“Trash has a lot of sensitive information that not only could lead to identity theft, such as credit cards and financial records that people might throw out, but also about how people live their lives.”

The city has defended the 24-week pilot program, which concluded last month.

“Preliminary results show that residents who receive postcards significantly increase participation in recycling while decreasing contamination,” a city analysis read.

“Households that received a certain type of educational postcard to coach them about recyclable materials reduced contamination by 23% and set out their carts 45% more often compared to a control group,” the Ohio State University statistical analysis of the project found.

East Lansing is now exploring long-term AI technology uses on its recycling trucks.

Speaking at the Bloomberg 2024 CityLab in Mexico City last week, the city’s environmental sustainability and resiliency manager Cliff Walls presented the campaign to other urban experts from around the world.

“People are trying to do the right thing, but education is tough to get your hands on when all the solutions and rules for recycling are hyperlocal,” he said.

He addressed the privacy concerns of critics at the summit, saying the city ensured transparency with residents about the scheme, and vetted AI companies to make sure they are not selling information to third parties.

Walls said that the most common mistakes made by residents were the recycling of bagged material, polystyrene, and plastic film.

He told East Lansing Info, “Mistakes are seen less than 0.5% of the time.

“Also, if the computer wasn’t certain of the source or address of the contaminants, no postcard was mailed.”

A similar pilot scheme was launched in the Canadian city of Leduc last year, aiming to keep non-organic materials out of municipal compost carts.

Cheapest state to warm your house revealed – expert warns to ‘shop for a rate’ to keep energy bills low

AS the temperatures begin to fall across the US, new data has revealed the state where it is cheapest to warm a house.

Customers in Louisiana are lucky enough to have the least expensive energy bills, with power as low as 11.50 cents per kilowatt hour, according to new research from electricity insights firm Arbor.

Andrew Meyer
Arbor CEO Andrew Meyer says the price of energy can differ greatly across US states[/caption]

The cheapest place to heat a house is in Louisiana, according to new data[/caption]

The next cheapest locations are Washington (11.87), Vermont (12.23), Idaho (12.23), Nebraska (12.27), Arkansas (12.40), Kentucky (12.47) and South Dakota (12.90).

This is compared to residents in Hawaii, where energy is the most expensive across the nation, with prices as high as over 40 cents per kilowatt hour.

These prices are followed by California (32.56), Massachusetts (28.84), Connecticut (28.02), Alaska (25.64), Rhode Island (25.60), New York (25.01), Maine (22.59) and New Hampshire (21.71).

Energy prices differ greatly across the US for a number of reasons, according to Arbor CEO Andrew Meyer.

In an interview with The U.S. Sun, Meyer said the availability of energy in each state plays a big role in the price of electricity.

States with abundant natural gas, coal, or renewable resources often have lower generation costs, while those that need to import energy or rely on pricier sources will see higher rates.

Regulatory frameworks also impact prices.

“In deregulated markets, competition can drive costs down, but in regulated markets, utilities set prices with government approval,” Meyer told The U.S. Sun.

“Infrastructure and transmission costs vary too. Larger, sparsely populated states may pay more for maintaining the grid.”

Meyer said demand patterns and extreme weather can also push prices higher, while states with strict environmental regulations or taxes can often see added costs.

“All of these factors contribute to the significant price differences from state to state.”

The research from Arbor supports recent exclusive reporting by The U.S. Sun, which revealed massive variations in the cost of energy between states.

Analysis of government data by Payless Power found residents of Massachusetts had seen the highest increase in residential electricity costs with bills increasing by a whopping 101.5%.

By comparison, New Jersey saw the smallest increase, with costs rising just 7%, making it one of the most stable states for energy pricing.

ENERGY USE TO VARY STATE TO STATE

According to Arbor, consumers’ bills can vary greatly from just over $100 to over $500, depending on where they live and how much energy they consume.

As the weather begins to cool in October, people’s household energy usage may shift as well.

On average, households across the US will consume anywhere from 500 to over 1,100 kilowatt-hours this month depending on where they live.

The states with the highest energy consumption this month are Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Arizona and West Virginia.

The states with the lowest energy usage are Michigan, Utah, Connecticut, District of Columbia, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

ENERGY SUPER SAVERS

With inflation biting households across the US, consumers can follow a few simple tips to help save money.

Meyer said it was “imperative” that consumers keep a close eye on how much they are being charged per kilowatt hour.

In deregulated states, customers have the choice to shop around for rates, which Meyer said can be “a great way to lower your overall energy bill.”

Anyone who lives in a deregulated energy market can take advantage of these rate savings before another heat wave or cold front hits

Andrew MeyerArbor CEO

“However, most people don’t even know where to begin when it comes to shopping for a rate.

“Even if you do find a ‘shopping’ site in your state to compare and choose rates yourself, you have to be very careful about reading all of the fine print in the deal terms for your new rate, including looking out for any termination fees and how long you may be locked into the rate for.”

Juan Soto in line for staggering MLB contract with New York Yankees superstar reaching Shohei Ohtani figures

NEW York Yankees superstar Juan Soto will have a massive payday once the 2024 regular season concludes.

The four-time MLB All-Star, 25, can look to Los Angeles Dodgers two-way player Shohei Ohtani‘s recent contract when negotiating his free agency payday.

Soto celebrates after hitting the clutch home run in Cleveland, Ohio[/caption]

The Yankees are set to face the Dodgers in the World Series which is scheduled to start on Friday.

But once the season is over, the Bronx Bombers will have to decide if they want to pay the right fielder Soto a boatload of money.

He will be a free agent after the World Series and is expected to receive the second-highest contract in MLB history, trailing only Ohtani, who received a 10-year, $700 contract from the Dodgers last season.

Soto is coming off a tremendous season, recording 41 home runs and 109 RBIs along with a .419 on-base percentage.

Previous projections of a multi-year contract beginning at $500 million could now start at $600 million or more.

Soto hit a three-run home run in the 10th inning in Game 5 to help the Yankees take a 5-2 lead over the Cleveland Guardians.

The Yankees then advanced to the World Series for the first time since 2009.

Fans even chanted for Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner to resign Soto during the AL pennant trophy ceremony.

One of Soto’s teammates even urged the organization to keep Soto in pinstripes.

“Pay my guy! Pay Juan Soto!,” third baseman Jazz Chisholm told YES Network’s Meredith Marokovitz.

The Yankees acquired Soto last offseason in a trade with the San Diego Padres.

Soto and Aaron Judge have since been among the duos in baseball.

Judge has his eyes on a second career MVP thanks to his MLB-leading 58-home-run campaign.

The Yankees certainly have a history of spending and consistently rank among the league’s top spenders.

Reuters

Aaron Judge and Soto smile in the dugout during an August game[/caption]

However, they will have competition when it comes to Soto’s services.

Among the suitors will be the crosstown rival New York Mets, who is led by the $21.1 billion owner Steve Cohen.

The 2024 Mets payroll is $317 million and is coming off an NLCS exit.

They will have more than $150 million coming off the books.

Fortunately for the Yankees, their 2024 payroll came in at $312 million and they will have $80 million coming off the books.

And a World Series win, or loss, could motivate Soto to continue his stay with Aaron Boone’s Yankees.

Diddy pictured at vodka-fuelled party ‘where mystery pro athlete stopped drunk star sexually assaulting businessman’

A MYSTERY pro athlete had to step in and stop a drunk Sean “Diddy” Combs from allegedly sexually assaulting a businessman at a party, claims a fresh lawsuit.

Pictures show the music mogul at a vodka-fuelled event which is believed to be the same one where the altercation took place in 2022.

Diddy was hosting a Ciroc launch party according to the claim[/caption]

The alleged victim – identified only as John Doe – claims Combs stripped off to his pants and exposed himself in front of the luxury car salesman in the rapper’s private office, claim court papers.

Combs was believed to have been hosting a star studded event celebrating the launch of his Ciroc vodka brand.

The jailed 54-year-old allegedly took the man into his office alone before grabbing at his genitals, the lawsuit claims.

The man was left “shocked, disoriented and frozen momentarily” by Comb’s inappropriate advance, the papers revealed.

Court documents say Combs only stopped the alleged attack after a sports star intervened after entering the office.

The businessman is then said to have fled the room and immediately left the party, according to the papers.

The businessman is said to run a Los Angeles-based company that rents out luxury cars and jewelry.

He says he only went to Combs’ party because the mogul had been a customer of his for years.

Combs allegedly made it clear that “high-profile guests in the music and entertainment business” would be there as well.

The alleged victim said in the suit that he managed to snap a photo of Combs sitting on a couch with “other high profile individuals”.

This image was included in the court files.

The Sun has reached out to Combs’ representatives for comment.

This is the latest in a string of allegations against Combs in recent months since he was arrested.

Over 100 civil claims have been brought against him while he also faces criminal charges for sex trafficking and racketeering.

Combs has denied all of the allegations against him.

On Sunday, he was hit with seven new abuse allegations made by four men and three women.

One claims Combs laced the baby oil used at his ‘Freak Off‘ parties with a date rape drug.

A lawsuit claims that Combs was known for dosing his guests with the date-rape drug GHB, mixing it in drinks and body oils, the New York Daily News reported.

Another new accuser has alleged that he was abused as a 17-year-old aspiring artist at a party with Combs.

The pair were at a Manhattan hotel penthouse in 2022 when Combs told him that “he could make him a star”, say court files.

Reuters

The complainant alleged that Combs drugged him with a drink he handed him when he arrived.

Combs is then accused of grabbing the underage boy’s hand and forcing him to lay down in a bedroom full of several other people, according to the court docs.

He then allegedly molested the teen’s genitals “for an extended period of time” trying to get him aroused.

The former Bad Boys Record producer has reportedly now demanded to know the names of his alleged victims.

It comes after he was hit with six fresh allegations last week.

One of the lawsuits alleges Combs “brutally, orally raped” a man working for a rival clothing company in a Macy’s store.

As another alleged victim claims Combs groped him at a party in 1998 when he was just 16.

Combs is currently being held in Brooklyn’s notorious Metropolitan Detention Center and has been denied bail twice.

He posted on Instagram for the first time since he was arrested and slammed with sex trafficking charges to wish his two-year-old daughter Love a happy birthday.

Combs’ trial date for the criminal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering has been set for May 5 next year.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges with one of his lawyers Erica Wolff saying the claims are “false and defamatory”.

Diddy's downfall

By Forest McFarland, Senior News Reporter

BEFORE Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest on Monday night, it had been highly speculated that the rap star would find himself in custody after he was repeatedly hit with disturbing accusations – and had two of his mansions raided by the feds.

His mounting legal troubles finally came to a head on September 17, when he was charged with three federal counts, including sex trafficking, for allegedly forcing victims to take part in drug-fueled sex parties he called “Freak Offs.”

Hours before his arrest, The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed the feds investigating Diddy were secretly liaising with Tupac Shakur murder prosecutors on gangland activities.

The development also came after Diddy was named 77 times in documents submitted by prosecutors in the Tupac murder case.

Aside from the Tupac probe, Diddy was already facing a slew of lawsuits, including one he settled with his ex, Cassie Ventura, after she accused him of rape and abuse.

Disturbing hotel surveillance video from 2016 showed Diddy chasing Cassie down and then punching, kicking, and beating her in a hallway.

Two months earlier, in March 2024, two of Diddy’s mansions were raided by federal investigators, who seized three AR-15s, drugs, and 1,000 bottles of lube which were part of his “Freak Off” supplies.

In addition to his federal criminal charges, Diddy also faces a handful of lawsuits with allegations of sexual assault, harassment, and sex trafficking dating back to the early 1990s.

Music producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones filed one suit in February 2024, claiming Diddy forced him to hire sex workers and participate in sex acts while he worked on his latest album.

Diddy has denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to the federal sex trafficking charges against him, but his battle is far from over.

He faces life in prison if he’s convicted on all counts.

Who is the ‘Scalp Hunter’ serial killer John Sweeney?

John Sweeney is a convicted killer notoriously known for his gruesome murders in the UK and the Netherlands.

He has been in prison serving a life sentence tariff without parole since 2011.

John Sweeney has been dubbed the “Scalp Hunter” due to the devastating nature of his crimes.

He was given the name due to one of his many gruesome sketches depicting his murders.

Sweeney was born in Kirkdale in 1956 and married Anne Bramley in 1976.

The couple had two children but went on to get divorced in 1979.

The pair got back together and remarried two years later, but in 1982 Anne told police her husband had threatened her.

Sweeney moved to London in the mid-eighties when the couple got divorced again.

He is serving time in prison for the murder of two former girlfriends whose bodies he cut up and dumped in canals in both Rotterdam in the Netherlands and London.

It is believed that he could be connected to multiple other deaths from across Europe going back to 1976.

Who did John Sweeney kill?

Sweeney was convicted for killing two of his former girlfriends.

He was working in the Netherlands in the 1990s and one of his victims, 33-year-old model Melissa Halstead, was found there.

He killed US born, Melissa, whose remains were found in a Rotterdam canal in 1990.

It has been reported that her head and hands have never been found.

These were terrible, wicked crimes.

Judge Mr Justice Saunders

10 years later, Sweeney killed 31-year-old mum Paula Fields and dumped her remains in Regent’s Canal in London.

Sweeney was tracked down by police before being convicted of the attempted murder of another girlfriend, Delia Balmer, in 1994.

Where is John Sweeney now?

Sweeney is now serving a whole life tariff in prison.

After spending years on the run from police, Sweeney was arrested for the attempted murder of Balmer in 2001.

In 2011 he was convicted of the two murders.

While sentencing him, Judge Mr Justice Saunders said: “These were terrible, wicked crimes.

“The heads of the victims having been removed, it is impossible to be certain how they were killed.

“The mutilation of the bodies is a serious aggravating feature of the murders.

“Not only does it reveal the cold-blooded nature of the killer, but it has added greatly to the distress of the families to know that parts of their loved ones have never been recovered.”
