Scottish Power recruiting thousands of young workers to roll out cable lines across UK

THE boss of Scottish Power has told youngsters to skip college or university and start earning instead.

The energy giant is hiring thousands of workers to roll out cable lines across the country.

Keith Anderson told Sun Business when we visited its Dealain House facility in Cumbernauld, Dunbartonshire, that the firm needs to expand its workforce from around 6,500 to 11,000 within the next six years.

The hiring spree comes as Scottish Power pumps £24billion into the grid network to ensure the UK can rely on electricity and shift away from gas as part of the Government’s 2030 Clean Power push.

Mr Anderson wants to bring in more 16-year-old apprentices straight from school so they can start earning, learning and adding to the economy.

He said one of the challenges the economy faced was “people telling you that having a degree, whatever you get a degree in, is more valuable than an apprenticeship”.

The power boss is talking to the Westminster and Scottish governments about setting up huge training sites for a wartime-style recruitment effort for the entire grid sector.

Scottish Power is already trying to attract workers at the INEOS Grangemouth refinery, which is shutting next year, and hiring others from bust builder ISG.

Mr Anderson said: “We can retrain anybody.

“We’ve had long haul truck drivers, we don’t care, bring it on.”

It is hiring across the whole of the UK, not just Scotland, as it rolls out over 50 miles of overhead electricity pylon lines and cables to take power from wind farms and other sites to where it’s needed.

Mr Anderson said the work was crucial because, while the UK had been faster than others to switch to renewable energy, its pace of investment in networks had stalled.

The power boss added: “We need to massively speed up and accelerate the development of the grid.”

He said the UK’s desire to attract more tech firms with data centres and become a world leader in AI will require huge amounts of electricity.

More will be needed for Labour’s housebuilding targets and the switch to electric cars.

An AI data centre needs up to 400 megawatts of energy, with one site using as much as a city the size of Liverpool or Glasgow, he added.

Mr Anderson said Labour’s clean power 2030 push was “from an engineering point of view, absolutely possible”.

But he said it must be achieved in that time if the UK stood any chance of also hitting its Net Zero 2050 ambitions.

Ex-mechanic Graeme Boyle, 41, used to handle car batteries but now it’s 11,000-volt lines.

Michael Shirra, 33, trained with chefs, plumbers and a City trader.

The firm will soon lift school leavers’ pay but apprentices currently start on £20,000, earning £28,500 in their last year of training.

HEATHROW is splashing out £2.3billion over the next two years, £244million more than it forecast, on upgrading its baggage handling and making departures and arrivals more punctual.

It also aims to “boost cycling and walking to the airport”.

BILLIONS TO HIT TARGET

SCOTTISH Power is one of three energy firms investing tens of billions over the next five years in the dash to meet the Clean Power 2030 target.

National Grid yesterday unveiled plans to invest £35billion in maintaining and upgrading its networks, pipes and increasing network capacity.

Last week SSE said it would pump £22.3billion into infrastructure.

The investment could support 100,000 new jobs in the three firm’s supply chains.

KNEAD TO TRAVEL

PIZZAEXPRESS has revealed plans to open its first US site next year in Florida.

The chain, which began in London’s Soho in 1965, has 360 pizzerias in the UK and 100 international sites.

Boss Paula McKenzie wants to hit 1,000 restaurants globally by 2030 — and is working with a US franchisee in Tampa.

Ms McKenzie revealed its popular American Hot pizza came about because founder Peter Boizot had a Texan girlfriend.

She added: “With this link, our launch in America tastes a whole lot better!”

POSTIES’ JOB DEAL

THE workers’ union for Royal Mail has agreed a series of commitments with its Czech billionaire buyer.

The Government approved Daniel Kretinsky’s £3.6billion takeover by his EP Group.

A reform of the Universal Service Obligation could mean there are job cuts, but only “as a last resort”, unions said.

The CWU said EP committed to not run Royal Mail as a “gig economy” employer, to not establish a separate company and to review posties’ bonus and sick pay.

Commitments will be reviewed in 2028.

HONDA & NISSAN IN LINK TALK

Honda and Nissan have started merger talks about a deal to create the world’s third-biggest car maker.

A tie-up of two Japanese firms would pool their scale and resources at a time when they are both coming under intense pressure from Tesla and cheap Chinese rivals, such as BYD.

A deal between Honda and Nissan would create a £36billion car giant, but still pale next to Tesla’s £1.1trillion.

The two Japanese giants had combined global sales of 7.4million vehicles last year and have agreed to co-operate on working together on EV technology and batteries.

News of the talks comes amid weak sales of electric cars to ordinary drivers, while the motor industry also faces increasing regulation.

Rivals such as Stellantis and Ford have already been cutting jobs to cope with the rapidly changing industry.

BIG SLUMP IN OUTPUT

MANUFACTURING output has fallen at the fastest pace since the start of the pandemic due to a “collapse” in confidence since the Budget.

Factory volumes fell sharply in the three months to December with a balance of -25 per cent from -12 per cent in the quarter to November, says a CBI survey.

CBI economist Ben Jones said manufacturers had faced a perfect storm of weakening demand and increased costs.

Luke Littler could not have been more wrong with eight-word comment after World Darts Championship

LUKE LITTLER accepted an invitation to the Premier League with an eight-word statement that didn’t age well at all.

Littler, 17 has taken the world of darts by storm ever since bursting on to the scene last year at the young age of 16.

The Nuke made it all the way to the 2024 World Championship final where he lost to Luke Humphries.

And upon being offered a place to the Premier League, the Warrington thrower gave the green light to his manager suggesting this may never happen again.

Littler issued an eight-word response to his rep and told him: “Let’s do it, it might not happen again.”

The teenage sensation looked back at that moment with great fondness.

Littler recalled: “It’s unbelievable, no more development tour this is it. Playing in the Premier League and comfortably in the [world’s top] 32.

“As soon as I came off the stage [after the World Championship final], did the media and saw the family, my manager pulled me aside and said, ‘Do you want to do it? ‘ I said, ‘Let’s do it, it might not happen again’.”

But the World Championships and Premier League was just the beginning for Littler.

The popular thrower topped the league phase and exacted revenge on Humphries in the final.

Littler went on to win the Grand Slam, which propelled him to fourth place in the world rankings.

And he is now the bookies’ favourite to win the World Darts Championship.

Littler would get the chance to exact revenge on Humphries if they make it to the semi-finals.

Enzo Maresca plotting Chelsea transfer splurge if Mykhailo Mudryk slapped with lengthy ban for positive drugs test

NZO MARESCA is set to raid the January transfer market if Mykhailo Mudryk cops a lengthy ban.

The Chelsea boss is supporting his winger after a positive test for the banned substance meldonium.

The club could need a new winger if Mykhailo Mudryk gets banned[/caption]

Mudryk, who insists he is innocent, is awaiting the results of a ‘B’ sample taken while on Ukraine duty.

High-flying Chelsea have spent more than £1billion under the current ownership.

Maresca said: “We have three league games before January.

“After these we are going to sit and decide if we need to do something.”

Mudryk’s urine showed traces of meldonium which is considered a performance-enhancing drug.

The 23-year-old wideman, who could be banned for up to four years if found guilty, insists he is in shock at the findings.

Chelsea are well stacked with wingers but are in with a shout of the Premier League title plus a European trophy this season.

Homegrown Tyrique George is most likely to be promoted if Mudryk is suspended long term.

SunSport understands there is no recall clause in Raheem Sterling’s loan deal with Arsenal.

But with Chelsea in second place behind leaders Liverpool and firing on all cylinders, head coach Maresca is determined his squad will not fall short with silverware within reach.

Meanwhile, defender Josh Achempong, 18, has signed a new contract until 2029.

He was handed his full Blues debut in last week’s Conference League victory in Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, Maresca has also claimed that Mudryk’s career with Chelsea is not over yet.

He added: “We all believe Mudryk is innocent.

“I don’t think Misha’s Chelsea career is over. I think he will come back.

“We don’t know when, that is the only doubt we have in this moment.

“But for sure, he will be back.”

Mykhailo Mudryk's Chelsea FC 2024-25 EPL stats: 7 games, 2 chances created, 35 passes, 0 goals, 0 assists, 2 tackles, 2 fouls.

What drug did Mudryk take?

By SunSport's Joshua Jones

MYKHAILO MUDRYK returned a positive sample for a drugs test in October.

The Chelsea winger could face a ban for up to four years – because the drug was a performance-enhancing substance.

It is alleged Mudryk had the drug meldonium in his system.

Meldonium – aka mildronate – is a metabolic modulator similar to insulin and is widely used in Eastern Europe.

It is used in heart disease therapy but is also claimed to enable athletes to withstand greater stress, use oxygen more sparingly and restore energy levels quickly.

Meldonium was added to the World Anti-Doping Agency banned list in January 2016 following its high prevalence at the 2015 European Games in Baku.

Just months later, former tennis world No1 and Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova was banned for two years by the International Tennis Federation – although this was later cut to 15 months on appeal.

Sharapova had been taking the drug for ten years for various health issues and claimed she was unaware it had been added to the banned list.

Also in 2016, Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin was found to have traces of meldonium in his system before he was due to fight fellow heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder.

How long are drugs bans in football?

By SunSport's Joshua Jones

MYKHAILO MUDRYK could be banned for up to four years after failing a drugs test

But what are the rules regarding drugs in football?

There is a big difference between recreational drugs and performance-enhancing substances.

Recreational drugs – such as cannabis, cocaine, heroin, LSD and MDMA – carry a six-month suspension.

However, this ban can increase to up to two years if a drug is detected when a player is tested after a match.

But performance-enhancing drugs carry a far more severe punishment.

And crucially the alleged drug Mudryk tested positive for, meldonium, falls under that category.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code’s standard ban is four years.

That is how long Paul Pogba was suspended for following his failed drugs test – although it was later reduced on appeal to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The FA follows the UK Anti-Doping code under the WADA authority so will follow their lead and procedures.

Should Mudryk’s follow-up secondary ‘B’ sample also test positive, he is likely to be hit with at least an 18-month ban but it could be as high as four years.

The only person in football currently banned on the UKAD sanctions list for anti-doping rule violations is Craig Campbell.

The former Scottish striker was banned for four years in December 2022 after being convicted of dealing cocaine.

Frantic search for Australian backpacker, 29, who vanished from hostel two weeks ago before sending ‘cryptic’ texts

A FRANTIC search has been launched for an Australian backpacker who vanished from a London hostel two weeks ago.

Jessica Parkinson, 29, has not been seen since December 8 with her family now desperate to hear from her.

Jessica Parkinson’s family is now frantically searching for her
The backpacker has not been seen since December 8, cops said

Jessica failed to turn up to her shift at barbecue restaurant Texas Joes – where she had worked for the past year.

When managers texted to ask where she was, she claimed to have got her start time wrong – and promised to be “right there” by 5pm.

But she failed to show and sent a “cryptic” text to a colleague later that evening.

Restaurant owner Joe Walters told the Daily Mail that it was very out of character for Jessica to just go missing as she was normally “very reliable”.

He said: “Then she didn’t show up to work on Thursday and then when she didn’t show up on Friday I reached out to her father in Australia.

“He told me the police had been alerted and is being dealt with by the missing persons unit.”

Jessica was reported missing by her father on December 11 after not making contact with relatives in Queensland.

She had recently been evicted from her flat and had been living in St Christopher’s Inn hostel on Borough High Street.

Anyone with information regarding Jessica’s whereabouts are urged to get in touch with the Met.

She is described as being 5ft4 with blue eyes and reddish, blonde hair.

Joe said: “She is very clever, outgoing and friendly.

“Her two sisters and her father have heard nothing. And I assume the police know she hasn’t used her passport.”

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police are currently investigating the whereabouts of Jessica Parkinson, 29 after she was last seen on Sunday, 08 December in Bermondsey.

“Anyone who may have seen Jessica is encouraged to contact police quoting reference number, 01/1196494/24.”

Tyson Fury axes dad John for Oleksandr Usyk rematch after controversial advice during first fightLocation: England

John, who HEADBUTTED one of Usyk’s team days before the Saudi showdown, repeatedly contradicted head coach SugarHill Steward‘s instructions as he barked orders at his son.

And he’s seemingly paid the price as Tyson has opted to have Steward and his cousin Andy Lee call the shots in Saturday night’s Riyadh Rumble.

When asked who will corner the Wythenshawe warrior, Steward said: “Just myself, Andy Lee and the cutman.

“Pretty much that’s it.”

Tyson recently suggested his old man could be absent from his corner by refusing to confirm his presence.

He said: “I don’t know. I don’t get involved in all that s**te.

“I just go to the gym, train and fight, get paid, go home.

“That’s what I have always done.”

Fury, 36, refused to give Team Usyk any of idea of his game plan for their second slugfest as he cut short his open workout just moments after lacing his gloves.

But Steward insists the former unified heavyweight king is primed and ready to avenge his only professional defeat.

He said: “Tyson Fury is just ready right now, along with myself.

“He has always had a silly demeanour, and playing around but this is a different side of him. He is 100 per cent ready.”

Fury’s dreams of becoming the first undisputed king of the heavyweights in nearly 25 years was shattered courtesy of a split decision defeat to the undefeated Ukrainian.

And he’s vowed to inlifct a world of “pain” on the London 2012 gold medallist.

“A lot of pain,” he told Sky Sports when asked if he had anything up his sleeve for his rival. “Smash and damage.”

NFL announces major changes to Week 17 schedule with three games moved to different day and primetime swap

THE NFL has revealed big changes to their Week 17 schedule which will include a primetime game swap.

On Tuesday, the league announced the six teams that will be playing on Saturday, December 28.

Washington Commanders star Jayden Daniels celebrates after beating the New Orleans Saints 20-19 in Week 15[/caption]

When the NFL schedule was revealed in May, the league announced that there would be three games played on the Saturday of Week 17, and listed a total of five contests to choose from that could be flexed to that day.

So this week, the NFL announced that there will be three games played on Saturday, December 27: the Los Angeles Chargers taking on the New England Patriots at 1:00 pm Eastern, the Denver Broncos facing the Cincinnati Bengals at 4:30 pm Eastern, and the Arizona Cardinals at the Los Angeles Rams at 8:15 pm Eastern.

If the Broncos beat the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16, Denver would clinch a playoff spot.

If that scenario were to happen, at least two of those Saturday contests would have playoff implications.

Each of the games will air on NFL Network.

The other two contests that didn’t get selected for Saturday will now be played on Sunday, December 29.

Those two games will be the Indianapolis Colts versus the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons at the Washington Commanders.

The Colts-Giants matchup has been changed to Sunday at 1:00 pm Eastern while the latter game will be a primetime showdown.

The Commanders game will now be a Sunday Night Football game on NBC in Week 17, and the Miami Dolphins-Cleveland Browns matchup will be moved from the spot.

The Miami-Cleveland contest will be at 4:05 pm Eastern.

Miami is currently 6-8 and has just a four percent chance of making the playoffs, per the New York Times, while the Browns are currently 3-11.

The Commanders and Falcons will have plenty to play for in Week 17.

Jayden Daniels and the Washington squad are currently 9-5 and if the Falcons beat the Giants this week and the Commanders lose to the Philadelphia Eagles, then Atlanta would be just one game in back of Washington in the NFC wild-card standings ahead of Week 17.

Week 17 will have its first and only Saturday tripleheader of the season.

The NFL will have an unusual schedule heading into the Saturday games.

There will be two Wednesday games as the league will have a doubleheader on Christmas Day.

The two games will involve the Kansas City Chiefs at the Pittsburgh Steelers followed by the Baltimore Ravens on the road versus the Houston Texans.

All four times have clinched playoff berths in the AFC.

The Chiefs need to win two of their final three games to clinch the No. 1 seed in the conference.

The Steelers and Ravens will face each other this week as Pittsburgh can win the AFC North title with a win.

The Texans clinched the AFC West title over the weekend.

Final chance to ensure Christmas gifts arrive on time with shorter holiday season as USPS, FedEx & UPS switch deadlines

THE clock is ticking for consumers to get their last-minute holiday gifts when desired this year.

Christmas is only seven days away, leaving very little time for any packages to make their way to loved ones’ doors.

Getty
American consumers must make their Christmas orders soon or they’ll arrive late (stock image)[/caption]
Getty
There are several deadlines for shipping that are approaching fast (stock image)[/caption]

Given how the dates fall in 2024, the holiday season has also been shortened, meaning shoppers must’ve taken time to plan.

The United States Postal Service (USPS), UPS, and FedEx have also taken extra steps to hire seasonal employees for the influx of orders.

USPS noted the hiring of around 7,500 additional workers.

“So, ship early and enjoy your holiday season,” USPS chief customer and marketing officer and executive vice president Steve Monteith noted in a statement to customers.

USPS

Those looking to ship with USPS must be aware of some crucial send-by deadlines for December 25, as some are about to pass.

If you plan on sending gifts through the Ground Advantage service or even First-Class Mail service, the last day to get items out and have them delivered by Christmas is December 18.

That leaves only hours for some shoppers to take action.

The Priority Mail service deadline is on December 19, and Priority Mail Express is listed for December 21.

It’s also important to note that all of these USPS deadlines apply to the contiguous United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii.

For Alaska and Hawaii, the slightly adjusted dates are as follows.

  • First-Class Mail service: December 18
  • Priority Mail service: December 19
  • Priority Mail Express service: December 20

More information on international and military mail and package delivery deadlines can be found on the USPS website.

FEDEX

FedEx also has mail-by dates for packages to arrive on or before Christmas Eve for its Home and Ground services.

FedEx Home offers customers delivery of packages weighing under 150 pounds to residences every day of the week with a $5.15 surcharge.

Send-By Deadlines Coming Up Fast

  • USPS
    • Ground Advantage – December 18
    • First Class Mail – December 18
    • Priority Mail – December 19
    • Priority Mail Express – December 21
  • FedEx
    • FedEx Home Delivery 5-Day: December 17
    • Fedex Home Delivery 4-Day: December 18
    • FedEx Home Delivery 2-3 Day: December 20
    • FedEx Home Delivery 1-Day: December 23
    • FedEx Overnight: December 23
    • FedEx Same Day: December 24
    • FedEx Ground 5-Day: December 17
    • FedEx Ground 4-Day: December 18
    • FedEx Ground 3-Day: December 19
  • UPS
    • 3-Day Select – December 19
    • 2nd-Day Air – December 20
    • Next Day Air – December 23

Ground delivers packages of 150 pounds or less to commercial and business addresses on Monday through Friday, not weekends.

The deadlines for each are listed below, and some have already passed.

  • FedEx Home Delivery 5-Day: December 17
  • Fedex Home Delivery 4-Day: December 18
  • FedEx Home Delivery 2-3 Day: December 20
  • FedEx Home Delivery 1-Day: December 23
  • FedEx Overnight: December 23
  • FedEx Same Day: December 24
  • FedEx Ground 5-Day: December 17
  • FedEx Ground 4-Day: December 18
  • FedEx Ground 3-Day: December 19

FedEx also offers more information on international packages to Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico on its website.

UPS

The deadlines for a domestic delivery ahead of Christmas with UPS are a little more straightforward.

Ground can vary and must be calculated through the UPS website.

Still, the 3-Day Select option must be made by December 19, 2nd Day Air by December 20, and Next Day Air by December 23.

UPS also caught the attention of customers when it doubled down on a price hike earlier this summer.

A customer also claimed UPS held their package “hostage” and forced them to pay more for home delivery last month.

UFO whistleblower slams ‘contradictory’ answers from US officials on troubling drone mystery as conspiracy theories grow

THE United States government has been accused of leading the public astray as the New Jersey drone mystery continues to leave people dumbfounded.

Worried Americans are still searching for answers after the number of unusual sightings in the sky increased in several states, most notably New Jersey.

World-renowned UFO expert Nick Pope has told The U.S. Sun about his anger at the government’s handling of the recent drone crisis[/caption]

Officials claim people could be seeing civilian aircraft, government, military, or drones used by any of the one million registered users in the US.

MOUNTING FEARS

The Pentagon has stressed that they are not dangerous while suggesting there is no evidence to suggest the drones belong to another country.

However, NJ officials are demanding answers, and confusion is deepening as public trust in the government agencies tasked with solving the mystery continues to erode.

State Senator Jon Bramnick wants the Department of Defense to “come clean” and tell everyone what’s happening.

World-renowned UFO expert Nick Pope has been following the developments closely and has little faith in blundering officials keeping the nation up to speed.

The House Intelligence Committee held a classified, closed briefing on Tuesday, which was another alarming development for Pope.

“One question people should be asking is this: given that this week’s official statement said the sightings were caused by people misidentifying ordinary drones, aircraft, helicopters, and stars, why was the House Intelligence Committee briefing classified?” he told The U.S. Sun.

MASSIVE ISSUES

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has been urged to use special drone technology to investigate the crisis.

Pope, however, has serious reservations about Mayorkas.

“While I don’t want to make this a party political issue, there’s no getting away from the fact that one of the people assuring us there’s no threat is Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who’s been responsible for the chaos at the Southern border for the last few years,” he continued.

“This hardly inspires confidence.”

Pope says the “near-hysteria” about the bizarre influx of drones, which has seen speculation “reach fever pitch” – he believes rumors that the US government is using the drones to search for a missing nuclear device are way off the mark – has exploded because of its proximity to three overlapping communities.

UFO, drone, and conspiracy theory fanatics have driven massive interest in the story, which has gained worldwide attention.

“This straddles all those subjects,” Pope continued. “It’s a situation where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.”

“The problem is that government statements on this are contradictory: on the one hand, they say there’s no danger to the public, while on the other, they say they don’t know what these things are.

“Then they dismiss rational theories, such as the idea that some drones could belong to a foreign adversary, with little more than a statement that there’s no evidence to support the claim.

“As the saying goes, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, and such a potential threat to the US shouldn’t be dismissed so quickly. “

The idea that aliens, however, are behind the issue is far off the mark, according to Pope.

“Whatever’s going on here,” he said. “It’s more likely terrestrial than extraterrestrial; more likely Russian than Martian.”

New law will change cars forever as automakers are forced to install ‘chime’ alarm in all vehicles

A NEW safety law is set to change cars forever, with every automaker forced to install a feature in their vehicles.

The federal law will mandate rear passenger seatbelt alerts in all new vehicles.

Getty
A new federal law will require all cars to have rear seatbelt alarms[/caption]
Getty
The alarms have already been mandated in Europe since 2019[/caption]

From September 1, 2027, every new car and light truck sold in the US will be required to include an additional chime.

Announcing the move on Monday, the Department of Transportation announced that rear seatbelt reminders will be required in the US.

These alarms have been compulsory in Europe since 2019, but the US is only now catching up.

Experts say the alarms are necessary to increase safety for rear-seat passengers.

Seatbelts reduce the risk of fatality for rear-seat passengers by a staggering 55%, according to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

That figure increases to 74% in reduced fatalities for rear-seat passengers in SUVs.

However, the NHTSA claims that front seatbelt usage was still at 91.6% with rear seatbelt use at only 81.7%, as of 2022.

Traffic deaths spiked in the wake of the Covid pandemic.

Roughly half of all occupant car crash fatalities were not wearing a seatbelt.

The NHTSA claims that the new seatbelt chime for rear-seat passengers could prevent over 500 injuries and save approximately 50 lives per year.

The chime alarm is the same technology that beeps while you are sitting in the driving seat without a seatbelt.

But under the new scheme, this would rolled out to all of the seats.

The idea is to annoy passengers into buckling up.

Carmakers should have until the 2028 model year to comply with the new regulation.

However, it is expected that many companies will roll out the new software before the deadline.

SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEMS

A NEW federal law will mandate rear seatbelt alarms in all new cars:

  • From September 1, 2027, the rear seatbelt warning system will be required on all new vehicles.
  • Manufacturers will also have to meet the enhanced front seatbelt warning system requirements on all new vehicles from September 1, 2026.
  • The final rule amends Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, “Occupant crash protection,” which previously required a seat belt warning only for the driver’s seat.
  • The new requirements apply to passenger cars, trucks, buses with the exception of school buses, and multipurpose passenger vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating up to 10,000 pounds.
  • Approximately half of all passenger vehicle occupants who died in crashes in 2022 were unbelted, according to data from the NHTSA’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System.

Some people were critical of the legislation.

“Are there provisions in this to address child seats in the rear?” one commenter wrote online.
