Raging Line of Duty star Stephen Graham brands football ref a ‘f***ing Teletubby’ in touchline rant as he faces FA probe

LINE of Duty star Stephen Graham faces an FA probe over a foul-mouthed touchline rant at a football match.

The Boiling Point actor, 51, hurled a string of X-rated insults at non-league referee David Kennedy, including a reference to a sex act.

His furious tirade caused last Saturday’s game at Barrow Town in Leicestershire to be held up by eight minutes.

A source close to Graham — who was there with his son — said he is “mortified” and has “apologised profusely” to the ref.

Raging Stephen branded the football ref a “f***ing Tellytubby”.

He also called the shocked official a “fat useless t**t” and asked if he was bullied at school.

David Kennedy eventually stopped the non-league game and refused to continue until Graham left the touchline.

The Boiling Point actor later apologised, as the local FA launched an investigation into his “appalling” behaviour.

Witnesses said Graham, who was watching his nephew play for Barrow Town in Leics, suddenly snapped for no reason during their home clash with Heather St John’s Reserves last Saturday.

Graham, who was with his 17-year-old son Alfie, called the referee a “f***ing Tellytubby” after the portly children’s TV characters.

The actor, standing on the touchline between the subs’ benches, then accused the 41-year-old official of being on a “power trip” and said he was a “useless t**t”.

As the outburst continued, he went on: “Look at the state of you, you fat t**t” before making a crude reference to a sex act.

Witnesses claim Graham, who played hardman gangster roles in Snatch, Gangs of New York and Boardwalk Empire, also boasted about being famous, saying: “Google me, I’m on Netflix.”

The actor finally asked Mr Kennedy: “Were you bullied at school?”

The game was then held up for eight minutes while the referee demanded he leave.

Graham, who lives with his family in Ibstock, Leics, is said to have later called the ref to apologise.

A source said last night: “His behaviour was absolutely disgusting.

“The referee was so horrified, along with everyone else.

His behaviour was absolutely disgusting. The referee was so horrified, along with everyone else

A source

“He, rightly, refused to continue with the match until Graham left.

“Eventually he agreed to go and sit in the bar so the game could continue.

“This is non-league football, why is he getting so angry?

“To speak to a referee like that is absolutely appalling.

“He’s a household name and is a real local celebrity around here.

“Clearly he wasn’t worried about being recognised.

“Nothing had even happened to make him flip out – it was like someone flicked a switch.

“There were kids watching the match.

“It’s shameless and he shouldn’t be able to get away with it.”

The Leicestershire and Rutland County FA are investigating.

Graham, awarded an OBE last year for services to drama, is said to have asked to say sorry to the ref immediately after the game but was advised to go home.

Two days later, he called Mr Kennedy to apologise, telling him: “I’m sorry, I don’t know what it is about football, it turns me into a Neanderthal.

“I need to do some soul searching and work out why I behaved the way I did.”

A source close to the Peaky Blinders actor said he was “mortified”.

However, they deny claims he shouted “Google me”.

Further allegations that he threatened to “knock out” the ref and used the C-word were also denied.

They said: “He’s mortified by his behaviour.

“He’s a very passionate football supporter but understands nothing can justify his actions.

“He’s apologised profusely to the referee and is hoping to learn from the incident.”

It is believed Graham — a diehard Liverpool FC fan — sourced Mr Kennedy’s number from the club.

Look at the state of you, you fat t**t

Stephen Graham

Barrow Town eventually lost the game 3-0.

Graham’s rant comes amid a huge rise in abuse of refs, with the FA last year launching its “Enough Is Enough” campaign to stamp out discriminatory behaviour.

Graham has previously watched his nephew play for Barrow Town, with the club hailing his “community spirit”.

On November 30, it posted a picture of him on Facebook, and said: “We had a thrilling 3-3 draw against Sileby, but the real surprise came when actor Stephen Graham stopped by to support his nephew and cheer on the Barrow Town team.

“He even took time to chat and snap photos with fans.

“A brilliant example of community spirit and support.”

The FA last night said it was supporting the local body in its investigation.

A spokesman said: “We strongly condemn any abusive or unacceptable behaviour aimed toward our match officials, on or off the pitch.

“We are aware of this incident and supporting Leicestershire and Rutland County FA who are carrying out a full investigation.”

FA rules say Graham could be banned from watching Barrow Town play, either permanently or for a set number of games.

Clubs could also have points deducted for fans’ misbehaviour.

Merseyside-born Graham has been teetotal for seven years after previously telling how he “lost himself” and turned to alcohol while playing a racist in This is England.

He also revealed his earliest memory was Liverpool FC bringing the European Cup home to the city.

He said: “When I really started to understand football more in my teens, seeing the class football they played, that was it.

“I was there for life through thick or thin.”

Leicestershire and Rutland County FA, Barrow Town FC and Graham’s agent have been contacted.

Cadbury fans are going wild for giant 1kg bags of Brits’ favourite chocs scanning for just £14

CADBURY fans are going wild for a giant bag of Britain’s favourite chocolates that are now available for just £14 in giant 1kg bags.

Chocolate lovers have reacted to a Facebook post on Monday from Newsfoodsuk sharing the news, and they couldn’t be more excited by the deal.

Cadbury‘s Mini Eggs are bringing Easter extra early for British shoppers.

Giant 1kg bags for just £14 have been spotted on the shelves at B&M.

Due to the time of year, not many retailers are currently stocking Mini Eggs, but the current places to get them are charging more.

Right now, the main place to grab yourself one of these huge bags of Mini Eggs is from Cadbury themselves.

The chocolatiers are charging £15 for a 1kg bag, making B&M the cheapest place for Brits to celebrate a bit of Easter at Christmas.

Several comments raved about the deal, with one person humorously writing: “Whilst, as a Christian, this time of year, I prefer to celebrate Jesus’ birthday, rather than his death, however, 1kg of Mini Eggs isn’t to be ignored and the Lord himself, I’m sure, would approve!”

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.

Another said: “My daughter purchased a pack last weekend @£14 She spent hours counting out the eggs then popping them in the same colour pots.”

Some shoppers pointed out how quickly B&M are bringing in their Easter celebrations, with a third commenting: “We didn’t even make it past Christmas before Easter is in!”

Those who are keen to spend the holidays enjoying the giant bags of Mini Eggs can go to B&M now and grab one.

NEW CADBURY CHOCOLATE BLISS

Fans of Cadbury can look forward to more than just massive Mini Eggs.

The Sun has also reported on a new Cadbury bar that people are calling “pure bliss” and “impossible to resist”.

The Breakaway Cookie Dough X Twirl Bar features layers of crunchy biscuit pieces and a chewy cookie dough filling.

This is all encased in Cadbury‘s classic smooth milk chocolate.

The chocolate bar landed in Australia earlier this year, receiving a sensational reaction from Cadbury fans.

TikTok influencer Michael Jamie shared his live reaction to the treat, noting it “has a honeycomb scent”, “definitely tastes different to a regular Twirl” and labelled it “worth the wait”.

Now, Brits can get their hands on the chocolate bar, as it has been spotted on B&M shelves ahead of the holidays.

The low price of under £2 a bar makes this a cheap novelty for chocolate fans this festive season.

As chocolates are a staple of Christmas, shoppers can go and get the bars for themselves at B&M.

We did a huge River Island Christmas haul – two dresses pass the size 10 vs 18 test, grab them quick

WITH Christmas just a week away, the high street is full of sparkly and pretty outfits for the big day.

And oversized bows are proving just as on-trend as trusty sequins this year.

The oversized bow is a gorgeous detail[/caption]

Even better, floaty styles are in which means comfy dresses that are bloat-friendly for all the Christmas dinner, trimmings and cocktails.

I decided to put some of the new festive fashion arrivals to the test alongside my work bestie, Lynn, to see if they suit all figures.

I’m 33, plus-sized and petite with big boobs while my 44-year-old friend Lynn is a slim size 10.

Together, we launched our For EveryBODY campaign to find some of the best looks from the high street to see what looks great on all shapes.

We scour the supermarkets and high street stores for outfits that flatter both of our ages and shapes and to see if there really is something for every body.

On our hunt for some show-stopping buys for our Christmas special, we were invited along to the newly refurbished River Island store on Glasgow’s Argyle Street.

And we found two incredible dresses that are both priced under £50.

First up, we bagged a Black Bow Back Sequin Mini Dress for £49.

The frock is available in sizes small, medium and large and has an oversized fit.

This generous sizing came in handy as they didn’t have a large in store. Instead, at a size 18, I picked up a medium which was a perfect ‘regular’ fit. Lynn, meanwhile, went for the small and had the full oversized, swing style effect.

A gorgeous satin bow fastening at the back really elevates this dress from a basic sequins piece. It’s very well lined too, which means no annoying itchiness from the sparkles.

Since my dress sat slightly shorter due to sizing, we paired it with tights and chunky boots – but it can be easily dressed up with heels too.

Next up, we took the satin bow one step further with a stunning Black Velvet Back Bow Mini Dress.

This one was even more cost-effective, priced at £45, and fitted like a glove in our true to size picks.

The sleeveless frock is a flattering A-line shape, meaning it skims over and lumps and bumps.

But it is the plunging back with long satin bow detail that makes it a gorgeous LBD addition to your wardrobe.

This dress can easily transition from Christmas to New Year’s Eve too, so you’ll get more value for your money by whirling it out on both occassions.

Southampton 1 Liverpool 2: Arne Slot watches on from stands as much-changed Reds cling on to reach last four

ARNE SLOT will have enjoyed the shelter of Southampton’s press box, but he will not have been sitting comfortably.

The Liverpool manager, in the stands due to suspension, watched as his much changed side had to hang on to reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Southampton had looked to be waving the holders through to the last four after a tepid first half.

It had not been much better than the performance against Tottenham on Sunday which got Russell Martin sacked.

Liverpool took advantage, with Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott giving them a comfortable lead.

But changes at the break and a step up from Saints made for a tense second half – sparked by Cameron Archer’s strike.

Simon Rusk, the Under-21s coach who only arrived in the summer, was given the ‘privilege’ of stepping in as interim following Martin’s sacking.

It is not an attractive job for many coaches, but fans will at least take comfort that Rusk got them showing some fight – eventually.

The former Brighton, Nottingham Forest and England youth coach named a strong side given there is little need to save players for their doomed Premier League campaign.

Slot had left seven first team regulars, including Mohammed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, on Merseyside.

Southampton vs. Liverpool match stats: shots on target, shots, blocked shots, possession, passes, completed passes, tackles, fouls conceded, corners.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERS

Van Dijk’s absence and Ibrahima Konate being injured meant midfielder Wataru Endo started at centre-back, while teenager Trey Nyoni was handed a full debut.

If Martin was watching from home, he would not have liked that the first action without him in the dugout was a lumped ball forwards from kick-off.

While that drew some ironic cheers, there was soon a sign that Southampton’s woes had not all been down to Martin as more mistakes – and the rank weather – combined to give Liverpool the open.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, captain on the night, spun away from Matheus Fernandes deep in his own half and looked to thread a left-footed ball through for Nunez.

Jan Bednarek swung a leg at the pass and sent the ball looping towards his own goal, dropping in acres of space for the Liverpool striker.

Alex McCarthy dropped instead of coming out to engage Nunez and slipped on the greasy surface, making it easy for the Uruguayan to finish before cocking his ear to the home fans – who had been calling him a “s*** Andy Carroll”.

The goal saw Southampton drop, in an effort to avoid crumbling like they did against Spurs, and afforded Liverpool control.

But this Southampton defence is one of the most obliging in Europe and, despite having one bank of five and another of four ahead, still left gaps.

Cody Gakpo drifted into one of those, before exchanging passes with Endo and feeding Elliott.

The tenacious midfielder controlled well and saw his shot take a slight deflection off Ryan Manning before nestling in the back of the net.

Their progress had been so straightforward in the first half that Slot decided to hook Alexander-Arnold, who had been dictating, at the break.

Another one resting up, as Federico Chiesa was sent on for some precious minutes while Joe Gomez was also given the second half off.

But Southampton hit back, in comical and clinical fashion.

The lively Fernandes looked to thump a ball forwards but sent it square into Endo’s face.

With the Japanese midfield starry-eyed on the floor the ball fell for Archer, who cut inside Jarrell Quansah and Tyler Morton before lashing into the far post.

St. Mary’s was suddenly alive and would have erupted if, two minutes later, Archer had managed to convert a far easier chance.

Sub Yuki Sugawara bent a cross into the small striker, whose soft touch allowed Kelleher to save before Morton hooked clear. Neither should have been given a chance.

Despite being tested, Liverpool continued to hook the experienced figures as Alexis Mac Allister and then Gakpo were replaced.

Amidst the wind and rain there was a sense that, despite all their failings, Southampton had a chance here.

They were much improved and caused continuous problems.

Liverpool had the opportunity to extinguish that hope, but Taylor Harwood-Bellis recovered to block from Chiesa on the line – as he would do in added time.

Rusk sent on towering striker Paul Onuachu, who within seconds had pinched the ball from Nyoni but could not take advantage of the break.

The striker, dubbed Tall Paul, should have grabbed a leveller when meeting Kamaldeen Sulemana’s cross, but miss-hit and wasted the opportunity.

The hosts rained long throws and corners into their box and had a huge injury time penalty shout waved away as Quansah dragged down Fernandes.

Liverpool were now the ones looking ropey, but just about managed to hang on.

Puzzling text sent by missing Madalina Cojocari’s mom as she demanded cash for playdates before daughter’s disappearance

BIZARRE texts sent by the mom of missing child Madalina Cojocari shortly before her daughter’s disappearance have added a further twist to the already sinuous story.

Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, reportedly demanded cash from Madalina’s friends in return for playdates, according to someone who knew her well.

Cornelius Police Department

Cojocari family friend Leanne Stefan said her granddaughter played with Madalina for almost three years before her disappearance.

Madalina, an 11-year-old schoolgirl, vanished from her home in Cornelius, North Carolina, two years ago.

She was last seen getting off a school bus outside her home in November 2022.

The Cornelius Police Department gave an update last month on the occasion of the second anniversary of Madalina’s disappearance.

Following her disappearance, both Madalina’s mother and her stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, were charged with failing to report her missing.

Both have denied the charges against them, and the case remains unsolved.

In September 2024, cops confirmed Diana had left the US and returned to her native Moldova after being released from jail.

Palmiter remains on probation.

In a fresh insight into the case, Leanne Stefan spoke about her interactions with Madalina and her mother before her disappearance.

Leanne’s granddaughter played with Madalina at least once a week when the two girls were between the ages of 8 and 10.

The pair met at school and lived down the street from each other.

Leanne visited Madalina’s house several times to drop off and pick up her granddaughter, describing the house as full of toys and doll houses.

“Never once did I suspect anything,” she told local CBS affiliate WBTV.

But there was one odd characteristic about Madalina’s family that made her suspicious.

Timeline of Madalina Cojocari's disappearance

Madalina, 13, has been missing since November 2022, when her school grew worried that she hadn't shown up for class. Her parents waited to report her missing for 21 days and they were eventually arrested.

  • November 21, 2022 – Madalina, then 11 years old, is seen in surveillance footage getting off her school bus in her last confirmed sighting.
  • November 23, 2022 – The day Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, claims she last saw her daughter. She said she put her to bed and she vanished the next morning.
  • November 26, 2022 – Diana confronts her husband, Chris Palmiter, when he returns from an out-of-town trip and asks if he knows where Madalina was. Both parents say they hadn’t seen her.
  • December 2, 2022 – Diana tells someone in a text message that she is with Madalina.
  • December 12, 2022 – A counselor from Bailey Middle School visits the Cojocari household after Madalina didn’t show up for class since November 21. No one answers the door.
  • December 15, 2022 – Diana comes to the school without Madalina and tells officials her daughter has been missing since November 23. This is 21 days after she allegedly last saw her daughter.
  • December 17, 2022 – Madalina’s mom and stepdad Chris Palmiter are arrested on Failure to Report a Child Disappearance charges.
  • May 21, 2024 – Diana is released from jail after changing her plea to guilty.
  • May 24, 2024 – The trial for Chris Palmiter begins.
  • May 31, 2024 – Palmiter was found guilty of failing to report Madalina missing.
  • June 25, 2024 – Diana Cojocari has been named a suspect in Madalina’s disappearance.

Leanne’s granddaughter was allowed to go over to Madalina’s house for playdates, but Madalina could never visit her house.

She said Diana told her she didn’t “trust” the situation, adding that she seemed “very protective.”

Leanne chalked it up to the parents being “overly cautious” but said that they seemed like the perfect family otherwise.

But almost three years into the girls’ friendship, Diana brought things to a sudden halt.

Leanne received a text from Diana accusing her of taking advantage of the couple.

She said the text “said something along the lines of, ‘I feel like you’re taking advantage of me because you don’t pay me.'”

Leanne thought there must be a misunderstanding. So when she went to Diana’s house to pick up her granddaughter, she spoke to her face-to-face.

“I said, ‘Diana, you know… we don’t need you as a babysitter. I thought the girls were just playing.'”

But Diana responded that Leanne was “‘taking advantage of me because I’m from another country,'” she said.

Leanne was left with the heartwrenching task of explaining to her stepdaughter why she couldn’t play with her friend anymore.

They have since moved out of the neighborhood, but Leanne says her stepdaughter still asks her about Madalina sometimes.

A $25,000 reward is still being offered for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction in connection with the disappearance.

The Cornelius Police Department did not respond immediately to The U.S. Sun’s requests for comment.

Americans urged to check if they’re owed cash as $20 billion in uncashed paychecks and refunds is up for grabs

MORE than $20 billion in uncashed paychecks and refunds are waiting to be claimed by unknowing Americans.

Americans are sitting on billions in unclaimed property from uncashed checks from corporations, financial institutions, banks, and insurance companies, among other sources.

Americans can visit six websites to check if they are owed any money
Getty Images - Getty

One in seven Americans are owed money through an uncashed paycheck, refund, or deposit, according to the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administration (NAUPA).

The NAUPA recommends that Americans review their annual update or six other websites.

MISSING MONEY

One website, Missingmoney.org, which is endorsed by the NAUPA, commits to effectively directing unclaimed money to its rightful owners.

It uses a “multi-state database platform” to search and claim forgotten funds.

The website states the average claim value is $2,080.

Americans who believe they may be owed or are missing money can visit Missing Money’s website or unclaimed.org.

Next, if it is determined they are owed money, users must submit a free claim through the platform.

Finally, if accepted, the user must connect to the state to securely transfer the funds.

BUREAU OF THE FISCAL SERVICE

Another website to visit to find unclaimed money is the US Department of Treasury.

However, the federal agency underscored that it maintains its records and has no government-wide centralized database on unclaimed government assets.

TREASURY DIRECT

In 2000, the Department of the Treasury launched Treasury Hunt, a website where users could search for “matured, uncashed savings bonds.”

The bonds must be over 30 years old and no longer earn interest.

IRS REFUND

Those looking for information on a missing federal tax refund can visit the IRS Refunds page.

Users need a social security or taxpayer ID number, filing status, and the exact refund amount on the return in question to search for the funds.

WORKERS OWED WAGES

The Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has a program that conducts investigations that recover wages owed to employees.

Users can search on the department’s website to see if there is unpaid money in their name.

If users are owed money, they must file a claim through the platform to retrieve them.

US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING

Finally, the US Department of Housing established the HUD Refunds program to allow users to check their eligibility for a refund from the Department of Housing and Urban Development or the Federal Housing Association.
