League One stadium hosting European football for first time in history THIS WEEK with tickets on sale for just £16

A LEAGUE ONE stadium is set to host European football for the first time.

The decision was agreed by Uefa despite the 9,875-capacity ground never hosting football at higher than third tier level in England.

Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground was unavailable to host the fixtures[/caption]

In fact, the club that own the ground have never been in the top flight before.

However, Welsh side The New Saints were forced to make contingency plans following their shock run to qualify for the Conference League.

Despite being from Wales, TNS already play their home games in England – however their 3,000-capacity Park Hall ground in Oswestry, Shropshire, was deemed too small to host European group games by Uefa.

As a Welsh club, TNS’ preference was to host games in Wales – and their first port of call was Hollywood-owned Wrexham.

In 2005, when the team was still called Total Network Solutions, Wrexham hosted their Champions League qualifier with Liverpool.

However, the Racecourse Ground was not available to host the games on this occasion.

Chairman Mike Harris said back in August: “Places like Cardiff are three hours away from where we are, so our fans and stakeholders can’t really get there.

“It’s got to be somewhere more local.

“It’s [Shrewsbury’s Croud Meadow] a ground that fits Uefa criteria and it’s 20 minutes down the road from us, so it’s an option.

“Wrexham and Shrewsbury would be most ideal for us, but I’m not sure the Racecourse is available.

“So it’s our priority to get the games in a stadium that can cater for the games, but also giving the people around us a chance to go and watch.”

TNS take on Astana on Thursday evening at 8pm in their first ever European group stage home game.

Tickets are now on sale from £16 for adults.

In their opening game, they put up a brave fight away at last season’s finalists Fiorentina, who feature former Man Utd goalkeeper David de Gea in their side.

The Welsh champions held the Italians for over an hour before succumbing to a 2-0 defeat after goals from Yacine Adli and Moise Kean.

Their other four group games will be against Djurgarden and Panathinaikos at home and Shamrock Rovers and Celje away.

Jack Wilshere LEAVES Arsenal after two years to begin new senior coaching role at Norwich

JACK WILSHERE is leaving Arsenal to take up a first-team coaching role at Norwich City.

The 32-year-old will leave the club tomorrow to take his new role with the Championship club, according to The Athletic.

Wilshere has spent the last two years as Arsenal‘s U18s head coach after hanging up his boots in 2022.

The former Gunners midfielder will now join Johannes Hoff Thorup’s backroom team at Carrow Road in his first ever senior first-team role.

Wilshere will reportedly replace Narcis Pelach at the club, who left last month to take over at Stoke City.

While it’s also said that the opportunity is seen as a step that will significantly advance Wilshere’s coaching career despite his young age.

The move is understood to have been helped on by the former England international’s relationship with Norwich’s sporting director Ben Knapper.

Knapper previously worked as Arsenal’s loans manager during Wilshere’s time at the club.

Wilshere was forced to retire at the age of 30 after battling with injuries throughout his career.

After bursting on the scene at Arsenal as a teenage, Wilshere went on to have spells playing at West Ham, Bournemouth and Danish outfit Aarhus GF, before deciding his injuries had got the better of him.

It was that same summer that the former rising star began his role as head coach of the Gunners’ U18s.

During his first season as boss of the youth team he managed to guide the youngsters to the FA Youth Cup final, ultimately losing to West Ham.

While he also helped nurture talent such as Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Wilshere was previously linked with making a huge leap into senior management last year.

The Arsenal legend reportedly held talks with MLS side Colorado Rapids about becoming their head coach, but a switch never materialised.

Norwich currently sit seventh in the Championship, having won four, drawn four and lost two of their opening 10 clashes.

The Canaries face Preston North End tonight with the fixture coming too soon for Wilshere to take part in the preparations.

It’s likely that the former retired midfielder’s first game in the dugout will be this weekend’s clash with Middlesbrough instead.

Whilshere famously scored his greatest goal in an Arsenal shirt against Norwich in 2013.

The star combined with Olivier Giroud to net and wonderfully worked effort that won the BBC’s Premier League 2013/14 goal of the season.

Americans to get payment of up to $2,500 in line with $700k data breach settlement – just receipt is needed to get cash

AMERICANS could be in line to get their hands on a huge $2,500 payment and all they need is a receipt to land the cash.

A group of people have been encourage to check whether they are eligible for their slice of a $700,000 settlement.

Getty
Americans must act fast if they want to receive up to $2,500 following a data breach[/caption]

This has come after the healthcare group Henry Ford Health System settled claims against the company following a data breach on March 30, 2023, according to Top Class Actions.

The group, based in Michigan, has been accused of failing to protect patients from the breach in a patient class action lawsuit.

This legal action claimed Henry Ford Health System should have implemented better cybersecurity to protect people’s data.

The medical group agreed to resolve the lawsuit with a $700,000 pot of money.

Henry Ford Health System did not admit any wrongdoing in the case.

Names, contact information, and medical information of around 168,000 were allegedly compromised in the incident.

Who is eligible?

Affected customers have been notified that their data may have been compromised during the breach.

Henry Ford Health System has contacted these people by mail.

How much money can claimants receive?

Class members can get up to $2,500 to reimburse any damaged caused by the cyber security incident.

Claimants could also receive a pro rata cash payment and this amount will vary based on how many claims are filed.

How can people claim?

People seeking a reimbursement payment must file proof of damages.

This could include receipts, tax documents, and invoice.

Claimants looking to get the pro rata payment do not have to file proof.

All class action members must file a claim form on the settlement’s website.

The deadline for members to do this is October 28, 2024.

What's a class-action settlement?

Class action lawsuits offer groups of people, or 'classes,' a way to band together in court.

These suits are often brought by one or a few people who allege a company or other entity has wronged a large group of people.

When a suit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar complaints to those who filed the suit.

Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue further legal action by accepting money.

These payout agreements frequently include statements by the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.

Pollution, discrimination, or false advertising are a few examples of what can land a class action on a company’s doorstep.

Major Chris Godwin update as Tampa Bay Buccaneers star is rushed to hospital after horror leg injury vs Ravens

CHRIS GODWIN was rushed to hospital on Monday Night Football after a horror leg injury.

The wide receiver made a catch and run with just one minute left of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against Baltimore Ravens game.

Godwin and quarterback Baker Mayfield share an emotional moment on the field[/caption]

As he was tackled by Ravens star Roquan Smith, his leg got caught up his rival’s weight.

That led to a terrifying looking injury, and he lay down on the field, stricken in agony.

Medics rushed on to give the 28-year-old attention, which caused the game to stop.

His leg was put into an air cast and he was carted off the field at the Raymond James Stadium.

Godwin was rushed to a local hospital, where he was evaluated by doctors.

And Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles has announced he fears the WR has suffered a dislocated ankle.

This would all but keep him out indefinably, and more than likely, for the rest of the 2024-25 NFL season.

It would also mean Godwin would need to have surgery.

“It doesn’t look good,” said Bowles.

The Bucs went on to lose the game 41-31, to make matter worse.

The injury came with them still ten points down, and many wondering why Bowles hadn’t pulled his starters.

The Tampa players were visibly stunned by the accident, with many down on one knee.

And ESPN refused to show replays of the incident, cutting to commercial break instead.

When it returned to the live TV broadcast, Godwin was on the cart with his leg strapped.

NFL head coach annual salaries

1. Andy Reid - Chiefs - $20 million

2. Sean Payton – Broncos – $18 million

=3. Mike Tomlin – Steelers – $16 million

=3. Jim Harbaugh – Chargers – $16 million

5. Sean McVay – Rams – $15 million

6. Kyle Shanahan – 49ers – $14 million

7. John Harbaugh – Ravens – $12 million

=8. Dan Campbell – Lions – $11 million

=8. Sean McDermott – Bills – $11 million

10. Mike MacDonald – Seahawks – $10 million

Quarterback Baker Mayfield was spotted slamming his helmet down in frustration.

He went over to console his teammate, in an emotional embrace of support.

And it was a injury-plagued night for the Buccaneers, with Mike Evans also going down.

The superstar wideout is feared to have suffered a hamstring problem in the Week 7 clash.

That could mean the 31-year-old missing a number of weeks of the season.

The Bucs still have WR’s rookie Jalen McMillan and behind him Trey Palmer and Sterling Shepard.

Rakim Jarrett and Kameron Johnson are both already on injured reserve.

Why did Twitch ban Frogan aka Morgan? Controversial comments on US military spark outrage

A POPULAR streamer has sparked outrage over controversial comments on the US military.

Morgan, also known as Frogan, has now been banned from the streaming platform, Twitch. Here’s what we know.

Instagram / @fr0gan
Twitch streamer Frogan has been banned from the platform[/caption]

Who is Morgan aka Frogan?

Morgan is a Twitch streamer who is popular for playing horror and hunt games.

The Canadian gamer became a Twitch Affiliate in April 2020 and a Twitch Partner in April 2021.

Her Twitch profile described her as a “27-year-old public health expert” who works as an “advocate by the day and self-proclaimed gamer by the night”.

She is a partner with famous brands like Crytek, Huntthegame, Madrinas, and phasmophobiaofficial.

Why was Morgan banned from Twitch?

Morgan was recently put under a 30-day ban by Twitch after she made a controversial comment on the US military.

According to a clip from the stream going viral on X/Twotter, she said in a live stream: “I will never have any f***ing pity for any f***ing soldiers.

“US military? Boo, f***ing who. I hope you get PTSD.”

The gamer also said that those in the military who acknowledge the alleged mistakes should not get PTSD.

“The US military that are like yeah, you know I did this back then but now I know it’s wrong like I am changed, f**k imperialism, f**k this, you don’t deserve the PTSD,” she added.

Forgan’s harsh and disrespectful comments quickly sparked a massive backlash and many Twitch users began to slam her for her words.

One user said: “She disrespected the troops those that put their lives on the line every day she deserved the ban.”

Another person said: “Good she should’ve never disrespected the us soldiers that risk their life every day for us to be free.”

A third person commented: “I mean she deserves this ban for 30 days because she’s an evil person.”

After being denounced for her remarks, Frogan issued a public apology on X/Twitter.

Instagram / @fr0gan
Frogan has since apologized[/caption]

She wrote in the apology: “I go onto clarify in the clip that I do not mean “all” military, but specifically those with no remorse. What I said was out of frustration as they are currently bombing my family in the name of ‘liberation’.

“I realize that wishing people harm isn’t the best way to talk about these issues and that i could have talked about these topics in a more sensitive way.”

Is there more to the Frogan Twitch controversy?

While Morgan did apologize for her harsh remarks, she claimed the actual reason behind her ban was a “targeted hateful comment” that was viewed as anti-semitic.

The streamer allegedly slammed a Twitch tier list titled Loves Sabra, which refers to a brand that produces Middle-Eastern food products.

“People like bottom-of-the-barrel Hummus”, Morgan allegedly said during a live stream.

Can you see this hidden chick?[/caption]

The cryptic image shows several outlines of friendly-looking sheep, all jumping in various directions.

Some of the sheep are jumping over fences, whilst some sit on them or on the grass.

The crowded field full of the woolly creatures makes it difficult to spot the chick hidden.

The hand-drawn flowers on the ground, as well as bits of grass and butterflies make it harder to see clear space to spot the chick.

It may sound tough, but the key is to look for the differences in the outlines of the sheep.

Be quick, the clock is ticking!

This challenge tests more than your IQ – finding the hidden chick suggests a keen attention to detail and your eyesight.

People who are able to solve the puzzle quickly possess good observational skills and high cognitive speed.

It tests your ability to process a high volume of visual information and the ability to concentrate under high amounts of pressure.

Psychologists at The University of Glasgow found that staring at an optical illusion can improve eye sight by allowing you to see small print.

Escape London says puzzles can also give your mind a great workout and may “boost your brain’s activity” which “reduces the risk of dementia.”

Have you solved it? Don’t worry, if you’re still struggling we’ve included the solution to the brainteaser down below.

While you’re still here, why not scroll and try out some other brain teasers?

How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?

Head-to-toe graphic reveals all the little-known ways ‘Ozempic-style’ fat jabs can boost your health

WEIGHT-LOSS jabs are the most talked about drugs of the moment.

And with new studies popping up almost every week revealing more benefits of these powerful medicines, it’s no wonder appetite is high.

The new fat-shedding jabs can help people drop up to a fifth of their body weight, plus, they lower the risk of diabetes and heart disease – just to name a few.

The drug, which has been branded a ‘miracle’ by some works by mimicking GLP-1, a hormone released in the body when you are full.

It has several effects, including slowing down stomach emptying, acting on the brain to reduce appetite and boosting insulin, which helps to regulate blood sugar levels.

For more than a decade, these GLP-1 drugs have been used to help people with type 2 diabetes, which is associated with chronic inflammation, and eye and nerve damage if not managed properly.

Inflammation is a natural part of the body’s defences, but too much can increase the risk of cancer, heart disease and various skin conditions.

More recently, the jabs have started to be prescribed for weight loss in people without type 2 diabetes.

Ozempic and Wegovy are brand names for the drugs that contain the hormone-mimicking semaglutide.

The UK has approved Wegovy for weight loss in people who are obese or overweight and Ozempic for people with type 2 diabetes.

Praise from celebs like Stephen Fry – including their wild before and after pics – has since brought the medicine widespread attention.

Meanwhile, just last week, health secretary Wes Streeting announced unemployed Brits could be given free weight-loss jabs as part of a new drive to get people back to work.

Wes admitted that “widening waistbands” are putting a huge strain on the NHS.

But he said that fat jabs could provide a two-pronged solution, both easing pressure on the ailing health service and encouraging the unemployed back into work.

But away from weight loss, here are all the other benefits scientists are claiming the jabs might have.

It could slash the risk of cancer…

Fat jabs could be the cancer hope everyone has been waiting for after scientists found they reduced the risk of tumours growing.

Experts at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio found obese people were 19 per cent less likely to get cancer if they used the injections than people who did not.

Another study by the same university analysed 1.2million people with type 2 diabetes and found their bowel cancer risk was halved if they used the GLP-1 drugs compared to only insulin.

Other findings also suggest the injections’ rapid weight loss could help breast cancer survivors avoid relapse, which is more likely in fat patients.

Experts suggest about four in 10 cancers are linked to obesity, particularly bowel and breast tumours which are some of the most common.

Reduces risk of heart disease…

The skinny jab could also cut your risk of heart disease, according to researchers.

Being a healthy weight can slash your risk of developing heart and circulatory diseases like heart attacks, strokes and vascular dementia.

That’s because carrying excess weight can lead to fatty substances building up in your arteries, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) warns.

If an artery’s job is to carry blood to the heart and get clogged, it can lead to high blood pressure, which can trigger a heart attack.

A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that taking the drug can lead to a smaller waistline and lower blood pressure.

And if the same thing happens in an artery carrying blood to the brain, this can cause a stroke.

So, perhaps it is hardly surprising that injections that can help you lose weight might also reduce your risk of cardiovascular problems.

One study found getting 2.4mg injections of semaglutide like Wegovy a week could reduce the risk of ‘major adverse cardiovascular events’ by 20 per cent.

That’s according to research conducted by the drugs maker Novo Nordisk, which makes Wegovy.

It can boost your lung health…

A growing body of evidence suggests the jabs can help people better fend off serious lung disease.

While the drug does not stop people from picking up infections, it does reduce your chances of getting seriously sick.

A study, published in the Journal of American College of Cardiology in 2024, found that among those who had Covid, those who were also taking semaglutide were less likely to die.

Seperate evidence, published in Healio, found the drug can even help control asthma and reduce asthma attacks.

It might improve your mental health…

The weight loss jabs might not only improve your physical health but your mental health too.

Earlier this year, an analysis of more than 4million people by medical records company Epic found GLP-1 medications resulted in a lower likelihood of depression and anxiety compared with people not on the drugs.

For instance, people without diabetes taking semaglutide were 37 per cent less likely to be diagnosed with depression, and 31 per cent less likely to be diagnosed with anxiety

Improved blood sugar control or weight loss might explain these mental health benefits. There is a well-established link between obesity and depression.

However, some researchers such as Rodrigo Mansur at the University of Toronto, Canada, think there might be more to it.

After all, GLP-1s aren’t only produced in the gut – they are also made in the brain.

To test this, Rodrigo ran a small study in 2017, giving weight loss jabs to 19 people who wasn’t necessarily overweight, but had major depressive disorder or bipolar disorder.

Within a month, they reported better mood, attention span and cognitive function.

The participants didn’t lose any significant weight, suggesting they weren’t feeling better simply because they were slimmer, the expert said.

It might slow down ageing…

People who take weight-loss injections might even live longer.

Some trials are happening now which are looking into whether drugs such as semaglutide can slow the ageing process down.

Published in JACC, the flagship journal of the American College of Cardiology, the newest research shows semaglutide could have “far-reaching benefits beyond what we initially imagined”.

That’s according to Professor Harlan M Krumholz from the Yale School of Medicine, who is quoted in multiple reports as saying: “Is it a fountain of youth?”

The researchers found participants who took semaglutide died at a lower rate from all causes, as well as from cardiovascular causes and Covid-19.

The drug was also found to improve heart failure symptoms.

Users have been sharing their experiences of side effects dubbed ‘Ozempic face‘ – a term used to describe the wrinkled and sagging skin due to swift weight loss.

It might help people give up drugs, cigarettes or booze…

Getty
Fat jabs could also reduce nicotine and cocaine addictions[/caption]

Weight loss jabs can crush drug cravings just like they stop people needing to eat.

The jabs are known to promote feelings of fullness and, it seems, dampen the reward centre associated not only with food but also drugs.

A Penn University study found liraglutide, a fat jab which uses a different hormone, was as good as a fortnight in rehab for people addicted to painkillers.

Tests on 20 people recovering from opioid addictions revealed patients who took the jabs once a day rated cravings 40 per cent lower than those having rehab.

While some patients experienced no cravings at all.

Earlier studies on rodents suggested the treatment could also work for nicotine and cocaine addiction.

Other scientists are looking into its effects on alcohol addiction.

The idea came about after people given GLP-1 drugs for diabetes reported reductions in their booze consumption.

It could cure snoring…

Scientists say the fat-blasting jabs can silence snoring by treating an underlying health condition called sleep apnoea.

It occurs when your breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, causing you to gasp, snore, and wake up spluttering throughout the night.”

Around 10million Brits are thought to have it, according to the Sleep Apnoea Trust.

Being overweight or obese can increase a person’s risk of the condition by narrowing the airways.

After conducting two studies on adults with obesity and sleep apnoea, drug maker Eli Lilly claimed its fat jab Mounjaro could cut down the number of times people had breathing issues during the night.

At the same time, those taking the weight loss drug also shed about 18 per cent of their body weight, which the pharma giant has said could be directly behind the reduction in nighttime disturbances.

It could boost fertility…

a pregnant woman in a grey dress holds her belly
Women have been warned that anti-obesity jabs may make them more fertile

Some US physicians have started prescribing fat jabs off-label to treat polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), one of the leading causes of infertility in women.

Jab users have since taken to online forums with hundreds of members sharing how they got pregnant what they’ve dubbed as ‘Ozempic babies‘ thanks to the injections.

Previously, specialists have suggested slimming down may boost fertility, which is why semaglutide is being linked to pregnancies.

Fat cells produce oestrogen which can hurt fertility, stopping regular menstruation and ovulation.

Therefore by losing just a few pounds, levels of the hormone could be lowered.

The risk of infertility is three-fold higher in obese women than in non-obese ones, research shows.

The effect may be particularly marked for women with PCOS.

A study involving 27 obese patients diagnosed with PCOS found that after six months of taking semaglutide, they lost an average of 25lbs (11.5kg) and had more regular periods, suggesting their PCOS was improving.

The condition causes cysts to develop on the ovaries, leading to wide-ranging hormonal symptoms and weight gain.

Women with PCOS often struggle to conceive naturally.

However, British scientists have recently warned these jabs could cause birth defects and should not be taken within two months of trying to conceive.

It could keep your memory in good shape…

Weight loss jabs could also do wonders for your brain, research shows.

A new study, from Imperial College London found one of the injections reduced brain shrinkage and slowed memory loss.

In a trial on 204 UK patients with early-stage Alzheimer’s, half were given liraglutide, also known as Saxenda, and half received a placebo.

After a year, the weight jab patients had an 18 per cent slower decline in their brain function compared to the untreated patients.

MRI scans showed they also lost 50 per cent less brain tissue.

Authors said it is likely the drug reduces inflammation in the brain which is known to increase the risk of dementia.

It might treat fatty liver and kidney disease…

The magic jabs might also protect against other serious diseases, including kidney disease.

Research on more than 3,500 people that was followed up for more than three years found the injections appear to have a “profound clinical impact” on a host of common diseases.

Clear links between obesity and kidney disease have long been established, with excess weight found to double the chance of kidney stones and increase the risk of chronic kidney disease.

About one in 10 people in the UK suffer from chronic kidney disease, with risk rising with age.

It can require kidney replacement and prove deadly.

Scientists presenting the results at the ERA (European Renal Association) Congress in Stockholm this year, said participants on the jabs saw a 24 per cent fall in their risk of kidney problems.

Meanwhile, researchers believe the drug could also help treat fatty liver disease.

The cancer-causing disease is most commonly seen in individuals who are overweight or obese, and, or have type 2 diabetes.

Fatty liver disease, as the name suggests, refers to an increased build-up of fat inside the liver.

There are currently no medicines to specifically treat the condition – but experts believe fat jabs might be the answer.

Scientists are still examining the effectiveness of semaglutide for the condition, but in recent years, some studies have found promising results.

In a 2023 research review, scientists from India found that 24 weeks of semaglutide significantly improved liver health of people with fatty liver disease.

Zepbound shows promise as a treatment for fatty liver disease, according to its manufacturer Eli Lilly.

Mid-stage trials found almost three quarters of patients with the condition eradicated it after 52 weeks of taking the drug, compared to just 13 per cent of people taking a placebo.

Everything you need to know about fat jabs

Weight loss jabs are a hot media topic at the moment, with hundreds of success stories from people who shed the pounds.

In March 2023, the NHS announced it would make Wegovy, a drug made by Danish firm Novo Nordisk, available on prescription to thousands of obese Brits.

It contains the drug semaglutide, which is said to have helped reality star Kim Kardashian and Twitter boss Elon Musk lose weight.

Wegovy, which helped a third of people reduce their weight by 20 per cent in trials, is now available from pharmacies like Boots.

How do they work?

The jabs work by suppressing your appetite, making you eat less and therefore lose weight.

To do this, semaglutide mimics the role of a natural hormone, called GLP-1.

GLP-1 is part of the signalling pathway that tells your body you have eaten, and prepares it to use the energy that comes from your food.

London GP and founder of wellgoodwellbeing.com, Dr Zoe Watson, said: “Your body naturally produces an appetite regulating hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1.

“These jabs work by regulating your appetite, which can lead to eating fewer calories and losing weight.”

Aren’t they diabetes drugs?

Semaglutide, the active drug in Wegovy, was originally sold under the name Ozempic specifically for diabetes patients.

But people started noticing it helped suppress their appetites, stopping them eating as much and helping them shed the pounds.

Novo Nordisk then developed Wegovy, which contains the same chemical but at higher doses specifically to aid weight loss.

Wegovy is not prescribed for diabetes patients.

Can I get them?

Wegovy is offered on prescription to obese adults given specialist weight loss treatment.

The NHS currently also offers a similar drug called Saxenda, or liraglutide.

Both are only available throught specialist weight management services, which means you have to be referred to clinics led by experts.

GPs can’t prescribe them on their own, Dr Watson said.

The jabs have to be taken as part of an overall programme to help with lifestyle changes and psychological support to get the best effect from the medication prescribed.

Are there any risks?

Like all medicines, the jabs do not come without side effects.

Around half of people taking the drug experience gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea.

Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical consultant at patient.info, said: “One of the more uncommon side effects is severe acute pancreatitis, which is extremely painful and happens to one in 500 people.”

Other uncommon side effects include altered taste, kidney problems, allergic reactions, gallbladder problems and hypoglycemia.

What other options are there?

Mounjaro (brand name for tirzepatide) also came onto the market in early 2024.

Like Wegovy, tirzepatide stems from a drug originally designed to treat diabetes.

The weekly injection helped overweight people drop more than two stone in 18 months.

It is available with to order with a prescription online from pharmacies including Superdrug and LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor.

It works in a similar way to Wegovy and Saxenda, but is more effective.

Dr Mitra Dutt from LloydsPharmacy says: “Based on clinical trials, 96 per cent of people were able to lose more than five per cent of their body fat using Mounjaro. In similar trials, 84 per cent of people lost more than five per cent of their body weight on Wegovy, and 60 per cent on Saxenda.

Last chance to see Orionid meteor shower at its brightest – with dozens of shooting stars every hour

TONIGHT will be the last chance to catch the Orionids meteor shower at its biggest and brightest, with dozens of shooting stars every hour.

Experts at the Royal Museums Greenwich say the annual Orionid meteor shower is usually the most reliable around.

According to Nasa, it’s one of the most beautiful meteor showers of the year too.

The Orionids are expected to peak from the early hours of Monday (October 21).

Although, experts say stargazers should be able to catch the shower for several days either side of this maximum date.

But it’s best not to leave it too late to look, otherwise the meteors might be too faint to see.

The Orionid meteor shower is associated with Comet Halley, and produces bright shooting stars.

Some 25 shooting stars are expected to flash through the sky every hour.

They are particularly fast, too, capable of travelling at around 148,000 mph.

October has been a busy month on the celestial calendar.

We only recently got to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime comet that swings by Earth every 80,000 years.

However, we have just recently had a big, bright Hunter’s supermoon – which could pose a problem when trying to see the Orionids.

Tonight will be a bright waning gibbous Moon, high in the sky, which may cast some glare onto the sky.

If you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse, they should be visible across the UK and the US – weather permitting.

Fear not though, as there are more meteor showers due to happen for the rest of 2024.

Wait until December and there’s a huge Ursids meteor shower just before Christmas.

At its peak, we’re expecting a whooping 150 shooting stars per hour.

What's the difference between an asteroid, meteor and comet?

Here's what you need to know, according to Nasa...

  • Asteroid: An asteroid is a small rocky body that orbits the Sun. Most are found in the asteroid belt (between Mars and Jupiter) but they can be found anywhere (including in a path that can impact Earth)
  • Meteoroid: When two asteroids hit each other, the small chunks that break off are called meteoroids
  • Meteor: If a meteoroid enters the Earth’s atmosphere, it begins to vapourise and then becomes a meteor. On Earth, it’ll look like a streak of light in the sky, because the rock is burning up
  • Meteorite: If a meteoroid doesn’t vapourise completely and survives the trip through Earth’s atmosphere, it can land on the Earth. At that point, it becomes a meteorite
  • Comet: Like asteroids, a comet orbits the Sun. However rather than being made mostly of rock, a comet contains lots of ice and gas, which can result in amazing tails forming behind them (thanks to the ice and dust vaporizing)

This shocking incident left three people injured.

The horrifying video showed the moment the leopard pounced out of the trees in a park on 20 October.

This predator jumped on its first victim, reportedly named Akash Kushwaha, 23, as one man was seen falling to the ground, according to the Times of India.

As this man was mauled, another person was seen running away from the leopard and the fallen man.

A group of around four men then rushed back to help the injured victim.

The video abruptly ended after the leopard moved away from the park-goers.

An off-duty police officer and a woman were also attacked by the predator, according to local media.

These two victims reportedly sustained major head injuries in the incident, per the Times of India.

Before the attack, the group was heard calling out to the animal as they shouted “come, come.”

Their laughter turned into horrifying screams as the predator pounced out of the trees and at the group.

Other members of the crowd sustained minor injuries during the mad rush away from the animal.

This horrifying video has not been the only animal attack to recently be caught on camera.

A 23-year-old man, Takuma Goto, believed he was “going to die” after he was assaulted by a dolphin.

Goto was the latest victim of Japan’s recent sex-pest dolphin issue.

The victim sustained major bite marks across his body.

Goto had to be hospitalised and received five stitched after he suffered a bloody cut to his finger.

This comes as experts revealed several of these attacks have been linked back to dolphin named Suzu.

Suzu has been blamed for 18 incidents this year and has been known to chase visitors in the water in the hunt for love.

Another shocking video showed the moment a group of vengeful tourists took on a shark after it mauled a tourist.

The cruel shark hunters repeatedly hit the shark on the head after a visitor was left with huge wounds to his torso and right leg in resort town of Tela in Honduras, Central America.

American Airlines tests new boarding system with ‘alarm’ to make sure passengers follow rule

AMERICAN Airlines is trying out a new boarding system that could be a feature at US airports in the future.

The new initiative cracks down on eager passengers who try to get on the plane before their seat numbers and sections are called.

Those who scan their boarding passes too early will be met with an alarm, as reported by Travel and Leisure.

Then, they must wait until terminal staffers tell them it’s time to board the plane.

So far, the concept is being trialed at Albuquerque International Airport in New Mexico and Tucson Airport in Arizona.

One passenger flying out of Albuquerque said some travelers tried to board the plane early but were met with an error sound, according to a Reddit post.

They said the gate agent ordered them to “step aside” as they weren’t due to board.

The program will be tested at Ronald Reagan Washington Airport in Arlington, Virginia.

But airline chiefs hope to expand the program in the future.

And bosses are optimistic about the impact this new system will have on travelers.

“The new technology is designed to ensure customers receive the benefits of priority boarding with ease and helps improve the boarding experience by providing greater visibility into boarding progress for our team,” a spokesperson told Travel and Leisure.

The new system has been welcomed by travelers online, with some saying it is “overdue.”

Others pointed out that the only passengers who will have a problem with it are those who try to board flights early.

Travelers have now called on airline carriers to crack down on those who put several items in the overhead lockers.

The U.S. Sun has approached American Airlines for comment.

BOARDING CHANGES

American Airlines is not the only company making changes to its boarding process.

Delta bosses have rolled out a new boarding system based on zones numbered one to eight.

First-class passengers are in Zone 1, while Delta Comfort travelers board in Zone 3.

Basic economy passengers are the last to board the plane, according to a chart released by the company.

A spokesperson said the change was designed to make the process more streamlined.

But, experts have questioned the purpose of the new system.

“They’re not changing who boards when or the sequence,” Professor John Milne told CBS News.

Southwest Airlines bosses hit the headlines when they announced the company would be ending its open-seat boarding policy.

Chiefs admitted that 80% of passengers prefer an assigned seat.
