SPOTTING the numbers in this brainteaser is easy, but can you outsmart everyone and find the odd one out?
Time to put your vision skills and IQ to the test and crack this tricky brainteaser in just seven seconds or less.
Spot the odd number in this illusion[/caption]
The image above is known as an optical illusion, meaning there could be other not-so obvious elements to be found.
The challenge here is to spot the odd number that’s perfectly blended into the scene.
Everyone can quickly see the 56’s everywhere up against the yellow background.
But only those with 20/20 vision and a high IQ can solve this mind-bending puzzle.
Are you able to find where the odd number is or will you be left scratching your head?
It might seem a bit daunting at first, but the key is to carefully examine each section of the image.
You might wish to start from the top left corner of the image and work your way down, or maybe do the complete opposite – whatever gives you more confidence!
Another useful tactic is picking an element of the picture and analyse what’s around it – and what may be different.
Brainteasers are purposefully designed to trick our vision and can be used as simple determiners of intelligence.
How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?
Engaging in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.
Some benefits include:
Cognitive stimulation: Engaging in these activities challenges the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

RAPPER Yung Filly’s friend Chunkz has spoken out about the rape charges facing his former collaborator – who is stuck in Australia pending a police probe.
The rapper, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested last week and charged with three counts of sexual assault.
He was also charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent and one count of impeding a person’s breathing or circulation by applying pressure to the neck.
YouTube personality Chunkz, real name Amin Mohamed, worked with him on several songs and comedic videos over the years.
Chunkz, 28, shared a video on Instagram, breaking his silence on the shocking allegations.
“Like everyone I’ve heard the reports coming out of Australia,” he said.
“While I understand many of you want my reaction on it, as this is an ongoing court case I hope you guys understand that I can’t and won’t be commenting on it publicly, so yeah I’ve just come on here to basically let you know the reasons as to why I can’t. Love.”
Filly was rapidly dropped by several brands and companies including FootAsylum, the Football Association (FA), Heinz and ASOS, after news of his arrest broke.
Filly’s defence lawyer argued the victim was drunk at the time of the alleged ordeal on September 28, according to Channel 9.
Cops allege that Filly – who was born in Colombia but moved to the UK as a refugee when he was a child – raped her in his hotel.
The rapper was first arrested on Tuesday in Brisbane and transferred to Perth the next day.
He appeared in court where the prosecution said his alleged victim’s body is marked “by a history of violent acts”.
Filly was bailed following his first court hearing after stumping up $100,000AUD (£51,000) for bail.
He is banned from leaving the state and must also report to Perth Police Station in Northbridge regularly.
A downcast Filly was seen reporting there for the first time on Saturday, dodging cameras as he made his way in and back out.
He wore a dark baseball cap and a cream hooded jacket with black shorts and trainers as he jogged past reporters to enter the building.
Filly remained inside for just five minutes before leaving and once again refusing to speak to the journalists waiting outside.
He was seen again on Sunday in an all black outfit arriving at the same station.
Yung Filly is known for his comedic videos on YouTube where he shot to fame alongside fellow creators Beta Squad while also appearing in The Sidemen videos.
He then branched out to his own individual projects including podcasts, music and mainstream TV gigs.
He featured on Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off in 2022 and has previously fronted the BBC’s Hot Property.
Who is Yung Filly?
YUNG Filly’s rise to fame saw him start out as a social media star.
The influencer got his big break on YouTube before moving into mainstream TV.
Although he goes by Yung Filly, his real name is Andres Felipé Barrientos.
He was born on August 6, 1995, and moved to the UK from Colombia when he was two years old.
Filly then relocated to southeast London during his childhood.
When asked what it was like growing up in the capital, he told Indy100: “I come from the bottom of the barrel…and that’s why I’m so grateful for the position I’m in now.
“My mum definitely shaped me with the lessons she taught me.
“She’s a single mum with three kids, my dad was a s*** dad so she just had to make it happen.
“She did loads of cleaning jobs. My mum worked at Poundland at the time I had some mad BBC series…just getting my mum out of the position she was in was just the biggest motivation.”
Filly is best known for being a member of the comedy group known as The Wall of Comedy.
He is affiliated with fellow YouTuber Chunkz and the pair have collaborated on many videos and tracks.
Over the years, Filly has also taken part in The Sidemen‘s Charity Football Match, organised by members Josh Bradley, Simon Minter, Tobi Brown, KSI, Ethan Payne, Vikram Barn and Harry Lewis.

The former rugby union star’s divorce took place after the news that the BBC let him as well as co-stars Sue Barker and Phil Tuffnell go from A Question Of Sport.
The popular trio were shocked to learn they were being dropped from the show in a major revamp.
But things are now looking up for Dawson as he found a new girlfriend.
And that is none other than personal trainer and content creator Elizabeth Kerry.
Elizabeth has over 11,000 followers on Instagram alone and shares plenty of photos as well as videos of her workouts.
Her bio reads: “There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”
Dawson married ex-wife Carolin – a former model turned marketing manager – back in 2011.
However, they decided to take their relationship to a “new direction” in separate ways that would still see them co-parenting their children.
Dawson tweeted: “We know this will be a surprise to most but after 11 years together Carolin and I have decided our relationship needs a new direction, bringing our marriage to an end.
“The love for our beautiful boys grows stronger day by day as does our friendship as co-parents.
“To our dear friends please continue to support us as positively as you can for the next stage of our lives.
“It’s vital that Alex and Sami understand that we will always be a united family.”

CHINA has deployed a swarm of fighter jets and warships to encircle Taiwan in a “stern warning” to the island.
Beijing vowed “we are prepared for battle” as it launched a new round of war games around Taiwan on Monday – sealing off key ports as warplanes took to the skies.

Two Taiwanese fighter jets armed with missiles take to the skies amid China’s latest war games[/caption]
China said the latest drills were a warning shot to Taiwan’s “separatist” forces – and the president’s refusal to acknowledge the island as part of China.
State TV aired a chilling map showing nine areas around the island where drills are taking place – with Taiwan tracking 25 warplanes, seven warships and four Chinese government ships so far.
Beijing also deployed its Liaoning aircraft carrier – with nighttime footage showing a J-15 fighter jet taking off from the decks.
China views Taiwan as its own territory – and has not ruled out force to bring it under its control.
Taiwan blasted the latest exercises as “irrational and provocative” and dispatched “appropriate forces” in response – scrambling fighter jets armed with missiles.
The Joint Sword-2024B drills are taking place in the Taiwan Strait and areas to the north, south and east of Taiwan, China’s Eastern Theatre Command said.
It said the war games “serve as a stern warning to the separatist acts of Taiwan independence forces”.
And it claimed they were “a legitimate and necessary operation for safeguarding state sovereignty and national unity”.
China’s military published a map of the drills – two on the island’s east coast, three on the west coast, one to the north and three around Taiwan-controlled islands next to the Chinese coast.
Ships and aircraft are approaching Taiwan in “close proximity from different directions”, it said.
They are focusing on sea-air combat-readiness patrols, blockading key ports and areas, and attacking maritime and ground targets.
China’s Navy Senior Captain Li Xi said the navy, army air force, missile corps have all been mobilised.
“This is a major warning to those who back Taiwan independence and a signifier of our determination to safeguard our national sovereignty,” he said.
The US slammed China’s actions as “unwarranted” – and said they risk “escalation”.
And Taiwan’s Defense Ministry has deployed warships to designated spots in the ocean for surveillance – and “stand ready”.
It also deployed its mobile missile and radar groups on land to track the vessels.
The drills came four days after Taiwan celebrated the founding of its government on its National Day.
In a defiant speech, Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te said China has no right to represent the island – and vowed to resist annexation or invasion.
After the speech, China warned that Lai’s “provocations” would result in “disaster” for the people of Taiwan.
In a propaganda video, China showed a cartoon caricature of Lai with pointed ears like a devil and fighter jets and warships around the island.
The footage ends with an image of a fist turning into hammer – and a sword pointed at Taiwan.

China’s state broadcaster CCTV warned: “The greater the provocation, the tighter the reins.”
And fiercely nationalistic newspaper Global Times said on X: “There is only one China in the world!”
The PLA’s Liberation Army Daily newspaper also declared: “Those who play with fire get burned!”
Taiwan’s Defence Ministry said “all officers and soldiers of the country are in full readiness” in the “face of enemy threats”.
Taiwan’s presidential office said China should face up to the fact of the existence of the Republic of China – Taiwan’s formal name – and respect Taiwan’s choice.
It should “refrain from military provocations that would disrupt the status quo of peace and stability in the region, and threaten Taiwan’s democratic freedoms,” the office said.
In Washington, US President Joe Biden is monitoring the drills – and there was no justification for them after Lai’s “routine” speech.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said: “We call on the PRC to act with restraint and to avoid any further actions that may undermine peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and in the broader region.”
China’s foreign ministry hit back on said on Monday: “Taiwan is a part of China, and the Taiwan issue is China’s internal affair that brooks no foreign interference.”
The last war games took place in May when dozens of warplanes filled the skies above Taiwan.
The drills continued for more than 24 hours with 27 warships and 62 warplanes blockading the island.
China also held massive military exercises around Taiwan and simulated a blockade in 2022, after a visit to the island by Nancy Pelosi, who was then speaker of the US House.
China routinely states that Taiwan independence is a dead end and that annexation by Beijing is a “historical inevitability”.
Why does China want to invade Taiwan?
TAIWAN insists it is an independent nation after splitting from mainland China amid civil war in 1949.
But China claims Taiwan remains a part of its territory with which it must eventually be reunified – and has not ruled out the use of force to take the island and place it under Beijing’s control.
The island, which is roughly 100 miles from the coast of south-east China, sees itself as distinct from the Chinese mainland, with its own constitution and democratically-elected leaders.
Taiwan sits in the so-called “first island chain”, which includes a list of US-friendly territories that are crucial to Washington’s foreign policy in the region.
This also puts it in an ideal situation to slow a Chinese attack on the West.
And with tensions between the two nations high, Taiwan is likely to aid China’s enemy if it means keeping its independence.
Taiwan’s economy is another factor in China’s desperation to reclaim the land.
If China takes the island, it could be freer to project power in the western Pacific and rival the US, thanks to much of the world’s electronics being made in Taiwan.
This would allow Beijing to have control over an industry that drives the global economy.
China insists that its intentions are peaceful, but President Xi Jinping has also used threats towards the small island nation.
1 week agoUSA UpdateComments Off on Pokemon developer Game Freak reveals it was HACKED after reports of huge data leak exposing future games
POKEMON developer Game Freak has confirmed it was hacked, resulting in the leaked details of 2500 employees.
The breach, which occurred in August, has allegedly been linked to codenames for 10th generation Pokémon games and details about the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 console being leaked too.
The codename of the unannounced 10th generation Pokémon game is reportedly “Gaia”[/caption]
Nintendo has remained tight-lipped on the leak, with the company only confirming the existence of the Switch 2 in May this year[/caption]
In the statement, Game Freak apologised to those affected by the breach and stated that it has patched the vulnerability which allowed it to happen.
The codename of the unannounced 10th generation Pokémon game is reportedly “Gaia”.
While the codename of the announced Pokemon Legends: Z-A is apparently “Ikkaku”.
Jake Moore, Global Cybersecurity Advisor at ESET called the incident “one of the biggest hacks in gaming history”.
“There will be many people wanting to get their hands on this data making the aftermath that much more impactful and damaging,” he added.
“As the creators are behind Pokémon, one of the world’s best known brands, this data is likely to be accessed far and wide and could even become a cult entity of its own.
“The clean up operation is already two months behind due to only having located the breach now so it will be vital that Game Freak understand as much about the attack as possible and work with those whose data has been affected.”
Switch 2 details
Nintendo has remained tight-lipped on the leak, with the company only confirming the existence of the Switch 2 in May this year.
The Switch first hit shelves in 2017, and won the hearts of gaming fans across the globe – particularly during the pandemic.
Though sales have been firmly on the decline since 2021.
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa tweeted that the Switch’s successor, known by players as the Switch 2, is in development, and that more would be revealed before April 2025.
But the Game Freak leak has supposedly revealed the code name for Nintendo’s new console: “Ounce.”
The revelation supports earlier claims from popular leakers like Pyoro and Necrolipe.
One leaked phrase has also got fans thinking the Switch 2 could be released sometime in 2025 – a year pinpointed by president Shuntaro.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A has a vague 2025 release window, with Nintendo saying it’s coming to “Nintendo Switch systems.”
The plural “systems” has fans believing the game will be coming to both the Switch and Switch 2 – though Nintendo has not confirmed any details relating to the leak.
The Sun has contacted Nintendo for comment.
Switch 2: What we know so far
Last month, alleged prototype images of the Switch successor emerged online.
The pictures, uploaded online by an anonymous source, show a console that looks surprisingly similar to existing Switch models.
But one subtle different is that there is a USB-C charging port on both the top and bottom of the console.
This would allow for the system to be docked using the port at the bottom of the console, but the port at the top would allow for easier charging when in handheld mode.
The Switch 2 may also boast an 8-inch screen, pictures suggest, which is noticeably larger than the existing Switch’s 7-inch screen.
1 week agoUSA UpdateComments Off on I was Queen Elizabeth’s aide for 18 years – she had a driving habit that left all passengers ‘white-knuckled’
A WOMAN who worked as an aide of the late Queen Elizabeth II for almost two decades has revealed the driving habit that left passengers ”white-knuckled”.
Samantha Cohen – nicknamed ‘Samantha the Panther’ for her feisty attitude – used to be one of the Queen‘s most trusted aides before moving to work for Meghan and Harry.
Samantha quit her job with the Royal Household after the Duchess and Prince Harry’s first child was born[/caption]
The 56-year-old Australian joined the press office around 25 years ago, before being promoted to the royal’s communications secretary, and then landing a position as her assistant private secretary.
However, this wasn’t the first time Samantha saw the monarch in real life – she revealed she first saw the Queen during the head of state visit to Australia in 1977.
Samantha, who was a schoolgirl in Brisbane at the time, recalls being ”beyond excited” about the Silver Jubilee year and celebrations.
During her time working for the monarch, Samantha would earn the reputation as ”one of [her] most trusted aides and closest confidantes”.
Throughout the 18 years, Samantha saw the Queen almost every day and also did three Australian tours with her, in 2002, 2006 and 2011.
Reminiscing about her time working as an aide, the 56-year-old said their relationship was ”very professional” and that the monarch didn’t have any favourites.
Together with her family, hubby Richard Halle and their children (who are now 13, 16 and 19-years-old), Samantha would often relocate to wherever the Queen was – which included spending summers in Balmoral and Christmas in Norfolk at Sandringham, where they were given a cottage during their stay, and gifts complete with handwritten tags from the monarch.
Chatting with The Sunday Times, the former aide described the late royal as a ”shy” person who wanted to be ”a family woman” as well as the head of state.
Samantha – who then went onto training Meghan in royal etiquette -said she loved the privacy she enjoyed at Balmoral, as well as hosting everyone.
The late monarch was known for her love of cars, which included Land Rovers and Range Rovers, to name a few – and according to Samantha, she was ”gutsy” when it came to driving.
The mother-of-three explained that the Queen would ”drive her cars fast around Balmoral”.
Her passengers would reportedly be left ”white-knuckled”.
Another remarkable trait of the late Queen, Samantha noted, was that she had ”no ego”, and that despite being one of the most famous people in the world, she was ”the antithesis of celebrity”.
While she saw the royal at her happiest when she was off-duty, according to Samantha, she also enjoyed the Australian tours, finding them rather relaxing ”because there was less protocol”.
How did she end up working for the royals?
Reports suggest that while on a trip to London in 2001, Samantha rather fortuitously came across a job ad for a media minder at the Buckingham Palace press office.
She applied and landed the role, and has worked for the royal family ever since.
She quickly rose to the private office at the palace, and was the Assistant Private Secretary to The Queen from 2011 until 2018.
After Australians voted to keep Elizabeth as the head of state in 1999 (a narrow victory), the Queen gave a speech in which she spoke of how the decision was up to the citizens.
”I have always made it clear that the future of the monarchy in Australia is an issue for you, the Australian people, and you alone to decide by democratic and constitutional means.
”It should not be otherwise,” she said.
In May 2018, shortly after Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle, the Queen asked Samantha to work for the couple.
However, that didn’t last long, as she left the Royal Family in October 2019, after almost 20 years of working for the institution.
While Covid isn’t as prominent as it was this time last year, a new concerning variant has arrived, and cases have risen over the past few weeks.
Millions have already had the bug, and the majority of Brits also have protection due to the huge vaccine rollout. But it’s still circulating.
First detected in Germany in June, the XEC variant has now been reported in several countries – including the UK.
And now, it makes up one in 10 Covid cases in England and Wales.
As it stands, scientists believe the fresh bug is not likely to be as deadly as some of its predecessors, but it could be more contagious.
It comes as experts fear Brits may face a ‘tripledemic’ of bugs this winter, and the NHS rolls out a mass vaccine drive.
Meanwhile, the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) shows Covid-19 hospital admissions in England are continuing to rise.
The admission rate for patients testing positive for Covid-19 stood at 4.5 per 100,000 people in the week to October 6, up from 3.7 a week earlier.
It is the fourth weekly rise in a row.
“If you are showing symptoms of flu or Covid-19 such as a high temperature, cough, and feeling tired and achy, try to limit your contact with others, especially those who are vulnerable,” Dr Jamie Lopez Bernal, from the UKHSA.
With lateral flow tests no longer free, it can be hard to know which bug you have.
Here’s how to tell the difference.
XEC
We don’t know for sure what the specific XEC symptoms are just yet.
So far, the signs aren’t too dissimilar from what we’ve seen with earlier strains.
The loss of taste and smell – once a hallmark sign of the bug – is only reported by two to three per cent of infected Brits, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
If you are suffering from Covid, prioritise rest and hydration while using over-the-counter medications like paracetamol to relieve symptoms.
Which cold and flu remedies actually work?
Sun Health reporter Isabel Shaw put nine well-known cold and flu remedies when she was struck with a lurgy.
Over the course of a week, she tried products targeted at all symptoms associated with cold and flu, as well as treatments that only aimed to get rid of specific issues.
These included:
Hot honey and lemon
Steam inhalation and Vicks Vaporub
Echinacea
Chicken soup
A spicy curry
Beechams All in One Oral Solution
Strepsils
Lemsip Max
Sudafed Blocked Nose Spray
She took into account pain reduction, and how quickly and for how long they worked.
The best way to protect yourself from Covid is to get vaccinated.
Jabs have been updated to tackle recent variants, though not specifically for XEC, which evolved from earlier Omicron strains.
The NHS is offering autumn Covid boosters to the most vulnerable in October. This includes:
Over-64s
People aged between six months and 64 years with health conditions that make them more vulnerable
People living in care homes for older people
Front-line health and social care staff, including in care homes for older people
The NHS will contact eligible patients directly, but they can also book their own appointments now via the NHS App, GPs, pharmacies, drop-in clinics, or by calling 119.
Flu
For many people, having the flu will feel like an exaggerated cold.
The NHS states that flu symptoms can come on very quickly.
The dry cough could be similar to the cough experienced by people who have contracted coronavirus.
The NHS states that the symptoms are similar for children, but they can also get pain in their ear and appear less active.
Infection rates and hospitalisations for flu are currently stable across all age groups, according to UKHSA data.
But cases will likely rise in the coming weeks, peaking around Christmas time, according to the NHS.
The health service offers a free flu jab to those most at risk of getting the virus, so if you qualify then you can get it free anywhere that offers it.
This can be at your doctor’s surgery as well as supermarket pharmacies like Asda and high street favourites like Boots.
If you’re not in the eligible groups entitled to a free vaccination listed below, you can pay for a flu jab at certain stores.
All children aged two and three
All children in primary and all children in school Years seven to 11 in secondary school
Children aged six months to 17 years with certain long-term health conditions
Those aged six months to under 65 years in clinical risk group
Pregnant women
Those aged 65 years and over
Unpaid carers
Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
Frontline health and adult social care staff
A cold
Rhinovirus, more commonly known as the common cold, is a mild viral infection that circulates all year long.
Professor John Tregoning, of Imperial College London, previously told The Sun that the bug usually peaks in about October but “never really goes away”.
It’s normal for a child to have eight or more colds a year, and adults two, official guidance states.
The NHS says a common cold can cause:
A blocked or runny nose
A sore throat
Headaches
Muscle aches
Coughs
Sneezing
A raised temperature
Pressure in your ears and face
Loss of taste and smell
The difference between a cold and the flu is that a cold does not typically cause such a sudden spike in temperature.
There may be more blockage in the sinuses and a feeling of stuffiness, as opposed to flu which is more like total body fatigue.
With a common cold, you can usually expect to see an improvement after less than a week, although this can vary.
