FOX NFL Sunday revealed that Ezekiel Elliott was punished by the Dallas Cowboys.

Elliott was reportedly late to Dallas Cowboys team activities and was banned from travelling with the team.

Jay Glazer broke the news on Fox NFL Sunday, detailing how Elliott was held out of the Cowboys trip to Atlanta.

“So here’s the inside story out there,” Glazer said.

“Zeke was actually late for a handful of things this week, so they decided to not just deactivate him, but to not take him on the trip.

“He will not be part of that running back by committee.”

Elliott was not with the team for their loss against the Atlanta Falcons, and could face more discipline in the future.

“That’s an interesting situation,” Curt Menefee said.

“Sounds like something worth watching going forward.”

Elliott was a former first-round pick by the Cowboys in 2016 and was an exceptional rusher with the team for seven years before moving on.

He played for the New England Patriots last season, and eventually returned home to the Cowboys this year.

Elliott isn’t nearly the same rusher that he used to be during his original stint with the Cowboys.

In his original seven-year stint with the team he had 8,262 rushing yards.

This year Elliott has only managed 149 yards through seven games, but he does have two touchdowns.

Cowboys fans aren’t thrilled with him as their running back, and are sounding off on social media lately.

“Man, I am so glad Jerry Jones went and re-signed Ezekiel Elliott instead of going after Derrick Henry. That would have been terrible,” one fan said.

“Some gms get their qbs saquon Barkley others get their qbs 2024 Ezekiel Elliott,” another fan said.

The Cowboys signed free agent running back Dalvin Cook to the squad to help with their issues while Elliott is disciplined.

Cook only has 20 rushing yards so far this season.
