Jackson is the 22nd head coach in program history and it’s the second time coaching for the Jackrabbits.
The Omaha native played at SDSU from 2003-05. He then joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 2012.
Jackson was elevated to cornerbacks coach in 2014, while also serving as recruiting coordinator and specials team coordinator under John Stiegelmeier.
Dan coached two seasons at Northern Illinois and then two seasons as the defensive backs coach at Vanderbilt. Jackson was most recently the defensive coordinator for Idaho.
Jackson replaced Jimmy Rogers, who left SDSU for the head coach job at Washington State.
