A dramatic incident unfolded in the Suan Luang area when a man under the influence of drugs fired a gun in a residential area. Special operation forces, fully armed, surrounded the area and managed to apprehend the suspect. The man now faces serious charges.

Police were alerted to the situation around 5am today, November 6, following instructions from Witthawat Chinkham, the Chief of Police for Precinct 5, for Wachirakorn Wongbun, head of Khlong Tan Police Station, and the police patrol team from the same precinct to investigate the case.

A man, reportedly hallucinating due to drug use and wielding a firearm, had been causing a disturbance at a house on Phatthanakan Road, Soi 20, Intersection 8, in Suan Luang.

Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the man fired two shots but fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported. This incident occurred in a house located within the Saeng Santi community on Phatthanakan 20, Intersection 8. Officials from the Khlong Tan Police Station promptly responded to the situation, calling upon the special operations unit from Precinct 5 for additional support to handle the situation, reported KhaoSod.

The suspect, identified as 29 year old Vanas, was successfully apprehended along with a revolver, and 17 bullets of .38 calibre were seized as evidence. The operation managed to control the situation effectively without any casualties or injuries. Initially, Vanas was charged under the Firearms Act before being handed over to the investigators for further legal proceedings.

In related news, police officers stormed a residence to arrest a drug-addled man who had been firing a gun from his apartment. The incident occurred in the Pom Prap Sattru Phai district of Bangkok, following a tip-off from a concerned citizen.

The man in question, 33 year old Sombat from Chumphon, was apprehended on charges of possessing an unlicenced firearm, discharging a firearm in a populated area, and possessing and using a Schedule 1 drug, crystal methamphetamine or Ice.

The arrest was executed by a team led by Police Colonel Samart Phromchat, alongside other high-ranking officers.
