Elderly woman mauled by dogs after falling in driveway – they tore into her neck as witness cried ‘they’re eating her!’

A DISTRESSING 911 call depicted the gruesome scene in which an elderly woman was viciously attacked by her neighbor’s dogs.

The woman was walking down her driveway in Denham Springs, Louisiana, about 40 minutes east of Baton Rouge, on Tuesday when she fell to the ground, and seconds later, two dogs pounced on her.

Neighbor Cheryl Boudreaux said her mother witnessed the terrifying incident and immediately called police to assist the woman.

“My mama had to stand there and watch, and she was like, ‘Y’all need to hurry up and get here, they’re eating this woman,’” Boudreaux told ABC affiliate WBRZ-TV.

Boudreaux said her mother assumed the woman was dead because she stopped moving.

Randall Averette, who also witnessed the attack firsthand, described the elderly woman’s severe injuries.

“When I went over there, she was laying on the ground, paramedics bandaging her up.

“The paramedics said she that her left leg was torn pretty good around her calf,” Averette told the outlet.

“Her right left was bit, her arm was bit, and the dog bit on the back of her leg.”

A frightened Boudreaux told WBRZ-TV that her mother had also previously been attacked by the same dogs.

“They’ve bitten my mom twice. My mom’s 85 years old, and both times she required medical attention,” Boudreaux recalled.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Maria Vincent, the dogs’ owner, and charged her with negligent injuring and dogs not to run at large.

Sheriff Jason Ard told the outlet the dogs have a history of attacking pedestrians, according to the outlet.

Vincent was previously cited for those attacks.

“She’s been through the system already. She’s been fined. Here we are again, same dogs, same situation,” Ard added.

A concerned Boudreaux found it difficult to understand why animal control took so long to take the dogs away.

“We’re just furious, you know, because we don’t understand why it had to get to this,” she told the outlet.

“They finally took the dogs away, that’s the first time.”

Ard explained how the police had trouble identifying which dog had committed the previous act the first time.

“The last time we went through the paperwork to get the dog [considered] dangerous, we couldn’t actually identify the dog,” he said.

“Now, we have been able to identify the dog.

“Unfortunately, someone has almost lost their leg because of this.”

The unidentified woman was taken to the hospital after the dog incident on Tuesday.

It’s unclear whether the dogs will be euthanized or placed in a shelter.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The U.S. Sun.
