KYLIAN MBAPPE netted Real Madrid’s first goal in their 4-2 victory over Sevilla.
But some fans could have sworn he was also playing in a match in the U.K.
He never really found his place in the Celtic squad over the years[/caption]
And that’s because West Brom and ex-Celtic star Mikey Johnston ‘turned into Mbappe’ against Bristol City, according to one supporter.
The Scottish winger spent the second half of last season on loan with the Championship club.
And he quickly became a fans’ favourite as he netted just 30 seconds into his debut.
He scored seven and assisted one before the end of the season when he returned to Glasgow.
But he ended his 16 year stint with the Hoops after their pre season tour in the States when he signed permanently with West Brom.
And he scored his first two goals of this season as his side beat Bristol City 2-0.
The forward had failed to score in 18 league appearances before his brace.
His first of the game came in unfamiliar fashion as he got on the end of a whipped cross and HEADED the ball home.
But his second was scored in typical fashion as he drifted in from the left, cutting onto his right foot and lashing the ball into the top corner from just inside the box.
And fans have reacted to their match winner’s performance, taking to X to comment.
One fan said: “Mikey turning into Mbappe tonight.”
Another fan added: “Mikey is back! Two cracking goals from Mikey Johnston.”
A third supporter said: “It’s the Mikey Johnston show!”
His goals ensured the win that put West Brom just outside the top six on the goals scored rule.
And he will be hoping to lead them to promotion to the Premier League to end their four year stay in the second division.
