The early hours of yesterday saw a fire engulf the Siam Charoen Yont car dealership located in Surat Thani, causing significant damage to five vehicles. The blaze was reported to the police, who promptly responded to the emergency.
Police Lieutenant Phumiphat Jaiyen from the Surat Thani City Police Station, in collaboration with Police Colonel Nipon Chatri and local disaster relief teams, swiftly arrived at the scene yesterday, November 5, to manage the situation.
The fire erupted at a second-hand car tent situated at 100/18 Moo 6, Makham Tia subdistrict, and was actively consuming the cars parked within the premises.
“When we arrived, the flames were already spreading fiercely through the vehicles in the tent,” remarked an official involved in the firefighting efforts.
The swift response from the disaster relief teams played a crucial role in controlling the fire and preventing further damage.
Initial investigations at the site revealed that the tent is owned by 58 year old Somchai Khajornpai. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, necessitating the involvement of the Forensic Science Centre 8 to conduct a thorough investigation. This will help ascertain the exact cause of this unfortunate incident, reported KhaoSod.
“We need to identify what triggered the fire to prevent future occurrences.”
