FORTNITE servers are down at the moment as the game is deploying patch 33.20, which will bring Fortnite Festival Season 7, and more.

This is planned maintenance to add Fortnite Festival’s new content, including the Hatsune Miku skins, as well as Godzilla in the game’s Battle Royale mode.

Here’s everything you need to know about the current downtime, and when to expect servers to be back online.

Downtime for Fortnite’s update 33.20 started at 9am GMT / 4am ET today, January 14, 2025, with matchmaking disabled shortly before that time.

As usual, Epic Games has warned players about the servers going down beforehand in a post on the official Fortnite Status account on Twitter/X.

The teaser for the update features Godzilla, which is coming as a boss in Battle Royale mode, alongside King Kong.

Update 33.20 will also kick off Season 7 of Fortnite Festival, which will be headlined by virtual pop star Hatsune Miku.

The Hatsune Miku collab will feature skins, Miku-themed musical instruments and other cosmetics, which will be unlockable by levelling up the Music Pass.

How long is Fortnite’s downtime for update 33.20?

Based on previous updates of similar size, we expect downtime for 33.20 and Fortnite Festival Season 7 to last up to three or four hours.

So, if everything goes to plan, Fortnite servers should be back online before 1pm GMT / 8am ET today, January 14, 2025.

Updates like this one are often deployed much quicker than usual, so you can expect the game to be back from downtime even earlier.

What time does Hatsune Miku come out in Fortnite?

Hatsune Miku and her cosmetics will drop into the game as soon as servers are back from update 33.20’s downtime.

Fortnite’s Hatsune Miku content includes a Neko Hatsune Miku, which players will get immediately upon purchasing the Music Pass or via an active Fortnite Crew subscription.

The Music Pass will also feature a second skin as a final reward, along with other Miku-themed cosmetics.

A classic Hatsune Miku outfit will also be added to the Item Shop for purchase with V-Bucks when the game is back online.
