The New Year’s Eve special episode sees former Scottish contestants, including Nicky, Peter, Lea, Kevin, James and Norman return to the Bake Off tent.
The episode centres on Hogmanay and Scottish heritage as well as traditions, with everyone on the show embracing the Scottish spirit.
Whilst judges and presenters embraced the Scottish theme with tartan outfits, including Paul Hollywood.
However Alison was still disappointed in the Liverpudlian baker as she explained to Birmingham Live: “Oh, it was brilliant, it was so much fun. I’ll get up on my feet and start dancing. I’m straight in there.
“Paul wore a kilt… and so did Prue. Well, she wore a tartan skirt… And Paul did wear his pants underneath. We were really upset!”
The Scottish themed Great British Bake Off also tasked the bakers with some Highland themed tasks, including a traditional Signature bake, a Scottish shortbread Technical, and a cranachan-inspired Showstopper featuring oats, whisky, honey, raspberries, and cream.
Reunited with past contestants also got Alison emotional as she added: “Nicky from the last series was back, and it was lovely to see her again. They were my first Bake Off babies.”
The comments come after Alison Hammond has recently opened up about her staggering weight loss, where she’s shed 11 stone.
The death of Alison’s mum was the motivating factor for the TV presenter to kickstart her weight loss, after her mum had raised concerns over Alison’s pre-diabetic diagnosis.
Alison, who weighed 28 stone at her heaviest, has shed the pounds healthily by cutting out sweets and fatty food and working hard with a personal trainer.
Whilst many celebrities have turned to weight loss injections to help them achieve a slimmer frame, Alison explained that they weren’t an option she was keen on.
She told Good Housekeeping UK: “I think that, for people who need to use them, they’re a good thing – but for me, as soon as I hear any scare story, I get frightened.
“So I haven’t wanted to use them, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t in the future, and I certainly wouldn’t look down on anyone who did.”
Discussing her new healthy lifestyle, she added: “I thought: ‘I have to be an adult about this’.
“The sweets had to stop – and the fatty foods.
“Twice a week, I see my personal trainer and I have a couple of weights in my bedroom.
“I walk, I stretch and sometimes I do a bit of yoga.”
