Harare Man Assaults His Mother With An Axe In Dispute Over Tenant

A Harare man is in court after he assaulted his mother with an axe on the head after a dispute at their home.

This came after the man took offence when his mother reprimanded him for verbally abusing a tenant at their family home. The man named Ben Mapfumo got angry at his mother and inflicted injury on her head with an axe.

He was later arrested after he was reported to the police and is now in court facing assault charges.

Ben Mapfumo was remanded into custody after his initial bail hearing because his mother refused to take him back home, stating that she feared for her life.

The court then advised Mapfumo to find an alternative address so that it could help his bail hearing.
