Horrifying video clips depict the massive black clouds of smoke caused by the crash as emergency services rushed to help.
Firefighters from the Gresham Fire Department hosed down the suburban home to tame the growing fire while concerned residents crowded the streets to see what was happening.
Video of the side of the building shows bright orange flames engulfing the townhome.
Firefighters sprayed the townhome causing the fire to dissipate.
The crash of the twin Cessna 421C happened at 10:30 am in the neighborhood, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed to The U.S. Sun.
The FAA noted that two people were on board during the crash, and an investigation is currently underway.
John Plock, public information officer from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, said during a press conference that the initial 911 call came in around 10:20.
The neighbor reported large black clouds coming from a resident’s home, NBC News reported.
The aircraft first sparked a brush fire after hitting a power pole then crashed into a building of townhomes which also caught fire, Plock explained.
Residents of the area were immediately evacuated.
“I know that there, there are injuries,” Plock said.
“I don’t know how many, I don’t know how severe, and I don’t know about fatalities.”
He said there seems to be a “somewhat large debris field,” and law enforcement was working on securing the scene.
Gresham Fire Chief Scott Lewis told NBC News that the fire spread to four units, displacing five families.

Lewis mentioned that the original report noted three missing people: two on board and one resident.
He said none of the plane victims have been found, and medics treated two people.
It is unclear what injuries were sustained and if there were any casualties.
Portland General Electric services reported that over 9,000 residents’ services were affected by the crash.
“PGE crews are onsite assessing damage to our lines and will communicate with customers when we know more about the extent of damage and restoration timeline,” a representative told NBC News.
The FAA said it would provide updates after further investigation.
