A THRIFTER was shocked by their recent find while shopping for their partner.
While browsing through the long-sleeved shirts, the style of one in particular caught their attention.
TikToker Skye Hitchcock (pictured) made a shocking discovery at the thrift store this month[/caption]
Something was hidden inside the pocket of an affordable denim shirt[/caption]
“I saw this shirt and thought my husband would look good in it…” explained TikToker Skye Hitchcock (@skyehitch) in a video earlier this month.
Skye held back tears before flipping the camera, which showed the denim and striped button-down.
What had made her emotional wasn’t the $5.49 price tag, which was already a sweet deal, but what she found inside the outer breast pocket of the denim and striped button-up.
It was a small slip of paper with a verse from the Bible.
“Memory Verse” was written at the top, with “Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord,” at the bottom.
Not only was the verse meaningful to Skye because of her religion, but the number 23 was also included.
FATED FIND
“23 is a very very special number to me so it felt like it was made for me to find,” the TikToker said of the shirt.
Skye’s post later went viral, garnering over 288,000 likes.
Several agreed that the shirt was destined for her marriage.
“He’s so intentional, it’s so amazing,” someone wrote.
“It was made for you!!!” another exclaimed.
“That is soo cool!” a third said.
Others were a bit more skeptical, questioning why the thrifter felt a specific urge to sift through the pockets on that specific shirt.
“But how do you know to look in that one,” a viewer commented.
It wouldn’t be the first time something unique has been found In the pockets of clothing at the thrift store—but it’s often cold, hard cash.

CLOTHING CASH
In the New Year, fellow thrifter Colleen Wile (@colleenwile) was left thanking the “thrift gods” in a clip for the wad of money she found in the inner breast pocket of a men’s blazer.
At first, she located just over $300 in ones, fives, 10s, and 20-dollar bills.
After the jacket still felt heavy when she tried it on, Colleen looked inside the other breast pocket to find an additional $317.
The combined total shocked her, especially with the jacket’s resale value already worth around $200.
While it isn’t common for this to happen, cash can sometimes be missed by employees during the donation process in clothing pockets.
Still, a thrift store manager spotted about $85,000 in a pile of donated clothes in April 2024 before they were put on shelves.
One month later, someone else located $3,000 sitting on a thrift store pallet but didn’t pocket the cash.
