I’m a college football star for the Washington Huskies – I’m skipping the NFL Draft 2025 to pursue new career venture

DREW FOWLER won the internet.

It’s a hard thing to do in 2025 – but the Washington Huskies linebacker, who had 42 tackles in 49 games across five seasons, just did it.

Drew Fowler won the internet with an inspired post after graduating from the University of Washington
Fowler posted an emotional – and hilarious – message on his social media

Fowler broke social media with a truly brilliant post that will have put recruiters on notice.

Just probably not football recruiters.

Fowler, who also played special teams, created a truly inspired post that has got the whole college football world talking and has been recirculated and spread far and wide.

His social media posts have racked up hundreds and thousands of views despite Fowler having fewer than 10,000 followers.

And it’s all because he is looking for a job.

Fowler was a walk-on at Washington having turned down scholarships elsewhere and was part of the team that got to the National Championship game a year ago.

He grew up close to Montlake and the Huskies were “always the team and the place to root for” he revealed when he first attended the school in 2019.

His post started with a heartfelt thank you message to his coaches, teammates and support staff at Washington.

It read: “When I first committed here in 2019, I talked about taking ‘the road less traveled.’

“Boy, did I have any idea what that would truly mean. Playing through 4 head coaches, 3 athletic directors, 4 coordinators, and a global pandemic, my experience at UW has been nothing short of special.

“To all of my coaches from Coach Pete to Coach Fisch, from BG to Bala, Pao, Creighton, Inge, Socha, Mac, and everyone in-between: thank you for putting yout time, wisdom, and effort into me and this program.

“Thank you for all of the lessons learned.

“To all of the support staff, from academic advisors, athletic training, video, EQ, creative, and everybody I can’t possibly individually name: thank you for all of your sacrifice and hard work that too often goes unrecognized.

“I hope you know how greatly you are appreciated.

“Lastly, to my teammates. I know none of you guys read all of this. I love & appreciate you all. My brothers for life.”

Better than usual but nothing too out of the ordinary – until the second half of the message.

“In other words, I need a job.

“If you or anybody you know has an employment opportunity, I am your guy.

“Gritty, hardworking, sneaky athletic, locker room guy, will bring my lunch pail to work.

“My LinkedIn is updated and I am #OpenToWork.

“Thank you, Husky Nation.”

Fowler then updated his LinkedIn profile pic with the familiar green border and the post quickly went viral.

Judging by his profile, it should not be too long before he lands himself a new career.

Fowler was on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll for three seasons and graduated from Washington’s Foster School of Business.

He has a Masters in Communication in Communities & Networks.

His LinkedIn also shows he’s had several internships.
