Jeremy Clarkson ‘takes huge swipe at James May’ with brutal Bonfire Night moves | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Jeremy Clarkson divided his fans when he celebrated Bonfire Night with an unusual twist at his pub hours before the results of the 2024 US election.

On Monday night (November 5), Britons up and down the country crowded around bonfires for the annual tradition and watched beautiful fireworks.

The event marks the death of Guy Fawkes in 1605, the leader of the Gunpowder Plot which saw a group of individuals attempt to blow up the House of Lords and assassinate King James I.

This year the former Top Gear host decided to build his own bonfire and host an event with his friends and family at his new Chipping Norton pub The Farmer’s Dog.

But this year featured a surprising twist, as the 64-year-old broadcaster shared a photo of his structure with what appeared to be a figure of Donald Trump on it, engulfed in flames.

The motoring journalist certainly did not hide his feelings for the politician who celebrated the last day of his election campaign ahead of the presidential election on Tuesday (November 6).

Taking to Instagramthe father-of-three shared the unusual snap, which he captioned: “Bonfire night at @thefarmersdogpub.” It didn’t take long for fans to be divided as they flocked to the comments.

One user wrote: “Drink less soy… You’re not even American why are you trying to get involved in our politics?” As another agreed: “What the actual f. This ruined everything for me. Why do you even care?”

A third echoed: “Wholeheartedly apologize for writing nasty things about Meghan Markle then post a picture of Trump on fire. Never learn, I guess.”

Meanwhile, some fans couldn’t help but see the funny side of his political statement, with fans joking that the figure resembled his former co-star James May.

One user laughed: “Sacrificing James I see,” while another added: “Poor James.” Meanwhile, a third freaked out: “Thought it was Trump at first, then realized it was the mirror image of James May.”

But his political statement did little to change the minds of his American fans after Donald Trump won the 47th presidential election. To celebrate his second term in office, the politician gave a victory speech to supporters in Florida after winning the key state of Pennsylvania.

He thanked the crowd and said this was “the greatest political movement of all time” and that he would “help our country heal”.

His political commentary came moments after he announced the return of Clarkson’s Farm for its fifth series – and he certainly went out with a bang.

The TV presenter announced the news as hundreds of drones blaring yellow lights formed a huge 5 in the sky. He captioned the clip: “It’s November 5th… this just felt right (shifting eyes emoji) Clarkson’s Farm S5 is officially in ptoduction (praise emoji).”
