A Thai man on the run from the law took a reckless plunge from the fifth floor of a building, crashing onto a pickup truck and suffering serious injuries. The audacious escape came just hours after he had stolen a motorcycle and sought refuge in a nearby dormitory.

Yesterday, October 23, officers from Khlong Luang Police Station in Pathum Thani received a tip-off from their counterparts at Wang Noi Police Station in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya about a suspect linked to motorcycle theft. The suspect, identified as 39 year old Anurut, was allegedly holed up in a dormitory on Soi Nakhon Chai Villa, Soi 1, in Khlong Nueng subdistrict.

As police closed in, Anurut decided to make a dramatic exit, but his leap from the fifth floor didn’t go as planned. Now, he faces not only serious injuries but also charges for his earlier crime spree.

Police coordinated with the dormitory manager to access room 515 on the fifth floor. As soon as the officers reached the door, the suspect leapt out of the window, landing on an Isuzu pickup truck with the registration number ผต 2884 Nakhon Ratchasima.

The impact shattered the truck’s windshield and dented the bonnet, leaving bloodstains on the vehicle. Anurut, who sustained severe injuries, was unable to escape further.

Officers from Wang Noi Police Station also seized an unregistered Honda motorcycle believed to be involved in the theft, reported KhaoSod.

In addition to Anurut, police detained two other men found inside the room for further questioning at Wang Noi Police Station. The injured suspect was transported to Wang Noi Hospital by Ruamkatanyu Foundation staff for medical treatment.

In related news, a drug-addicted Peeping Tom fell from the roof of a cake shop in Nonthaburi province near Bangkok while trying to evade arrest. Officers found 184 methamphetamine pills, also known as Yaba, in his possession.

The staff of a cake shop, called Cake Foo, contacted officers from the Chaiyaphruek Police Station after a female worker noticed a man peeping at her while she was taking a shower. A part of the shop was also used as accommodation for the workers, and three female employees were staying there.
