JUST IN: Key Aide Reacts To Rochas Okorocha’s ‘Death’ Rumors

Owerri, Imo condition – Ebere Nzeworji, an assistant to Rochas Okorochaformer governor of Imo state, on Thursday morning, November 7, refuted rumors of the death of his principal.

Nzeworji stated that Okorocha “is healthy and hearty.”

The Punch quoted a statement by Nzeworji which the media platform said declared a viral message circulating since Wednesday night, November 6 about the alleged demise of Okorocha to be false. Individuals spreading rumors had claimed that Okorocha passed away in a London hospital.

Nzeworji clarified that Okorocha was seen at his Unity House office in Garki, Abujaaround the same time the rumor started spreading that he had recently returned from Owerri, Imo condition.

He noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) the chief had attended the burial ceremony of the late elder statesman Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on Friday November 1st.

Nzeworji remarked:

“Senator Okorocha has never wished anyone dead and is always happy and concerned about the well-being of others.

“We therefore call on all well-meaning Nigerians and the global community to disregard this fake news and rest assured that His Excellency, Senator Rochas Okorocha, is healthy and sound.”

The Sultan of Sokoto not dead

In the same vein, Legit.ng reported it The Muslim Public Affairs Center (MPAC) described rumors of the supposed death of the Sultan by SokotoAlhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, as “unfounded”.

According to Disu Kamor, the organization’s executive chairman, the Sultan is alive and in good health.

The organization called on Nigerians to disregard “harmful rumors and to remain vigilant in verifying news sources”, adding that such speculations only serve to distract and mislead.
