‘Just leave it alone,’ says Curt Menefee after Terry Bradshaw absolutely butchers NFL player’s name on live TV

FOX NFL Sunday host Curt Menefee had to stop colleague Terry Bradshaw from continuing his pronunciation of an NFL player’s name.

The sequence took place during the Week 16 edition of the NFL pregame show on Sunday.

The live television sequence occurred while Bradshaw was previewing the Minnesota Vikings-Seahawks Week 16 matchup

A little more than halfway through Fox NFL Sunday, Bradshaw was tasked with analyzing the Minnesota Vikings-Seattle Seahawks matchup.

The Pittsburgh Steelers legend said that the Seahawks’ offensive line has to improve to help quarterback Geno Smith while also saying the signal-caller needs to stop throwing interceptions in the red zone.

Bradshaw welcomed the news that starting center Olu Oluwatimi would make the start after missing most of the previous game due to an injury.

However, he couldn’t pronounce the 22-year-old Oluwatimi’s name correctly.

“Hang with me on this one, folks,” Bradshaw said before looking down at his paper and attempting to say the name Oluwatimi.

“Olubateeme.”

Menefee proceeded to interrupt Bradshaw, saying, “No, no, no, no, no. OK. Just their new center.

“Just leave it alone.”

The 76-year-old Bradshaw then defended his pronunciation of the NFL offensive lineman.

“You didn’t think I could do it. See I just wanted to provide I could do it on TV,” he replied to the TV host.

Co-star Howie Long then mocked Bradshaw for the sequence.

“Why do you stick your hand in the fire?” the 64-year-old asked him.

Bradshaw comically answered, “I just like turning that dial, Howie.”

Long then laughed as Menefee told him to “get us back on track” to preview the Buffalo Bills-New England Patriots matchup.

Bradshaw has a history of incorrectly pronouncing names on Fox NFL Sunday.

As for the Seahawks, they lost narrowly by a score of 27-24 to the Vikings.

Sam Darnold threw a game-winning touchdown to Justin Jefferson with 3:31 left in the fourth quarter.

Smith finished with three passing touchdowns and his lone interception came with 49 seconds left to seal Minnesota’s win.

Seattle have lost two straight games and are one game in back of the 9-6 Los Angeles Rams.

The Vikings improved to 13-2 and will host the Green Bay Packers next Sunday in Week 17.
