JJ Redick‘s squad are seventh in the West with a 20-17 record.

Despite his advancing years James has averaged 35 minutes per game this season – with 23.7 points, 8.8 assists and 7.6 rebounds.

During his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, James faced the Warriors in four consecutive NBA Finals.

In three of them Steph Curry and Co proved to be too much, but in 2016 James managed to deliver a long-awaited title for Cleveland.

Having warred for so many years in the NBA, James and Curry teamed up to help Team USA win gold at last summer‘s Olympics.

And if the Warriors get their way, the duo could link up again in San Francisco.

According to the Mail, the Warriors’ front office is desperate to trade for reinforcements for Curry.

Despite the 36-year-old’s brilliance, Steve Kerr’s team are 19-20 on the season, sitting 12th in the West.

Curry has indicated that he doesn’t want the Warriors to give up their future assets for short-term gain.

But nevertheless, front office members are reportedly keen on James, and fellow veteran Jimmy Butler, 35.

The Warriors possess all of their picks up to 2031.

While they also have Dennis Schroder, Gary Payton II, Kevon Looney, and Lindy Waters III’s expiring contracts.

Jonathan Kuminga is set to be a restricted free agent this summer, and could be used as a trade chip.

It’s claimed that both the Lakers and the Heat would demand multiple draft picks and expiring contracts.

‘AN AWFUL FEELING’

The Lakers returned to action earlier this week after having two games postponed in the wake of the devastating LA fires.

Head coach Redick, who lost his home in the wildfire, spoke powerfully ahead of the game.

He said, “It’s an awful feeling to lose your home.

“I think what has happened over the last 72 hours from me being up there and from having a number of people that had homes in the Palisades that are also staying at the hotel, you really get a sense of just the communal destruction.

“I got back to the hotel, and of course my wife and I are emotional.

“I’m not sure I’ve wept or wailed like that in several years.”
