A Thai woman was greatly relieved and overjoyed after a Facebook post led to the reunion with her lost wallet, which had more than 40,000 baht inside.

Phasuk Samroengsin, a factory worker from Rayong, lost her wallet on a family trip to Khao Kheow Open Zoo, near Pattaya. While visiting Moo Deng, the zoo’s current superstar, Phasuk took out her wallet to buy a drink and accidentally left it behind.

The wallet contained over 40,000 baht in cash and important documents. Despite searching the zoo thoroughly, she could not locate it and feared it was lost forever.

The next day, a friend informed Phasuk that someone had posted about the missing wallet on the Pluak Daeng City Facebook page. Phasuk promptly got in touch with the person who made the post and arranged to meet Sureerat Phrosamnaing, the individual who found the wallet.

Sureerat, a company employee from Prachinburi, explained that she discovered the wallet at the zoo and immediately sought to return it. She had no intention of keeping the money, as it was not hers. She posted on Facebook to ensure the wallet found its rightful owner.

Phasuk was elated to have her wallet back and offered Sureerat 3,000 baht as a token of gratitude. Although Sureerat initially hesitated to accept the money, the two women shared a heartfelt moment, both pleased with the outcome, reported Pattaya News.

“I never thought I would get my wallet back. I am so grateful to Sureerat for her honesty and kindness.”

In related news, an elderly man who recently withdrew 10,000 baht in cash from the Thai government’s handout initiative found his wallet missing, prompting a heartfelt community response. A woman’s Facebook post detailed the incident and led to numerous offers of assistance from across the country.

The government recently issued 10,000 baht to vulnerable groups, distributed based on the last digits of their ID cards. Many citizens have rushed to withdraw and use the funds.
