Dell suffered a horrific knee injury during the clash on Saturday.
And he was immediately whisked to hospital for medical work which is set to see him on the sideline for some time.
Reports now claim Dell has dislocated his knee.
But Houston Texans manager DeMeco Ryans insists docs are still evaluating the situation in a major update.
He said: “Right now, Dell is flying back to Houston. We’ll still be evaluating, see where he is, still meeting with doctors to see what’s next.
“But it is a significant knee injury and prayers are with him.
“We would really like to thank the Kansas City medical team and the doctors there and their staff for being very accommodating.
“For helping out with Tank, giving him a room, getting him set up. I really thought those guys did a really unbelievable job.
“Rick Burkholder and his staff, they did an unbelievable job and very thankful to the entire Kansas City organization and their medical team.”
Meanwhile, Dell is yet to speak about the incident himself, but he did post a heartbroken emoji to social media on Sunday.
Boss Ryan added: “We’re talking about real people who have real emotions, real feelings that are going through a tough time right now.
“So just some thoughts and prayers with everyone that’s involved in this situation.”
It’s not the first time Dell has sustained a major leg injury.
He fractured his fibula in Week 13 last season against the Denver Broncos.
And Ryan could dip into the market for a new wide receiver.
He noted: “A little bit early right now for me when it comes to that.
“But we’re always exploring everything we have to do to improve our team.”
